Maintenance of armoured vehicles in modern conditions has a significant impact on the effectiveness of combat missions. In particular, the timeliness of delivery of personnel and necessary cargo can be a critical parameter for the success of tasks in emergencies of man-made and natural origin, riots, participation in special operations for searching for and neutralizing armed criminals, eliminating illegal armed groups or performing territorial defence tasks. A complex characteristic of any technical system is its efficiency as a measure of the feasibility of solutions adapted to operating conditions. Assessing the effectiveness of armoured vehicles is associated with the need to predict performance, which directly depends on the application of modern technical areas to maintain the required level of performance. The efficiency of the system - the ability to perform its functions with a certain level of quality during the established period of operation. The efficiency of the system is determined by the set of its properties, laid down in the design and manufacture and maintained during operation. In this work, the criterion of effectiveness is to maintain the efficiency of armoured vehicles at the required level in service and combat use in a variety of road, transport and atmospheric-climatic operating conditions. Strategies and tactics for maintaining armoured vehicles performance at the required level are considered. The specificity of the operation of armoured vehicles is that it is used in different, sometimes very difficult conditions. Therefore, an individual approach is required, an adaptive maintenance and repair system state of armoured vehicles. The most expedient for armoured vehicles is a balanced combination of all levels of regulation of the systems of organization of maintenance and repair.

The paper is devoted to optimization of maintenance and repair system of passenger cars. The method is based on the use of profitability as a criterion of optimization. Revenue from car operation is supposed to be uniform during a service life. Costs include price of construction, expanses on utilization (with deduction of income from the writeoff), expanses on repairs of large volume, expanses of other railway services and variable expanses on current maintenance of a car in inter-repair periods that are assumed to change linearly and quadratically during each inter-repair period. The authors propose a method to consider dependence of current repairs cost on a car condition during its life cycle. They also have developed a method of optimization of costs on roundhouse servicing and major overhaul. The proposed methods are realised on C++ language in the form of software package that can be used to control the passenger car repair system and for development of new cars.

Technical operation of lifting and transport equipment is one of the key problems of ports and terminals. The functions of technical operation include maintenance and repair of lifting and transport equipment. The imperfection of the maintenance and repair system leads to downtime of lifting and transport equipment, which affects the cost of loading and unloading operations. The main requirements for technical operation are to ensure the quality and speed of loading and unloading operations with minimal operating costs. One of the indicators for assessing the quality of technical operation is the coefficient of technical readiness, which shows that the probability that the lifting and transport equipment will be in a working state at any time, except for periods in which operation is not provided. These periods include the time when the lifting and transport equipment is being maintained and repaired. Technical operation strategy is selected based on the technical readiness coefficient.

The aim of this study was to estimate the effect of feeding system on the growth rate and carcass quality of crossbred Improved Jezersko-Solčava x Texel (JSRT) lambs and to evaluate the effect of sex on these traits. The trial was conducted in nature according to the traditional rearing systems. The trial included 44 crossbred lambs, which were born and reared until the slaughter in three different flocks. In the age of 10 days suckled lambs were offered with ad libitum corresponding diets according to the feeding system. All lambs were slaughtered in seven consecutive days by the same procedure. The effect of feeding system significantly affected daily gain from birth to slaughter, EUROP carcass conformation and shoulder width. Likewise, the effect of sex significantly affected daily gain from birth to slaughter and internal fatness of carcasses. According to carcass cuts the feeding system significantly affected only the proportion of neck and leg. Considering meat quality traits, feeding system had a significant effect on the pH 45 and CIE a* values. In this study, we could speculate that more than the feeding system the growth and the carcass traits as well as meat traits were affected by the amount of the supplement.

The concept of transporting medical products by drone is gaining a lot of interest amongst the medical and logistics communities. Such innovation has generated several questions, a key one being the potential effects of flight on the stability of medical products. The aims of this study were to quantify the vibration present within drone flight, study its effect on the quality of the medical insulin through live flight trials, and compare the effects of vibration from drone flight with traditional road transport. Three trials took place in which insulin ampoules and mock blood stocks were transported to site and flown using industry standard packaging by a fixed-wing or a multi-copter drone. Triaxial vibration measurements were acquired, both in-flight and during road transit, from which overall levels and frequency spectra were derived. British Pharmacopeia quality tests were undertaken in which the UV spectra of the flown insulin samples were compared to controls of known turbidity. In-flight vibration levels in both the drone types exceeded road induced levels by up to a factor of three, and predominant vibration occurred at significantly higher frequencies. Flown samples gave clear insulin solutions that met the British Pharmacopoeia specification, and no aggregation of insulin was detected.

The article describes the issues of transport of bulk materials. The knowledge of this process has a key impact on the rational planning of transport tasks. It is necessary to have knowledge about the transport services market and the competition that exists in it. In order to achieve a competitive advantage on the market, enterprises should analyze data on the implementation of transport tasks on an ongoing basis. It is also important that the costs incurred from the conducted activity are minimized, while increasing the quality of services and taking into account the sustainable development of the enterprise. The study analyzes data from a few selected motor vehicles in the period of 3 years of operation, coming from an enterprise specializing in the transport of bulk materials. Moreover, a global sensitivity analysis was performed based on a neural model describing the impact of the analyzed factors on the company’s profit. The results show that the most important factors influencing the company’s profit are the fuel consumption of individual vehicles, the driver (driving style) and the month (average temperature, weather conditions).
