Effect of Tylvalosin on Blood Parameters in Healthy Broiler Chickens

To evaluate the effects of Tylvalosin on blood parameters in healthy broiler chickens, twenty broiler chicks (Ross 308) aged 21 days old and weight 600-800 gm was divided into two equal groups, the first one was control group (G1) and the second one was treated group (G2). G1 dosed with 1ml/kg of body weight of normal saline while G2 dosed with 25mg/Kg of body weight of Tylvalosin. Blood samples were collected with EDTA tubes after 4 days of treatment. The results showed significant decrease in total WBCs counts in G2 treated group as compared with control group (G1), also the eosinophil showed a significant decrease in G2 as compared with G1, while other parameters didn’t show any significant differences. In conclusion, WBCs were decreased after treatment with tylvalosin.

AbstractA total of 608 Ross 308 broiler chickens of both sexes were studied to determine the effect of Lactococcus lactis 847 bacteria compared to probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus delbruecki 838 and Lactobacillus plantarum 837 on body weight, feed consumption and conversion, mortality, dressing percentage, postmortem carcass traits, composition of breast muscle tissue, and blood plasma traits. Feeding diets with bacteria to chickens did not increase body weight at 42 days of age or improve feed conversion compared to control chickens. It significantly reduced chicken mortality compared to the control group, from 3.3% to 1.4% (P<0.01). No significant differences were found in feed consumption and conversion. There were no significant differences in the weight of carcasses and their parts. Lactococcus lactis 847 and Lactobacillus plantarum 837 bacteria significantly increased dressing percentage (P<0.05). Lactococcus lactis 847 significantly increased liver weight (P<0.05). No significant differences were observed in carcass fatness, and in the dry matter, protein and fat content of breast muscles. Feeding diet with Lactobacillus plantarum 837 to chickens significantly decreased plasma triglyceride levels, and feeding diet with Lactobacillus delbruecki 838 and Lactobacillus plantarum 837 significantly decreased the level of high-density cholesterol (P<0.05). In conclusion, Lactococcus lactis 847 bacteria in diet significantly reduce losses due to digestive disorders while having no effect on the quantity and proportion of saleable cuts in the carcass, the composition of breast muscles and basic blood parameters.

To conduct the influence of salinomycin & anticoccidial vaccine onpathological changes in intestine of broiler chickens experimentalinfected with Eimeria spp. By using 40 broiler chicks divided randomlyto four groups( 10 chicks of each group ) First group vaccinated withanticoccidial vaccine (coccivac) at 8 days of age in drinking water whilethe second group feeded salinomycin in concentration 60ppm from oneday old ,the third group left non vaccinated nor given salinomycin as acontrol group at(26 days )of age chicks in that three groups infected withdifferent species of Eimeria spp .with high dose (744x74³) Oocyst /chickby group inoculation & the fourth group consider negative control notvaccinated or treated .At (33 days)of chicks age all the chicks were killedfor measuring lesion score of intestine which their results +1.75 , +3, +4with mortality rate 0%,10%,20% for vaccinated ,salinomycine treated &control groups respectively then took samples for Histopathologicalchanges the results pointed high pathological changes in intestine ofpositive control group with sever necrosis & degeneration of epitheliawith sever tissue damage companied with maturation first & secondgeneration sporozoite in the endothelial layer of intestine. While thepathological changes was less sever in salinomycine treated group withnecrosis & degeneration of epithelial layers accompanied with exist ofsporozoite in endothelial layer of intestine . while the vaccinated groupshowed no clear pathological changes in intestine except hyperplasia ofglobal cells & infiltration of lymphocytes cells in the layers of intestine ,it was concluded that the vaccine which was given to chicks provide goodprotection & decrease dangerous of coccidiosis infection .

The experiment was conducted on “Cobb-500” broiler chicks to study the effects of Curcumazedoaria (shoti) on growth performances and haemato-biochemical parameters. A total of twentybroilers chicks (16 days old) were randomly divided into five equal groups (n=4). Three groups ofbroilers fed shoti powder at the rate of 10%; 20%; 30% (w/w) with other ingredients for 22 days.Broilers chicks fed on maize-soybean were considered as positive control while non-protein controlwas regarded as negative control. The results showed that body weight of broilers fed 10% and 20%shoti meal grew very close to those of control (maize-soybean) group. After having completed thefeeding trial, the birds were sacrificed to collect blood sample for and biochemical analysis .Weightsof different organs and length of intestine were also measured. Results showed that decreaseddressed weight, weight of skin and liver were found in 30% shoti treated group compared to proteincontrol group. Intestinal weight was highest in 30% shoti treated group but length was similar to theprotein control group. Total erythrocytes count, hemoglobin content and PCV value were founddecreased in shoti treated group compared to protein control group but ESR value was highest in10% shoti treated group. Total cholesterol was found to be decreased in the birds fed on shoticompared to protein control and significantly higher than non-protein control group. Triglyceride valuedecreased in 10% shoti treated group compared to protein and non-protein control group. IncreasedHDL value was found in 10% shoti treated group compared to control groups and 20 % and 30 %shoti treated groups. Result of this experiment showed that body weight of birds significantly (p<0.05)increased in all shoti treated groups. Further investigations are necessary by using differentpercentages of shoti and other shoti type feed to determine the effects of this feed supplement onanimal’s physiology. Res. Agric., Livest. The purpose of this study was evaluation of ethanolic turmeric extract (ETE; Curcuma longa) effect on overall performance including body weight (BW), body weight gain (BWG), feed intake and feed conversion ratio (FCR) weekly and cumulative for a period of 4 weeks with 300 commercial broiler chicks (Ross strain). These chicks were randomly divided into four groups with three replicates of 15 chicks in each replicate. In group A, chickens were fed a basal diet, in group B, chickens were fed a basal diet plus 3 ppm productive aflatoxin. In group C, chickens consumed a basal diet plus 0.05% ETE and in group D, chickens received a basal diet with 0.05% ETE plus 3 ppm productive aflatoxin. Aflatoxin production by Aspergillus parasiticus (PTTC NO:1850) in maize was according to the Shotwell method. The results revealed that there were no significant differences in BW, BWG and FCR between groups fed turmeric at 0.05% and the control group. The supplement of ETE in a diet containing 3 ppm aflatoxin can significantly improve performance indices compared with the group that consumed aflatoxin alone. In conclusion, our results suggest that turmeric extract ( Curcuma longa) can provide protection against the negative effects of aflatoxin on performance of broiler chickens.

Effects of different available commercial probiotics on growth performance and blood parameters were evaluated. To achieve the objectives, a total of 198 one-day-old Hubbard Isa Starbro broiler chicks were raised over 28 days. Chicks were wing-banded, weighed individually and randomly allocated into six equally major groups each having three replicates. Broilers of group T1 (control group) were fed the starter and finisher diets. The broilers of groups T2 was fed the control starter and finisher diets supplemented with antibiotic and groups T3-T5 were fed 4 different commercially available probiotics (T3-Guardizen-M, T4-Protexin and T5-Poultry star sol in drinking water. Weekly body weight, feed consumption and feed conversion were recorded during experimental period. Blood parameters at 4 weeks of age including packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin (Hb), total protein, albumin, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL), uric acid, cholesterol, glucose, intestinal microflora, pH and color properties of meat were determined. All birds were kept under similar environmental, managerial and hygienic conditions. Probiotic supplementation significantly increased the body weight and daily weight gain of broiler chicks at 28 days (p<0.05). Improved feed conversion was noticed in birds fed a diet supplemented with probiotic. The effects of probiotics on carcass and some internal organs were measured and results shows that feeding broilers with probiotics have significant effects (P < 0.05) on dressed carcass weight, abdominal fat, breast, thigh and liver while it appeared insignificant on gizzard (P> 0.05). The lower percent of abdominal fat and the higher percent of dressed carcass, breast and thigh were observed in experimental probiotic(s) groups. pH and meat color did not affect among treatments. There was lower mortality rate in probiotics among groups. Moreover, there was no significant change for Hb, PCV, total protein and albumin concentrations among different groups. Also, total protein, lipids and albumin concentrations were not affected by probiotic(s) supplementation. In addition, different probiotics showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) in triglycerides, cholesterol and uric acid concentration compared to control group. Birds supplemented with probiotics had higher number of lactobacilli but lower number of colibacilli compared to the control. It can be concluded that use of selected commercial probiotic(s) resulted in improved growth performance and carcass yields, and reduced serum cholesterol and uric acid in broiler chickens. Moreover, supplementation of the probiotic(s) to broilers had no detrimental effect on their growth performance and blood parameters. Therefore, usage of these probiotic(s) bacteria as antibiotic alternatives in poultry nutrition can be recommended. Progressive Agriculture 29 (4): 359-370, 2018

This investigation aimed to study the effect of adiponectin hormone on serum lipoproteins levels in female rats. For this purpose, thirteen female rats were divided into treated and control groups. Each animal in the treated group received a daily intraperitoneal 25microgram does of adiponectin dissolved in 0.2ml normal saline for fifteen respective days. In the same time, each animal in the control group received a daily intraperitoneal 0.2ml normal saline for fifteen respective days. The animal has fasted for 12 hours after last dose administration. Blood samples were collected, and the sera obtained. Analysis showed a significant increase in the serum HDL level and a significant decrease in LDL concentration. AP < 0.05was considered significant.

A present study was carried out to investigate the effects of Estradiol benzoate 2 (mg/ml) hormone doses on the body weight and blood picture of Turkeys birds through studying the following parameters: body weight, RBC count , total WBC, MCV, MCH, MCHC, and platelet PLT. Forty growing Turkeys (30 days age) weighting between (250-350)gm were randomly divided into four groups (ten each group) treated as follows: Turkeys in the first group were injected with single dose of Estradiol benzoate (1 mg) on the first day of experiment (30 day post hatching) subcutaneously in the neck and termed as G1 group, the Turkeys in the 2nd group (G2) were injected Estradiol benzoate (2 mg) on the first day of experiment subcutaneously in the neck while the Turkeys in the third group (G3) were injected Estradiol benzoate (0.3 ml) at the first day of experiment subcutaneously in the neck the fourth group (G4) served as control, body weight was determined on (0, 15 and 30) days of experiment and blood samples were collected on 15th and 30th day of the experiment from groups to evaluate the blood parameters. Results revealed a significant increase (P<0.05) in body weight of G1, G2 and G3 in a comparison with control group at (15 and 30) days of experiment. Furthermore, in comparison among treated groups G2 and G3 also showed a significant increase (P<0.05) in the body weight as compared with G1 group during periods. Moreover, data revealed that all treated groups showed non-significant differences in blood parameters experiment as compared with control group.

, , , , and Antibiotics as growth promoters in poultry diets are currently restricted, so other feed additives, such as prebiotics and probiotics, have been suggested as an antibiotics alternative to improve the performance and gut health of poultry. The current experiment was conducted to study the effects of adding Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) as a potential replacement for an antibiotic on productive performance, nutrient digestibility, some blood parameters, and caecal microbiota of broiler chickens. For conducting the current research experiment, a total of 180 one–day old Ross broiler chicks were randomly divided into one control group fed a basal diet and four dietary treatments with six replicates for each treatment. The treatment groups were fed a basal diet supplemented with different levels of MOS 0.5, 1, and 2 g/Kg diet and Lincomycin 4.4 mg/Kg diet during 35 days of the feeding trial. With exception of the growing period, the group fed a basal diet supplemented with 2 g MOS/Kg feed had considerably higher body weight and weight gain, while having the lowest feed consumption and best feed conversion ratio compared to the other treatment groups, during all experimental periods. Moreover, dietary supplementation of MOS resulted in a significant decrease in the counts of caecal E. coli and Enterococcus, while Lactobacillus and Yeast bacteria counts were significantly higher, compared to non-supplemented groups. Broiler chicks having a 2 g MOS/kg diet recorded lower values of cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), urea, and liver enzymes, including Aspartate transaminase (AST) and Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), while they recorded significantly higher high-density lipoprotein (HDL), compared to the other experimental groups. Group treated with MOS 2 g/Kg feed improved digestibility of crude protein, ether extract, crude fiber, nitrogen-free extract, and organic matter, compared to the control group, Additionally, MOS supplementation also increased the intestinal villi length, width, and crypt depth and decreased intestinal inflammation, compared to the control group. In conclusion, supplementation of MOS at 2 g/kg diet improved growth performance, digestibility, and blood parameters without having adverse effects on the intestine of broiler chickens, comparable to the Lincomycin.

The present research was carried out on indigenous beef cattle to study the effect of iodine formulations on body weight and hematology by using iodide salt and Lugol's iodine irrespective of feed and management in dairy farm, Bangladesh Agricultural University in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology, Bangladesh Agricultural University for the period of 2 months from August to September 2005. A total of 20 male bull of 2 years old were selected, weighed ranged from 80-100kg and randomly divided into four groups as A, B, C and D. Group A was treated with non- iodide salt @ 25mg/ kg b.wt, group B treated with iodide salt @ 25mg/ kg b.wt, group C treated with IV injection of 2 % Lugol's iodine @ 10 mg/kg b. wt and group D were kept as control. After treatment, blood parameters and body weight were recorded on 30th and 60th day. Highest weight gain was recorded in Lugol's iodine treated group, about 7.09 % for weight gain compared with the control group. The result reveals that use of iodine formulation is an effective way of increasing meat production and weight gain in indigenous beef cattle of Bangladesh. This work was conducted on six groups of day-old Cobb-400 broiler chicks to study the ameliorative effect of febuxostat on gout induced model. Clinical signs were noticed in birds of diclofenac control group II and low dose febuxostat treated group IV. During the study, 27.77% and 22.22% mortality were observed in diclofenac control group II and low dose febuxostat treated group IV, respectively. Febuxostat control group III and febuxostat (medium and high dose) treated groups V and VI had no mortality. Reduction in body weight gain and feed intake was observed in diclofenac control group II as compared to without treatment control group I at the end of every week during the experimental period of 21 days. Reduction in body weight gain and feed intake was observed in low dose febuxostat treated group IV as compared to control group at the end of 1st week. The average FCR was higher in diclofenac control group II (2.54) and low dose febuxostat treated group IV (2.14) as compared to control group (2.00). Kidney: body weight ratio was significantly high in diclofenac control group II as compared to control group at the end of experiment. Gross and microscopic lesions of visceral gout were mainly observed in chicks that died during the experiment from diclofenac control group II and low dose febuxostat treated group IV. The overall lesions showed that diclofenac was nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic in nature. Febuxostat at lower than the therapeutic dose did not prevent nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity caused by diclofenac leading to visceral gout. Febuxostat control III and febuxostat (medium and high dose) treated groups V and VI did not reveal any pathomorphological changes. Judicious use of febuxostat is safe in poultry birds between the limit of 4 mg/kg and 6 mg/kg
