The matrilocal system of residence of the Lacandons of Lacanjá Chansayab, Chiapas, has been described by several authors as a fundamental cultural element that is still conserved. This system is associated to the social reproduction of the ethnic group and the sustainability of the Lacandon jungle. This form of organization transcends the residence group and combines the domestic group and the family. Through ethnography, this research shows how this form of organization, called vejo’ovex, has changed towards ambilocality. The article aims to discuss the causes and implications of such change which is framed in the theory of cultural control, focused on the material elements associated with territory and home. Three triggers of change are identified, the sedentary and subsequent land titling in the 70s, the immigration of Lacandons from other areas, and the conformation of family businesses dedicated to ecotourism. Among the conclusions found, the elements: territory, vejo’ovex and work, transit between appropriated culture to alienated culture, linked with transformations in the concepts of inheritance, property, residence, and family.

The document develops an analysis of the family situation faced during the last decades in Mexico, particularly in the social transformation and their connection with the heterogeneity of the family groups, based on a series of analytical categories focused on family strategies that point out their daily life, taking up the proposal of Mallardi (2018) around: a) strategies aimed at obtaining subsistence resources, b) strategies linked to the specialized care, c) room strategies linked to the conditions life, d) strategies associated with health-disease processes and e) strategies for socialization, learning and use of free time. These strategies are approached as categories of analysis, for which their operationalization is carried out based on the review and reflection regarding some of the main changes observed during the last decades in Mexico; as well as the way in which these transformations are traversed by a series of social determinants, particularly those of gender and class, as well as their relationship with social policies directed at family groups. The analysis presented, without being exhaustive, shows the way in which the indicated elements and their linkage come to impact the daily life of families during the last decades. In this way, the daily life of family groups shows a series of tensions, ambivalences and contradictions derived to a large extent from the present relationship between the pressures exerted, on the one hand, from the social policy itself implemented and with it the demands and mandates generated from their socio-historical, economic and political context. On the other hand, the growing material and subjective needs of its members, which demand immediate responses that provide the minimum possibilities for the survival of the family group. El documento desarrolla un análisis de la situación familiar enfrentada durante las últimas décadas en México, en particular de las transformaciones sociales y su vínculo con la heterogeneidad de los grupos familiares, a partir de una serie de categorías analíticas centradas en las estrategias familiares que dan cuenta de la vida cotidiana, retomando para ello la propuesta de Mallardi (2018) en torno a: a) estrategias destinadas a la obtención de los recursos de subsistencia, b) estrategias vinculadas a la organización del cuidado, c) estrategias habitacionales vinculadas a las condiciones de vida, d) estrategias asociadas a los procesos de salud-enfermedad y e) estrategias de socialización, aprendizaje y uso del tiempo libre. Dichas estrategias son abordadas como categorías de análisis, por lo cual su operacionalización es realizada partiendo de la revisión y reflexión respecto a algunos de los principales cambios observados durante las últimas décadas en México; asimismo, se analiza la manera en que esas transformaciones se encuentran atravesadas por una serie de determinantes sociales, particularmente las de género y clase. Otro aspecto que se analiza es la relación de las transformaciones familiares observadas con las políticas sociales dirigidas a los grupos familiares. El análisis presentado, sin ser exhaustivo, muestra la manera en que los elementos señalados y su vinculación llegan a impactar la vida cotidiana de las familias durante las últimas décadas. De esa manera, la vida cotidiana de los grupos familiares muestra una serie de tensiones, ambivalencias y contradicciones derivadas en gran parte de la relación presente entre las presiones ejercidas, por un lado, desde la propia política social implementada y con ello las demandas y mandatos generados desde su contexto sociohistórico, económico y político. Así como, por otro lado, las crecientes necesidades materiales y subjetivas de sus miembros, las cuales exigen respuestas inmediatas que brinden las posibilidades mínimas para la sobrevivencia del grupo familiar.

This paper argues that gender-related inequalities in education (and other areas) are most crucially understood as embedded in ideology about the family, and that that ideology is at least partially reproduced through the education system itself. The prevalent ideology about the family corresponds to the nature of the political economy and works to maintain and reproduce the social and sexual division of labour both within the family and in the society at large. This study describes one period of educational reform, 1900–1929 in Western Australia, and examines the ideology about the family that was perpetuated by the state through the formal education system at this time. However, social reproduction is seen as a complex process and subject to human mediation Consequently resistance to the state ideology is described, as are contradictions within the ideology itself. It is hoped that, by looking not only at reproduction but also at resistance and contradiction, the entire process will be seen as a more dynamic one.

Los efectos del consumo excesivo de alcohol sobre el organismo, son ampliamente conocidos, y son, posiblemente, el motivo desencadenante de que las personas con un problema de adicción a este tóxico comiencen un tratamiento de desintoxicación y deshabituación, aunque el problema real de esta adicción, como en muchas otras, sea probablemente las consecuencias familiares, sociales y laborales, que en la mayor parte de las ocasiones resultan devastadoras En este sentido, la familia, como contexto socializador primario del individuo, es el elemento central, más importante tanto a nivel de intervención, como preventivo, en relación al consumo de drogas. Está comprobado que el sistema familia desempeña un papel importante en el desencadenamiento de conductas de consumo, de abuso, y de adicción, (Jacob,T. Johnson, S. 1999) De manera que dejando a un lado los factores genéticos, se puede afirmar que los procesos de socialización familiar destacan su importancia al ser la base de predisponentes tales como las actitudes, la personalidad, el autoconcepto, los valores, y en última instancia las habilidades de comunicación. La relación entre familia y consumo de alcohol no se limita a la causalidad ya establecida, hay otra vertiente no menos importante, que se refiere a la trascendencia de esta patología en las interacciones familiares, y a las dinámicas de relación disfuncionales que se crean debido a este problema. AbstractThe effects that the abusive consumption of alcohol cause within the human organism are well known and are probably good reasons to begin a detoxification treatment for people who suffer a serious addiction to this highly toxic drug, although the real problem about this sort of addiction, as in the case of many others, is probably the negative consequences that it may cause for the family, the social and work settings, which, in most cases, prove to be devastating. In this respect, the family, as the prime socializing element for the individual, is the most important influence at the levels of both intervention and prevention of drug abuse. It has been proven that the family’s attitude plays an important role in the promotion of drug consumption, abuse and addiction (Jacob,T. Johnson, S. 1999). Apart from the genetic factors, however, we can affirm that the family’s social processes highlight their importance because they are the base of the underlying factors in this problem, such as their attitudes, their personalities, their self-esteem, their personal values and finally, their communication skills. The relationship between the family and alcohol consumption is not limited to the already established elements. There is another important angle to the problem. It is the far-reaching effects of this pathologic condition on the way the family interacts and on the dynamics of the malfunctioning relationships that this problem causes.

Violence against women (VAW) continues to exist as a pervasive, structural,systematic, and institutionalized violation of women’s basic human rights (UNDivision of Advancement for Women, 2006). It cuts across the boundaries of age, race, class, education, and religion which affect women of all ages and all backgrounds in every corner of the world. Such violence is used to control and subjugate women by instilling a sense of insecurity that keeps them “bound to the home, economically exploited and socially suppressed” (Mathu, 2008, p. 65). It is estimated that one out of every five women worldwide will be abused during her lifetime with rates reaching up to 70 percent in some countries (WHO, 2005). Whether this abuse is perpetrated by the state and its agents, by family members, or even by strangers, VAW is closely related to the regulation of sexuality in a gender specific (patriarchal) manner. This regulation is, on the one hand, maintained through the implementation of strict cultural, communal, and religious norms, and on the other hand, through particular legal measures that sustain these norms. Therefore, religious institutions, the media, the family/tribe, cultural networks, and the legal system continually disciplinewomen’s sexuality and punish those women (and in some instances men) who have transgressed or allegedly contravened the social boundaries of ‘appropriateness’ as delineated by each society. Such women/men may include lesbians/gays, women who appear ‘too masculine’ or men who appear ‘too feminine,’ women who try to exercise their rights freely or men who do not assert their rights as ‘real men’ should, women/men who have been sexually assaulted or raped, and women/men who challenge male/older male authority.

Abstract. Educational environment is needed in the education process, because the educational environment serves to support the process of teaching and learning, a comfortable environment and support for the implementation of an education is needed. The environment is distinguished into the biological environment, the non-living natural environment, the artificial environment and the social environment. Education is one of the first obligations for parents. In Islam, the person most responsible for the education of the child is the parent. The family is the "smallest people" who have leaders and members, has a division of work and work, and the rights and obligations of each member. The best exemplary education for children is if both parents are able to connect their child with the example of Rasûlullâh SAW, as uswah of all mankind. A positive school environment is a school environment that provides facilities and motivation for religious education. Keywords. Environment, Education   Abstrak. Lingkungan pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan dalam proses pendidikan, sebab lingkungan pendidikan berfungsi menunjang terjadinya proses belajar mengajar, lingkungan yang nyaman dan mendukung bagi terselenggaranya suatu pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan. Lingkungan dibedakan menjadi lingkungan alam hayati, lingkungan alam non-hayati, lingkungan buatan dan lingkungan sosial. Pendidikan merupakan salah satu kewajiban pertama bagi orang tua. Dalam Islam, orang yang paling bertanggung jawab dalam pendidikan anak adalah orang tua. This work is the result of the doctoral thesis entitled Pilgrimage of Bom Jesus da Lapa: Social Reproduction of the Family and Female Gender Identity, specifically the second chapter that talks about women in the Pilgrimage of Bom Jesus da Lapa, emphasizing gender relations, analyzing the location of the pilgrimage as a social reproduction of the patriarchal family and female gender identity. The research scenario is the Bom Jesus da Lapa Pilgrimage, which has been held for 329 years, in that city, located in the West part of Bahia. The research participants are pilgrim women who are in the age group between 50 and 70 years old and have participated, for more than five consecutive years in the Bom Jesus da Lapa Pilgrimage, belonging to five Brazilian states (Bahia, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Espírito Santo and Goiás) that register a higher frequency of attendance at this religious event. We used bibliographic, qualitative, field and documentary research and data collection as our methodology; we applied participant observation and semi-structured interviews as a technique. We concluded that the Bom Jesus da Lapa Pilgrimage is a location for family social reproduction and the female gender identity, observing a contrast in the resignification of the role and in the profile of the pilgrim women from Bom Jesus da Lapa, alternating between permanence and the transformation of gender identity coming from patriarchy.

The article discusses the inscriptions on funerary monuments from the Croatian villages of Cunovo and Jarovce, located in the South of Slovakia, near Bratislava. These inscriptions reflect the complicated sociocultural situation in the region, which is particularly specific due to the fact that this territory was included to Slovakia’s territory only after 1946, while earlier the village was part of Hungary. In addition, the local Croatian ethnic group was actively in close contact with the German and Hungarian communities. At the same time, the orthographic norms of the literary Croatian, German, Hungarian, and Slovak languages, which could potentially be owned by the authors of the inscriptions, differ in many ways, despite the Latin alphabet used on all the gravestones. All this is reflected in the tombstones, representing a high degree of mixing codes. The article identifies the main types of fusion on the monuments: separate orthograms, writing the maiden name of the deceased in the spelling of her native language, the traditional spelling of the family name. In addition, the mixing of codes can be associated with writing feminitives, also order of name and surname within the anthroponym. Moreover, the settlements themselves represent different ethnic groups coexistence within the village. Gravestones from the respective cemeteries also differ from each other in the nature of the prevailing trend of the mixing codes. In Jarovce, where the ethnic groups live compactly, fusion is often presented as a separate foreign language orthograms. In Cunovo, where the ethnic groups constitute a global conglomerate, more traditional presents for a specific family spelling of the names on the monument.

Analogously to the works in the field of new social studies of childhood, this contribution deals with the concept of childhood as a social construction, in which children are considered as social actors in their own living environment, engaged in interpretive reproduction of the social. In this perspective the concept of agency is strongly stressed, and the vulnerability of children is not sufficiently taken into account. But in combining vulnerability and agency lies the possibility to consider the perspective of the subjects in the context of their social, political and cultural embeddedness. In this paper we show that what children say, what is important to them in general and for their well-being, is shaped by the care experiences within the family and by their social contexts. The argumentation for the intertwining of vulnerability and agency is exemplified by the expressions of an interviewed girl about her birth and by reference to philosophical concepts about birth and natality.

Children, brought up in foster families, experience various problems (diffi culties in interpersonal relationships with parents, diffi culties in communicating with peers, emotional instability), which lead to confl icts, quarrels, running away from home, destructive phenomena, etc. One of the eff ective forms of working with children brought up in foster families is individual counselling. Individual counselling is used by various specialists (psychologists, educators, psychotherapists), where a special place is taken by a social educator. His or her activity involves the implementation of social-protective, preventive, educational, informational, advisory functions. In the process of organizing individual counseling, the social educator takes into account the social situation of the family and the child, personal characteristics, social conditions, social and cultural characteristics and the nature of the relationship with the social environment. To organize individual counseling, a social educator needs to master various and eff ective techniques, and take into account a number of recommendations. An analysis of the literature and practical socio-pedagogical experience led to an understanding of the insuffi cient degree of elaboration of this issue. The purpose of this article was the solution to this problem.
