The COVID-19 pandemic has caused changes in the school learning system. Face-to-face learning shifted to remote learning using multimedia approaches. Online learning created particular difficulties for Physical Education (PE) teachers. Previously, they had to be role models in the teaching of physical activity. A national virtual workshop was conducted to support those teachers as they shift to remote learning. The purpose of the workshop was to provide PE instruction through social media and develop online learning modules. The 3 days of activities consisted of 4 lectures and 6 workshops provided to 177 PE teachers from 32 provinces in Indonesia. Participants were informed about the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on children, and healthy life during the pandemic. Online applications that were free of charge, easy to use, highly rated, and widely downloaded were also introduced to them. These multimedia applications could help teachers develop and deliver remote learning modules to their students. The workshop supported the teachers as they adapted to interactive distance learning. The workshop also successfully illustrates an innovative distance learning module delivered through multimedia.

The background of the problem is whether online learning for physical education subjects in elementary school can run effectively, physical learning is dominant by doing a lot of movement activities that must be followed by students, considering that in physical education learning motion learning must also be followed by supporting tools in practice. The Covid 19 pandemic changes face-to-face learning processes into a network, all processes are carried out without face to face directly. This underlies this research to determine whether physical education learning during the pandemic can be effective in delivering material. The research method was descriptive qualitative in which to obtain the data used a survey tool via google form which was distributed to elementary school physical education teachers in Petarukan sub-district, the number of primary schools taken for the study was 23 elementary schools and the sample of teachers in filling out google form was 27 PJOK teachers. The results showed that online physical education learning runs effectively, the level of effectiveness is influenced by the availability of internet networks, the knowledge of teachers and students in operating the learning system online through applications provided in online learning (WhatsApp, google meet), and students have the communication tools used. in online learning.

education in the current Covid-19 pandemic era must be shifted from face-to-face learning systems to distance learning. This online learning requires suitable and appropriate media without reducing the quality of learning. The purpose of this research is the use of WhatsApp Group as a learning medium in universities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative research methods. The instrument in this quantitative research is a research questionnaire. To find out the number of research results, it is known by knowing the percentage. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on education, namely the existence of Covid-19, has changed the education system in Indonesia from various levels. Online learning was carried out after the ban on face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Online learning is carried out by utilizing online media that is relevant to needs. WhatsApp Group as a learning media in Higher Education, which is an online media commonly used in the communication process during a pandemic, was chosen to be used as a medium to support the distance learning system. WhatsApp Group apart from having powerful features, is also easy to reach and cheap in terms of data packages used for distance learning. WhatsApp Group media is a recommendation in the implementation of online learning today. The conclusion is that in the current pandemic era, online distance learning systems must use appropriate and comfortable online media without reducing their quality. WhatsApp is an online learning solution during the pandemic.

Purpose: Black women are devalued in many aspects of American culture—physical education (PE) is no exception. Platforms to celebrate Black women’s excellence in PE are scarce. Drawing on Black feminist thought and critical race theory, the purpose of this article is to describe and explain the experiences of Black women physical educators who earned PE Teacher of the Year. Participants: Two Black women share their experiences as physical educators and PE Teachers of the Year. Methods: Qualitative narrative inquiry consisting of semistructured, virtual group interviews was employed. Results: Four core themes were identified: (a) invisibility, (b) superwoman syndrome, (c) affirming role models, and (d) culturally responsive pedagogies. Discussion/Conclusion: Elevating Black women’s voices in PE requires a deconstruction of limited exposure opportunities. Normalizing Black excellence in PE acknowledges that Black women’s intersectionalities create enormous challenges yet foster students’ success. Black women physical educators benefit students and society.

In an effort to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Kemdikbud took a policy to close schools during the Covid-19 pandemic. All schools that initially did conventional learning by face-to-face, now learning is done from home through distance learning or online system, no exception pondok pesantren. The purpose of this research is to find out the distance learning process conducted by Pondok Pesantren Darunnajah 2 Cipining, Bogor. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative approach. Based on research can be known that in learning, pesantren use various platforms such as google classroom, google meet, whatsapp, and smart system. In this online learning, the materials and tasks given are quite diverse, although there are no tasks in the form of discussions so that the interaction between students and students and teachers cannot be done. All parties, both students, teachers, and parents experienced a culture shock with the existence of this distance learning system / online. Distance learning /online also gives rise to physical distancing. Religious activities that are usually carried out in pesantren are now carried out at home and all must be reported to the teacher or room guardian via whatsapp. The challenges faced in online learning include a lack of interaction between teachers and students, a network that arises to sink, quotas that are rapidly depleted and expensive, and a lack of active participation of students. Therefore, the readiness of both teachers and students, as well as motivation from parents can also support the implementation of this distance learning process. In addition, the provision of quotas is also important to support the online learning process carried out by pesantren.

Anti-fat bias by professors in physical education departments may interfere with the training provided to pre-service teachers. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the attitudes of professors in physical education departments toward obese individuals. Professors from randomly selected institutions across all four US regions participated in the study ( N = 94). Participants took the Implicit Association Test and answered the Anti-Fat Attitude Scale and two questions specifically designed to measure their attitudes toward physical education teachers and majors who are obese. The participants exhibited implicit good–bad ( p < .001) and lazy–motivated ( p < .001) anti-fat biases. Professors favored accepting majors who are obese ( p < .001), but they strongly disapproved of obese physical education teachers as role models to their students ( p < .001). Explicit anti-fat bias was associated with a stronger disapproval of physical education teachers who are obese as role models to students ( p < .001) and accepting majors who are obese ( p < .001). Implicit good–bad anti-fat bias was associated with a stronger disapproval of obese physical education teachers as role models to students ( p = .047). The anti-fat bias demonstrated by the professors may negatively affect the training of pre-service physical education teachers to work with students of all body sizes. Awareness programs may be necessary to diminish anti-fat bias among professors in physical education teacher education programs.

The global pandemic and forced self-isolation have become significant factors in the rapid restructuring of training at all levels of education, and postgraduate in particular. They have caused not only the reformatting of the content, forms and methods of the advanced training system, but also mastering of tools and technologies of distance learning as the main way of communication between the educational process subjects. The article analyzes the contemporary tendencies in organization of the advanced training process of physical education teachers based on introduction of distance learning technologies. Improving the advanced training system of physical education teachers comprises the use of their multilevel preparation, which consists of continuous self-educational activity (first level); regular participation in organized forms of advanced training (advanced training and internship courses) (second level); analytical, scientific, and practical activity (third level). Self-educational activity includes acquaintance with online tools for distance learning organization and their use in practice. «Methodical materials» prepared by the Committee of Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for physical education teachers, the implementation purpose of which is to diversify motor leisure in quarantine terms; informational content of the YouTube channel «Junior Z» in the framework of the All- Ukrainian project «Physical Culture of the Future»; the project of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine «Digital Physical Education for schoolchildren with the participation of sports stars» are among them. The example of organized form of advanced training of physical education teachers is given based on the experience of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University in the sphere of postgraduate education and continuous pedagogical education. In particular, the curriculum and organization peculiarities of the distance advanced training course for physical education teachers in quarantine terms are characterized. By conducting distance learning courses in such a way, teachers' behavior is modelled when they need to organize distance learning support for students in their schools. Within the framework of continuous education, physical education teachers should improve their qualification not only in their professional specialization field, but also in the sphere of information and communication technologies.
