practices that consist of representation, identity and social relationships, so it is closely related to the context beyond discourse. One of the Catatan Najwa TV Programs entitled “Trias Koruptika” indicates the ideology in the text affected by the social context when the record was created. This study aims to see the construction of ideology and social context behind the writing of the text. This research is qualitative descriptive research. A theory used is a critical analysis of Norman Fairclough’s perspective that includes analysis in three dimensions: analysis of language text, discourse practice, and socio-cultural practice. The results showed that in text analysis, Catatan Najwa voiced disappointment, criticism and built a negative representation of three government institutions due to a corruption case. In the practice of discussion, the ideology can be conveyed and accepted well by society. As for the analysis of socio-cultural practices, the issue of corruption conducted by the supreme court judge and other corruption cases in 2013 had a major role in creating Catatan Najwa: “Trias Koruptika”.

Thyaf. This research implemented a descriptive qualitative method with Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis model, including three dimensions of the text, discourse practice, and socio-cultural practice. The law No. 1 of 1974 concerning marriages annunciates that the success of marriages conducted must be by their religion and beliefs, in addition to being valid and approved by the state, therefore marriages must be approved by those invited. However, in reality, some people deviate from marriage registration requirements. The cause is not only lack of people's awareness to register a marriage, also driven by the difficulty to obtain permission to do polygamy, thus those who want to do polygamy prefer sirri polygamy. The awareness of how important the marriage registration is will only arise if in the future there is an interest in dealing with the law. These things encourage someone to ask for marriage isbat upon the sirri polygamy in the Religious Court. Therefore, marriage isbat upon Sirri polygamy will cause positive and negative effects in its implementation. To discuss the positive and negative effects of sirri polygamy marriage, the researcher uses normative juridical research methods with qualitative descriptive research analysis. The results showed that from a positive perspective, marriage is required for Sirri marriage to get a Legal Guarantee (Article 6 Paragraph 2 KHI). Since with the stipulation of Sirri polygamy, candidates of Sirri polygamy have a basis to get a marriage book (Article 7 Paragraph 1 KHI). As a result, there is an increase regarding the social status in the community that was once Sirri has now become official. Besides, the changes occur in the status of children as well as rights in shared assets and inheritance before the law. While from the negative side, if the Sirri polygamy is granted and/or the marriage is accepted, it means those who has deviated the law are approved and justified. The indirect impact is the assertion of values that must be issued by the provisions regarding the requirements of polygamy. Therefore, based on SEMA No. 3 of 2018, the Supreme Court no longer gives the permission to ratify Sirri polygamy.

Preserving dignity during the dying process requires reviewing the roles of those involved in the treatment, care methods and decision-making. This article examines the participation and responsibility assigned to nurses regarding decision-making in the final stages of life, as laid out in the Rights to and Guarantee of Dignity for the Individual During the Process of Death Act. This text has been analysed on the levels of socio-cultural practice and discourse practice, using the critical discourse analysis methodology. The results show that, although the law is another result of the social trend of patient empowerment, the responsibility of the nurses is not recognised, and they are left out of the decision-making process in the final stages of life.

This article explores the social distribution of involvement in highbrow culture in light of three issues being discussed in cultural sociology. One is that highbrow cultural orientation is an indicator of cultural capital or of social status. A second, the ‘meltdown scenario’, suggests that not only the popularity of highbrow activities, but also their distinctiveness, has decreased among younger cohorts in comparison to older cohorts. A third deals with the ‘feminization’ of highbrow culture. These issues are empirically addressed in contemporary Finland using nationally representative survey data. Highbrow culture is measured in three dimensions of cultural practices – knowledge, taste and participation – covering four different fields: music, literature, cinema and the visual arts. The results support all three arguments: First, education and occupational class are important social determinants of involvement in highbrow culture in Finland. Second, younger age cohorts show less interest in highbrow culture than do older Finns. Third, women tend to be more involved in highbrow culture than men. The results indicate considerable stability across the measures of highbrow culture and cultural fields. Social determinants of knowledge and cinema, however, are different from those in other dimensions and fields.

Cultural practice is a kind of expression and reflection of real livelihood into human mind and experience, is a set of knowledge, values, faiths and social standards constructed by the whole community; therefore, it contains the rhythm and breath of life and can be changed to meet the demands. Regarding socialenvironment, the communities always keep going on the processes of developing and diversifying their culture through acculturation, exchange and localization, which finally constructs the social norms, goals and driving forces for their advancement. Among various approaches and methodologies, the change in  empowerment in cultural practices actively offers the optimized values in functional standardization and implementation. The final value is undoubtedly the social capital. This research is to investigate the introduction, development, change and empowerment of the Chinese-rooted Guan Gong belief in Vietnam, through which emphasizes the process and nature of the cult during the deep absorption in Vietnamese history of anti-foreign invasions throughout the last two centuries, and enriches local values of a characteristic belief and a symbolic icon of multicultural exchanges in Vietnam, especially in the Southern region. Thispaper applies the theories of deconstruction and empowerment under cultural studies perspective in order to analyze and explain the processes of  deconstruction, restructuring and empowerment in the cult of Guan Gong in Southern Vietnam as well as extract the regular principle of cultural exchanges locally.

This paper focuses on the moral reasoning of Ashaninka leaders about the burning of witches, a cultural practice that has received scant attention from intercultural scholars. We first contextualize burning witches as a cultural practice of the Ashaninka people. Then, based on qualitative interviews, we present the experience of six Ashaninka leaders with witchcraft and witchcraft accusations, as well as their moral reasoning about the social mechanisms that the Ashaninka people have traditionally used to control evil sorcery. The participants are three men and three women from the Ucayali and Junín regions in Peru’s Amazon basin. Finally, we discuss intercultural moral education and the need to analyze the reasons behind cultural practices in order to understand the rationality and reasonableness of others.
