Background. Carotid atherosclerosis (CAS) is a common disease which seriously threatens the health of senile patients. The studies have indicated that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may effectively improve the symptom of CAS, while the therapeutic effect of Huayu Tongmai decoction on CAS remains unclear. Thus, this study aimed to explore the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine Huayu Tongmai decoction intervention and prognosis indexes of patients with CAS. Methods. Ninety CAS patients admitted to Zibo TCM-Integrated Hospital from September 2018 to September 2020 were selected as the research object and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group according to the male-female ratio of 1 : 1. Patients in the control group accepted the atorvastatin intervention, and on this basis, patients in the observation group were further intervened with TCM Huayu Tongmai decoction. Before and after treatment, patients’ levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were measured by the enzyme photometric colorimetry; hypersensitive c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels were measured by the ELISA method; nitric oxide (NO) levels were measured by the nitrate reductase assay and endothelin-1 (ET-1) levels were measured by radioimmunoassay; and the right and left carotid internal diameter (CAD), intima-media thickness (IMT), and plaque volume were measured by carotid ultrasonography. Results. The TC, TG, and LDL-C levels significantly decreased in patients compared to those before intervention; compared with the control group, patients who accepted Huayu Tongmai decoction combined with atorvastatin saw more significant improvement in their blood lipid indexes ( P < 0.01 ); after intervention, patients’ hs-CRP and ET-1 levels dropped significantly while the NO level rose remarkably, and between the two groups, the improvement in levels of hs-CRP, ET-1, and NO of patients in the observation group was significantly better ( P < 0.01 ); it was concluded from the imaging diagnosis results that compared with using atorvastatin alone, the combined intervention could better improve patients’ CAD, IMT, and plaque volume. Conclusion. Huayu Tongmai decoction can effectively improve patients’ blood lipid, reduce inflammatory response, enhance levels of relevant regulatory factors of CAS, and alleviate the symptoms.

Abstract Background The influence of traditional Chinese medicine on the tumor microenvironment is one of the mechanisms of its overall conditioning effect. In this study, we observed the influence of Wumei decoction,a traditional Chinese medicine classic prescription, on the core signal transduction molecules of the lung metastasis microenvironment in the model of lung metastasis of breast cancer in mice. Methods A breast cancer animal model established by inoculating the second pair of mammary fat pads of SPF grade Balb/c female mice with mouse breast cancer 4T1 cells, stably transduced luciferase. Model animals were divided into drug observation group, drug control group and blank control group. Bioluminescence imaging technique in vivo was used to observe the growth and metastasis of breast cancer in situ and lung. The gene expression in the lung metastasis microenvironment of the drug observation group and the blank control group was detected by Agilent expression profiling chip, and the differential genes were screened. And STRING (https://string-db.org/) online analysis system was used to obtain the signal transduction network, and then the MCODE plug-in of Cytosacpe software was used to obtain the core signal transduction molecule. Finally, the expression of these signal transduction molecules was detected by RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Results Observed from the bioluminescence imaging technology in vivo, the fluorescent area of the breast cancer in inoculation area of each group mice gradually increased over time, indicating that the tumor volume is continuously increasing. The fluorescence distribution of the blank control group was dispersed on the 30th day, which had exceeded the vicinity of the original inoculation focus, indicating that the tumor had obvious metastasis. However, the drug observation group and the drug control group did not show such obvious transfer. Transcription expression profile chip results showed that there were 123 differentially expressed genes in the drug observation group and the blank control group, of which 64 genes were up-regulated and 59 genes were down-regulated. The signal transduction network of the 123 differentially expressed genes was obtained. The core genes recommended were AGT, CCL20, CXCL9, CXCL10, and HTR1B. RT-PCR results showed that the expression of AGT, CCL20, CXCL9, CXCL10, and HTR1B in the drug observation group were reduced compared with the blank control group, and the difference was statistically significant, p < 0.01. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that the core genes of the drug observation group showed a low expression trend, and the difference of CCL20 and CXCL10 was statistically significant, p < 0.01. Western blotting results also showed that each core gene protein in the drug observation group, compared with the blank control group, showed a downward trend. The difference of AGT and CCL20 was statistically significant, p < 0.01, and the difference of CXCL10 was also statistically significant, p < 0.05 . Conclusions Wumei decoction,a traditional Chinese medicine classic prescription, can inhibit lung metastasis of breast cancer to a certain extent. Inhibiting the expression of AGT, CCL20, CXCL9, CXCL10, HTR1B and other core signal transduction molecules in the lung metastasis microenvironment is one of its mechanisms.

ABSTRACT Soft tissue injury is the most common disease in orthopedics, and it is also the most easily neglected disease in sports. Without timely and effective treatment, it is easy to develop into malignant strain and seriously affect life and sports. In view of this, the aim of this study is to analyze the effect and mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine gel in treating such injuries in the light of the characteristics of sports-related soft tissue injury. The right gastrocnemius muscle injury was simulated in 36 adult male rats. Chinese medicine gel and tincture were used to treat it. The contents of interleukin, alanine aminotransferase, blood urea nitrogen and prostaglandin E2 in the blood of rats under different courses of treatment were analyzed to explore recovery in four rats. The results showed that the levels of interleukin and prostaglandin E2 in the blood of rats treated with drugs were significantly lower than those in the control group (p<0.05), indicating that both drugs have obvious therapeutic effects on soft tissue injury. The content of interleukin in the blood of the Chinese medicine gel group was slightly lower than that of the tincture group, indicating that the Chinese medicine gel could affect the recovery of soft tissue injury by affecting leukocyte interleukin. This result is helpful in the treatment of soft tissue injury in sports and to further improve the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine gel.

Objective. To observe the clinical effect of Xiaozheng Decoction combined with bladder perfusion with hydroxycamptothecin in the treatment of bladder cancer. Methods. A total of 92 bladder cancer patients admitted to our hospital from January to December 2018 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The observation group was given Xiaozheng Decoction combined with bladder perfusion with hydroxycamptothecin, and the control group was given hydroxycamptothecin. The levels of serum-related factors (intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), E-cadherin, cell adhesion molecules (CAM), fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)), white blood cell (WBC) level, immune function indexes, short-term total response rate, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results. After 2 years of postoperative treatment, the levels of ICAM-1, E-cadherin, CAM-1, FGF, and VEGF (a, b, c) in both groups were improved compared with those before treatment and the observation group was better than the control group p < 0.01 . The number of WBCs was significantly higher than in the control group after Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment. The observation group was better than the control group in increasing CD3+ and CD4+ levels and decreasing CD8+ level p < 0.05 , indicating that this prescription could improve the immune function of patients. The recurrence rate in the observation group was 6.52% after 2 years of treatment, lower than 17.39% in the control group. Color ultrasound parameters showed that there were no statistically significant differences in arrive time (AT) and time to peak (TTP) between patients with and without recurrence and peak intensity (PI) and washout time (WT) were higher in patients with recurrence than in patients without recurrence p < 0.01 . The incidence of adverse reactions was significantly lower than that of the control group p < 0.01 . Conclusion. The clinical effect of Xiaozheng Decoction combined with hydroxycamptothecin on the treatment of bladder cancer was clear and superior to that of hydroxycamptothecin, which could effectively improve the serological indicators of patients with a low incidence of adverse reactions and prolong the survival cycle of patients. Therefore, it is worthy of promotion and application.

Cervical papillomavirus infection is a common disease in women. The risk of permanent infection is the main reason for cervical HPV and its advanced acanthosis. The last time, the incidence rate of cervical papillomavirus is only different from that of malignant tumor women. The trend of young tumors is more and more obvious. Therefore, the treatment of parasitic lesions is very important to prevent or reduce the occurrence of cervical HPV. This paper aims to study the effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with routine nursing on patients with cervical human papillomavirus infection. The application of traditional Chinese medicine therapy to promote the postoperative rehabilitation of patients with cervical human papillomavirus infection has significant effect, which is of great significance for clinicians in the future work. In this paper, through the introduction of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine oral and external use combined with routine nursing methods, through the follow-up experimental investigation method to study the cervical human papillomavirus infection rate and the effect of cervical human papillomavirus infection patients after operation, it is proved that the effect of traditional Chinese medicine oral and external use combined with routine nursing on cervical human papillomavirus infection patients is better. The results show that 54% of the cervical HPV infection rate makes people pay more and more attention to cervical HPV. The infection investigation and genotyping can effectively judge the prognosis of patients, which has extremely important clinical significance.

Objective: To estimate the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (Chining decoction, CHIN) for radiation-induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer. Methods: From May 2014 to December 2015, 70 consecutive patients were randomly assigned to receive CHIN (treatment group) or recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) spray (control group) at a 1:1 ratio. CHIN was administered to treatment group from the first day of radiotherapy until the completion of radiotherapy. Simultaneously, the rhEGF spray was administered to control group on the oral mucosa of irradiated area. The clinical benefit was determined by gradation of mucositis (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events v4.0), oral pain, and xerostomia (visual analysis scale) for each week during radiotherapy. Body mass index was evaluated before and after radiotherapy. Results: Patients in the treatment group had prominent remission of oral pain and grade of mucositis on each observing point compared with those in control group ( P < .01). Xerostomia was decreased notably in treatment group compared with control group ( P < .01). Body mass index in the treatment group exhibited advantage over control group after radiotherapy, but there was no statistical significance (19.8 ± 3.26 vs 18.8 ± 2.5 kg/m2, P = .153, >.05). Conclusions: CHIN presented an obvious advantage in preventing radiation-induced oral mucositis compared with rhEGF spray.

This study is to investigate the effect of atorvastatin combined with losartan on inflammatory factors, vascular endothelial function, and cardiovascular events in patients with diabetic nephropathy. A total of 128 patients with diabetic nephropathy treated in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2015 were selected as the study subjects, and 64 cases were randomly divided into observation group and 64 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with losartan on the basis of routine treatment, and the observation group was treated with atorvastatin on the basis of the control group. The blood lipid, inflammatory factors, changes in vascular endothelial function and cardiovascular events were compared between the two groups. The levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were not significantly different between the two groups before treatment ( P > 0.05); after treatment, the levels of TC, TG, and LDL-C in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the level of HDL-C was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P < 0.05). The levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interleukin 6 (IL-6) were not statistically different between the two groups before treatment ( P > 0.05); after treatment, the levels of hs-CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6 in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group ( P < 0.05), the level of HDL-C was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of endothelin-1 (ET-1) and nitric oxide (NO) between the two groups before treatment ( P > 0.05). After treatment, the level of ET-1 in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P < 0.05), and the level of NO was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P < 0.05). After treatment, all patients were followed up for 2 years, and the incidence of secondary cardiovascular events in the observation group was 12.50% (8/64), which was significantly lower than 29.69% (19/64) of the control group ( P < 0.05). Combination of atorvastatin and losartan can significantly improve the levels of blood lipid, inflammatory factors, and vascular endothelial function in patients with diabetic nephropathy and can effectively reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events.

Abstract Background: The combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine is commonly accepted in clinics in China. Shaoyao-Gancao-Fuzi decoction (SGFD) has been extensively used to dispel wind, eliminate dampness and treat paralysis. Tofacitinib is approved for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. SGFD and tofacitinib could be used together for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: A cocktail approach was employed to assess the effects of SGFD on the activities of CYP450s. After pretreatment for 2 weeks with SGFD, a cocktail solution was given to rats 24 h after the last dose of saline or SGFD. Additionally, the pharmacokinetic profiles of oral administration of tofacitinib in rats, with or without SGFD pre-treatment were investigated. Results: The results showed that SGFD could induce the activity of CYP1A2 and inhibit the activity of CYP3A4. Furthermore, SGFD could significantly affect the pharmacokinetics of tofacitinib. Compared with control group, the AUC0-∞ of tofacitinib was increased from 13669.53 ± 4986.83 to 28706.69 ± 9563.13 ng/mL*h (p < 0.01), and the Cmax was increased from 8359.66 ± 1512.22 to 11332.51 ± 2791.90 ng/mL (p < 0.05).Conclusions: The system exposure of tofacitinib was increased by SGFD. The mechanism might be through inhibiting the activity of CYP3A4 and reducing the metabolism of tofacitinib in rats. The study will provide better guidance for the safe clinical use of SGFD and tofacitinib.
