ABSTRACT Introduction: The main reason for the decline in college students’ physical fitness and health is the lack of physical exercise, the emphasis on study and the neglect of physical exercise, and the lowering of the physical fitness requirements of college students. Objective: The paper analyzes the status quo and existing problems of college students’ physical fitness and proposes that the school party committee issues policy-based health intervention measures, encourages school physical education teachers to participate in students’ after-school physical exercises, and extensively develops school mass sports activities. Methods: The paper uses a literature method, questionnaire survey, comprehensive evaluation method, etc., to analyze the internal and external factors of college students’ physical decline. Results: Through the practice density test of students in physical education teaching, it is learned that physical education in the first grade can fully develop students’ physical fitness, and the practice density of each class reaches 60%. The practice density of the second-grade optional courses is about 20%, and it cannot achieve the purpose of effective physical exercise. Conclusions: The current teaching content and teaching methods of physical education classes cannot effectively complete physical education tasks. It is necessary to adjust the teaching content further and improve the teaching methods. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment results.

Exercise can be a supporting factor or inhibitor of reproductive health related to menstruation. East Java Sports High School is a particular school for athletes who have more intensive physical training than other public schools. This research was conducted to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the duration of physical exercise and the menstrual cycle in female athletes at East Java Sports High School. The method of this research is quantitative, with a sample of 60 respondents from 14 sports. Data is processed and calculated with Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 21, the statistical test used chi-square test. The calculation results obtained were 0.002 <0.05, so there is a significant relationship between the duration of physical exercise and the athlete's menstrual cycle at East Java Sports High School. That can be caused by excessive use of energy when practicing so that the energy in the body is out of balance which results in decreased pulsatile GnRH, which can affect FSH. In addition, the results of calculations on the variable menstrual disorders in the form of physical disorders during menstruation obtained results 0.565 >0.05, so there is no significant relationship between the duration of physical exercise with menstrual disorders in athletes at East Java Sports High School.

The healing effects of horse riding have been known for a long time. These qualities were already recognized in ancient times - Hippocrates believed that riding a horse stimulates the functioning of the body, while Socrates noticed its impact on the exercise of the body and senses. In turn, Avicenna considered horse riding to be an excellent exercise for the body. In the sixteenth century, doctors confirmed the beneficial effects of horse riding, considering it useful for health. In 1750, Francisco Fuller mentioned horse riding in the first study of sports medicine, noticing its impact on the state of mind and human body (Bednarczyk 2015). The horse played a huge role in human life, and the nature of this relationship has changed over the years. The subject of the article focuses on the equestrian sport, which therapeutic effect takes place through the constant dialogue between the rider and the horse. This relationship is manifested in a special relationship of man and animal, which has an emotional character. The phenomenon of this interaction was presented in the Amazon narrative, which through riding and communing with these animals, has found a new dimension of life. The research was embedded in qualitative orientation, which allowed to understand a fragment of the narrator's reality and her experience of everyday life.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Immobilization is a treatment technique often used to reduce pain and prevent worsening of the injury. However, it promotes harmful effects on musculoskeletal tissue, resulting in a marked loss of muscle function, which may be aggravated in the elderly. Physical exercise is an important intervention to mitigate these harmful effects. Objective: To analyze possible morphometric changes in the gastrocnemius muscle of rats after immobilization and remobilization with physical exercise. Methods: Fifty-six rats were divided into adult (A) and aged (E) groups and subdivided into adult and aged control (AC and EC), immobilized (AI and EI), free remobilized (AIF and EIF), and remobilized through physical exercise (AIE and EIE). The hind limbs were immobilized with the gastrocnemius muscle in a shortened position for a period of seven days, except for the control group. The exercise protocol consisted of five swimming sessions, once per day (25 minutes/session). The animals were euthanized by administration of an overdose of ketamine hydrochloride plus xylazine hydrochloride, followed by sample collection and preparation of hematoxylin and eosin slides. Measurements of the smallest diameter of 120 muscle fibers of each animal were taken with software NIS-Elements D3.0 - SP7 - Nikon® instruments Inc., NY, USA. Results: There was a significant reduction in the mean fiber diameter in the AI (38.43 µm ± 4.20; p=0.01) and AIF (36.97 µm ± 3.41; p<0.01) groups compared to AC (45.39 µm ± 3.41) and in the EI (42.26 µm ± 4.39; p<0.01), EIF (36.00 µm ± 4.15; p<0.01), and EIE (41.86 µm ± 4.95; p<0.01) groups compared to the EC (51.37 µm ± 3.86) group. The data showed that exercise was able to restore muscle trophism in the adult groups; however, none of the protocols has succeeded in aged rats. Conclusion: Immobilization in the shortened position induced muscle atrophy and physical exercise was effective in restoring muscular trophism only in adult animals. Level of Evidence I; Therapeutic studies - Investigating the Results of Treatment.
