Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate how the city is influenced by the ritual of Muharram. The main research question is: what is the relationship between the city and the ritual of Muharram? To answer this question, we examined different intangible layers of this ritual heritage. This study is based on the three components of the sense of place. The research method is qualitative and a context-oriented approach is adopted. The context of the study is the historical texture of the city of Gorgan, Iran. The data were collected through library research and immediate observation. Next, content analysis and data coding were used to obtain a set of thematic categories. The results suggest that, as a kind of ritual-social behavior, the ritual of Muharram has had remarkable, enduring effects on the city over centuries. The non-urban-development dimension has thus allowed for the formation of sense of place in the relationship between people and the urban environment through a different process.

The research method used is a qualitative research based on content analysis approach, with the aim to be able to explore the theory of alamin used in this study. The results found that interaction was formed by the existence of one of the most basic objectives in communication, namely necessity. This concept can be understood that everything needed by humans, then must have a process of relationships in the form of interaction to be able to achieve whatever objects are needed. But the interaction process is different. Therefore human interactions have two goals. First, human interaction with the creator called the relationship X with Y. This interaction is carried out by X to Y in the form of a relationship as creator to X, provider of living facilities to X, trustee Y, and X servant Y. Second is human interaction with the universe this is called the relationship X with Z. This interaction is carried out by X to Z in the form of a Z relationship as a reference for X, a provider of mass space for X, a power provider for X, and a proof of space for the implementation of the X assignment.

IntroductionContent analysis, although firstly introduced in social sciences as a qualitative research method, has become a popular method for inquiry in healthcare sciences, including emergency and critical care nursing.AimThe aim of content analysis is to interpret qualitative data through coding and analytical identification of themes or schemas.ResultsThere are different forms of content analysis, according to the aim of the study, (a) the conventional approach, (b) the direct approach, and (c) the summative approach. The depth of the analysis is defined by the degree to which the researcher reveals the covered meanings included in data. The range of the analysis is defined by the number of the identified themes and relevant categories of themes, and mainly of how abstract is the identified association among the different categories of themes. Balancing the strengths against the researcher-identified limitations and other weaknesses of the study, the researchers determine the value or trustworthiness of study findings, aiming to increase the transferability of the findings to other populations.ConclusionQualitative research is under-used as a research method in emergency and critical care despite the limitless variations of clinical research questions that can be investigated through this method of inquiry and relevant study designs, including content analysis.

Examination of the increasing number of articles employing quantitative content analysis in 1971–95 Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly showed primary focus on news/editorial content in U.S. media. Nearly half examined newspapers, and half were coauthored. Most used convenience or purposive samples. Few involved a second research method or extra-media data, explicit theoretical grounding, or research questions or hypotheses. Half reported intercoder reliability, and two-fifths used only descriptive statistics. Analysis of trends shows growth in coauthorship and reporting of reliability, and increasing emphasis on more sophisticated statistical analysis. No parallel trend exists, however, in use of explicit hypotheses/research questions or theoretical grounding.
