Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is a widespread leguminous crop. It is used for food purposes, as well as concentrated high-protein feed  for  farm animals.  In addition  to a great nutrition value, a balanced amino acid composition and an excellent  taste,  it  is peas that is capable to produce large grain yields even in the risky arable zone, which most of the territory of our country belongs to. The development of the new high-protein, productive pea varieties that most fully realize the soil-climatic potential and meet the requirements of agricultural production is an urgent concern of breeders. The purpose of the current study was to develop a new pea variety, adapted for cultivation in the Republic of Bashkortostan. There has been estimated the collection peas material on morphobiological and economically valuable traits. The best varieties have been used for hybridization. Among the hybridized breeding forms there has been identifed the line “L-31315/14” which possesses economically valuable traits. In 2019, this line was sent to the State Variety Testing as the variety “Pamyati Popova”. The new variety was bred by multiple individual selection from a hybrid population “K-7992” (Korea) × “Barbel”. The variety “Pamyati Popova” is a middle ripening variety with 64–78 days of vegetation period. The kernels contain 20.7–22.4% of protein. The variety is of good taste and cooking properties. Its disease and pests’ resistance is similar to that of the standard variety. According to the Competitive Variety Testing, the average yield increase of the variety “Pamyati Popova” was on 3.9 hwt/ha in 2016–2019. The largest kernel yield of the variety was 26.9 hwt/ha in 2017.

The selection of carrots in Russia is carried out by FSBSI FSVC, Agroholding «Poisk», LLC «Breeding station named after N.N. Timofeeva» and others. The purpose of the work is to select the initial material and create new pollinating lines for carrots with the simultaneous refinement of those in the genetic collection of the ARRIVG- a branch of the FSBSI FSVC. The studies were carried out in 2011-2019 in the conditions of the Moscow region on the experimental base and in the selection center of the ARRIVG - a branch of the FSBSI FSVC. The material for the work was varieties and hybrids of domestic and foreign selection, breeding material obtained from interline and intervarietal crosses. The breeding work was carried out by the method of multiple inbreeding (up to I3-4). As the breeding material worked out for resistance to Alternariaand Fusarium, morphological uniformity, they switched to sib crosses. The breeding process for the creation of new pollinator lines was carried out in the nursery of the source material and the breeding nursery. As a result of breeding work, 14 new lines-pollinators of carrots were obtained and 4 lines, which are available in the genetic collection of the ARRIVG- a branch of the FSBSI FSVC, were modified. Most of the pollinator lines (5 pcs.) belong to the Kuroda variety type, four - Berlikum/Nantes, three each - Berlikum, Flakke, two - Chantenay, one - Nantes. The total yield of the lines varies from 70.9 to 110.0 t/ha. The highest yield was formed by lines 93-2, 98, 56-2. Significant limits of β-carotene content (11.1 - 16.8 mg%) are associated with the origin of the lines. It was noted that inbred lines obtained from the source material of foreign selection contain less β-carotene. Six lines are late maturing, ten are mid-maturing, two are early maturing. As a result of the assessment of inbred lines for resistance to fungal diseases, it was found that 16 lines belong to weakly susceptible on infectious and natural backgrounds, two lines are moderately susceptible: 805 - according to the infectious background Alternaria, REW - according to two infectious backgrounds. On a natural background, all lines are weakly receptive.

Relevance. The purpose of the research was to produce a new medium-ripe, high-yielding variety of vegetable peas with the usual type of leaf to expand the variety in the now used conveyor variety selection of the Krymsk EBS VIR Branch.Materials and methods. The experience was laid on the fields of the Krymsk EBS VIR Branch (Russia, Krasnodar Region, Krymsk) in 2019-2020. Varieties and strain were evaluated in a competitive variety testing. Sowing was carried out with a selection seeder SKS-6-10. The plot area was 10 m2 , the experiment was repeated four times. In the phase of technical ripeness, the sheaves were selected for description and the yield was taken into account. The conservation of green peas was done at the Tech Evaluation Lab.Results. Competitive variety testing in the mid-ripeness group was held by two strains 2014/7 and 344/16. The strain 2014/17 for green pea yields surpassed the standard "Parus" and G-344/16 in both years of study. Fresh and processed green peas were rated by the Tasting Commission at 5.0 and 4.8 points, respectively. High yield is achieved due to the paired beans on the peduncle and a large number of grains in the bean, up to 10 pieces. The grain in technical ripeness has a dark green color and the linear dimensions are 9.0x8.1 mm. In biological maturity, the seeds are intensely green, angular-compressed with a mass of 1000 pieces. 188-225 g.Conclusion. The results of field and laboratory analyses carried out on the complex of economicvaluable characteristics made it possible to distinguish the strain 2014/7, which in 2020 was transferred to the State Variety Testing under the name "Patriot". It is recommended as a supplement to the existing set of vegetable pea varieties of the Krymsk EBS VIR Branch in the mid-ripe group.

In Russia, in the Republic of Yakutia, there is the only point in the world where natural intergeneric hybridization of species of the genera Sorbus and Cotoneaster is observed, resulting in the formation of a new hybridogenic genus ×Sorbocotoneaster with a rich polymorphism of parental genera traits. For the selection of mountain ash in Siberia, it is promising to involve Sorbocotoneaster genotypes in artificial hybridization as sources of a complex of economically valuable traits, including winter hardiness, short stature, and self-fertility. Artificial hybridization of the tetraploid selective form Sorbocotoneaster with selected forms and varieties of Sorbus sibirica, S. aucuparia, S. sambucifolia and their hybrids allows obtaining viable hybrid offspring in combinations where Sorbocotoneaster is used as a pollen donor.

Relevance. The breeding process in identifying new species and flexible capabilities allows the use of genetic sources for the most important economically valuable traits. Market requirements to expand the assortment of cucumber are determined both directly and new approaches to the study of the gene pool and its use. In turn, the domestic market is not always predictable and logical. Thus, the issue of a comprehensive study of the sorting of a gunshot and smooth type of fruit for growing in film unheated greenhouses in order to isolate genetically valuable material for breeding work remains relevant.Materials and methods. The studies were carried out in 2015-2018 on the basis of a pumpkin crop laboratory of the Research Institute of Vegetable Production (NIISOK), of the Gavrish breeding station in Moscow, Krymsk (Krasnodar Territory), the Gavrish Jordanian Experimental Station. Research material – 34 different types of origin from the NIISOK collection. The work used both traditional methods of assessment and modern methods of molecular marking. The purpose of the work is the selection of breeding valuable source material for creating parthenocarpic lines of a cucumber with a smooth type of fruit, a complex of economically significant features, and resistance to disease.Results. The results of variety testing of 20 hybrids of foreign selection on the territory of the Krasnodar Territory (Krymsk) and Jordan are presented. A comparative assessment was made of the inter-varietal and ecological variability of productivity and yield of the studied samples of cucumber culture. Based on the results of studying the modern assortment of hybrids in different regions (Krymsk, Jordan), the optimal parameters of the parthenocarpic hybrid model of a cucumber with a smooth type of fruit adapted to specific growing conditions are determined.
