Rumput laut ini merupakan sumber komoditi laut yang popular dalam perdagangan dan menjadi sumber pendapatan masyarakat pesisir dan negara. G. verrucosa merupakan salah satu jenis rumput laut yang termasuk komoditi ekspor. Budidaya G. verrucosa masih dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan sehingga pertumbuhannya terhambat dan kualitas panen menurun. Upaya peningkatan produksi dengan hasil pertumbuhan yang baik dilakukan pemberian nutrien. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan pupuk cair dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan, kandungan klorofil dan kadar air G. verrucosa. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret - April 2020 dilaksanakan secara eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, perlakuan perbedaan konsentrasi penambahan pupuk cair tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat basah G. verrucosa, perlakuan kontrol (tanpa penambahan pupuk) menghasilkan kandungan klorofil paling tinggi dan perlakuan penambahan pupuk cair dengan konsentrasi 6 ml/L menghasilkan kadar air paling tinggi yaitu 46,21 g, penambahan pupuk cair tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan, kandungan klorofil dan kadar air G. verrucosa. Seaweeds are a source of marine commodities which is popular in trade and is a source of income for coastal communities and the state. G.verrucosa is one type of seaweed which is an export commodity. G.verrucosa cultivation is still influenced by environmental factors so that growth is stunted and the quality of the harvest decreases. The efforts to increase production with good growth results are carried out by providing nutrients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding liquid fertilizer with different concentrations on the growth, chlorophyll content and moisture content of G.verrucosa. This research was conducted in March - April 2020 carried out in an experimental laboratory using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method. Based on the results of the study, the treatment of different concentrations of addition of liquid fertilizer have no significant effect on the wet weight of G.verrucosa, the control treatment (without the addition of fertilizer) produced the highest chlorophyll content and the addition of liquid fertilizer with a concentration of 6 ml / L produced the highest water content, namely 46,21 g, the addition of liquid fertilizer did not significantly affect the growth, chlorophyll content and moisture content of G.verrucosa.

Mustard Vegetable is an economically valuable vegetable crop, so that community demand for vegetables is increasing. In an effort to meet market needs, mustard production needs to be increased, one of which is by improving the quality of planting media through fertilization. The use of liquid organic fertilizer is faster absorption by plants than solid organic fertilizer. One of the basic ingredients of liquid fertilizer can be using the urine of cattle and horses. This type of research is a pure experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD). The study used 4 treatments 3 replications using liquid organic fertilizer from cow urine and 4 treatments 3 replications using liquid organic fertilizer from horse urine with fertilizer concentrations of 25%, 50% and 100%, with research parameters namely plant height, number of leaves, length leaf, leaf width and wet weight. The technique of data collection is done by observation. The data in this study were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) One Way using SPSS 14 for Windows. The results of research on liquid fertilizer from the urine of cattle and horses significantly affect the rate of growth of mustard plants. The mustard plant has a faster growth rate using liquid fertilizer from cow urine compared to horse urine.

Abstract: Coccoloba gigantifolia is recently described species, with an area of restricted occurrence and threatened with extinction, whose great ornamental potential is due to the size of its leaves and the architecture of the plant. The objective of this study was to evaluate the viability of its seeds under different water contents and storage temperatures, through two experiments. The first one used a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments (drying periods: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days) and four replications. The second experiment used a CRD in a 2 (storage temperatures: 8.0 ± 1.2 and 19.5 ± 0.7 °C) x 3 (storage periods: 1, 2 and 4 months) factorial scheme, in addition to a control treatment (without storage), with four replications. The seeds have a recalcitrant behavior, as they are sensitive to desiccation, with a marked reduction in viability with moisture content below 19.5%. Storage at temperatures of 8.0 and 19.5 °C did not maintain the physiological quality of the seeds, with 25.2% water, and the largest losses were found at a temperature of 8.0 oC.

SUMMARY This study was performed to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of paprika and marigold extracts in sorghum-based rations on the productivity and egg quality of laying hens. One hundred sixty laying hens were distributed in a completely randomized design in five treatments and in a factorial arrangement (2 × 2 + 1), one control ration based on corn, two levels of paprika extract (0 and 6 g/kg diet), and two levels of marigold extract (0 and 1 g/kg diet) in sorghum-based rations. There was no effect (P > 0.05) of the treatments on the weight, specific weight, and Haugh unit of the eggs and productive performance, but the inclusion of paprika extract resulted in eggs with lower egg pH. The interaction between the control group and the factorial was significant (P < 0.05) to the laying rate, egg mass, and yolk color, whose values were lower with sorghum-based diets with no pigment compared to control treatment. The interaction between the paprika and marigold extracts was significant increasing the height (P < 0.03) and color (P < 0.0001) of the yolk when paprika extract was used, with or without marigold extract. Marigold extract inclusion reduced the percentage (P < 0.02) and thickness (P < 0.01) of the eggshell. As conclusion, the inclusion of paprika extract in sorghum-based diets for laying hens is viable for improving the egg quality.

Sargassum polycystum is one of seaweed what be able to produce alginate. Cultivation development intensively use common cultivation  methods and planting age of growth season properly which can be able to produce good growth and highest alginate. This study is used an experimental method. The basic design used for the content of alginate S. polycystum use completely randomized design (CRD) with Split Plot Design which repeated 3 times. The main plot of this study is a method of cultivation are included by floatting method and bottom method and Subplot is age after planting are consist of 7, 14, 21 and 28 days. The cultivation result of S. polycystum by bottom method with 28 days, showed the highest growth rate about 17.38 g.day-1, while the lowest growth were founded on bottom method on age 7 days about 3.42 g.day-1. The Results of analysis of variance showed that the interaction of cultivation method and planting age have significant effect on the subtances of alginate from S. polycystum. The highest alginate are produced by bottom method of planting age on 28 days about 58.33%. The Lowest alginate are produced by floating and bottom methods of planting age on 7 days about 11.67%. Quality of alginate farmed bottom methods of color is more yellowish than the cultivation of the floating method.

Pork is one of the most consumption types of meat in the East Nusa Tenggara region.. Moringa leaf are one part of the plant which is known to have antimicrobial compounds.The aimof this research was to determine the influence of Moringa leaf infusion as a natural preservative to the quality of pork.This research is an experimental laboratory research and used a total of 48 samples of thigh pork (Biceps femoris). This research used a completely randomized design with factorial pattern. The first factor was concentration of infusion Moringa leaf consist of 0% (K0), 5% (K1), 10% (K2), and 15% (K3) and the second factor was time of storage consist of  0,6, 12, and 18 hours with 3 replications. The parameters of porkquality that have been examined: color, texture, odor, value in the Eber test, pH value, and total plate count (TPC) value.The results showed that the addition of Moringa leaf infusion change the color and odor. The Eber test shows the K3 group can last up to 18 hours. There was no significant effect of infusion concentration (P> 0.05) on the pH value and there was a very significant effect on the time of storage (P<0.01) on the pH value. There was a significant effect of infusion concentration (P<0.05) and very significant effect on the time of storage (P <0.01) on the TPC value. The value of TPC in the K3 group was below of the Standar Nasional Indonesia contamination limit for laying less than 12 hours at room temperature.

Reduced fat mayonnaise has the disadvantage of destabilization of emulsion. Emulsion destabilization that occurs is the separation of oil and water. Pumpkin flour is used to increase the viscosity and stability of the emulsion. The objective of this study was to determine the best percentage of the use of pumpkin flour in reduced fat mayonnaise based on pH, emulsion stability, moisture content, and sensory evaluation. The material used in this research was mayonnaise made from egg yolk, canola flower oil, vinegar, pumpkin flour as a fat replacer carbohidrates based, and other optional ingredients. The method used was an experimental laboratory with a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of without the use of pumpkin as a control, the use of pumpkin flour 2%, 4%, and 6% of the total oil used. The variables measured were pH, emulsion stability, moisture content, and sensory evaluation. The results showed that the use of pumpkin flour on mayonnaise gave highly significant effect on pH, stability emulsion, moisture content and increased panelists preferences. The conclusion of the study that using 6% pumpkin flour produced the best reduced-fat mayonnaise.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of the Ripa enriched with urea, yeast and sugar cane molasses, fermented and subjected to the drying process. Using as parameters: moisture content, Brix, pH, acidity and protein content. We used a completely randomized design with ten replications, two treatments and one control. The model included non-fermented (RNFM) and fermented (RFM) treatments of the variety of Rosinha cassava. Fermentation was performed during 132 hours under ambient conditions, with a 10% yeast treatment (w/V), 4% Urea (w/V) and 20% molasses (w/V) and the other 70 ml of distilled water. Regarding the moisture content of the material after the dehydration period, mean values between 46.42% and 58.33% were observed. The Brix degree of the water treatment and the control samples did not differ, however, differed from the treatment urea + molasses + yeast, which presented the highest values of this parameter. The pH averages ranged from 4.49 to 7.85, differing statistically. Titratable acidity ranged from 1.760 to 14.040. A considerable gain of crude protein was observed in the treatment urea + molasses + yeast, which was statistically higher than the others.

<p>The main problem of chicken egg is its weaknesses, such as perishable, therefore it has a short storage life. Some natural preservative among others tea leaf can maintain the quality of egg. This study aimed to determine the concentration of tea solution to maintain the quality of egg. The materials used in this research were eggs, local tea (bandulan brand), and hot water. Eggs are soaked for 2 days with concentration of tea solution consists of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50% and stored for 21 days. Parameters observed were egg weight shrinkage, yolk index, albumen index and pH. The experiment designed by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Parameters observed were egg weight shrinkage, yolk index, eggwhite index and pH. The data were analyzed by ANOVA continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The research results showed that the decline in interior quality of eggs was higher in the control treatment (without the tea solution). It is found that there is significant different between the two treatment of 10% and 50% with parameter of albumen indeks.</p><p> </p><p><strong>PENINGKATAN KUALITAS TELUR AYAM RAS DENGAN PERENDAMAN DALAM LARUTAN TEH</strong></p><p>Masalah utama dari telur ayam adalah sifatnya yang mudah rusak, sehingga waktu simpannya relatif pendek. Beberapa bahan pengawet alami diantaranya daun teh dapat mempertahankan kualitas telur ayam ras. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh perendaman telur dalam larutan teh konsumsi terhadap kualitas interior telur ayam ras. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu telur ayam ras, teh bandulan dan air panas. Telur direndam selama 2 hari dengan konsentrasi larutan teh terdiri dari 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, dan 50% dan disimpan selama 21 hari. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap penyusutan berat telur, indeks kuning telur, indeks putih telur, dan pH telur. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan perbedaan antar perlakuan diuji dengan uji<em> Duncan’s Multiple Range Test</em> (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyusutan berat telur lebih tinggi pada perlakuan kontrol (tanpa larutan teh). Diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata antar perlakuan konsentrasi larutan teh 10% dan 50% dengan parameter indeks putih telur.<strong> </strong></p>

Limbah hasil kegiatan industri dan pertanian memberikan efek negatif pada ekosistem perairan laut, seperti logam berat Cu. mempunyai potensi toksisitas yang tinggi terhadap lingkungan perairan. Dinding sel Gracilaria gigas memiliki polisakarida yang mampu menyerap logam Cu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan daya absorpsi Gracilaria gigas terhadap logam Cu dalam  media pemeliharaan dengan salinitas berbeda. . Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental  laboratoris, menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dan 3 pengulangan setiap perlakuan. Perlakuan menggunakan 5 tingkat salinitas  yaitu 10, 20, 25, 30, dan 40 ‰ dengan  pemeliharaan selama 28 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan salinitas yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh terhadap penyerapan logam berat Cu oleh Gracilaria gigas (p>0,05). Konsentrasi logam berat Cu dalam media pemeliharaan tertinggi pada perlakuan E (40 ‰) dengan rerata nilai 0,11; 0,10; 0,13; dan 0,17 ppm.  Kapasitas penyerapan logam Cu oleh Gracilaria gigas tertinggi terdapat pada hari ke 7 perlakuan A (25 ‰) dengan nilai rerata 0,007 mg/g dan efektivitas penyerapan sebesar 82,77 %. Berat basah G. gigas tertinggi terjadi pada hari ke 7 dengan rerata nilai A (25 ‰) 227,11 g; B (10 ‰) 240,55 g; C (20 ‰) 236,44 g; D (30 ‰) 221,44 g; dan E (40 ‰) 203,77 g. Berat mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR)  tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan E (40 ‰), yaitu -34,22 g dan -0,70% per hari.  Semakin tinggi salinitas, maka pertumbuhan G. gigas akan semakin rendah sehingga akan mempengaruhi daya absorpsi logam Cu. Waste from industrial and agricultural activities has a negative effect on marine aquatic ecosystems, such as heavy metals Cu has a high potential for toxicity to the aquatic environment. The cell wall of G. gigas has polysaccharides which are able to absorb Cu metal. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of G. gigas absorption to Cu metal in maintenance media with different salinity. . The method used is an experimental laboratory, using a completely randomized design (CRD) and 3 repetitions of each treatment. The treatment uses 5 levels of salinity namely 10, 20, 25, 30, and 40 ‰ with maintenance for 28 days. The results showed that different salinity treatments did not affect the absorption of heavy metal Cu by G.gigas (p> 0.05). The highest concentration of heavy metal Cu in the maintenance media at treatment E (40 ‰) with a mean value of 0.11; 0.10; 0.13; and 0.17 ppm. The highest absorption capacity of Cu by G. gigas was on the 7th day of treatment A (25 ‰) with an average value of 0.007 mg / g and the effectiveness of absorption of 82.77%. The highest wet weight of G. gigas occurred on the 7th day with an average value of A (25 227) 227.11 g; B (10 ‰) 240.55 g; C (20 ‰) 236.44 g; D (30 ‰) 221.44 g; and E (40 203) 203.77 g. The highest absolute weight and specific growth rate (SGR) was found in treatment E (40 ‰), which was -34.22 g and -0.70% per day. The higher the salinity, the growth of  G. gigas will be lower so that it will affect the absorption of Cu metal.

Shallot is one an important of vegetable comodity, both in economic value and nutrition ingredients. One of an effort to support the increasing of shallot yield with plantation technology by giving organic liquid fertilizer. The experiment we studied to find out the effect of organic liquid fertilizer with different consentration on yield of shallot. The experiment used Completely Randomized Design consisted 6 consentration of organic liquid fertilizer 0 ml/L (P0), 1 ml/L (P1), 2 ml/L (P2), 3 ml/L (P3), 4 ml/L (P4), 5 ml/L (P5) with 4 replication. The results show that consentration of 4 ml/L organic liquid fertilizer is increas the number of bulb and consentratin of 5 ml/L is increas in tuber wet weight.
