The aim of the study is to study the cytokine profile in HIV-infected women with acute vaginitis against the background of complex conservative treatment. Materials and methods of research 55 women aged from 25 to 55 years with acute vaginitis were under our supervision. All women were surveyed for the period from 2018 to 2020, of which 35 women with HIV infection, which constitutes the main group, and 20 women without HIV infection, which constitutes the control group. In all female patients, cytokines (to determine inflammatory processes) (IFNγ, IL-17) were determined in the peripheral blood serum. IFNγ, IL-17 were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using test systems "Vector-Best" of the Russian Federation. Results and discussion: the ratio of IFNγ / IL-17 (pro-inflammatory / anti-inflammatory cytokines or Th1 / Th2) in HIV-uninfected women was 2.2. In the presence of a pronounced inflammatory process, that is, in HIV-uninfected women, this indicator was 0.96. After carrying out immunocorrective treatment using Immun-5 (The drug is a balanced mixture of natural biologically active substances, the action of which is aimed at activating the body's immune system. The drug increases the body's resistance in inflammatory diseases. An effective remedy for HIV / AIDS, hepatitis and tuberculosis. 1 capsule 2 times a day for 60 days The drug manifests its effects primarily through the effect on the endogenous interferon system and on the expression of cytokines functionally coupled with interferons - IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17). In the examined HIV-infected women with nonspecific vaginitis, IFNγ approached the control values, the content of IL-17, and after treatment did not normalize, remaining 5.5 times higher than in HIV-uninfected women in the control group, the ratio of IFNγ / IL-17, in HIV-infected women of the main group, after treatment this indicator decreased to 0.42. Conclusion: The improvement in the clinical condition of HIV-infected women, along with the suppression of the level of the pro-inflammatory cytokine IFNγ, was accompanied by the disappearance of signs of inflammation of the genitalia, an improvement in the general condition of HIV-infected women.

Introduction. The overwhelming number of publications contains only data on the content of individual antioxidants, but not on the overall antioxidant activity of the blood in patients with vibration disease. The aim of the study was to determine the total antioxidant activity of blood serum in patients with vibration disease.Materials and methods. Th e main group consisted of 30 people diagnosed with “Vibration disease” of 1 degree (n=21) and 2 degrees (n=9). Th e control group consisted of 30 clinically healthy men, comparable in age with the main group (p=0.66). Th e total activity of antioxidant systems of blood plasma was evaluated photometrically using the test system “Total antioxidant status-Novo” (“Vector-best”, Russia).Results. The indicator of the total antioxidant status (TAS) was 1,038±0.232 mmol/l in the examined main group, against 1,456±0.225 mmol/l in the examined control group (p<0.000001). Th e coefficient of variation (CV) in patients with vibration disease was 22.35%, 1.45 times higher than in the control group (15.45%). In the main group there was a positive correlation between age and TAS (R=0.525), in the control group there was no such relationship (R=0.095). Th e degree of decrease depended on the severity of vibration disease.Conclusions. 1. The development of vibration disease is accompanied by a decrease in the antioxidant status of blood serum. 2. Th e degree of decrease in the antioxidant status of blood serum correlates with the severity of vibration disease. 3. Reduction of TAS can serve as a pathogenetic justification of the need to include drugs and/or biologically active additives with antioxidant activity in therapy

AbstractWe aimed to investigate the CXCL13 concentration of the serum and cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative latent syphilis patients with treatment failure and explore the change in CXCL13 after treatment. Sixty-eight latent syphilis patients with treatment failure (failure group), 68 syphilis patients with successful treatment (seroconversion group) and 18 patients with non-inflammatory diseases of the nervous system (control group) were included and serum and CSF were collected. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was employed to detect the CXCL13 in the serum and CSF. Results showed that the serum CXCL13 concentration was comparable among three groups, and the CSF leukocyte count, IgG index and CXCL13 concentration in the failure group were significantly higher than those in the seroconversion group and control group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). CSF CXCL13 concentration in the failure group was positively related to the CSF leukocyte count (r = 0.3594, P < 0.001). Of the 68 patients in the treatment failure group, neurosyphilis was found in 17 (25.0%). In conclusion, involvement of nervous system is one of the reasons for the treatment failure in patients with latent syphilis. Detection of CSF CXCL13 concentration is helpful for the diagnosis and therapeutic evaluation of HIV-negative latent syphilis patients with treatment failure and neurosyphilis.

Clinical tests were carried out in the representative group of patients with focal left-sided pneumonia (5 men and 7 women aged 18–41). Special-use product was included in in-patient department patients’ diet: 2 tablets in the first intake, then 1 tablet 4 times a day. Course of treatment was 21 days. Biologically active dietary supplement was prescribed together with general therapeutic treatment according to generally accepted standards of care. Control group included 15 patients randomized depending on sex and age who took only medicine. The author measured body temperature, studied the results of general blood tests, determined the level of C-reactive protein and seromucoids, performed R-graphy of lungs, electrocardiogram before and after treatment, analyzed clinical symptoms (cough, type of expectoration, shortness of breath). Composition of the special-use product was scientifically justified taking pharmacological characteristics of its ingredients and their active agents into account. Introduction of the biologically active dietary supplement in addition to the prescribed therapeutic treatment gave positive effect in relation to the inflammatory process: the patients could easier clear their throats from expectoration, coughed less frequently, and had less intense shortness of breath. It was evident that symptoms of disease recrudescence decreased. It appeared in the decreased intensity and length of fever. In case of acute respiratory viral infection the biologically active dietary supplement had antipyretic activity due to the anti-exudative effect of its ingredients. The author determined the anti-inflammatory effect and reduction of acute intoxication symptoms taking the results of general blood analysis into account. Patients who took special-use product had lower values of an inflammatory process marker – seromucoids. Tissues restored easily. The tested product has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic properties. It can be used in complex treatment of acute inflammatory diseases and recrudescence of chronic inflammatory processes.

Background and Objectives The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor (NLRP) 3 is known as a member of the NLR family, and it has been confirmed that the NLRP3 inflammasome is associated with various diseases such as asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, metabolic disorders and multiple sclerosis, as well as other auto-immune and auto-inflammatory diseases. However, the role of NLRP3 in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) has not yet been explored.Subjects and Method Forty-four specimens of nasal polyps and 25 specimens of uncinate processes were collected from patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and 25 specimens of uncinate tissues were collected from patients who underwent other rhino-surgeries. The western blot assay was employed to analyze the expression of NLRP3; interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-17A were detected using immunohistochemistry and real-time polymerase chain reaction. The production of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced IL-1β and IL-17A with or without the NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor (MCC950) was measured using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay in cultured dispersed nasal polyp cells. Results NLRP3 showed a high level of expression in nasal polyps than in the control group (<i>p</i><0.01). The expression of IL-1β and IL-17A was significantly higher in nasal polyps in the CRSwNP group than in the control group (<i>p</i><0.05). LPS-induced production of IL-1β was significantly suppressed by treatment with the NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor (<i>p</i><0.05).Conclusion The NLRP3 inflammasome plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of CRSwNP, and thus MCC950 can be considered a prospective therapeutic for NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated inflammation in nasal polyps. Our data provide new evidence that IL-17A is involved in inflammasome-associated inflammation in nasal polyps.

Background: Interleukin-1 receptor type II (IL-1R2), also known as CD121b, is a member of the IL-1 receptor family. IL-1R2 acts as negative regulator of the IL-1 system, modulating IL-1 availability for the signaling receptor. IL-1R2 is abnormally expressed in many human inflammatory diseases and cancers, and has important clinical significance. The present study was designed to investigate IL-1R2 expression in human gastric cancer (GC) tissues and the associated clinical implications. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to identify the clinical significance and prognostic value of IL-1R2 expression in GC tissues. We investigated IL-1R2 expression in GC tissues, cells, and serum using real-time PCR (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assays. Results: IL-1R2 was highly expressed in GC tissues, and the overall survival in patients with advanced GC and high IL-1R2 expression was significantly poorer than that in patients with advanced GC and low IL-1R2 expression. Moreover, IL-1R2 mRNA levels in GC tissues and most GC cells were higher than those in para-cancer tissues and GES1 human gastric mucosal epithelial cells. The level of plasma soluble IL-1R2 in GC patients was higher than that of the healthy control group. Conclusion: Increased IL-1R2 levels are involved in the initiation and progression of human GC, and IL-1R2 might be employed to develop immunotherapeutic approaches targeting GC.

Reproduction is a crucial issue at the present stage in the pig husbandry development. Infertility of breeding sows leads to excessive use of feed, increased costs associated with failed inseminations, insufficient breed and early culling of sows. Aim of the research. Study of infertility types and prevention of postpartum diseases in sows in order to develop methods to control them. Methods. A two-stage experiment was carried out in 2019–2020 at the LLC "Ryasnyanske" farm in Sumy region, Ukraine. The first stage involved development of a method for prevention and control of infertility in sows. The second stage focused on the method of postpartum pathology prevention. Results. The conducted research established that surfagon and vitamins manifested the highest efficiency in case of alimentary infertility as they increased fertilization by 20.8 %. In terms of symptomatic infertility, the best results were achieved through a combined use of surfagon and gonadotropic hormone for both primary and multiple fertilization of sows, especially considering extremely low values in the control group - 15 % and 6.5 % of piglets, respectively. Aminazine proved to be the most effective remedy for immune infertility, the obtained results were 17.2 % higher than in the control group. Surfagon at a dose of 5 ml together with estrofan twice a day fully prevented inflammatory postpartum pathologies in sows. Conclusions. Pathologies of the reproductive organs in sows are widespread at pork-producing farms. Individual use of surfagon was justified for treatment of alimentary, symptomatic and immune infertility of sows and prevention of postpartum pathologies. A combined use of tissue therapy and biologically active drugs proved to be the most effective. The treatment regimens described above reduce infertility and prevent postpartum pathologies in sows.

In the case of radicular syndrome in patients with dorsopathy, degenerative dystrophic changes, which contribute to the creation of additional mechanisms of pain impulse and chronization of the pathological process, are diagnosed in the deep muscles. The study included 40 patients with dorsopathy of the lumbosacral spine and radicular syndrome, with the average age of 45,3±1,5years, who were divided into 2 groups comparable in age and clinical and functional characteristics: the main group of 20 patients who were treated with laser phoresis of biologically active substances and the control group of 20 patients who received standard pharmacotherapy. As a result of the study, a significantly more pronounced improvement in the state of microcirculation in the paravertebral muscles when using phytoextracts laser phoresis was proved, which was confirmed by radiothermometry and transcutaneous oximetry. The analysis of radiothermometry and oximetry parameters obtained 3 months after the end of the course showed the stability of the therapeutic effect in 96% of patients in the main group, while in the control group, 50% of patients showed a regression of the effect obtained as a result of treatment. In longer terms, the therapeutic effect in 90% of patients of the main group was maintained for 9–12 months of follow-up, while in the control group — no more than 3–4 months.

The article presents the results of treatment of patients with acute inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region using non-drug methods of treatment. Study material: 60 patients with acute purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region (phlegmons and abscesses), who were divided into 2 groups: the main group — 30 patients who underwent a course of complex application of broadband electromagnetic therapy and low — frequency alternating electrostatic field and the control group — 30 patients who were treated with drug therapy (antibiotics, metronidazole group drugs, antihistamines, multivitamins, detoxification therapy, local treatment of the wound process), which served as the background in the main group. Objective: to develop and scientifically substantiate the complex application of broadband electromagnetic therapy and low-frequency alternating electrostatic field in patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region. Results. In a comparative aspect, the dynamics of the indicators of the leukocyte intoxication index (LII) and the main indicators of the morphological picture of the blood before and after treatment in patients with HIA CHLO under the influence of the developed complex was studied. Conclusion. The developed complex, which includes a low-frequency alternating electrostatic field and broadband electromagnetic therapy, contributes to the formation of pronounced anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects in patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region due to a significant reduction in endogenous intoxication, which allows us to recommend it for inclusion in complex therapeutic and rehabilitation programs after surgical interventions to accelerate the time of purulent wound cleansing and reduce the length of hospital stay.
