The family represents a fundamental social unit, consisting of individuals connected by marital and parental bonds. The relations between family members are determined by traditions handed down by means of upbringing, which, in turn, is based on shared emotions and attitudes subjected to the laws and moral order of nature. The prerogatives recognised by the family are also heavily affected by religious axioms. Generally speaking, the family represents the cultural legacy of whole generations falling under the influence of numerous factors, each of them being a link in the family’s history. The analysis of the function of the family as a fundamental social group and of parental responsibility indicates that the functions of the family are more extensive than the functions of parental responsibility. This is because the functions of the family are fulfilled by all its members, adults and minors alike. Those functions performed by adult family members are subject to a number of norms included in the Family and Guardianship Code. However, the family’s desired performance positively affects fulfilment of parental responsibility.

The family is the smallest social group, consisting of father, mother and child. The family is the first social group where individuals are to learn many important and fundamental things through parenting and fostering parents and other family members. Parents have an important role for the child's soul growth and in laying the foundations of the child's personality, because parents are educators, guides, and protectors for their children. Therefore, parental guidance for children must be biblical. One of them is to overcome Permissive Parenting problems that often occur in the household. Thus, Proverbs 22:15 is considered very appropriate to be the basis for answering the errors of parenting that have been common in Christian families. In this paper, the author will discuss the meaning of the Educational Stick in Parenting based on Proverbs 22:15.

The results of the study found that the responsibility of religious education of children in the family of Tablighi Jama'ah differed in terms of several conditions, namely first, when parents were not going to khuruj where both parents were responsible for children's education; secondly, when the father goes khuruj, then the mother is responsible for everything including children's education; third, when both parents go khuruj, then the responsibility of the child is left to other family members such as grandparents or their first adult children; and fourth, when the child goes to khuruj, where parents are responsible for children's religious education both mother and father. The pattern of the religious education in the Tablighi Jama'ah family in the village of Bolang is formed from several similarities held in the implementation of religious education, one of which is the daily activity that is carried out by the Tablighi Jama'at family. Al-Qur'an becomes one of the material given to children in the ta'lim. Children are taught how to read the Qur'an and memorize short letters such as Surat al-Falaq, al-Ikhlas, and so on. In addition to al-Qur'an, in this ta'lim there is a special study in the Tablighi Jama'ah, which is reading the book of fadhilah ‘amal, and the last is mudzakarah six characteristics.

Canada has an aging population with the fastest growing age groups (80 and 45-64 years old) vulnerable to age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Caregiving responsibilities often fall to the family members of the afflicted without much attention and consideration being placed on the information needs of these caregivers. We call for a better understanding of these caregivers' information needs and uses by social policy makers as well as information providers.La population du Canada a tendance à vieillir considérablement, avec la hausse la plus rapide dans les groupes d’âge (80 et 45 à 64 ans). The paper deals with issues connected with the motivation of high school students to participate in activities aimed at professional creative activity and, in this context, issues of environmental influences, especially from school and the family. It is responding to some of the growing efforts of neoliberalism to over individualize creative expression and activities and completely ignore social influences. It also takes into account the cultural legacy of past generations and the sources of creative power that have taken root in society and from which individuals draw and process their inspiration. Presented within are the results of an empirical probe focused on the influence of the social environment on the creative activity of teenagers. The paper follows the relations to the existing body of knowledge on the relationship between social environment and creativity, with an effort to capture the social conditionality of creative performances—to capture their roots. The results of the probe have confirmed the initial hypothesis that the creative efforts of secondary school students taking part in vocational training is based on the social background of the family and school. However, the family influence on the students’ creativity is not as significant as one would expect. It is the indirect effect of the family environment that has a larger influence.

This chapter draws from a qualitative study of incarcerated men to investigate the social processes and interactions between both correctional authorities and family members that inform their sense of belonging and legitimacy. It reveals that prison visitation rooms present a complex environment in which incarcerated men have access to discreet periods of visibility and relevance to their family members and the broader community. There are, however, several precarious aspects to these processes. The family members who are central to enhancing men’s visibility and legitimacy are primarily women from economically disadvantaged, racial, and ethnic minority groups, resulting in their own marginalization, which is compounded within prison spaces. By illuminating both the challenges and opportunities of familial connections, this chapter informs a social justice framework for understanding the experiences of both incarcerated men and their family members.
