A sense of belonging in the cycle of teaching and learning is important to students because if they understand acceptance into the program, they will feel more inspired, more successful, and more driven. Students understand the value of school activities in a supportive and warm atmosphere that provides a sense of belonging and acceptance.  Moreover, it is a vital necessity for every individual. The sense of belonging for schools is about achievement, suggesting that the benefit of fulfilling this need is generally higher, reaching the students. Therefore, students who do not fulfill their needs for possessions will also have lower self-esteem. Low self-esteem is often associated with depression. Low self-esteem can lead to depression, and depression lowers self-esteem. Hence, the paper describes the extent of belongingness and level of self-esteem of high school students of a Catholic college in Antique during the school year 2019-2020. Likewise, this paper explored the relationship between the students' demographics and their sense of belongingness and self-esteem.

In this paper we present an evaluation of an App for mobile devices, ‘Roteiro dos Descobrimentos’, as an educational digital resource for primary school students. The study involved the participation of 131 students and eight teachers. Data were collected from participant observation, students’ questionnaires and interviews to students and teachers. According to students, they learned new things, related with the topics explored, in an easy and funny way. Students also emphasized as positive aspects the fact that they had to face different challenges and the need to mobilize their knowledge to solve them. Teachers referred that students showed great interest and enthusiasm during the activities. As main gains, teachers stressed that the application fosters the relationship of students with the city, facilitates collaboration, and promotes students’ autonomy. In resume, it seems that the playful and interactive dimension of the App promoted the development of important skills such as the ability to interact with the environment, collaborative work, autonomy, and reading and interpretation skills. As a conclusion, there is a great receptivity to integrate mobile technologies in the teaching and learning process, but the role of the teacher can’t be dismissed, as a mediator and educator.

Introduction.  Teachers are invited to seek answers to many questions on their professional growth path. This article aims at drawing attention to their motivational behaviour in teaching school students. According to the theory of self-determination, appropriate motivating (that is, autonomy-supportive) behaviour of teachers can respond to a child’s essential psychological needs, and thus enable him or her to engage in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the goal of this study is to examine the relationship between teachers’ motivational behaviour and student engagement.  Method.  The sample was composed of 687 students. Two measuring instruments were used: Learning Climate Questionnaire (LCQ) (Black & Deci, 2000) and Student Engagement Scale (Lam et al., 2014). Descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, correlational analyses, and multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyse the data. Results.  The research results suggest that teachers’ motivational behaviour (students’ perceived level of autonomy-supportive teaching) significantly predicts student engagement. The studied Lithuanian children are characterised by the same engagement as children from all over the world; they see the meaning of their work and focus on it. Discussion and Conclusion.  The conducted research also confirms a universal trend that boys are less involved than girls, although there were no statistically significant differences in the perceived level of teachers’ autonomy-supportive behaviour (for boys and girls).

Test question is a measuring tool that very important to determine the success of teaching and learning process. However, the main weaknesses of the teacher-made items are less structured construction. This weakness is usually because of the limited time teachers have in SMPN 17 Jambi for constructing the item test. If the analysis of these items is done manually, it will require a lot of time. Therefore, in the activities of community service will be used the program ANATES V4 for analyzing the test items. This program is used because it is  easy and simple. The method used in this training are lectures, discussion-information/question and answer, demonstration and direct experiment. During the activity process, the participants are excited to practice the analysis of items directly and they are also already capable to carry out the analysis of the test form both multiple choice questions and essay. By analyzing the test, indirectly teachers can collect the test items or create “test item bank” that have validity and reliability.
