Infant feeding decisions depend on breastfeeding attitudes. This study examined the high school and the vocational school students’ attitudes toward breastfeeding. The descriptive cross-section survey was applied. A stratified random sample of 1,319 male and female students was carried out. The results revealed that female students were more positive than male students in breastfeeding attitudes. Of the female students, 34.7% (n = 458) reported that they will plan to breastfeed, and 29% (n = 382) male students indicated that they will encourage breastfeeding. Moreover, two-thirds (60.7%, n = 801) of the participants favored the inclusion of breastfeeding information in the school curriculum. Findings from this study suggest that breastfeeding information needs to be addressed earlier among adolescent students to increase positive breastfeeding attitudes.

Pesantren is an Islamic educational institution that aims to develop students into generations who have high knowledge and are able to carry out Islamic aqeedah and sharia, but in the environment of Islamic boarding schools are still often found negative behaviors such as aggressive behavior committed by teenage students. This is because teenagers are often less able to control emotions. One factor the cause of the emergence of aggressive behavior is the low level of emotional intelligence. Individuals who have low emotional intelligence tend to be aggressive. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Islamic boarding school students. The subjects in this study were eighth grade Muslim students of MTs who lived in the Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School dormitory in 2018/2019, totaling 60 students taken with total sampling techniques. The method of data collection in this study uses two psychological scales namely the aggressive behavior scale of 24 items (α = 0.881) and the emotional intelligence scale of 26 items (α = 0.933). Data that has been collected later analyzed using the product moment correlation analysis technique which is assisted with SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results showed rxy = -0,454 with p = 0,000 (p <0.01), this indicates that there is a significant and negative relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Al-Fatah Islamic boarding school students so that the hypothesis is accepted, the lower the emotional intelligence owned by students, students tend to have high aggressive behavior and vice versa with an effective contribution of 20.6% which is influenced by the independent variables in this study and 79.4% are influenced by variables outside the study.

The issues of the formation of civic qualities, active citizenship of modern students are of particular importance in relation to pupils studying in residential institutions. The specifics of this educational process are related to the characteristics of the pupils of boarding schools and the environment of the educational institution. The contradiction between the objective need of modern society for young people with a high level of patriotism, loyalty to the Motherland and at the same time a sense of belonging to the world community has led to the need to determine and justify the pedagogical conditions for the formation of civic qualities of boarding school students. At the present stage of the development of a democratic legal society, the formation of a responsible civil position among the young generation is of particular relevance. Based on the theoretical principles of civic education in the course of our research work, the features of the formation of a responsible civic position of schoolchildren are revealed. The main work will be related to adolescents and will consist in preparing a young person for life in a democratic society, recognizing and accepting the values that are decisive for society, realizing personal values, their own rights, freedoms and duties, and the ability to social interaction in accordance with the model of organizing Social and pedagogical support for children, which will be developed.

As a modern Islamic educational institution, Madrasa (Islamic boarding school) has shifted into a public school that has Islamic identity and the issue of restructuring its curriculum is assumed as a deteriorating factor in religious aspects for its graduates. Related to this, Madrasa have responded by carrying out a curriculum program development through the integration of Madrasa curriculum program and Ma’had education (Islamic dormitory). This article aims to describe the background of the integration of Madrasa curriculum program and the education in Ma’had as well as the activities and literacy that determine the success of the curriculum program integration. The data obtained from the observation, interview, and documentation were then analyzed through reduction, display, and verification phases. Afterward, the data triangulation was also conducted. It led to several findings. First, the integrated curriculum program was carried out based on the vision and mission of both Madrasa and Ma’had, and the advance of religious study and science. Second, taklim madrasy and taklim Ma’hady (learning activity conducted in Madrasa and Ma’had) have become the determining factors for the successful implementation of the integrated curriculum program. Moreover, all guests ranging from the officials of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, visitors from other cities and overseas, the Madrasa committee, and all tutors in the Madrasa have also affected the information literacy, digital, and collaboration levels. This sudy provides suggestions to conduct the integration of the school, Madrasa curriculum program and Ma’had program in one location to develop the students’ religious behavior, tolerance, empathy, spirituality knowledge, and literacy skill.
