In the article the authors consider modern approaches to the formation of the content of training of engineering specialists on the example of modelling the syllabi of academic disciplines. A comparative analysis of current trends in the content of professional training of engineering personnel in institutions of higher technical education in Ukraine, Western Europe and China. It is noted that one of the main shortcomings of domestic higher education is still its inconsistency with the requirements of the labour market and the lag of technical training from scientific and technological progress. The latter encourages the revision of another strategic involvement of training – the formation of professional competencies of future professionals, and hence the formation of a new content of training for future engineers. An example of such attempts is the introduction of syllabuses in the educational process of higher education. The creation of information and educational networks has globalized this problem and led to the need to realize it at a new innovative level. The article focuses on the definitive analysis of the researched problem and on the basic principles of syllabus construction, which are based on the competence approach. It is noted that the main task of this analysis is to study the substantive nuances between the syllabi of academic disciplines and their work programs, why and for whom this document is prepared and whether it is right at all. Emphasis is placed on the basic principles of construction of syllabi of academic disciplines, according to which they can be distinguished from work programs. As a fundamental principle, access to learning outcomes is highlighted, which should be expressed through the levels of competencies of graduates. Thus, through educational activities, the opportunity to design the future professional activity of the student is realized, and as a result to consider the competence acquired in the learning process. The structural components of syllabuses of academic disciplines are considered. The structure of the syllabus of the discipline in terms of components and a specific example of its modelling have been provided.

The current situation in secondary education is characterized by the development of various educational institutions, which differ not only in educational programs and curriculum, but also in the conditions for training and educating, which make up the educational environment of modern educational institutions. The importance of studying the processes of forming the educational environment in a modern school is relevant, since the quality of education and upbringing of modern students who spend most of their time in the educational environment of schools will depend on its organization. Studying the problems of organizing the educational environment is also important in the sense that it is the qualitative approach to this process that will determine in the future if it is possible for students to receive high-quality educational services. The influence of the educational environment on the modern student is determined today, first of all, by the students' perception of the educational process, their involvement in the process of its creation and improvement. The effectiveness of the educational environment may also depend on how the student perceives it. So, the educational environment can be an effective means of developing the potential of the student, but if it is an integrated space for the interaction of children and adults (parents, teachers).

The article explores the problem of teachers’ reflexivity, its influence on the educational process and the specifics of teachers’ professional activity. The research purpose is a theoretical and empirical study of teachers’ reflexivity and its developmental specifics. The main forms of reflexivity development are lecturing, training, analysis, self-analysis and testing. To improve the personality traits which are important for reflexivity development (self-awareness, communication skills, empathy, identification of professional and personal value guidelines, etc.), a teacher may also use different games and tasks, along with various methods of analyzing the lessons and his/her own contribution to them. All these resources should be included in the annual plan of an educational organization. The results of the study allow concluding about the effectiveness of the declared measures for teachers’ reflexivity development. Within the changing domestic education system, one of the key challenges is training teachers who meet the requirements of the modern professional standard. A possible solution to this problem can be systematic work in an educational organization to improve the teacher’s underdeveloped qualities. One of these characteristics, which can influence the improvement of the teacher’s professionalism and ensure the compliance with the professional standard, is reflexivity. Along with the fact that reflexivity is among the most important components of the pedagogical activity, it is necessary to recognize the poor criterial basis for the professional reflexivity of teachers working in educational organizations, namely the applied aspects of its development within teachers’ methodological activity.

Іn the article the modern scientific researches on building and development of key competencies in theory and practice of pedagogical science are analyzed. The peculiarities of the professional activity of the teacher of biology through the interrelation of his/her informative, developmental, orientation, mobilizing, constructive, communicative, and organizational and research functions are researched. The analysis of modern approaches in the preparation of the future teacher of biology made it possible to determine leading functions in the educational process of a secondary school: informative, developmental, orientation, mobilization, constructive, communicative, and organizational and research. All functions are interrelated; they complement and refine each other.A large number of researchers prove that the competency-based approach most completely reflects the modern processes in European countries.Taking into account the world experience and needs of the development of the Ukrainian school in the domestic pedagogy, three types of competencies characterizing the results of learning on the basis of a competency-based approach are recognized: key, interdisciplinary and knowledge of subject. The notion of "competency-based approach" refers to the orientation of the educational process on the building and development of the key (basic, main) and substantive competencies of the individual. The result of this process will be the formation of a general competence (professionalism) of a person, which is the integrity of key and substantive competencies, an integrated personality trait. Such a characteristic should be formed in the process of learning and  contain knowledge, skills, attitudes, experience, values and behavioural models of personality. The competency-based approach takes special place in the process of building and development of competencies of the future specialist in the system of higher education. In the scientific sense, the concept of "approach" is interpreted as the starting point for forming the basis of research activity. The general idea of a competency-based approach is competence-oriented education, which aims at the complex of knowledge acquisition and methods of practical activity, through which a person successfully implements himself/herself in various fields of life. The most important specificity of the competency-based approach lies in the fact that not the "ready-made knowledge" transmitted by the teacher is assimilated, but "the conditions of the origin of this knowledge are traced".

Introduction. The period of studying in a professional educational organization is the most important in the life of a future specialist, as it is the time when a person becomes a participant of industrial relations, forms views on the profession, changes the system of values, develops motivation for professional activity. The strengthening of social and professional responsibility of a person should be accompanied by the strengthening of an educational institution’s responsibility for the quality of training of a specialist. Researchmethodology. Professional self-determination is considered by researches both as a process, and as the result of the development of a professional, each phase (stage) of which is characterized by different content. The age of adolescence plays here an important role, as the problem of choice of a profession becomes “an affective centre of the living situation” at that exact time. Researchresults. Competitiveness of a specialist becomes one of the priorities of improving the system of professional education in Russia and the most important criterion of its quality. This competitiveness includes not only the intimate knowledge of a profession, understanding of related areas of activity, readiness to practice the chosen profession effectively on a level with the highest world standards but also a high level of social and professional self-determination of graduates, developed self-concept of an individual. Discussion. The main characteristics of self-determination as a psychological and pedagogic phenomenon are belonging to a subject, procedurality, consciousness, self-sufficiency.Conclusion. Professional self-determination is an activity of a person (a component of personal self-determination) which is carried out during social development and maturity and, if necessary, adjusted with the help of a specially organized interference – career-guidance, teaching and educational process, theoretical and practical work.
