The paper presents the results of a validation of an online intervention comprising a three-week course in mindfulness meditation with daily guided meditation sessions. The study used a randomised wait-list control group design with a pre-test and a post-test. Dependent variables included indicators of emotional and psychological well-being, reflective processes, self-control and self-regulation. Participants were anonymous volunteers recruited via social networks (N = 206; with N = 56 in the experimental group and N = 44 in the control group after dropout). The results indicate that taking part in a mindfulness meditation intervention is associated with higher emotional well-being, reduction of non-productive reflection (rumination), development of self-determination, self-motivation, self-relaxation, cognitive self-control and activity concentration skills. At the same time, participants who dropped out had different self-control and affective self-control scores at pre-test. The findings indicate that regular mindfulness meditation sessions as part of an online intervention develop self-regulation skills in individuals whose self-control is sufficiently high in order to adhere to a regular meditation schedule.

This study intended to investigate the effects of Assessment as Learning (AaL) strategy on satisfaction of academic performance and motivational beliefs of ESL (English as Secondary Language) students of Public sector school. Using the quasi-experimental pre-post-test control group design, and assessment strategy recommended by Lee and Mak (2014), this study examined the effects of Assessment as Learning (AaL) on students’ studying ESL writing skills in Argumentative Essay. Through the convenience sampling technique, 60 ninth standard students were selected to participate in the study. Students' performance was analyzed with the help of Argumentative Essay Test and Motivation was investigated by using Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Both control and experimental groups were trained through traditional teaching ESL strategies; however, experimental group students practiced an additional intervention identified as "Assessment as Learning (AaL)" strategy. After seven weeks of study, both groups' performance and motivation were evaluated through post-tests. The data from pre-tests and post-tests were analysed by Independent Sample t-tests. The results demonstrated that the experiment group’s academic scores and motivation were significantly higher, thus the implementation of AaL practice is recommended to raise self-regulation and performance of students.

This study aimed to examine the psychological effects of forest activities in a campus forest. A pre-test and post-test control group design was employed to evaluate the psychological effect of forest activities in a campus forest. A total of 38 participants participated in this study (19 in the forest activities group; 19 in the control group). The Profile of Mood State (POMS) questionnaire, the Concise Measure of Subjective Well-Being (COMOSWB), and the modified form of the Stress Response Inventory (SRI-MF) were administered to each participant to assess psychological effects. This study revealed that participants in the forest activities intervention group had significantly positive increases in their mood, stress response, and subjective well-being, comparing with those of control group participants who did not partake in any forest activities. In conclusion, the implementation of forest activities in a campus forest is an efficient strategy to provide psychological well-being benefits to college students.

Abstrak Tingginya angka infertilitas pada pria disebabkan antara lain oleh kualitas produksi spermatozoa dan gangguan hormonal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh gangguan tidur terhadap kadar hormon testosteron dan jumlah spermatozoa. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen laboratorium dengan desain post test only control groupdesign. Populasi tikus jantan Wistar berumur 2-3 bulan, dan berat badan 300 – 350 gr. Sampel sebanyak 24 ekor dibagi atas 4 kelompok yaitu: 1 kelompok kontrol dan 3 kelompok perlakuan. Variabel independen adalah gangguan tidur dan variabel dependen adalah kadar hormon testosteron dan jumlah spermatozoa. Analisa data mengunakan metode ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji statistik Multiple Comparisons jenis Bonferroni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan bermakna rerata kadar hormon testosteron kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan dengan nilaip=0,000. Gangguan tidur memberikan perbedaan bermakna terhadap kadar hormon testosteron. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna rerata jumlah spermatozoa kelompok kontrol dengan perlakuan dengan nilai p=0.000. Gangguan tidur juga memberikan perbedaan bermakna terhadap jumlah spermatozoa. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah terdapat pengaruh yang bermakna antara gangguan tidur terhadap kadar hormon testosteron dan jumlah spermatozoa pada tikus jantan wistar. Kata kunci: gangguan tidur, hormon testosteron, jumlah spermatozoaAbstract The increasing of infertility is caused by the quality of sperm production and hormonal disturbance. The objective of this study was to find out the effect of sleeping disturbance to the quality of testosterone hormone and the number of sperm. This was a laboratory experimental research with post-test only control group design. The populations were 2-3 months, 300-350 grams of weight, male rats. The sample was 24 rats which consisted of 4 groups: one control group and three experimental groups. Sleeping disturbance was an independent variable, whilethe quality of sperm testosterone hormone and the number of sperm were dependent variables. The data of the research were analyzed statistically by  ANOVA method and Bonferroni multiple comparison. There was a significant different of the mean of testosterone hormone quality between control group and experimental group with p=0,000. Sleeping disturbance gave significant different to the quality of testosterone hormone. There was a significant different on the number of sperm quality between control group and experimental group with p=0,000. Sleeping disturbancegave significant different to the number of sperm quality. The conclusion from this study is that there is effect of sleeping disturbance to testosterone hormone quality and the number of sperm on the wistar male rats. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of experiential learning education on problem solving skills of primary education students.  Artificial wall climbing is considered as not only a game but also as a learning tool that can help children discover themselves, recognize their limits and their peers, make them actively involved, and lead them to experience. In this research, experimental model with pretest-posttest control group design was used. During this time, the experimental group joined exercise throughout six weeks twice a week and control group did not participate in any activities, continuing their usual life. For collecting data "Problem Solving Inventory for Children" was used. In the analysis of the research data, t-test was used to compare the pre-test, post-test results of the two groups. According to the results of statistical analysis, there were significant differences in pre-test and post-test scores regarding confidence, self-control, avoidance subscales and total scores. As a result of this research, it is argued that the applied artificial wall climbing program has a positive influence on the problem solving skills of students.

During the learning process, students need to be competence. Group guidance can be used to improve the independency of the students. An experimental pre post-test control group design was utilized to test whether group guidance can better improve theindependency of student’s learning. Two purposive sample classes of student were selected from SMA N 1 and SMA N 2 Sungai Tarab. The findings of this study were: (1) there is a significant difference between pre-test and posttest score of the experimental group and (2) significant difference between the experimental group on the students' independence score with self control group.

<p class="06IsiAbstrak"><span lang="EN-US">Schizophrenic patients are not able to carry out their normal developmental tasks, both in terms of cognitive, emotional, behavioural, or life impulses so they need others especially from family. Family caregiver is not easy to do the work because the presence of schizophrenia patients is a source of prolonged stressors for family caregiver so that it can have a psychological impact on family caregiver members. This study aimed at understanding the effect of Group Positive Psychotherapy to increase the psychological well-being of <em>family caregiver</em> of schizophrenia patients. The Group Positive Psychotherapy was developed based upon the existing components in the positive psychotherapy including positive emotion, involvement, and the meaning of individual life. The respondents of this study were 14 <em>family caregiver</em> of schizophrenia patients. The respondents were divided into experimental group and control group. This study employed a quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design. The instrument was used in this study included psychological well-being scale. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis were used. The result of the Sphericity Assumed showed the score of p=0,00 (p&lt;0,05) and F=15,218. The research proved that the <em>family caregiver</em> of schizophrenia patients obtained the Group Positive Psychotherapy had the significantly higher score of psychological well-being compared to the group of <em>family caregiver</em> that did not have any Group Positive Psychotherapy</span></p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis surat dinas siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Panyingkiran Kabupaten Majalengka, mengetahui kemampuan menulis surat dinas dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD (Student Teams-Achievment Divisions) siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Panyingkiran Kabupaten Majalengka, serta menjelaskan efektifitas model pembelajaran STAD (Student Teams-Achievment Divisions) untuk meningkatkan  pengajaran menulis surat dinas siswa Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Panyingkiran Kabupaten Majalengka.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan metode eksperimen Pre test-Post test Control Group Design, populasinya yaitu SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Panyingkiran Kabupaten Majalengka tahun ajaran 2013/2014, sedangkan  sampelnya ditentukan melalui teknik simple random sampling yaitu kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 2 Panyingkiran sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 1 Panyingkiran sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan tes tertulis tes awal dan tes akhir, kuesioner, lembar observasi guru dan siswa, setelah data diperoleh maka dilakukan analisis data. Data kuesioner dan observasi dianalisis dalam bentuk uraian sedangkan data tes dianalisis dengan statistik dan di deskripsikan.Berdasarkan perhitungan statistik program SPSS 16.0 diperoleh hasil uji t pretes pada kedua kelas tersebut memiliki nilai t=5.429 derajat kebebasan (df)=n-1=38 nilai probability (sig 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000.  Hal ini berarti t hitung <0,005. Artinya 0,000<0,05, pada uji t ini bahwasanya pretes pada kedua kelas terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol.  Apabila ditinjau dari segi rata-rata pretes eksperimen lebih efektif daripada kelas kontrol. Hal ini terbukti dari rata-ratanya pretes kelas eksperimen 64,8 kelas kontrol 62,3 selisih rata-rata 2,5. Sedangkan rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 81,2 dan kelas kontrol 69 terjadi selisih postes 12,2.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) terhadap keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Al- Zahra Indonesia, untuk tahun akademik 2014/2015. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Post-test Only Control Group Design, melibatkan 60 siswa sebagai sampel. Untuk menentukan sampel digunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen seperti tes esai tertulis. Keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa yang mengajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) lebih tinggi daripada keterampilan problem posing matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran klasik (t hitung = 2,01 table t tabel = 2,00 ). Persentase jawaban siswa dari problem posing berdasarkan gambar, tabel dan diagram yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengajar dengan model pembelajaran klasik. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini bahwa pembelajaran matematika Pecahan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Head Together (NHT) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan problem posing matematika siswa.

The main objective of the present study is to investigate the effect of implementing innovative learning approaches upon English students’ achievement. The study was quasi experimental study using the post-test only control group design involving 35 students altogether selected using census sampling technique. The instrument which is used to gather data in the study was test. There were two tests used to gather intended data. They were linguistic test and student achievement test. The obtained data were analyzed statistically using descriptive and inferential analysis. The analysis of covariance was conducted to test the hypotheses.
