This study aims to explore the thoughts of Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi Al-Maliki regarding extremist behavior where this action is allegedly the raw material for the ideology of radicalism which is certainly contradictory to the values of Islamic teachings. The phenomenon of radical, anarchic, brutal acts, and even terrorism which has increased recently has caused unrest and anxiety not only for the government, but this issue has also raised concerns for religious leaders in various parts of the world. Senior international scholar Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi Al-Maliki is one of the scholars who pays attention to the discourse of radicalism. Al-Maliki who is seen as one of the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad SAW has a moderate view in throwing his views on the issue. Al-Ghuluwwu Wa Atsaruhu fi Al-Irhab wa Ifsad Al-Mujtama is his phenomenal work criticizing the ideology of extremism as fuel for acts of terrorism. The concept of "takfir" according to Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi is one of the root causes of the increase in acts of terror that occur everywhere.

The government of Indonesia enacted a policy banning the export of raw minerals in 2009, materialized in Law No. 04 of 2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining. The law mandated the raw minerals processing inside the country before they can be exported to other countries by the year 2014. This policy has drawn response from the government of Japan as one of the importing countries. Japan had threatened to report to the World Trade Organization regarding the issue because they complained that the policy violates the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. This study discusses how the policy is in the effort of Indonesia to develop its nation without any intention to harm any other countries. The justification of the enactment of the policy is mandated under the 1945 Constitution and the policy in essence does not deny the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The enactment of the policy has affected the raw minerals export activity in Indonesia when export activity reached its peak in 2013 and also the last year raw material export was allowed. The policy might also have impacts on Japanese mining industries which relies on the import of raw minerals from Indonesia and those having investments in Indonesian mining industries. Japan at the end cancelled its intention to report Indonesia to the World Trade Organization and agreed to solve the dispute through bilateral solutions.

The media are like a two-edged sword; it could built, it could also destroy. It has the capacity to increase the virtue level of a society; it also has an equal capacity to increase the vices of the society. From surveys it appears to these writers that, the media at present is wielding its vicious powers more. An increase in cases of homicides, terrorism, crime, violence and other social ills in the world is a clear testimony to this assertion. Since the state or the government exists to produce virtues in the citizens, it is imperative that the government takes serious steps to curb the dysfunctional effects of the media on the citizens and the society at large. The government should not be left alone to do this, the religious leaders, physicians, psychologists, philosophers, parents and the media practitioners themselves need to contribute their quota to evolve a media of our dreams – a media that would yield positive and beneficial fruits to the society. The media should be an instrument aimed at shaping the lives of the youth and the society. As an educative, instructive, didactic and healing therapeutic facility, the negatives associated with the media should be avoided by aspiring to embrace the positive effects of their relevance.

The issuance of Law Number 7 of 1996 concerning Products, Law Number 8 of 1999 Concerning Consumer Protection, Government Regulation Number 69 of 1999 reinforces the signal that the responsibility for halal food, beverage, medicines, cosmetics and other products is not only the responsibility of individuals and religious leaders alone, but also the responsibility of the government. Among the institutions responsible is the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Assessment Institute commonly called LPPOM. LPPOM MUI was established on January 6, 1989 to conduct halal examinations and certifications. According to Lukmanul Hakim as Director of LPPOM MUI Center that as a country that has the largest Muslim population, Indonesia has a big share in the world halal trade, reaching USD 197 billion of the total transaction estimated at US $ 1,600 Billion. Seeing the huge potential of global Muslim consumption in Indonesia, LPPOM MUI as a halal certification institution in Indonesia must be able to present halal guaranteed products. Because Indonesia is also a big market for imported products such as food, medicine, cosmetics and other used goods.

This chapter focuses on the possibilities of exploring the areas where credit intervention can be done by the government in the form of schemes which are dependent on sustainable business practices. Nature has provided us abundance of raw material which if used wisely can help to remove poverty across the globe; on the same hand we can preserve the natural resources also if we use sustainable practices. In the current scenario where the world is facing pandemic and natural calamities, the time has to come to focus on sustainable rural micro financing activities which can not only solve the problem of linking the deprived sections of society with the mainstream, but it can also help them to improve their standard of living, and simultaneously, it can take care of various environmental issues too.

Health is the basic right for everybody, therefore every citizen is entitled to get the health care. In enforcing the regulation for Jaringan Kesehatan Nasional (National Health Supports), it is heavily influenced by the foreign interests. Economically, this program does not reduce the people’s burdens, on the contrary, it will increase them. This means the health supports in which should place the government as the guarantor of the public health, but the people themselves that should pay for the health care. In the realization of the health support the are elements against the Syariah principles. Indonesian Muslim Religious Leaders (MUI) only say that the BPJS Kesehatan (Sosial Support Institution for Health) does not conform with the syariah. The society is asked to register and continue the participation in the program of Social Supports Institution for Health. The best solution is to enforce the mechanism which is in accordance with the syariah principles. The establishment of BPJS based on syariah has to be carried out in cooperation from the elements of Social Supports Institution (BPJS), Indonesian Muslim Religious (MUI), Financial Institution Authorities, National Social Supports Council, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Finance. Accordingly, the Social Supports Institution for Helath (BPJS Kesehatan) based on syariah principles could be obtained and could became the solution of the polemics in the society.
