Objective. To describe the care experiences of students in burn units. Methods. Qualitative research of the phenomenological descriptive type which was conducted with the participation of eight senior nursing students in Shiraz College of Nursing and Midwifery, Iran. The method used for gathering data about Student experiences in Care Services for Burn Cases was the individual semi-structured interview. The Colaizzi method was used for analysing and interpreting the data. Results. Three main themes emerged: the attractive but stressful experience, trying to adjust and metamorphosis in attitude. Taking care of burned patients led to metamorphosis and adaptation to the requirements of burn care due to the students’ improved attitudes, awareness and potentials. This finally turned the stressful nature of taking care of a burn patient into an attractive experience for them. Conclusion. Students with little clinical experience of stressful working situations in burn units faced different challenges. Due to the specific nature of taking care of burned patients, the clinical experiences of nursing students who offer these services are unique.How to cite this article:. Hosseini F, Momennasab M. Nurses are on the front line of the healthcare system and should, therefore, have the evidence-based knowledge to manage breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to assess the attitudes and knowledge about human lactation among a group of nursing students. An anonymous online survey was sent to all College of Nursing students at a local university in Kentucky. Nursing students participating in the survey favored breastfeeding over formula feeding for infants. Lack of knowledge and various misconceptions about breastfeeding were reported. Whether a nursing student has or has not completed a class about human lactation during the nursing program, and has had or not had children, significantly influences their attitudes and knowledge toward breastfeeding. Future studies should focus on identifying if nursing faculty members and nursing students recognize human lactation as a value and central knowledge for nurses.

This research study was undertaken to assess the effectiveness of nurse led educational knowledge regarding narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances medication protocols among nursing students at selected college of nursing Indore, M.P. The target population consist of nursing student, sample size are 60 nursing students, and Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used. Demographic variables was used. The mean score of nursing students regarding narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances medication protocols is 11.17 in pre-interventional & post-interventional mean score is 18.50, mean difference of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances medication protocols is 7.33 with Standard Deviation was 2.86 of pre-interventional and 2.05 is Standard Deviation of post-interventional, & calculated ‘t’ value is 25.56 at df 59 which is higher than the tabulated ‘t’ value 2.00 at 0.05 level of Significance. The study concluded that knowledge of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances medication protocols of nursing students is not satisfactory or up to the mark but when compared pre-interventional and post-interventional.

Aims: The aims of this study were to explore the experience and psychological impact of sustaining a sharps injury within a nursing student population in the UK. Design: A qualitative approach was taken, using two methods to gather data, namely a Twitter chat and interviews. Methods: A Twitter chat was orchestrated to investigate the experiences of sharps injury with nursing students and registered nurses nationwide (n=71). Interviews were conducted with nursing students from a university in the UK who had sustained a sharps injury (n=12) to discover their experiences and the impact of the injury. Findings were then synthesised and examined. Results: Some nursing students reported psychological impacts after sustaining the sharps injury, which affected both their professional and personal life. The qualitative findings were synthesised into eight themes. Conclusion: Sharps injuries can have many psychological impacts on the individual nursing student and necessary support should be available.

Stress is caused by the demands of everyday life and is an integral part of our lives. The manner in which stress is coped with, remains the responsibility of the individual herself. To be in the nursing profession today, is highly demanding. The psychiatric nurse experiences more stressors, because she is involved in a specialised area, where she uses herself as a therapeutic instrument on a scientific basis. The psychiatric nursing student finds herself in a situation where she is confronted by stressors from her personal and professional environment, as well as stressors caused by her present training in psychiatric nursing. To ensure quality nursing and job satisfaction by the psychiatric nursing students, it is important that their stressors must be identified and that they must learn in good time ways how to effectively cope with it. The psychiatric nursing student must learn ways to cope with her own stressors and consequently she will be in a position to be assistance to her patients. Coping with stress unsuccessfully and not identifying a high stress load, can have disastrous consequences for both the psychiatric nursing student as well as for the specific organisation in which she is involved. The purpose of this research is to identify the precise stressors which influence the psychiatric nursing student during her training, as well as to establish guidelines to direct the psychiatric nursing student where coping with stress is concerned.

At Glasgow Caledonian University, nursing students are given the opportunity to gain practice experience by providing care and support to children with learning disabilities within the individual child’s home-setting during the summer holiday period. Three families of children with learning disabilities took part in a pilot study. The Study attempts to understand and explain the effects, if any, of such practice experiences for the families concerned. Hermeneutic analysis of interview texts utilising a Gadamerian approach reveals an initial understanding of the realities of life for the families concerned. The emergent picture is one of mothers being trapped within their own homes by and with their learning disabled children. Nursing student placements are viewed by families as liberating.

Promoting the health of the newborn and reduction of the neonate morbidity and mortality rate because now a day’s neonatal mortality and morbidity rates are continuously rising day by day so, that’s why it is important to conduct a pre-experimental study on Essential Newborn Care among Nursing student in selected College of Nursing Indore. The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of nurse led intervention. In this study 80 B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year student was selected by using Non probability convenient sampling techniques. Pre interventional knowledge level was assessed by Self-structured knowledge questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The average (Mean ± Standard Deviation) knowledge scoring in pre-test to measure the pre-existed knowledge about essential new-born care found to be 6.89±1.32 points and the knowledge score at post-test stage found to be 19.13±2.00 points. The mean difference of 12.24 points in knowledge scoring between pre-test and post-test was statistically strongly significant (p<0.001) which clearly showed the effectiveness of nurse led module on knowledge of B. Sc. Nursing 3rd year students regarding essential new-born care. The positive mean difference of knowledge score shows that nurse led module was effective.

Citizenship is the exercise of the fundamental rights of people in spaces of participation, opinion and commitments, which can not be violated by any health condition in which the individual is. This research aims to interpret the process of construction of citizenship in hospitalized children, was developed through the qualitative approach, ethnomethodological method, synchronous design, with a sample of three students hospitalized in a health institute specializing in childhood, was used Observation technique and a semi-structured interview guide were obtained as results that hospitalized children carry out their citizenship construction in an incipient way, through the communication interaction they make with other people in the environment where they grow up.

Introduction: Student Centered Learning (SCL) is an effective method to develop student's soft skills and hard skills which are very important to support their successful carrier later. This research was conducted to identify the differences of developed soft skills between students who learn with PBL method and lecturing method. Methods: Descriptive comparative method was used in this study. The samples consisted of 15 students who learned with PBL method and 15 students who learned with lecturing method. The sample for this research was selected by random sampling method. Results: The result showed that the average of student's soft skills score in PBL method was 122.63, while student's soft skills score in lecturing method was 116.27. Discussion & Conclusion: There was significant difference of student's soft skills in PBL method and lecturing method (p value = 0.038; α = 0.05). This study recommends nursing program management, faculty of medicine at the University of Syiah Kuala keeps PBL method running and develops other methods which facilitate hard skills and soft skills are development. Keywords: nursing students, soft skill, PBL

The pandemic COVID-19 is a highly infected disease caused by a novel coronavirus or SARS-Cov-2. The virus was reported for the first time  December 2019 in, China's Wuhan province. Later the virus has broken down into the world and claimed millions of lives. In India, the disease was reported for the first time in Kerala on 30th January 2020. a cross-section one group pre-test & post-test research design was used among the 40 final year BSc nursing students, College of Nursing SGPGIMS, Lucknow India. Samples were selected based on purposive sampling technique and sample criteria. An instrument, the first tool included demographic characteristics Similarly, second instrument used for knowledge assessment. After pre-test assessment, a teaching session was held at the seminar room, college of nursing SGPGIMS Lucknow, India. Subsequently post assessment was held after intervention.  A total of 40 participants responded to the study. Demographic variables like 30(75%) participants had less than 22 years of age, 22(55%) were girls, 14(35%) families income found INR 10000-15000, and the majority of participants obtained COVID-19 related knowledge from news paper16(40%). A gender was found significant with pretest knowledge, and other variables weren't found significant (P=0.05). Knowledge mean & standard deviation in pre & post-intervention, 11.90±2.16 vs15.82±1.39. The mean difference was found in a pre-test & post-test-1 &post-test-2, 3.9, 5.02, & 1.1, respectively. The effectiveness of the training program was checked by paired t-test -10.20 & -13.93, P=0.00.  The study revealed that the teaching session was efficient in the COVID-19 program among BSc nursing students.

Objetivo: O objetivo desse estudo foi de identificar as dificuldades do profissional enfermeiro frente à criança com câncer, verificar se há preparo adequado para atender às necessidades de uma criança com doenças oncológicas; e qual a forma de enfrentamento utilizada pelo profissional diante das dificuldades encontradas, no atendimento a essa criança. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, objetivando identificar quais dificuldades o profissional de enfermagem enfrenta no cuidado de criança com câncer e de seus familiares, os mecanismos de enfrentamento dessas dificuldades no atendimento dos mesmos e se há preparo adequado dos mesmos para atender as necessidades dessas crianças. Os sujeitos foram quatro enfermeiras que cuidam ou já cuidaram de crianças com câncer no Hospital Bom Pastor – Varginha/MG. A coleta de dados foi desenvolvida por uma entrevista semiestruturada. Resultados: Constatou-se que as dificuldades são: cuidar de criança em estado grave, seus pais e o envolvimento emocional. Aos meios de enfrentamento referem à oração e a distração. Quanto ao preparo do profissional referem despreparo para atuar nesta área. Conclusão: Conclui-se que há falta de preparo aos profissionais, embora os mesmos cuidem com humanização dessas crianças.  Palavras-chave: Enfermeiro; Crianças; Câncer.   ABSTRACT: Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the difficulties of the professional nurse when taking care of a child with cancer, check the adequate preparation to meet the needs of children with oncological diseases; and what form of coping with the situation the professionals used when taking care of this child. Methodology: This was a qualitative study , aiming to identify the difficulties the professional faces in the care of children with cancer and their families , the coping mechanisms of these difficulties in the care  and if there is adequate preparation thereof to meet the needs of these children. The subjects were four nurses who care or have cared for children with cancer at Good Shepherd Hospital – Varginha/MG. Data collection was carried out by a semi - structured interview. Results: It was found that the difficulties are care of a child in serious condition, his parents and the emotional involvement. Means of coping relate to prayer and distraction. As to their preparation, professionals refer as being unprepared to act in this area. Conclusion: We concluded that there is lack of preparation of professionals, although they take care of these children in a humanistic way  Keywords: Nurse; children; Cancer.
