Education for Sustainable Development permits each individual to get the information, abilities, perspectives and qualities important to shape a practical future. This study determined the level of training implementation based on the six ESD action principles and as to which of these principles have contributed to the improvement of the level of implementation of ESD programs in the Philippines, ESD- best practices of the university community extensionists and the challenges that they have met in the implementation of ESD. It centered on Cell’s Resilience by Szanton & Gill (2020), Transformational Learning by Mezirow (1994) and UNESCO’s three pillars of ESD and Six ESD Action principles and policy support for sustainable development through community learning centers.  This study utilized a quasi-experimental type of research in which it involved quantitative and qualitative data. The random sampling technique was used in order to select the 25 beneficiaries from private and public basic education and higher education institutions. The results showed that the level of implementation was to at least SOME EXTENT with a 3.25 mean, and that only the transformation component is the only significant predictor, the best practices of USJR-Blooms, PNU-Mangrove, and CTU-Hablon tapped the decoding of books through Bloom’s Software for reading literary , reviving Mangrove Forest through DAGANG fisherfolks to target environmental conservation and MTB literacy, and reviving the Handloom Weaving of Hablon in Argao with socio-economic impact, and the challenges of other extension projects in the Philippines enumerated on the attendance of the beneficiaries and the project team, he change of leaders, organizations, time availability, their limited resources and linkages, financial resource mobilization, sustainability of interest, miscommunication, hectic schedules and negative attitudes towards the extension process. It is concluded that the ESD of the Philippines’ implementation is so far, in average level and that the projects have to focus on the transformation of the beneficiaries. This study is recommended to be replicated prioritizing the sustainability and transformation researches, monitoring and evaluation of ESD-Based community project researches, proposed plans for wide array of external funding.

Manila is a primate city with national and international significance. Unlike any other city in the Philippines, Manila has the mandate of serving not just its local constituents, but also a clientele of national and even global scale. Recognizing that the localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at sub-national levels is a key element in meeting the targets by 2030, it is important to look at how cities have been confronting local challenges relating to the development goals. Focusing on SDGs 3, 4 and 11, this city profile shows that Manila has performed reasonably well against key national and regional benchmarks on health, education and urban sustainability. However, as the city continues to lag behind many of its regional counterparts, key reforms must be undertaken in the areas of local policymaking, targeting of resources, scale of public participation and engagement of national government agencies. Heading into the first four years of the SDGs, the aim of this profile is to recognize and contextualize Manila’s existing urban conditions, best practices and pressing challenges—which would all have a significant implication on how Manila stands to attain SDGs 3, 4 and 11.

Cognizant of the special needs of indigenous people in the Philippines, the Republic Act No. 8371 of 1997 was established to promote and protect their rights. Over the years, a number of community organizing efforts for the improvement of these communities were conducted by stakeholders from the private and public sectors. However, resistance has been reported due to poor understanding and integration of these indigenous populations' varied cultures and traditions. This study aims to describe the predominant principles and frameworks used for community organizing among indigenous people. Specifically, it seeks to propose a community organizing approach that is culturally sensitive and appropriate for indigenous communities in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in the Philippines. A systematic review was conducted on four databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Google Scholar) by four independent researchers. Inclusion criteria involved studies about community organizing protocols in the Philippines, published in peer-reviewed journals from 2010-2020, and written in the English language. Assessment of the quality of included studies was done using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) checklist, and narrative synthesis was employed to summarize and report the findings. Thirteen studies met our inclusion criteria out of a total of fifty-five articles searched. Based on the evidence, our proposed approach builds on Groundwork, Indigenous Capacity Building, Community Participation and Ownership, Mobilization, and Sustainability. We highlight the emphasis of harnessing indigenous knowledge and Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation to involve them in all steps of the planning and decision-making processes. Furthermore, we distill tools and methodologies that could strengthen and precipitate successful community organizing endeavors.

Introduction: The function of nursing assessment is to evaluate and identify the health status of clients, thus, the nurse is required to conduct the nursing care assessment with data criteria which are complete, systematic, use a format, and which are actual and valid. The aim of this study was to understand the effect of clinical supervision of the Proctor Model against the ability in conducting nursing care assessment appropriately.Method: The type of study was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental pre-posttest control group design. The sampling method was a purposive sampling technique with 68 samples of nurse. Before and after conducting clinical supervision of the Proctor Model, the ability in conducting nursing care assessment of nurse was observed.Result: Data was analyzed by using Mann-Whitney that shows there was an effect of clinical supervision of the Proctor Model against the ability in conducting the nursing care assessment (p= 0.000).Conclussion: Normative function focused on monitoring and evaluation, formative function focused on knowledge and skill development, and restorative function focused on encouragement and motivation, thus clinical supervision of the  Proctor Model could be applied as one of solution to improve the ability of nurses in conducting nursing care assessment.

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of concept mapping as a teaching strategy on the students’ achievement and interest in English. It is a quasi-experimental design of non- equivalent pre-test post-test control group is used. Stratified random sampling technique is adapted in selecting the 250 students from the different schools in the Philippines. Two research instruments is developed by the researchers and used for data collection are: Students’ English Achievement Test (STAT) and Students’ Interest Inventory (SII). Mean and Standard Deviation are used to answer the three research questions, while three hypotheses are tested at 0.05 error margins using the t-test analysis. The result of the findings showed that there is significant difference in the mean achievement scores and interest rating of students are exposed to concept mapping strategy in English. There is a significant impact on the gender of the respondents on achievement of students that are exposed to concept mapping strategy. The researchers recommended among other things: the integration of concept mapping strategy in the curriculum, adequate training of English teachers on the use of concept mapping strategy. The study employed descriptive analysis of the K-12 Araling Panlipunan </em><em>or </em><em>Social Studies</em><em> c</em><em>urriculum content covering grades one to ten. Findings have shown that promoting gender-fair education is a commitment of different educational institutions in the country</em><em>,</em><em> both private and public. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mempromosikan pendidikan gender yang adil merupakan komitmen dari lembaga pendidikan yang beragam di negara ini, baik swasta dan negeri. Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial adalah wahana bagi kurikulum Reformasi Pendidikan Dasar K-12 untuk mempromosikan warganegara yang aktif dan transformasi sosial. The study aimed to describe the socio-economic and employment status of Filipino migrants in Australia and its implications to college education. It utilized qualitative descriptive method of research involving 114 Filipino migrants in Australia as selected respondents through purposive sampling technique. The Filipino migrant workers were basically in their prime to meet the challenge of professional life and employment demands of the Australian labor market; they were into every kind of jobs – be it professional type of job or white collar jobs, or plain blue collar work. Computer literacy is one important job requirement in Australia. Those who migrated to Australia had realized their aspiration for a better life in that country. Foreigners who look for jobs in Australia would not encounter problem or difficulty as they are assured of job placements before they leave the country of origin. Australia is the land of promise for most Filipino migrants who migrated to the country in search for better job opportunities. College degree from the Philippines is not a guarantee of a better job in Australia as its standard of quality education starts from the basic education level.   Keywords - socio-economic, employment, migrants

Sustainable Development (SD) is a rich, challenging and thought-provoking construct in social sciences. The main purpose of this paper was to identify and explore the role played by primary school teachers in building up the idea of sustainable development (SD) among students. This paper was intended to identify that how a teacher can successfully execute the concept of SD by influencing students’ minds at the primary level. Quantitative survey technique were utilized for data collection. All the primary school teachers of Lahore division comprised the population of the study. Through multistage sampling technique, 352 primary school teachers were selected as participants of the study. A self-developed SD questionnaire incorporating four major factors (teachers’ awareness, pedagogy, curricular and co-curricular activities) with Cronbach’s alpha value = .93 was used to measure the role of teachers in building the sustainability concept among students at primary level. The results indicated a significant mean score difference among SD scores of teachers, sector wise (private and public). Furthermore, the results also reconnoitered the significant difference (p=.04) between the mean scores of female and male teachers in building up the SD concept in students’ minds.

Studi memperkirakan emesis gravidarum terjadi pada 50-90% kehamilan. Mual muntah pada kehamilan memberikan dampak yang signifikan bagi tubuh dimana ibu menjadi lemah, pucat dan cairan tubuh berkurang sehingga darah menjadi kental (hemokonsentrasi). Keadaan ini dapat memperlambat peredaran darah dan berakibat pada kurangnya suplay oksigen serta makanan ke jaringan sehingga dapat membahayakan kesehatan ibu dan janin. Salah satu terapi yang aman dan dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi keluahan mual muntah pada ibu hamil adalah pemberian aromaterapi lemon. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas aroma terapi lemon untuk menangani emesis gravidarum. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Quasi experiment  dengan  one group pre-post test design. Populasi penelitian adalah ibu hamil yang mengalami emesis gravidarum di Kecamatan Berbah, Sleman. Jumlah sampel 20 ibu hamil trimester pertama yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengukuran mual muntah dilakukan debelum dan setelah  pemberian aromaterapi lemon menggunakan Indeks Rhodes. Analisa data menggunakan uji Paired t-test. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata skor mual muntah sebelum pemberian aromaterapi lemon berdasarkan Indeks Rhodes pada Ibu Hamil dengan emesis gravidarum yaitu 22,1 dan terjadi penurunan skor setelah pemberian aromaterapi lemon menjadi 19,8. Ada pengaruh pemberian aromaterapi lemon dengan pengurangan mual muntah pada ibu hamil (p-value = 0.017). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan pemberian aromaterapi lemon efektif untuk mengurangi emesis gravidarum pada ibu hamil trimester pertama.  Kata kunci: aromaterapi lemon, emesis gravidarum THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LEMON AROMATHERAPY FOR HANDLING EMESIS GRAVIDARUM   ABSTRACT Studies estimate that nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) occur in 50 – 90% of pregnancies. Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy have a significant impact on the body in which it makes a mother becomes weak, pale, and decreasing body fluid so that the blood becomes thick (hemoconcentration). This situation can slow down blood circulation and inflict the lack of oxygen and food supplies to the body tissues so that it can endanger the health of the mother and fetus. One of the therapies that is safe and can be conducted to reduce nausea and vomiting of pregnancy is by giving the lemon aromatherapy treatment. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of the aroma of lemon therapy to deal with emesis gravidarum. This study applied quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study was pregnant women who experienced emesis gravidarum. Furthermore, samples were 20 mothers from Berbah, Sleman taken by using a purposive sampling technique. Nausea and vomiting were assessed between before and after giving lemon aromatherapy using the Rhodes Index. The data were analyzed using the paired t-test. The mean score of nausea and vomiting before giving lemon aromatherapy on mother with emesis gravidarum based on the Rhodes Index was 22.1. However, it decreased after given lemon aromatherapy treatment to 19.8. Therefore, there was an effect on giving lemon aromatherapy treatment toward the decrease of nausea and vomiting for pregnant women (p-value = 0.017). Lemon aromatherapy is effective to reduce emesis gravidarum.  Keywords: lemon aromatherapy, emesis gravidarum

This study aims to reveal the influence of the use of Media Audio and Motivation Learning students to the Indonesian student learning outcomes through four formulation of the problem: (1) whether there is any influence student learning outcomes using audio media than the conventional way students learn?, (2) whether the student that have a high motivation using audio media to obtain higher learning outcomes than students to have high motivation to study by conventional means?, (3) whether students who have low motivation to learn by using audio media to obtain higher learning outcomes than students have low motivation to learn with the conventional way?, and (4) whether there is interaction between the use of audio media and students' motivation towards learning Indonesian? This research is a quasi experimental by treatment block. This research was conducted at SDN 001 Rumbai Pekanbaru semester odd years 2010/2011. Samples were taken with Porposive random sampling technique. Data were collected through the initial test and final test. Data were analyzed using t test and analysis of variance.The results of data analysis showed that: Students who studied on the basis of audio media to obtain higher learning outcomes than students who learn by conventional means. Students who have high motivation to learn with audio media to obtain higher learning outcomes than students who have high motivation to study by conventional means. Students who have low motivation to learn based on audio media to obtain higher learning outcomes than students who have low motivation to study by conventional means. There was no interaction between the audio media and students' motivation. It can be concluded that the audio media significantly influence student learning outcomes.

In current study, aim was to explore effective academic leadership in Pakistani higher education institutes. It was an attempt to understand how people in academia perceive effective academic leadership and what are the qualities expected in an effective academic leader? It was also attempted to explore if academicians feel that there is a crisis of leadership in Pakistani higher education institutes? What are the reasons and solution for this crisis situation? Purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample of teachers, students, and psychologists. Three focus groups were conducted one after another. Sample (N = 21) included 13 women and 8 men with age range 21-50 years. Sample was selected from different private and public universities and hospitals of Lahore. Emerging themes were analyzed using bottom up thematic analysis. Results indicated that an effective academic leader should have IQ and EQ, be visionary, and should bring everyone together. The participants mostly agreed that there is leadership crisis in Pakistani higher education institutes. They described various reasons for the crisis situation which mainly implied the responsibility to existing leaders, infrastructure, social decline, and policies.
