The Catholic Church in the Polish lands in the XIX century has had numerous charity works. The charitable activities were seen as the task of God's commandment of love. The purpose of this activity was to support poor people in the form of satisfying basic material needs and achieving adequate personal development. The article discusses the most important forms of assistance provided by religious orders, as well as clerical and lay organizations. The author draws attention to the charity's impact on education and the formation of humanistic values in society. Many priests set up organisations that had such names as: “Star”, “Aurora”, “Fatherland”, “Rock”. Their main objective was to raise up education standards and stimulate patriotism and solidarity among young people. Therefore, cooperation between educational institutions, families, non-governmental organizations, volunteer movements, charitable foundations for the expansion of active charitable activities, and the creation of a humanistic society is required. Nowadays it is extremely important to revive philanthropy and altruism in every country. Currently, there are foundations, organizations aimed at carrying out charitable activities and attracting to the charity all who wish to serve the cause of raising Christian morality, culture, education, art, support of the poor. Thus, this is important to promote it in the educational field as well. After all, many young people are ready to help financially or spiritually those who need it; they seek to invest time, money and talent into a rapidly growing charity. Here we see an important role of the Catholic Church, which influences the development of the spirituality of the individual.

The future of mankind will depend on the ability of the individual to acquire Self-knowledge. The preservation of autonomy of the individual is supported by learning to fathom one's own unconscious and inner being, the undiscovered self. By consciously developing Self-knowledge the possibility originates for the individual to make his own conscious choices and to understand an other human being. It often takes a great deal of effort from an individual to consciously open up to his inner being. Gaining experiences related to intra-personal development and consciously reflecting on those experiences, is essential to keep the conscious intra-personal development process in motion. Education can lend a helping hand during this process, from the start of the school career of children, by making room in the curriculum for affective and experiential education. Theory disturbs the experiential orientation and the focus on emotions. Offer affective and experiential education to children from an early age, with plenty of personal room, and continuing this form of education until they leave school, supports young people to become more and more self-directing. The way in which this form of education is taken care for is crucial for its success.

The article deals with the problem of personality functioning in the conditions of modern uncertainty and variability. This research focuses on the relationship between tolerance to uncertainty and psychological boundaries of personality in youth. The concepts of tolerance and intolerance to uncertainty, psychological boundaries are considered; the relationship between the considered constructs is substantiated. An empirical study of the specifics of the relationship between tolerance to uncertainty and the functions of psychological boundaries of young people is conducted. During the experiment, the following methods were used:» New questionnaire of tolerance-intolerance to uncertainty «(T. V. Kornilova),» Method of diagnostics of psychological borders of personality « (T. S. Levi). The experimental study revealed the predominance of tolerance to uncertainty (including interpersonal tolerance to uncertainty) and the lack of formation of the psychological border in the period of youth. The relationship between the following indicators is established: non-admitting, restraining functions of psychological boundaries and interpersonal tolerance to uncertainty; tolerance to uncertainty and a combination of high values for non-admitting, restraining and low values for permeable, neutral, absorbing functions of psychological boundaries. The results of the study indicate inflexibility, maladaptivity, rigidity, impenetrability and closeness of psychological boundaries of young people, difficulties in exchanging information and energy between the external and internal space, perception of uncertainty as a threat, avoiding situations of inconsistency and variability, and avoiding contacts. The identified features contribute to the growth of stagnating trends, victimization, and hinder personal development and growth. The results obtained can be used to build programs for psychological and pedagogical support of young people in terms of activating their internal psychological resources necessary for effective functioning in the conditions of continuous challenges of everyday reality.

"The problem of motivation is one of the most important in determining the driving mechanisms that force a person to learn, work, master something new. Motivation to work is one of the key elements of challenging yourself on the way to self-development. Motivation has deep psychological and moral roots and is a complex multifaceted phenomenon that often defies logical comprehension. In addition, it is an ephemeral, elusive thing; it is not a permanent feature of a person in one or another area of his activity. Accordingly, it is the problem of origin, retention, and in a good scenario of strengthening the motivation that is in one of the first place among the tasks that modern teachers face. Rapid scientific and technological development and progress in various fields of knowledge, new scientific and technical discoveries and the need for new high-tech developments require specialists with a high level of education and high-quality professional training. This applies not only to scientific and technical spheres, but also to natural-applied and humanitarian areas. All this makes higher education today a prestigious and extremely attractive goal for most young people, making young people use their studies at a university as a social lift for further personal development and career development. At the same time, a situation is observed when entering universities, many young people are faced with a serious problem of lack of motivation to learn, or they are demotivated in the learning process, which often leads to a very low level of quality of their studies, and sometimes makes them interrupt study for academic leave or give it up completely. Pedagogical science has accumulated a wealth of experience in studying this problem, however, the modern challenges of a changing world require pedagogy to constantly monitor changes and search for new approaches to solving the problems that students have in the course of obtaining higher education. The authors study this problem, taking as an example Russia, which is a country at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, where features of European and Eastern culture are combined in people. The authors approached the issue from several important angles. The article analyzes the socio-economic and political characteristics that affect the motivation for learning among young people. Particular attention is paid to the state of the current Russian society, spiritual and moral guidelines of young people, their goals and views on life and their own future. The authors emphasize the importance of family, religion and spiritual and moral development in the issue of motivation to work and study. The authors come to the conclusion that the problem of lack of motivation is based on a combination of reasons, but its root is primarily in the family upbringing of the student, as well as in his moral component and emotional and psychological maturity of the individual. The article provides an overview and some of the changes in student motivation associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and online learning. It is important to note that in the course of their research, the authors relied on their many years of experience in teaching at higher educational institutions in Russia."

The article is devoted to the analysis of the turning point in the perception of late activity of A.I. Herzen by Russian society. The authors note that the sixties of the XIX century are naturally considered the time of decisive changes in the life of Russian society, and in Russian culture their sign was the progressive separation of literary forces according to the ideological principle. The article considers the acute controversy that happened in the cultural life of the 1860s between the London publicist, publications of M. N. Katkov (“Modern Chronicle”, “Russian Herald”) and the newspaper of P. S. Usov “Severnaya pchela." An ideological-free analysis of key articles written during the controversy (“Letter to Katkov and Leontiev”, “Young and Old Russia”, “Journalists and Terrorists” by A. I. Herzen, “Our Foreign réfugiés”, “Note for the publisher of “Kolokol” M. N. Katkov, the forerunner of “Severnaya pchela”, which today are convincingly attributed as belonging to N. S. Leskov), allows you to identify important differences in the socio-cultural positions of representatives of the “conservative” bodies of the domestic press and draw conclusions about copyright strategies for creating journalistic statements. The article draws conclusions about the influence of this controversy on the social and literary fate of writers, it is noted that the controversy with Katkov anticipated a sharp cooling to Herzen of Russian society in the following 1863, when, after the publisher of “Kolokol” supported the Polish uprising, the newspaper's circulation fell sharply to 500 copies, equally significant was the controversy of 1862 for Leskov, whose only beginning literary path almost came to an end as a result of harassment by the “progressive” press, and in the mind of the writer, the name Herzen began to be forever associated with the St. Petersburg fires, the imposing frivolity of revolutionary agitators and the sacrificed lives of young fanatics, which was reflected not only in the subsequent “Herzen” essays of Leskov, but also in his artistic prose. In this regard observations on Leskov's articles are especially relevant, the originality of the early journalism of which still remains a little-studied phenomenon of Russian culture.

The author analyzes the idea of forming a new spiritual and ecological type of civilization, which attracts the attention of many researchers, in particular, A. V. Ivanov and Yu. V. Popkov, whose paper “Spiritual and ecological civilizational perspective: the value potential of young people in the Siberian context” was published in the previous issue. It is noted that the often encountered skepticism towards this idea, including on the part of young people, is due not so much to objective reasons as to the inability to comprehensively understand the processes taking place in the world, which indicate not only the lack of alternatives to such a civilizational turn at the moment, but also the appearance of signs of this turn. Proving this thesis, based on the formation and development of the “green economy”, is the purpose of this article. Accordingly, the novelty of the study consists in identifying the socio-cultural and moral foundations of the “green economy” and substantiating their role in the global civilizational transformation. The main methods used in this study are: the systemic-structural approach in the analysis of the concept of the “green economy”; socio-philosophical analysis of the problems of consumer ideology (based, first of all, on the works by E. Fromm); the elements of the historical-genetic method when considering the formation of ecological culture. The author emphasizes that the concept of “green economy” has firmly entered the scientific circulation over the past decades, and the phenomena and processes behind it have become a global trend; at the same time, an increasing number of authors consider the “green economy” as uncontested, primarily in connection with the growing global environmental crisis. The main conclusions of the study consist, firstly, in identifying one of the main problems of the development of the “green economy” associated with the slow formation of an ecological worldview and ecological culture. Secondly, the thesis is substantiated that the ecological worldview, in turn, is full and stable only when it is based on more general moral attitudes and values, which underlie the idea of a spiritual and ecological civilization and gradually transform the main spheres of human life activity. Thirdly, it is noted that the formation of this new type of civilizational relations is not guaranteed and requires conscious joint efforts of peoples and countries, without which there is every reason to expect gradual degradation of both the natural environment and society. This is especially significant for Siberia, the increasing role of which in the development of future civilization is becoming increasingly recognized in Russian society.
