Research background: Despite the sanctions pressure, consequences of the pandemic coronavirus infection COVID-19 and other non-economic factors, the study of the impact of globalization processes on the country’s economy comes to the fore today, as Russia is one of the key elements of the world economic system in these difficult conditions. The dynamics of world commodity markets influence the internal economic processes of the country. The authors conclude that the processes of globalization through the influence of the world commodity markets have a significant impact on the capabilities of Russia’s transport complex and require the development of its transport potential on the principles of economic growth. Purpose of the article: Determination of the impact of globalization processes on the renewal of the transport potential of Russia on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of the economic situation. Methods: To conduct the study, we used statistical reporting. Along with traditional research methods (analysis, synthesis, classification), additive models were used to form an index of transport market conditions, which allowed us to identify statistically significant determinants that allow us to determine the main directions of development of Russia’s transport potential in the context of increasing globalization processes. Findings & Value added: The results show that the most significant trends in the development of Russia’s transport potential are determined by globalization processes and require their consideration when developing measures to upgrade and modernize the country’s transport infrastructure. The developed conceptual model for assessing the impact of world commodity markets in the context of globalization of economic processes on the development of the country’s transport system contributes to the development of tools to increase the transportation of both transit and export-import cargo.

In the context of countries integration into the world economic space, agricultural sector is one of the priorities and strategically important sectors of the national economy. Development of instruments aimed to increase investment potential of this sector is therefore an important component of the country’s economy growth. The article proposes a science-based model of the impact of the agricultural sector on the economic development level of countries trying to move towards European integration. It was found that the employment rate (+58.4) has the largest influence on the rate of GDP change in the studied group of countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia). The impact of the gross value added of the manufacturing sector on its economic growth is positive (+44.6). The negative foreign direct investment ratio in the model (–40.3) may be due to the fact that the indicator in the studied countries is still largely influenced by the intervention of the state mechanism, significant uncertainty and risk, which is a deterrent to the overall economic development. An important result of the study was that foreign direct investment had a negative impact on economic growth in developing countries. Further development of the investment potential of a country’s agricultural sector provides for a radical acceleration of scientific and technological progress and, on this basis, a reduction in the cost of a unit of agricultural products and food and an increase in their competitiveness in the domestic and world markets.

Research background: The coming period of the world economy coming out of the pandemic crisis will seriously change the situation in the cargo and passenger segment. According to the assessment of the current situation, in the global market there is a violation of the usual ties between producers and consumers, an imbalance in transport flows associated with changes in demand. At the same time, in a crisis, rail transport is the main tool, since a significant amount of anti-epidemic protective equipment from China was transported by trains. It is clear that in the near future the dynamics of the market depends, first of all, on the further development of events and measures of state support for industries and businesses. Purpose of the article: The purpose of this research is to score the factors of the post-crisis state of transport sector: alterations in the gravity of commodity markets, modifications of valuable preferences assessment of the shipper and the passenger, that change the business model of transport companies. Methods: Standard methods of scientific research are used: theoretical and experimental; complex methods of analysis and evaluation of business models: a complex scheme for developing a business model, a canvas and a conceptual scheme of a business model; methods of qualitative data analysis. Findings & Value added: Factors changing the transport business model are systematized. The research estimates a change probability in the gravity of commodity markets towards Asian countries, the consequences of the influence of digital technology on the efficiency of the transport business and the shift in the value of transport services in the line of high speeds. It shows the impact of the post-pandemic economy, which has formed new habits, passenger behavior on passenger companies’ operations. The research justified crisis effects resulting in the deterioration of the competition in the transport markets.

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of activity based costing in reducing crude oil production cost in Nigerian indigenous oil and gas company. This research work identified strategies to effectively reduce the cost of crude oil production by adopting a cost reduction tool for crude oil production and to establish a good crude oil flow to the surface for production. Activity based costing was the cost reduction tool used for this work. The tool helps to differentiate between value added costing and non-value added costing. Non-value added costs must be reduced or eliminated during production so as to maximise profit. Data was collected from an indigenous oil service company. The collated data were tabulated and graphs were plotted with the aid of Microsoft excel. The analysis revealed a total sum of ₦ 416,978,977 was wrongly spent for a duration of three years on crude oil production due to non-value added costing. The activities are: poor transportation of crude oil, that is, use of mobile tanker for haulage instead of laying 4 inches coated pipes for a distance of 5km and contracting the treatment of produced water to a contractor instead of setting up a water treatment plant. Also, using a diesel engine generator for electric power supply while gas was available as a fuel gas for natural gas consuming generator was a non-value added activity. Lastly, inadequate oil well flowing practice by flowing the well through an adjustable choke for a long period of time instead of using a fixed choke. This is a huge loss for indigenous oil producing fields operated by an indigenous oil service company in Nigeria. The loss was due to inability of the producers/field location owners to set up few equipment to meet up with complete operation standard.

Located in a geographical area with limited water resources, Morocco has multiplied its efforts to manage its water resources. These efforts have been materialized through the continuous improvement of the legislative framework governing the water sector and adapting to the new constraints whether they are climatic, technological and/or economic. In this sense, this work aims at evaluating the impact of these public interventions on the observed agricultural and economic growth. The methodological approach adopted is based on the growth accounting method developed by Solow in 1957. It allows for the decomposition of growth into factor contributions and productivity contributions. The results of this study confirm the primary role played by agriculture as an engine of growth in the Moroccan economy. They also show that the contribution of water to the growth of agricultural value added is around 2% and that it remains dependent on climatic conditions which are changing under global warming.

Aim and tasks. The purpose of the research is to substantiate the methodological approach to the impact of the integration model of logistics marketing on the effectiveness of reproduction processes in the system of commodity markets. The main objectives of the study are: to determine the essence of the interaction of logistics and marketing at the level of commodity markets, substantiation of the phased scheme of eliminating problem areas as part of the leading characteristics of commodity markets, outlining the impact of integrated logistics marketing model on the theoretical foundations of commodity markets. Results. With the proposed methodological approach to the use of an integrated model of logistics marketing becomes relevant to situations that are associated with radical transformational shifts in the strategic commodity markets associated with the diversification of foreign markets, the formation of complete supply chains, innovative economic development. etc. The proposed scheme of overcoming the problematic characteristics of certain types of commodity markets indicates the presence of significant reserves for the use of marketing research on the formation of effective logistics chains in the system of reproductive processes of trade. Conclusions. It is concluded that the main indicators of the effectiveness of taking into account the logistical factor in making marketing decisions are determined - the factor of availability of goods for use, accessibility to the place of use and time of use of goods. The influence of marketing on the formation of logistics chains of the commodity market is determined by the adaptation of logistics to the leading characteristics of commodity markets.

Prior to the start of any Wind Power Park construction project, it is necessary to carefully assess available wind potential in the selected area. The cost of such investigative studies is considerable – even with a relatively small 70 m tall mast it reaches several tens of thousands of Euros. In order to reduce costs related to wind speed measurements it is suggested to use the existing cellular communication masts that are widely spread in Europe. The study presents a methodological approach and the results of wind speed and wind shear measurements performed with the use of lattice cellular communication masts at the height of up to 100 m. A CFD model of airflow around a cellular communication mast structure was created in order to explore the impact of mast structure on the quality of wind speed measurements. The paper presents the results of the CFD modelling in the form of contour maps depicting the severity of airflow disturbances around the mast. The study is based on experimental measurements conducted in 2018 in three coastal sites of Latvia. At each site wind speed and direction were measured at several heights along with air temperature, humidity and air pressure. The experimentally obtained data in combination with the analysis of modelled CFD results shows the possibility of using cellular communication masts for accurate measurements of wind speed. Overall, the study shows that the proposed approach to wind speed measurements can result in high quality data and reduced overall expenses.

Background: The active development of commodity-transport ties makes the issues of the influence of the situation on commodity markets on the directions and structure of freight traffic particularly important. Scientific understanding of the prospects for the development of transport communications in order to increase the efficiency of goods distribution in accordance with the growing requirements of the economy for its speed, reliability and cost allows us to determine economic indicators for the development of transport infrastructure and the need for investment in fixed assets of transport companies. Aim: Development of methodological tools for assessing the impact of commodity markets on the processes of updating fixed assets of a transport company. Methods: The methodological basis of the study is the work of domestic and foreign scientists, which examined the formation of a system of economic indicators - indicators of the state of technical means and systems, the problems of the development of railway transport in the context of macroeconomic changes, as well as the features of innovative activity in railway transport. To solve the tasks, the method of system analysis, methods of statistical analysis, methods of technical and economic calculations, etc. were used. Results: A methodological approach to the determination of economic indicators reflecting the need for investment when updating the fixed assets of a transport company is proposed taking into account the dynamics of the transport market. Conclusion: The economically feasible renewal of fixed assets of railways not only plays an exceptional role in creating the conditions for the efficient use of their production resources and their development in general, but also helps to create conditions for satisfying solvent demand in the transport market.

AbstractObjective: The objective of the article is to mark the introduction of process changes in relation to the Emergency Travel Document service by The Foreign & Commonwealth Office. The paper analyses the changes and relates them to process and cost management strategies. Thus, it presents how process efficiency may be managedMethodology: The article is of a theoretical and practical nature. The method used in the theoretical part is a review of literature on process management. The second part includes an analysis of The Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s own documents.Findings: The use of digitalization greatly facilitates the process for British citizens who are abroad and need to obtain a travel document. This facilitation applies to both customers and FCO employees. Numerous factors influence the processing time reduction, which in turn increases productivity.Value Added: This article presents an example of the practical use of digitization in the process of issuing the Emergency Travel Document. The value is to show the impact of modern technologies on improving the processes for the organization itself (in the form of optimizing operational costs and increasing efficiency) and for the customers.Recommendations: The use of digitization can be successfully implemented to streamline organizational processes. It can help in reducing their time and limiting human involvement. Increased productivity lowers the cost of a single unit of the service. The changes allow for a more standardized and repeatable service. The approach can be used to manage processes in any organization; though practical implications outlined in the text can serve as an example for other organizations offering similar services.
