AbstractThis paper aims to show how a renewed theoretical and methodological approach to Islamic Sicily can provide new insights into the organization of the rural communities in the Trapani Mountains between the ninth and twelfth centuries. The first part is dedicated to the definition of ‘Islamic social formation’ and ‘tributary mode of production’, and to the integration of both concepts in the debate on al-Andalus, for the characterization of a medieval Islamic society. This theoretical background is indispensable for advocating the relevance of establishing comparisons between Islamic Sicily and al-Andalus. Finally, the last three sections will show how these new methodological approaches and their theoretical background can provide a historical interpretation of the archaeological record.

Climate variability imposes greater challenges on family farming and especially on rural communities in vulnerable mountainous regions such as the Andes in Latin America. Changes in rainfall patterns and fluctuations in temperatures cause a greater frequency of extreme events, increased pests, and crop diseases, which even lead to food insecurity in communities that depend on self-production for survival. This is why strategies need to be developed to face this new scenario. Two cases of adaptation experiences to the effects of climate variability in rural communities in Chile (Araucanía Region) and Colombia (Cauca Department) were analyzed on this paper. For this, a mixed methodological approach was adopted that included the analysis of climate data, socioeconomic, and productive characterization of the communities, and a characterization of adaptation practices for both cases. The results show various ways of adapting mainly to changes in the availability and access of water for the development of agriculture and for domestic use. Likewise, it is shown that in order to be successful, the measures for facing climate variability must be part of coordinated strategies under a community-based adaptation approach and not developed in isolation.

The article focuses on various scientific points of view on the definition of appellations of «approach» «methodological approach» in scientific sources. The author's interpretation of the definition of «methodological approach» is given. A number of methodological approaches are defined and their content on the formation of communicative culture of future social workers in the system of university education is given; in particular such approaches, as culturological-axiological, personality-oriented, competence, creative-activity and content-procedural. Consideration of a set of complementary methodological approaches to the formation of communicative culture of future social workers in the university education system is due to the fact that this complexity provides an opportunity at the theoretical, methodological and practical levels to build a holistic process of future social worker’s training, to highlight the main trends of it’s functioning in the formation of the personality of a social worker, in understanding it’s personal capabilities, abilities and prospects of enriching it’s own professional experience, in the formation of it’s communicative culture. Given all the above, we can say that the formation of communicative culture - a complex dynamic process, the effectiveness of which is determined by the training of future social workers in university education, based on a set of methodological approaches, which have a special role in revealing the content and nature of professional development, in understanding his personal capabilities, abilities and prospects for enriching his own professional experience. The formation of communicative culture of future social workers in the process of professional training in the system of university education is based on a set of methodological approaches, combining culturological-axiological, personality-oriented, competence, creative-activity, content-procedural approaches. The identified methodological approaches in our study are the basis for further development of conceptual provisions for the formation of communicative culture of the future social worker in the system of university education, components, criteria, etc. of this complex personal formation.

To assess the prospects of an enterprise and plan its activities, it is very important to know what assets it has, including hidden assets. Today, there is no single understanding of this concept. Some researchers attribute this to an underestimation of the company’s assets, others – to a lack of accounting for assets, or to insufficient use of assets. This is the result of applying various methodological approaches and insufficient research of this concept. On the ground of a methodological approach based on the identification of generic concepts and essential features, a generalized definition of the concept of “hidden assets” is proposed. These are assets, value of which on the company’s balance sheet is undervalued compared to their real value, or which are not reflected in the balance sheet, or which are underutilized and which are real assets, and which are capable to provide a competitive advantage or economic benefit. This definition of the concept of “hidden assets” allows to combine different existing points of view on this concept and to look at the capital of an enterprise in a broader context. The difference between the concepts of “hidden assets” and “accounted assets” from the point of view of law is considered separately. Assets that are recorded in the balance sheet belong to the enterprise based on ownership rights. As for hidden assets, as a rule, the enterprise in relation to them has the right to use only. Firstly, this applies to the leased fixed assets, human capital (use of time, knowledge and skills of specialists). In other words, the right to use is of crucial importance. In this case, the assets of the enterprise are considered as a set of rights to receive economic benefits. With such a broad view, the components of the hidden capital of an enterprise can be identified. Analysis of existing methodological approaches to the assessment of hidden assets has shown that they have significant methodological shortcomings and difficulties in applying and collecting the necessary initial data. Methodological bases for estimation of hidden assets are proposed based on the defined concept of “public value of an enterprise” as the sum of all assets used by an enterprise to create gross value added. Calculations have shown that the average share of hidden assets of Ukrainian enterprises in the period from 2012 to 2018 in the total volume of all assets is 33.7 %, and by type of economic activity from 14.3 % in construction to 70.1 % in agriculture. Hidden assets are the missing link in determining the level of capitalization of an enterprise. All other things being equal, the difference in the level of economic development of enterprises can be explained by differences in the volume and structure of their hidden assets. Hidden assets can be the key to creation of an enterprise’s development strategy.

SummaryThere is no accepted definition of what constitutes onset of antidepressant effect, and this limits evaluation of the validity of many comparative reports. In order to clarify the nature of the comparative methodology required, it is proposed that two distinct research questions are separated conceptually: 1) when do antidepressant drugs begin to clinically act? and 2) do all antidepressant drugs produce relief of symptoms in patients within a similar time period? A methodological distinction may also be made in terms of whether to assess the onset of effect of an antidepressant as having an absolute quality (“fast”) or as being fast relative to other treatments (“faster”). The choice of aim will help to define the methodological approach, the applicability of the findings and the difficulties to be addressed. Describing an antidepressant as showing a “fast” or “faster” onset of response requires that any description attempts to define (in terms that may be generalised) the nature of the comparison (faster than what?), the nature of the effect (faster to do what?) and the population in whom this effect may be expected (faster in whom?). Some details of methodological approaches are reviewed, and suggestions for study designs are made.

Managerial competencies, defined as the “underlying characteristics of an individual that have a causal relationship with effective or superior performance in the job” (Boyatzis, 1982, p. 12), are key to achievement of productive purposes in the Huila department, in Colombia. The present article, as an investigative result, seeks to identify those managerial competencies, both current and required, of the organizational leaders in the Passifloraceae productive sector in the Huila department, in Colombia. The epistemological paradigm used in this article is that of interpretivism. The reasoning method is deductive, and the methodological approach is mixed. The unit of analysis for this study consists of the directors of the associative organizations of Passifloraceae producers in the productive chain, where two types of players are identified: thirteen (13) leaders of organizations producing passion fruit, and five (5) representatives of institutions in the Huila department that influence the sector. The study concludes with the definition of the map of current managerial competences of organizations in the passionfruit productive sector, and is then contrasted with the map of competences required from these. It also highlights the importance of associativity for small producers, the need to continue conducting research in the sector, and the need to intervene through social outreach projects, so as to generate appropriation and training processes for a set of managerial competencies identified herein, which will strengthen management skills and competitiveness in this type of organization, and ensure, over time, generational change within the sector.

Relevance and statement of a problem. Now processes of socialization of younger generation undergo profound changes. They are characterized by transformation of space-time characteristics – narrowing of the field purposeful, expansion of processes of spontaneous socialization. At the same time the methodological approaches and methods of a research aimed at the analysis of the static phenomena applied in pedagogics become insufficient for a research of chaotic processes. There is a need for search of methodology and methods of a research within which the analysis of processes of spontaneous socialization of modern children and teenagers is possible. Research search shows that the solution of this task is possible on the basis of nonclassical methodological approach. Research objective: identification of opportunities of nonclassical methodology for a research of processes of spontaneous socialization of the modern child. Research problems: representation of the methods in logic of nonclassical methodology aimed at the analysis of these processes. Object and subject of research: the situation of development of the child which is characterized by experiences concerning the relations and readiness for an exception of social interaction in various spheres of activity and immersion in the Internet environment. Subject domain of a research: complex of the relations which are the cornerstone of purposeful and spontaneous socialization of the teenager. Research methodology - nonclassical (anthropological) approach. Research materials. In the course of work on a problem the research methods based mainly on the individual and communicative practicians aimed at the analysis of experiences and communication of the child were developed. Results of a research. The qualitative methods based nonclassical approach will allow to understand not only experiences of the child, but also as negative trends under what conditions they lead to break in relations and to search of significant network contacts that is under what conditions processes of purposeful socialization are weakened collect in his social situation of development, extend borders of socialization spontaneous.

In this article approaches to search for reserves of decrease in cost of agricultural production are considered. The methods of cost calculation of dairy cattle breeding products used at the studied enter-prise are analysed, short characteristic of the standard method offered by the Ministry of Agriculture is given, and calculations of alternative options are also carried out. Today creation of accounting of a production unit is very important so that not only weight units must be considered in it, but also the quali-tative structure of products must be reflected. Definition of qualitative characteristics and technological properties by production of milk which depend on use purposes can be an example. The raw materials consumption on a unit of production and its quality and also firmness of storage depends on technologi-cal properties of milk. At calculation of prime cost taking into account qualitative characteristics for cal-culation milk in terms of basic fat content undertakes. The method of calculation of prime cost consider-ing qualitative characteristics is the most expedient as prime cost of 1 c of milk unlike the operating tech-nique is lower. In the article analytical methods of reserves calculation for decrease in prime cost taking into account various factors are proved. The revealed reserves will allow an enterprise to expand its in-vestment opportunities in the future, they will give an additional incentive of modernization of the worn-out machinery and equipment in branches of agriculture.
