The objects, items, things that are most often used in the film texts of modern Russian cinema require close attention from the film culture point of view. The material world helps to realize the value of an object and its influence on the subject. The attitude to things and objects characterizes modern society from the point of view of order-chaos. Contemporary domestic film texts are interpreted by specialists and spectators, intended for a wide audience of the audience. A person is immersed in a system of symbols, and in cinema he seeks confirmation of this or that stable element of the virtual world, which he correlates with his real experience. Things, objects and objects can tell about the main thing, so they cannot be ignored, pass by this or that symbolic object.

The article raises the problem of post-truth that is interpreted in conceptual and praxeological dimensions. The author proves that post-truth is an information and political technology that operates through the use of mechanisms of mixing the true with the false, emotionalizing, politainment, populism, cognitive distortions of mass consciousness, actualization and objectification of desires in order to ensure the sympathy of a wide audience to its source, as well as the legitimization of a certain kind of policy and its subjects. In contrast to the truth, which correlates with objective truth, post-truth, presenting an alternative view and assessment of reality, relies on the irrational aspects of human consciousness and behavior, his/her selfish interests, finding justifications for its existence in the effectiveness and efficiency of its action. The assertion of post-truth as a single correct interpretation of reality is helped by the effect of the spiral of silence and the effect of cognitive dissonance. The attitude to post-truth is determined by the place in the structure of power relations that generate and maintain the corresponding narrative. From the standpoint of the subject, a post-truth narrative is defined by its effectiveness and efficiency. From the recipient’s point of view, a post-truth narrative is defined by its ability to satisfy desires, interests, and feelings. In the socio-political space, post-truth plays a role as a new type of propaganda, which justifies the morally questionable policy of future benefits of its implementation for the majority of society to the detriment of political rivals, as well as national and religious minorities. In fact, the era of post-truth is determined by the fact that politics ceases to focus on universal justice, becomes a politics of disregard for minorities and citizens of other countries.

Introduction. Property is a multifaceted phenomenon, so that, even within one science, there is no general concept that would reflect its meaning. At the same time, we are of the opinion that the most important aspects of property for modern society are economic and legal, despite the fact that property, first of all, was considered as a philosophical category. In scientific sources, the commonality of features that characterize the property on the legal side (possession, use and disposal), is called the legal (legal) category, and economic (the desire to own goods (both tangible and intangible), the relationship between owners, owner and direct producer of goods (subject-subject relations)) - economic category. The purpose of the paper is to consider the essence of property as an economic category. Results. Analyzing the category of «property» from an economic point of view, we can identify its basic basis: the relationship of different owners with each other, as well as owners and direct producers of goods. In the «owner – owner» relationship, we observe the economic process of exchange of goods. At the same time, the owner-non-owner relationship is non-economic, so it is not the subject of economists' research. The relationship between different owners, as well as owners and direct producers of goods is the material basis of our society. Conclusion. Property as an economic category is characterized by: first, the result of the manifestation of the subject of his will - the desire to own the goods of the world; secondly, goods both material and non-material; third, the social relations and interrelationships of the owners among themselves, as well as the owners and direct producers of goods.

The main problems of library science development in the context of modern civil and social changes are revealed: crudity of adequate methodology of scientific researches and of strategy of the activity which reflects new approaches to studying libraries and librarianship in the conditions of innovative transformations on the way to information society and knowledge economy. The transformation core is that the library becomes the subject of social and cultural reality construction on the basis of cardinal positioning change of the subject-subject relationship between readers and society. The realization of this program is possible on the ground of active systems interdisciplinary researches which should be based on the methodology of Post-Nonclassical science.

Today in a globalized society the need for word substitutions while speaking on sensitive topics has increased. People search for milder alternatives to express their opinions whenever they feel their words might sound abrupt or offensive. These substitutions are called euphemisms.

At first sight one might suppose that these expressions are too ordinary, but in fact they possess a strong persuasive character. Thus, the subject of this article is to identify the main functions of euphemisms in modern society. The article also aims at determining which social and cognitive factors regulate our choice of these substitutions.

In the theoretical part of the research different views on the phenomenon are outlined.

The main method used in this work is descriptive analytical method, based on the description of euphemisms from theoretical point of view with the subsequent analysis of achieved results. Besides, the method of contextual analysis has been applied.

As data for analysis different euphemistic expressions have been studied.

An overall study shows that in modern life honest debate has turned into a rare phenomenon.

One of our assertions is that the use of euphemisms primarily presupposing good intentions so as not to hurt a listener’s feelings, in modern life has acquired completely a different purpose. Today people use euphemisms to sound more persuasive instead of simply sounding polite.

It should be noted that for a deeper understanding of the role of euphemisms they should be studied within a specific discourse. Thus this study will require a further look at the problem applying a more contextual approach to its analysis.

The purpose of the article consists of exploring carnival as a form of “Entertainment” in Renaissance discourse. The research methodology consists in the application of analytical method - to determine the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the phenomenon of "Entertainment" in the discourse of Renaissance; formalization method - to formulate the concept of "Entertainment" within the subject field of art; we use historical and cultural method for studying the phenomenon of «Entertainment» as a form of individualization of collective experience on the example of carnival in the context of the Renaissance discourse. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time the essence of the phenomenon of “Entertainment” as a form of individualization of collective experience on the example of carnival in the context of the Renaissance culture. Conclusions. Since the late Middle Ages, the carnival has become a prominent phenomenon in the culture of laughter, offering an antithesis to the religious attitudes that monopolized culture and art. Carnival, as a form of «Entertainment» in the discourse of the Renaissance, contributes to the identification of laughter elements in the culture of the Renaissance and helps to determine the significance of the laughter aspects of socio-cultural processes for society as a whole. The body image, as the main image of the carnival, creates a tendency for organizing "mass laughter", that is, a category that is actively used in our time on the example of the KVN format, which has become all-encompassing in modern society. Carnival, from the point of view of the cognitive perspectives of historical and anthropological research, outlines the features of the mentality of a Renaissance person. The carnival, as a form of «Entertainment», created conditions for the individualization of the collective experience, which was reflected in the culture of laughter, that is, «another reality» at certain times every year. Carnival formulated a concentrated universalistic formula for life and historical process. A street style of speech and imagery was formed, which became the «implementation» of the opposition to the official culture of the Renaissance.

The article outlines the existing types of liability for smuggling, describes the current state of damage caused by their presence in modern society. Reveals the author's assessment and position on the need to clarify the content of certain categories of the conceptual apparatus, which is devoted to the degree of responsibility for offenses that have the features of smuggling. The research contains the author's proposal to introduce into the Criminal Code of Ukraine the conceptual categories of «criminal liability for smuggling», includes a justification for this action. Attention is paid to the existing legislative initiatives on combating smuggling and corruption during customs clearance of goods, their content is revealed. The author's vision of improving the situation with the reduction of smuggling crimes on the basis of the proposed proposals is presented. The chosen direction of the research is relevant as it is aimed not only at outlining the key aspects of criminal liability for smuggling, but above all at developing certain measures to improve the situation at customs. From a scientific point of view, the study needs modernization in terms of clarifying the content of certain categories of the conceptual apparatus of the subject of study. The conclusions of the study are as follows. First, there is a fairly modernized legal framework in Ukraine, which discloses the degree of responsibility of persons who have committed a criminal or administrative offense related to smuggling. Secondly, the legislator clearly distinguished between the measures of criminal and administrative liability of persons who participated in smuggling operations, and it is important that the legislator defined the boundaries of the transition from administrative to criminal liability. Thirdly, the research indicated the expediency of clarifying the content of certain categories of the conceptual apparatus of the subject of study, namely the concepts of «criminal liability for smuggling» (a type of legal liability that gives rise to criminal relations between special authorities and persons who violated customs rules that have signs of smuggling in particularly large amounts, which is individualized in the conviction of the court) and «administrative liability for smuggling» (a type of legal liability that arises during administrative relations between legal entities in the field of violation of customs rules, which have signs of smuggling and are subject to administrative penalties by administrative jurisdiction). Fourth, the authors propose to include in the measures to reduce the level of smuggling: increase the material security of border guards and customs officers, equip «problem» areas of the border with a system of covert round-the-clock surveillance, observation and professionally trained staff, etc.

The paper analyses the influence of selfies on public performance. Contemporary media public is called by some theorists (Rojek, 2015) the “egocentric public”, primarily the users of social networks. Hedonism, consumption and egoism are only some of the characteristics of the modern society, which also points to the characteristics of visual culture. From a philosophical viewpoint as one of the phenomena of visual culture to which special attention is given starting with psychologists, art theorists and communication agents, and all the way to philosophers, the selfie supports the hypothesis that individualism is characteristic to contemporary culture. The paper examines the performance strength of the selfie (Senft, Baym, 2015) as well as the characteristics of the modern media public. The methods include the analytical and descriptive methods. The conclusion is that the selfie confirms that contemporary culture is dominated by individualism and that, from a pragmatic point of view, the contemporary media public belongs to the “culture of selfies“ in which the subject simultaneously becomes an object emphasizing narcissism and the illusionary focus on the other.
