The aim of the article is to study the morphological features of the thymus of the white rats exposed to the inhalation of formaldehyde.Material and methods. 72 white male rats with an initial body weight of 130–150 g were were exposed to formaldehyde at a concentration of 2.766 mg/m3. Exposures were carried out once a day during 60 minutes. Exposure durations were 10, 20, 30, 60 and 90 days. We separately studied the thymus of rats, which, after 60 days of exposure to formaldehyde, were kept for 30 days in standard vivarium conditions (rehabilitation group). The structure of the thymus was studied by light microscopy.Results. The number of cells in an area of 2500 μm2 of the subcapsular zone in animals exposed to formaldehyde for 10, 20, and 30 days was 131.19±4.20, 135.65±7.74, and 135.35±10.83, respectively, which was less than the control set by 4.35%, 4.68% and 3.72%, respectively. After 40 and 60 days, this indicator was below the control by 8.90% and 9.63%.Conclusion. Inhalation of formaldehyde reduces the area of the thymus cortex. Phenomena of inversion of the cortex and the medulla are observed. Under the influence of formaldehyde, a picture of so called «starry sky» is observed in the cortical substance of the thymus. A decrease in the severity of changes in the thymus of rats belonging to the rehabilitation group, in comparison with animals that received 90 exposures, indicates that the changes are reversible.

Introduction. Experimental studies in animals have shown ultrastructural changes in hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells, tissue hypoxia of the kidneys, changes in the activity of oxidative processes and antioxidant enzymes, the formation of bioenergetic hypoxia, cell response in the form of infiltration of both lymphoid and macrophage cells to develop due to exposure to vibration. However, there is almost no data about the status of animals’ organs in the post-contact period. Material and methods. The study was carried out in white male rats weighing 220-240 g, were exposed to 40 Hz vibration for 60 days 5 times a week for 4 hours a day. Histological and morphometric analysis was used to assess the sensorimotor cortex tissue and hepatorenal system. Results. A decrease in the total number of brain neurons, astraglial cells in rats in 30, 60 and 120 days of the post-exposure period was found. There was hyperemia in the portal and Central veins, an increase in the number of Kupffer cells in the liver tissue at the 30th, 60th, 120th day after the exposure. Decrease in the area of the Shumlyansky-Bowman capsule was recorded in the experimental rats’ kidney tissue 30 days after the end of vibration exposure; though there were no differences in the number of renal bodies in the tissue of white rats of the experimental and control groups at 60th and 120th day after the end of exposure to vibration. Conclusion. Morphological changes in the tissues of white rats exposed to prolonged vibration presented in the form of a decrease in the total number of neurons and astroglia cells in the brain tissue, a pronounced macrophage response in the liver tissue have been preserved in the post-contact period following the exposure to vibration.

Introduction. Removal of the left and right lateral lobes of the liver in white rats leads to postresection portal hypertension, which is characterized by dilation and plethora of the hepatic portal vein, mesenteric veins, esophageal and gastric veins, veins of the anterior abdominal wall, splenomegaly, ascites and multiorgan failure. Objective of the research: to study the features of remodeling of the structures of the atria at postresection portal hypertension histostereometrically. Materials of the research and their discussion. The peculiarities of remodeling the structures of the atria were histostoreometrically studied in 65 adult white male rats, which were divided into 3 groups: the 1- consisted of 20 intact animals, the 2 – 30 rats with postresection portal hypertension, which was modeled by removal of the left and right lateral lobes of the liver, the 3 – 15 animals with postresection portal hypertension and multiorgan failure. One month after the start of the experiment, rats were euthanized by bloodletting under conditions of thiopental anesthesia. Histological micropreparations were used to determine the diameters of cardiomyocytes of the left and right atria, diameters of their nuclei, nuclear-cytoplasmic relations, relative volumes of cardiomyocytes, capillaries, stroma, stromal-cardiomyocyte, capillary-cardiomyocyte relations, relative volumes of damaged cardiomyocytes. Quantitative indicators were processed statistically. Results of the research and their discussion. Histostereometrically, it was found that postresection portal hypertrophy leads to hypertrophy of atrial cardiomyocytes, their nuclei, growth of stromal structures, relative volumes of damaged cardiomyocytes, disorders of tissue and cellular structural homeostasis. The revealed features of remodeling of the studied structures dominated in the left atrium at combination of postresection portal hypertension with multiorgan failure. Conclusions. Postresection portal hypertension leads to pronounced remodeling of the structures of the left and right atria, characterized by hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes, changes in their nuclear-cytoplasmic relations, an increase of the relative volume of stroma, damaged cardiomyocytes, pronounced disorders of tissue and cellular structural  homeostasis. The revealed morphological changes dominated in the left atrium at combination of postresection portal hypertension with multiorgan failure.

The aim of the paper is to study thymus variability in white rats, which were exposed to formaldehyde, and to compare these data with the indicators in control animals. Materials and Methods. The trial enrolled 72 white male rats, initial body weight 40–50 g. The animals were divided into 2 groups (36 rats in each). The first group consisted of control rats. Animals of the second group were exposed to formaldehyde inhalation, 2.766 mg/m3. To characterize the variability of the organ size, centroids were determined. The superposition of landmark configurations was performed using the generalized Procrustes analysis method, MorphoJ 1.06d program. The principal component analysis and canonical analysis of the obtained data were carried out. Results. One-Way ANOVA revealed a high level of intergroup differences in Procrust distance (F=1.34; p<0.0001). The significant effect of the duration of formaldehyde exposure on centroid size was established. The Kruskal-Wallis criterion was 19.778 (p=0.0014). The analysis of the principal components indicated that each of the first 10 components stands for more than 1 % of Procrustes coordinate variance. In this case, the first 7 components compatibly explain 91.398 % of thymus variability. The proportion of the first main component to the total variance of the Procrustes coordinates is 40.236 %. PC1 (-) shows changes in the thymus shape, mostly affecting the tops of its lobes, the middle part of the right boundary and the entire left thymus boundary. The scattering ellipses of the thymus ordinates in rats exposed to formaldehyde, in the first two canonical variables are located higher than those in the control animals. Conclusion. Formaldehyde inhalation leads to thymus changes in white rat. The most significant differences with control data are determined along the second canonical variable. Keywords: thymus, form, rat, formaldehyde, geometric morphometry.

The experiments were performed on 58 males of nonlinear white rats 3–4 months old and weighing 180–200 g and 64 females of nonlinear white mice 2.5–3 months old and weighing 18–22 g. In the main experiment on rats, six experimental groups were formed, the animals of which were injected intragastrically with the drug ‘MEGASTOP for dogs’ (by absolute weight) in doses of 1,000.0, 2,000.0, 3,000.0, 4,000.0, 5,000.0, and 6,000.0 mg/kg body weight; in the main experiment on mice, seven experimental groups were formed, the animals of which were administered the drug in doses of 100.0, 500.0, 1,000.0, 1,500.0, 2,000.0, 2,500.0, and 3,000.0 mg/kg body weight. Control rats and mice were injected with 2.0 cm3 and 0.2 cm3 of polyethylene glycol-400, respectively. Clinical symptoms of poisoning with the drug ‘MEGASTOP for dogs’ of white rats (at doses of 2,000.0–6,000.0 mg/kg body weight) and mice (at doses of 1,000.0–3,000.0 mg/kg body weight) were refusals of food and water, loss of coordination, sitting in one place, a dose-dependent increase in depression with subsequent complete depression, lack of response to external stimuli and death on the first or fourth day after administration. During autopsy in rats and mice that died as a result of poisoning with the drug ‘MEGASTOP for dogs’, we recorded pallor of the mucous membranes of the mouth, trachea, pharynx, and esophagus; increase in heart volume, atrial blood supply; pulmonary hyperemia; uncoagulated blood; increase in liver volume, dark cherry color, flabby consistency; catarrhal inflammation of the mucous membrane of the small intestine. According to the results of determining the parameters of acute toxicity of the drug ‘MEGASTOP for dogs’ in the case of a single intragastric injection, LD50 for male rats is 3,384.98 ± 444.94 mg/kg, and for female mice — 2,025.88 ± 279.46 mg/kg body weight, which allows to classify it to class IV by the toxicity — low-toxic substances (LD50 — 501–5,000 mg/kg) and by the degree of danger to class III— moderately dangerous substances (LD50 — 151–5,000 mg/kg)

The rational organization and implementation of effective disinfection activities plays an important role in the complex of measures for the prevention of infections. The development and introduction of new disinfectants into production is an urgent issue of modern poultry farming. When developing a disinfectant, it is important to determine the cumulative effect of the drug. The purpose of the study was to determine the cumulative and skin-resorptive action of the disinfectant “Zoоdizin”. For the toxicological study of the drug used healthy white male rats and white female rats weighing 200 ± 10 g 1.5 years of age. To study the toxicity of the drug “Zoоdizin” when applied to the skin used the method of immersion of the tails of rats in a test tube with the test substance. The tail was injected 2/3 into a regular tube with a 5 % solution of the drug “Zoоdizin”. The tube was closed with a cork ring whose diameter was slightly larger than the tail diameter. For 15 days, the tubes were placed daily in a water bath at 28–30 °C for 2 hours. Control animals tails were immersed in distilled water. To establish the local action of the drug “Zoodizin” on the mucous membranes of the study drug was introduced into the conjunctival sac of the right eye of the rabbit at a dose of 50 mg, and in the left eye was buried saline in a volume of 0,05 cm3. When studying the cumulative effect of Zoоdizin, no significant changes in the biochemical parameters in the serum of rats were observed. In the study of possible irritant or damaging effect on the skin and the development of contact non-allergic dermatitis found that a single application of disinfectant “Zoоdizin” on the unaffected skin of the back of white rats in the maximum significant recommended concentration of working solutions (2 %) did not cause signs. The single effect of the drug on the intact areas of the skin did not cause skin irritation, but it can be stated that prolonged daily epicutaneous exposure of high concentration (5 %) of the solution of the drug “Zoоdizin”, which is 2.5 times higher than the maximum recommended concentration, caused a general resorption. When assessing the cumulative properties, it was taken into account that the total dose administered to rats was Zodizin 42000 mg/kg body weight and did not result in animal death. It did not allow to calculate the cumulative coefficients for the “lethal effect”. A single effect of the product on the intact areas of the skin did not cause skin irritation, but it can be stated that prolonged daily epicutaneous exposure of a high concentration (5 %) of the Zodizin solution, which is 2.5 times the maximum recommended concentration, caused a general resorption. In the future, it is planned to study the virulidal properties of the biocide “Zoоdizin”.

Introduction. Historically, pesticides are evaluated more strictly from a medical point of view than other chemicals. Since their features, such as deliberate introduction into the environment, the possibility of contact with them by large masses of the population, and the high biological activity determine their potential danger to humans. Purpose of research - study of the biological effect of a technical product derived from triazoles when it is repeatedly ingested orally in mammals (rats), establishment of inactive and active doses, justification of the permissible daily dose (DSD) for humans. Material and methods. In acute experiments, white rats were used, including 6 animals in the group. Tested dose: 500-4000 mg/kg of body weight. A chronic (12 months) experiment was performed on 80 male rats with a bodyweight of 180-190 g at the beginning of the study. Tested doses: 5.0; 16.0 and 55.0 mg/kg of body weight (1 control and 3 experimental animals, 20 individuals each). In the dynamics of the experiment, we observed the condition and behavior of animals, water, and food consumption, recorded the timing of death, changes in body weight, physiological, biochemical, and hematological indices. Results. Indices of the acute oral toxicity on the studied product LD50 male rats were 2250 ± 483 mg/kg body weight. The dose of 5.0 mg / kg of body weight was not found to cause significant changes in all studied indices. The doses of 16.0 and 55.0 mg/kg of body weight had a polytropic effect on the body in experimental animals. Discussion. The studied product for the acute oral toxicity refers to low-hazard compounds, the doses of 16.0 and 55.0 mg/kg of body weight has a polytropic effect on the mammalian body, causing changes in carbohydrate, lipid, and lipoprotein metabolism in the body of rats - was accepted as acting. The dose of 5.0 mg / kg of body weight, when administered in rats, there are no changes in all the studied parameters throughout the experiment, is accepted as invalid. Based on the inactive dose-5.0 mg/kg of body weight and taking into account the reserve factor of 100, we have scientifically justified DSD for a person at the level of 0.05 mg/kg. Summary. The conducted sanitary and Toxicological studies indicate the need to assess the toxicity of new technical products to the mammalian body, to increase the reliability of the developed hygiene standards in environmental objects and food products.

The morphological condition of the bile ducts remains one of the most important problems of modern medical science. In order to obtain an analgesic effect in patients with acute cholangitis, opioids are often used. However, information on the effectiveness of opioids in the treatment of pathological conditions of the bile ducts is contradictory. The rapidly progressive destruction of the intrahepatic bile ducts associated with the use of narcotic agents has been described. Further study of the effect of opioids on the structural organization of the common bile duct is relevant. In order to establish the morphological state of the common bile duct under conditions of long-term opioid exposure, a study was performed on 24 sexually mature white male rats, aged 3.5-5.0 months and weighing 180-200 g, which were injected intramuscularly with Nalbuphine for 6 weeks. The study material is represented by histological specimens of the common bile duct of white rats. The “Aver Media” computer system was used to photograph microspecimens. The “ImageJ” computer program was used to measure the diameter of the lumen and the wall thickness of the common bile duct. After 2 weeks of Nalbuphine administration to white rats, plethora of wall microvessels and a significant increase in the longitudinal diameter of the lumen of the common bile duct were observed. After 4 weeks of the experiment, the common bile duct was dilated, the transverse and longitudinal diameters of its lumen almost doubled, pathological changes in its wall had all the signs of inflammation. In the later stages of the experiment (introduction of Nalbuphine for 6 weeks), the pathological changes increased and manifested by destructuring the wall of the common bile duct, disorganization of cholangiocytes, thinning of the cell layer due to detachment of cholangiocytes, polymorphism of their nuclei, destruction of intercellular junctions, stratification of its own plate, vacuolar dystrophy of the muscular membrane “varicose” expansion of venules, significant smooth muscle hyperplasia of arterioles, the presence of perivascular lymphocytic infiltrates in the duct wall.

Kata Kunci: Sel spermatozoa, Kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.),                    Tikus jantan Wistar (Rattus novergicus) THE INFLUENCE OF THE ETHANOL EXTRACTS  OF GRANTING HIBISCUS (Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis L.) AGAINST THE NUMBER OF SPERMATOZOA, WEIGHT AND THE WEIGHT OF THE TESTES MALE WISTAR RATS (Rattus norvegicus) ABSTRACTThis research’s objective is to know the influence of injecting ethanol extract from a hibiscus into a number of common male rats (Rattus norvegicus). This research uses the approach of complete randomized design (CRD) onto 24 common white rats (Rattus norvegicus) that is divided into groups, where group 1’s approach is control without treatment, groups 2, 3, and 4’s approach is with treatment, with consecutive doses being 3.6 mg/ml; 7.2 mg/ml; and 14.4 mg/ml.  The treatment is induced orally as large as 1cc per day for a total of 50 days following the spermatogenesis cycle. The variables that are being observed are the amount of spermatozoon cells, body weight, and testicle weight. The results of this research indicates that ethanol extract from hibiscuses, from a quantity perspective, can decrease spermatozoon cells, and it may also influence the body weight and testicle weight of the subject, in this case are common rats (Rattus norvegicus) but, from the mathematical results from Analysis Of Variance, ethanol extract from the leaves of a hibiscus cannot decrease the amount of spermatozoon, body weight, and testicle weight  of a common white rat (Rattus norvegicus). Keywords: Spermatozoon Cells, Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.), Common (white) rat (Rattus novergicus)

Introduction. Today, obesity is an extremely common phenomenon that negatively affects on the functional state of the organism, metabolism, and this in turn leads to the increase of a number of diseases. The thyroid gland has a significant effect on lipid metabolism, and especially negative in the case of iodine deficiency in the diet, which leads to hypothyroidism. Comparative study of the effect of various iodine-derived lipid metabolism in obesity is perspective. The aim of the study – to investigate the comparative affect of biologically active iodine in the composition of “Jodis-Concentrate” and inorganic iodine (J-C) as a part of “Iodomarine” on the indicators of lipid metabolism in blood of white male rats with experimental alimentary obesity.Research Methods. The object of the study was the blood serum of white rats, and the subject – separate indicators of lipid metabolism in it. The study was conducted on 48 white male rats. Animals were divided into 3 age groups of 16 animals in each: 1st group – 1.5 months; 2nd – 2.5 months; 3rd – 5th month. In each age group there were 4 subgroups of 4 animals: 1st – control, had a typical diet; 2nd, 3rd and 4th subgroup were with experimental alimentary obesity (EAO), which was formed through the inductor food craving – the sodium salt of glutamic acid in a ratio of 0.6 : 100.0 and high-calorie diet that included standard meals (47 %), sweet condensed milk (44 %), corn oil (8 %) and vegetable starch (1 %). Daily for 45 days, animals of the 3rd subgroup received biologically active iodine in the composition of “Jodis-Concentrate” (J-C) as of 0.1 ml (0.4 mcg of iodine) per kg of body weight a day and 4th subgroup were intragastric administered in the form of inorganic iodine as potassium iodide in medicine “Iodomarin” (IM) as of 0.4 mcg of potassium iodide per kg of body weight a day. In the serum blood, the content of total lipids, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high and low density lipoprotein were determined. Results and Discussion. The obtained results suggest that with the help of biologically active iodine in the composition of “Jodis-Concentrate” there was a significant decrease of the content of common lipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein in blood serum of males with different age than with “Iodomarin”.Conclusions. Given the effective results of the study of the hypolipidemic effect of J-C it is advisable to use it as a preventive and therapeutic agent for reducing the content of common lipids of triglycerides, total cholesterol, and low density lipoproteins in the blood.
