The rapidly developing labor reality requires a modern specialist to be ready for rapid adaptation in the professional space, mobility within the labor market and constant self-improvement. The training of such specialists at the university aims at the formation of both highly professional and flexible (universal) competencies that provide the ability to think systematically, critically assess problem situations and search for a variety of resources for solving professional problems. Universal competencies are represented by eight groups which suppose that University training in its basic part should be identical at all university levels of education and for all areas and specialties. And it is grounded on the principles of universalism. The purpose of the paper is to present the concept of universal competencies in a meaningful and structural way and to determine the possibilities of the case-testing method in their evaluation. The research methodology is based on the principles of flexibility and variability applied to research process organization, practice-oriented principles of the results of research procedures. It is focused on a holistic, reflexive-analytical and methodological-instructive presentation of the results of diagnostics that reflect the development of universal competencies. The following research methods are used: theoretical analysis and content analysis of normative documents that describe the structure of universal competence and determine the contribution of the discipline Foreign Language to the development of this type of competence among students of non-linguistic specialties; generalization of Russian and foreign experience in assessing competencies to identify the best practices for diagnosing their development; analysis of current and interim control test-tasks designed to evaluate universal competencies that can be found in the OmSPU evaluation funds; interviewing teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages (interfaculty chair) of OmSPU that aims at showing the advantages and disadvantages of case-testing in assessing the universal competencies of students of non-linguistic specialties. As a result of the research, a model evaluation case is going to be designed and the recommendations for University teachers how to use it in their work will be given. The scientific novelty of the research includes the ideas developing a universal approach to the University training as well as the ideas enriching a competence-based approach how to organize and evaluate universal competencies. The practical significance is seen in the possibility of using the materials of the paper to improve the funds of evaluation tools for the discipline Foreign Language; developing an educational module for advanced training courses.

The paper deals with the observation of the specifics of online teaching of lexicology and syntax of the Serbian language at the Faculty of Philology of students studying a foreign language. The aim is to notice possibilities of realization of online teaching. The research was conducted on the basis of the implementation of the teaching process in the subject Serbian language 2 (lexicology and syntax) and a survey of students on the advantages and disadvantages of online teaching. The analysis showed that online teaching provides shortcomings in the form of insufficient time for the teacher to deal in more detail with student ambiguities, but also provides numerous opportunities for progress in education – mostly in terms of student time organization and uninterrupted questioning, which is not always the case. Based on the obtained results, we will try to give methodological implications for teaching practice, which concern the possibility of improving online teaching of the Serbian language at the university level.

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of optimizing the teaching of Russian as a foreign language using computer technologies at the stage of pre-University training of Chinese students. Students from China experience a number of difficulties related to cultural, national characteristics, as well as large differences in the principles of their native and Russian languages. The aim of the work is to analyze the practices of using computer technologies at the initial stage of studying RCT by Chinese students; to postulate the need to use existing electronic educational complexes, as well as to create new ones. Material and methods. The methodology included information retrieval, continuous sampling analysis, and systematization. Results and discussion. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in the systematization of the described experience of using electronic resources and conclusions. In Russia, several electronic and methodological complexes have been created in recent years, which simplify the process of mastering Russian as a foreign language. Using them, the student can repeatedly reproduce the training material, return to it after some time. The effective experience of using e-courses at the stage of pre-University training is described. They are used in Moscow, Krasnodar, Voronezh and other cities. Most of the computer systems concern phonetics as a section of the Russian language. This is due to the complexity of this section for international students. The part is created on topics that are studied much later than the initial stage, for example, «Chemistry», «Economics», «Literature». We have noted the lack of narrowly thematic educational electronic materials for students of the initial stage. Also, for effective learning and comfort in a foreign language environment, students can be provided with interactive dictionaries. It is important that the role of the teacher is not leveled in the course of using electronic learning environments. Conclusion. Interactive courses serve as necessary additional elements in the training system of RCTS, but they cannot replace the tutor’s control by a live person. We noted the descriptive nature of scientific works on the functioning of e-courses, which means that there is a need to quantify their effectiveness using sociological, pedagogical and statistical methods, and to highlight the results in the General pedagogical discourse.

Teaching Russian at the universities in Slovakia has its own history. For decades, the Russian language has occupied a worthy place in the country’s universities, including Ruzomberok. A new educational reform (since September, 2019) implies freedom of choice when learning foreign languages. Consequently, interest in studying the Russian language in Slovakia is forecasted, which indicates the relevance of our chosen topic. The purpose of the article is to analyze the system of teaching the Russian language at Catholic University in Slovakia from the perspective of a young teacher with little pedagogical experience. The theoretical significance of the article lies in the pointing out the problem of forming and developing interest to the Russian language in Ruzomberok through the culturological approach outlined by the famous Slovak specialist in Russian philology Eva Kollarova. The practical significance of the work consists in using educational disciplines being worked out, their analysis and further adjustment aimed at developing the students’ personality, their individuality through the Russian language. As a result of the study, it was proved that the curriculum based on the culturological approach to teaching a foreign language helps to build trust between the teacher and students. Also, university students are motivated, and in the university environment, they do not only receive facts through language, but are also brought up. We see the prospects of the study in a more detailed study of the impact of teaching the Russian language according to the principle of “language through culture, culture through language.” Due to the growing interest to the Russian language in Slovakia and a free choice in learning a foreign language, the willingness of teachers and students for the dialogue of cultures is becoming very important.

The processes of globalization that have swept the whole world, including Russia, make the modern labor market extremely mobile. It poses a number of tasks for Russian higher school to train highly competent professionals who are fluent in foreign languages. Among many newest pedagogical technologies, the case-study method is viewed as promising and perspective. It appeared at the end of the 19th century in the USA, but became widespread in our country only at the turn of the 20-21 centuries. The analysis of the existing definitions of this concept allowed the authors to formulate their own definition of the term electronic case, which is interpreted as a real situation prepared and loaded by the teacher into the digital learning environment of the university for subsequent comprehensive analysis and finding alternatives to its solution based on group discussions. Along with this, the authors managed to develop methodological requirements for educational electronic cases implemented at foreign language lessons at a university, to determine the range of key skills and abilities formed by the case method, to identify the advantages and disadvantages of public and non-public presentation of the case solution.

The present work aims to analyze the relationship of ICT with neuroeducation, educational inclusion, environmental education and pluriculturality through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (Structural Equation Model – SEM) of a created ad hoc and a validated and confirmed scale. For the search for answers, a non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory and correlational research process was carried out. The instrument used to collect the data was a Likert scale, which has been validated in content and with a good Cronbach's alpha (.825). The construct validity was carried out with an exploratory factorial analysis (KMO (.764), Bartlett (Sign.000), Determinant (2.891E-30)). The sample was of 292 students of Master’s Degree in Teacher Training from the University of Jaen (Spain). The Confirmatory Factorial Analysis (SEM) allowed us to conclude that this relationship is possible, with greater strength between education technologies and educational inclusion, and between the former and pluriculturality, and with less strength between environmental education and neuroeducation, what should be taken into account to implement in university training programs.

How to approach didactically the translation classes in the university-based teaching of foreign languages? During the last decade translation in foreign language teaching has experienced renewed interest. At present, research in this area focuses not so much on the advantages and disadvantages of translation, but on the question of how it can be optimally integrated and taught in higher education. We decided to look for an answer to that question in the didactics of translation and foreign language education. The result of our study is the teaching model that we present in this article. We also demonstrate how we applied this model during the practical FL-translation classes taught to third-year undergraduate students of the programme offered by the Dutch Chair of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin where translation is taught as part of the Dutch language learning programme.
