AbstractThe agricultural sector is currently facing many global challenges, such as climate change, and environmental problems such as the release of pesticides and fertilizers, which will be exacerbated in the face of population growth and food shortages. Therefore, the need to change traditional farming methods and replace them with new technologies is essential, and the application of nanotechnology, especially green technology offers considerable promise in alleviating these problems. Nanotechnology has led to changes and advances in many technologies and has the potential to transform various fields of the agricultural sector, including biosensors, pesticides, fertilizers, food packaging and other areas of the agricultural industry. Due to their unique properties, nanomaterials are considered as suitable carriers for stabilizing fertilizers and pesticides, as well as facilitating controlled nutrient transfer and increasing crop protection. The production of nanoparticles by physical and chemical methods requires the use of hazardous materials, advanced equipment, and has a negative impact on the environment. Thus, over the last decade, research activities in the context of nanotechnology have shifted towards environmentally friendly and economically viable ‘green’ synthesis to support the increasing use of nanoparticles in various industries. Green synthesis, as part of bio-inspired protocols, provides reliable and sustainable methods for the biosynthesis of nanoparticles by a wide range of microorganisms rather than current synthetic processes. Therefore, this field is developing rapidly and new methods in this field are constantly being invented to improve the properties of nanoparticles. In this review, we consider the latest advances and innovations in the production of metal nanoparticles using green synthesis by different groups of microorganisms and the application of these nanoparticles in various agricultural sectors to achieve food security, improve crop production and reduce the use of pesticides. In addition, the mechanism of synthesis of metal nanoparticles by different microorganisms and their advantages and disadvantages compared to other common methods are presented.

Nanosized particles, with a size of less than 100 nm, have a wide variety of applications in various fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. Metal nanoparticles [MNPs] have been synthesized by different chemical and physical procedures. Still, the biological approach or green synthesis [phytosynthesis] is considered as a preferred method due to eco-friendliness, nontoxicity, and cost-effective production. Various plants and plant extracts have been used for the green synthesis of MNPs, including biofabrication of noble metals, metal oxides, and bimetallic combinations. Biomolecules and metabolites present in plant extracts cause the reduction of metal ions into nanosized particles by one-step preparation methods. MNPs have remarkable attractiveness in biomedical applications for their use as potential antioxidant, anticancer and antibacterial agents. The present review offers a comprehensive aspect of MNPs production via top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top approach with considerable emphasis on green technology and their possible biomedical applications. The critical parameters governing the MNPs formation by plant-based synthesis are also highlighted in this review.

Recently, the development of eco-friendly, cost-effective and reliable methods for synthesis of metal nanoparticles has drawn a considerable attention. The so-called green synthesis, using mild reaction conditions and natural resources as plant extracts and microorganisms, has established as a convenient, sustainable, cheap and environmentally safe approach for synthesis of a wide range of nanomaterials. Over the past decade, biosynthesis is regarded as an important tool for reducing the harmful effects of traditional nanoparticle synthesis methods commonly used in laboratories and industry. This review emphasizes the significance of biosynthesized metal nanoparticles in the field of electrochemical sensing. There is increasing evidence that green synthesis of nanoparticles provides a new direction in designing of cost-effective, highly sensitive and selective electrode-catalysts applicable in food, clinical and environmental analysis. The article is based on 157 references and provided a detailed overview on the main approaches for green synthesis of metal nanoparticles and their applications in designing of electrochemical sensor devices. Important operational characteristics including sensitivity, dynamic range, limit of detection, as well as data on stability and reproducibility of sensors have also been covered. Agriculture continues to be one of the most significant sectors of India's economy today. The country is successfully performing in a wide range of primary sector fields, gradually increasing its export potential. However, the first green revolution caused significant damage to the country's resources, as a result of which, in the post-bipolar period, the state began to take actions aimed at changing the established practices of the last century. However, the second revolution, which began in the 1990s, did not solve all the difficulties. In this regard, the author's goal is to analyze the existing key problems of the primary sector and consider possible answers to them in the field of innovative technologies. The author comes to the conclusion that it is the digitalization of agricultural activities that could qualitatively increase the level of income of the population and the efficiency of the primary sector both in the domestic and foreign markets. At the same time, the introduction of new technologies is impossible without changing the institutional environment and work on socio-cultural factors that have a substantial negative impact not only on India's agriculture, but on all socio-economic processes in general, and therefore New Delhi will need to take comprehensive measures on a large scale rather than limit oneself to the primary economic sector. The Indian government has to carry out a comprehensive reform of its economy, otherwise there is a great threat of undermining social stability. The gradual introduction of innovative solutions and digitalization of agriculture will have a relatively quick, visible, but at the same time sustainable effect.

Green technology is a fast evolving scientific topic that has attracted a lot of attention in recent years due to its wide range of applications. It is a multidisciplinary field that is safe, non-hazardous, and ecologically friendly, in contrast to chemical and physical approaches for nanoparticle synthesis. Because the existing biomolecules in plant extract act as both a reducing and capping agent, the produced nanoparticles are very stable. As a result, nanoparticles that have been manufactured have a wide range of potential applications in the environmental and biomedical domains. The current report contains current information on numerous green synthesis methods that rely on different plant parts for green transition metal nanoparticles synthesis.

Smart world is envisioned via the fusion of diverse technologies like sensor communications, cloud computing, internet of things, AI, machine and deep learning. No doubt, new technologies bring revolution and innovation in every aspect of human life, but they are accompanied by lots of limitations in terms of energy wastage, environmental hazards like carbon or other chemical emissions, extreme consumption of natural or renewable sources and greenhouse effects. In order to minimize the negative impact of these technologies on the environment, it is utmost important to move towards green technology. That is the reason researchers are working hard and moving towards green computing, ICT, and IoT. This chapter explores an in-depth analysis of principles of G-IoT, making significant progress towards improvising the quality of life and sustainable environment. In addition to this, the chapter outlines various Green ICT technologies explores potential towards diverse real-time areas and also highlights various challenges acting as a barrier towards G-IoT implementation in the real world.

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) are a key strategy for digital education. The MOOCs contribute significantly to people’s knowledge about a wide range of topics. Nowadays, several web platforms as Coursera and edX offer MOOCs in different domains, however the platforms mentioned do not offer MOOCs focused on crop management through monitoring of climate elements and factors. In this paper, we present an overview of the MOOC titled: “agroclimatic tools for crop protection” for agricultural-sector Spanish speakers. We show a first MOOC evaluation based on a survey applied to 13 people of rural areas located in Cauca (Colombia) for one video of the “Temperature” MOOC unit. The results indicated that 100 % of the respondents understood clearly the video content and 53, 84 % of the surveyed learners understood all the words used in the video.

The purpose of the paper is to justify the organizational and methodological provisions and to develop practical proposals for improving the information support of organic production delineating ways to advance the accounting system. To achieve this goal, we were focused on the next tasks: determination of the essence of the state and directions of development of organic production, research of legislative requirements for accounting of organic production and improvement of its accounting information support. Methodology. During the research, the following general and specific scientific methods were used: theoretical generalization, analogy, statistical observation, analysis, synthesis, scientific abstraction, critical analysis of accounting issues. Results. In the paper, the following issues were investigated: the place of Ukraine in the organic products market, the main advantages and disadvantages of organic products, ways to improve the information support for the development of organic products. It is proved that the establishment of organic agricultural production in Ukraine requires the development of its accounting support. According to the emergence of such support, it is possible to expect the development of this segment of the agricultural sector. Practical implications. In this paper, the accounting of organic production is improved considering the necessity of coordination of economic, social, and ecological activities of agricultural enterprises by making documentation of business operations related to organic production, confirming the need for internal control of organic production costs to improve their management efficiency, establishing a work plan of accounts regarding the formation of separate analytical accounts for the process of receipt of biological assets, producing organic products and selling them, as well as creating separate analytical accounts to determine the financial result (based on the proposed analytical calculations, the process of creating production costs and determining revenues can be simplified; if cross-production is carried out at an enterprise, then this technique will help to determine the benefits of organic production over conventional production easily), developing a system of financial and statistical reporting indicators for organic enterprises. Value / originality. The improvement of accounting and internal control system can provide the information with the required level of detail to meet the needs of interested users and to make such management decisions that will help to preserve natural resources and reduce the negative impact of enterprise activity on the environmental situation in Ukraine.

The so called “Fourth Industrial Revolution” (4IR) 1, is an emerging phenomenon which will likely transform our lives and affect multiple sectors of society. This new revolution encompasses and combines a wide range of new technologies, such as quantum computing, nano and bio-technology, artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), and advance automation. Foreseeing all the impacts and ripple effects that these technologies will have in our societies, in the next years, is a sizeable and difficult task. Much of the debate has usually been focused on automation, which the Cambridge Dictionary defines as “the use of machines or computers instead of people to do a job, especially in a factory or office” 2. The ongoing debate focuses, on the potential of automation to generate production efficiency benefits vs. the threat to increase unemployment lines. But the actual effects (positive and negative) of this revolution may be much wider and deeper, including social and environmental impacts closely related to sustainable development. Following, we present a brief non-exhaustive commentary on some of the potential advantages and disadvantages of the 4IR from the perspective of the 17 goals adopted by all parties to the United Nations on September 2015, as part of an agenda to tackle global problems and reach sustainable development3.

The purpose of the present article is to gain an understanding of the opportunities and difficulties created by the introduction and development of the practice of network (smart) contracts. Our research methodology is based on a holistic set of principles and methods of scholarly analysis employed by modern legal science. It uses a dialectical method involving both general approaches (structural system method, formal logical method, analysis and synthesis of individual elements, individual features of concepts, abstraction, generalization, etc.) and particular methods (legal technical, systematic, comparative, historical, and grammatical methods, method of the unity of theory and practice, etc.). We analyze the views of lawyers and other specialists from Russia and abroad, legislative innovations in the field of digital technologies, the practice of blockchain-based smart contracts, and the main risks (whether legal, technological, operational, or criminogenic) of smart contracts for economic activities with a study of their causes. In the present-day situation, it is necessary to move from the legal definition of the smart contract and its legal and technological characteristics, advantages and disadvantages to the implementation of startups in a wide range of areas, especially business, public regulation, and social relations. Scholarly and information support for such processes will contribute to the development of industry, public administration and digital technology applications to improve the life of individual citizens and society as a whole. The introduction of smart contracts does not require the adoption of new laws or regulations. Instead, one should adapt and, possibly, modify existing legal principles at the legislative and judicial levels to pave the way for the use of smart contracts and other new technologies. The system of contract law provides a sufficient framework for regulating transactions without the introduction of any new legal categories. We propose approaches to the legal definition of the smart contract and identify a set of problems that must be solved at the legislative and technical legal levels in order to implement smart contracts effectively in different spheres of life.

Currently, the economies of most developed countries in the world are at the stage of digital transformation. Daily streams of information data contain various innovations, nanotechnologies, business projects, and know-hows. Smart technologies are turning out to be faster, more compact, more efficient, and more powerful every year and are becoming the key to solving problems in various fields of activity. The agricultural sector is no exception. Over the past decade, the agro-industrial complex has undergone numerous changes as part of government projects on implementation of IT systems designed to solve a wide range of tasks, to search for new technologies of manufacturing environmentally friendly and safe products, thereby expanding possibilities for the agricultural market to enter a new level of international trade.
