This research is motivated by the still low number of students who continue their studies to higher education in Tulungagung, Indonesia. This can be seen in the attitude of students who do not show interest in the compilation of high school choices presented by the teachers. The purpose of this article is threefold. First, this article aims to elucidate how the level of household economics is related to the decision to enroll in higher education. The second research objective is to find whether the parental level of education has an impact on the decision to continue in higher education. Third, this study aims to understand whether the combined influence of household economic level and parental level of education influences the decision of studying higher education. This paper relies on questionnaires conducted in the class X SMK SIANG Tulungagung during the academic year 2019/20 as a method of data collection. The data analysis techniques include validity, reliability, classic assumption tests, multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing. The results of the data analysis show that: (1) the value of t arithmetic in the variable (X1) ‘analysis of the household economic’ of 2.148 <t table are 2.004. Thus, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in how the household economic level influences the decision to go to college. (2) The value of t arithmetic on the variable (X2) ‘level of parental education’ of 2,200> t table is 2,006. College. (3) The test results obtained through calculating the F value of 4.970> from F table are 3.16. College.

This paper examines the main issues regarding higher education in Korea—where college education experienced minimal interruptions—during the COVID-19 pandemic through a big data analysis of news articles. By analyzing policy responses from the government and colleges and examining prominent discourses on higher education, it provides a context for discussing the implications of COVID-19 on education policy and what the post-pandemic era would bring. To this end, we utilized BIgKinds, a big data research solution for news articles offered by the Korea Press Foundation, to select a total of 2636 media reports and conducted Topic Modelling based on LDA algorithms using NetMiner. The analyses are split into three distinct periods of COVID-19 spread in the country. Some notable topics from the first phase are remote class, tuition refund, returning Chinese international students, and normalization of college education. Preparations for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), contact and contactless classes, preparations for early admissions, and supporting job market candidates are extracted for the second phase. For the third phase, the extracted topics include CSAT and college-specific exams, quarantine on campus, social relations on campus, and support for job market candidates. The results confirmed widespread public attention to the relevant issues but also showed empirically that the measures taken by the government and college administrations to combat COVID-19 had limited visibility among media reports. It is important to note that timely and appropriate responses from the government and colleges have enabled continuation of higher education in some capacity during the pandemic. In addition to the media’s role in reporting issues of public interest, there is also a need for continued research and discussion on higher education amid COVID-19 to help effect actual results from various policy efforts.

"Are middle school students different in their choice of subject, such as readiness, gender, grade level, parental level of education, family economic level, book page reading per month?" And "What are the opinions of the middle school students in the subjects of the prepared talk?" the answer was searched. A complementary hybrid design was used in the study. The first group of the study consisted of 24 selected students. Data; The semi-structured interview form for the first sub-problem and the second semi-structured interview form for the second sub-problem were analyzed by frequency and percentage calculation. It has been examined whether subject selection tendencies differ according to variables such as gender, class level, parental education level, family economic level, number of book pages read in one month. In the second part of the research, thematic coding was done.

5th and 6th grades, animal and nature in topic selection, environment in 7th grade, 8th class sports branches are extraordinary. Subject selection; The gender of the students, the level of education of the father, the educational status of the mother, the profession of the father, the occupation of the mother, the monthly income of the family and the number of books read in a month. When the general opinions of the middle school students are evaluated regarding the prepared speech, the negative aspects such as excitement, interruption and not being able to express themselves can not be prevented with prepared speeches. Students can communicate their thoughts effectively.

Abstract The following paper focuses on the attitudes of the in-group (referred to as bilingual Veneto-Spanish speakers) and out-group (monolingual Spanish speakers) in the bilingual community of Chipilo, Mexico. This paper has two main goals: first, to analyse the attitudes of the out-group towards the in-group; and second, to analyse the perceived attitudes of the latter group, who become the primary ‘determinants’ in minority language maintenance. Through 108 sociolinguistic questionnaires and 15 interviews, the following social factors were examined: ethnicity, gender, level of education, and age of the speakers. The results showed negative attitudes perceived by the in-group, especially younger males of higher education levels, as well as possible tensions between the two groups.
