Employers, students and their parents stand on the customer side of vocational training. In my essay I describe the background process and relation of the parent-student side's decision. In connection I am looking for answers on the questions like the fulfilment of their expectations of the chosen school or the opportunity of the learning of the selected trade. Students confront the deficiency of the practical training places in lot of trades, mainly in "fashion trades". This yields the result that the students are not able to learn their origi-nal trade longer - what they started in grade 9 - and obliged to modify and to select an other trade or a school.

© 2017 Elsevier Ltd This study provides insights into language development in a trades training context in New Zealand. Its key focus is to identify how the acquisition of the specialised words is supported in a primarily practical training environment. Transcribed recordings of 16.5 h of talk on a building site and in theory classrooms, along with interviews with tutors and learners, were analysed to explore the extent and nature of episodes where attention is drawn to the specialised terms and provide insight into strategies for and beliefs about learning these new words. Findings show that both tutors and learners do draw attention to the language they are using, primarily the meanings associated with new forms, mainly through tutor-talk and tutor-learner interaction. This description of how experienced tutors support their trainees' vocabulary acquisition is likely to be of value to new and experienced tutors in trades teaching and beyond.

In modern conditions, the process of training teachers for the vocational education system needs new conceptual approaches taking into account the real state and development prospects of the industry economy and education based on world requirements. The normative basis for the implementation of degree programs is the conjunction of educational and professional standards. The design of modular degree programs in the field of vocational training (by the branches) is based on the principles of modularity, variability and continuity of professional and higher education. The content of each module reflects a competenceactivity approach and includes a practice-oriented theory with practical training in model laboratory conditions or tests in a real learning environment of professional educational organizations and internships at the workplace including at high-tech enterprises in the industry. An independent expert review of professional and pedagogical and qualification competencies is admission to the profession and ends with a state demonstration and (or) qualification exam and the defense of final qualification work performed by the order of the employer. As shown by the practice of joint activities within the framework of cluster formations, the integration of the resources of the scientific, educational and production potential of the university, the network of professional educational organizations and leading enterprises in the industry, improves the quality of training highly qualified personnel with a set of competencies in both professional and pedagogical, as well as professional qualification activities. The implementation of degree programs within the framework of educational clusters enables to solve the acute problem of «personnel gap» including the lack of teachers who are ready to train workers and specialists for priority sectors of the region.

In addition, the authors have defined the common feature of professional practical training of cooks in culinary schools in the USA, that is its organization under the conditions of real production that ensures a wide professional competency of future cooks, their acquiring knowledge and skills needed for professional activity. It has been concluded that positive aspects of foreign experience may assist in defining prognostic directions for the development of cooks’ vocational training in Ukraine.
