This article is devoted to the economic and technical aspects of the research on continuous noncontact measurement of the workpiece diameter during the manufacturing operation using a suitably selected and designed sensor. In order to achieve this main goal, it was necessary to meet these partial goals. We develop and describe a method of accurate continuous technical measurement of the workpiece diameter during the machining process. We propose a principle of continuous technical measurement of workpiece diameter, design a scanning method based on this principle, and verify the developed equipment on a specific case of technical measurement. At the same time, the development includes the expansion of the use for continuous noncontact measurement of workpiece vibrations. Based on test measurements, an optical sensor was selected, the analysis of which is presented in a part of the article. The introduction of this article provides a simple view of the need for continuous measurement of the workpiece diameter. The second chapter presents the current state of the problem. The third chapter is devoted to the theoretical analysis and description of practical implementations of the solution. The conclusion, as it could be expected, includes evaluation of the results.

The article describes the use of BYOD technology (Bring Your Own Device) in educational practice using the Lecture Racing mobile application. This application provides feedback between the teacher and students both in the classroom and during distance learning, contributes to the visualization of educational material and, in general, the informatization of the educational process. The purpose of the study is to conduct a theoretical analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of BYOD technology in Russia and abroad, and to test the benefits of using this technology in educational practice using the specific mobile application. During the study, an analysis of scientific, theoretical and practical literature on BYOD technology was carried out. In the process of experimental work, test tasks were the instrument of measuring knowledge and skills of students. As a result of a theoretical analysis and study of the practical possibilities of using BYOD technology (using the Lecture Racing mobile application as an example), it was found that this technology allows you to visualize information that is displayed in real time on the screen of each student's mobile device, regardless of its location. This technology also allows both the student and the teacher to quickly work with information, provide feedback, receive an independent assessment (since the assessment is set automatically), saves time, and develops the information culture of students.

Many evolutionary theorists have enthusiastically embraced human nature, but large numbers of evolutionists have also rejected it. It is also important to recognize the nuanced views on human nature that come from the side of the social sciences. This introduction provides an overview of the current state of the human nature debate, from the anti-essentialist consensus to the possibility of a Gray’s Anatomy of human psychology. Three potential functions for the notion of species nature are identified. The first is diagnostic, assigning an organism to the correct species. The second is species-comparative, allowing us to compare and contrast different species. The third function is contrastive, establishing human nature as a foil for human culture. The Introduction concludes with a brief synopsis of each chapter.

This article examines the implications of human-caused climate change for security in Canada. The first section outlines the current state of climate change, the second discusses climate change impacts on human security in Canada, and the third outlines four other areas of Canada’s national interests threatened by climate change: economic threats; Arctic threats; humanitarian crises at home and abroad; and the threat of domestic conflict. In the conclusion, I argue that climate change has clearly not been successfully “securitized” in Canada, despite the material threats it poses to human and national security, and outline directions for future research.

In the semiconductor industry, a device that can measure the surface-profile of photoresist is needed. Since the photoresist surface is very smooth and deformable, the device is required to measure vertical direction with nanometer resolution and not to damage it at the measurement. We developed the apparatus using multi-cantilever and white light interferometer to measure the surface-profile of thin film. But, this system with scanning method suffers from the presence of moving stage and systematic sensor errors. So, in this paper, an error separation approach used coupled distance sensors, together with an autocollimator as an additional angle measuring device, was consulted the potentiality for self-calibration of multi-cantilever. Then, according to this method, we constructed the experimental apparatus and do the measurement on the resist film. The results demonstrated the feasibility that the constructed multi-ball-cantilever AFM system combined with an autocollimator could measure the thin film with high accuracy.

In the first part of his article, the author examines the current state of the issue of secondary dementia and proves that a group of psychoses, known under the name secondary dementia, should be left in the classification of mental illnesses. The second part is devoted to the analysis of Krpelin's scholarship on dementia praecox, and the author fundamentally disagrees with many of the provisions of the latter. In the third part, the ethiology, clinical course and recognition of premature dementia are analyzed.

Abstract It has become almost a cliché to say that we live in a post-truth world; that people of all trades speak with an indifference to truth. Speaking with an indifference to how things really are is famously regarded by Harry Frankfurt as the essence of bullshit. This paper aims to contribute to the philosophical and theoretical pragmatics discussion of bullshit. The aim of the paper is to offer a new theoretical analysis of what bullshit is, one that is more encompassing than Frankfurt’s original characterization. I part ways with Frankfurt in two points. Firstly, I propose that we should not analyze bullshit in intentional terms (i.e. as indifference). Secondly, I propose that we should not analyze it in relation to truth. Roughly put, I propose that bullshit is best characterized as speaking with carelessness toward the evidence for one’s conversational contribution. I bring forward, in the third section, a battery of examples that motivate this characterization. Furthermore, I argue that we can analyze speaking with carelessness toward the evidence in Gricean terms as a violation of the second Quality maxim. I argue that the Quality supermaxim, together with its subordinate maxims, demand that the speaker is truthful (contributes only what she believes to be true) and reliable (has adequate evidence for her contribution). The bullshitter’s main fault lies in being an unreliable interlocutor. I further argue that we should interpret what counts as adequate evidence, as stipulated by the second Quality Maxim, in contextualist terms: the subject matter and implicit epistemic standards determine how much evidence one needs in order to have adequate evidence. I contrast this proposed reading with a subjectivist interpretation of what counts as having adequate evidence and show that they give different predictions. Finally, working with a classic distinction, I argue that we should not understand bullshit as a form of deception but rather as a form of misleading speech.

Abstract The study is a continuation of the first part of the publication, concerning the theoretical analysis of sensitivity of rheological models of dynamically stretched thread. This part presents the experimental research on the characteristics of stretching forces as a function of time, in the context of comparing the obtained results with theoretical data. The selected research material was three types of polyester silk threads with linear densities 84, 110 and 334 dtex. During the tests, threads of 400 to 1300 mm were stretched at speeds in the range of V ∈ [0.65, 1.47] m/s, which corresponds to the knitting speed n ∈ [700, 1600] courses/min. An original measuring device for empirical identification of dynamic processes of threads stretching was used during the tests. In total, 36 tests variants were performed. The procedures of mathematical equivalence were also worked out for the rheological models of Kelvin-Voigt, Zener and the three-parameter Standard model 2, which enabled the description of threads stretching phenomena in technological processes with the help of generalized rheological model, taking into account the visco-elastic qualities of threads. Experimental results showed that for the assumed deformation speeds ε(t) ∈ [0.53, 4.00] 1/s, the open three-parameter models – Standard model 2 and Zener model most reliably describe the stretching process.

The article is devoted to the study of the current state of female athletes’ training in ketlebell lifting. The dynamics of fulfillment of standards of the master of sports of Ukraine by female athletes in all disciplines of ketlebell lifting in the period from 2016 to 2021 is analyzed. Female athletes (women aged 18-35 years) of national teams of regions of Ukraine in weight categories up to 58 kg, up to 63 kg, up to 68 kg and over 68 kg took part in the study. The protocols of the championships of Ukraine for the specified period were analyzed. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical literature and documentary method (study of competition protocols). It was found that in the snatch for the period under study the standard of the master of sports obeyed only three athletes, but in the jerk and long cycle no one female athletes have not fulfill the standarts. In addition, in a snatch with an arbitrary change of hands for 12 minutes (R-12), which was introduced in 2019 to attract more women to ketlebell lifting and popularize ketlebell lifting among women, in three years the standard of master of sports obeyed 27 female athletes. This allows us to say that at the present stage of development of ketlebell lifting there is a high level of preparedness of female athletes in the discipline of R-12 and the popularity of exercises with ketlebells among women. The need to improve the training process of female athletes in other disciplines of ketlebell lifting was also confirmed.
