The aim of the research. To conduct a cluster analysis of the assessment profile of students who participated in work of medical organisations providing care to COVID-19 patients to develop recommendations for its correction. Material and methods. The study was carried out at the premises of Prof. V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky Krasnoyarsk State Medical University (KrasSMU). The study group was constituted by 66 students in 3-6 years of study of the Medical and the Paediatric faculties of the University who took part in activities of medical organisations providing healthcare to patients with COVID-19. The items were presented in the form of binary questions and ranking scales. The analysis of qualitative attributes was carried out in the form of relative values with calculation of the standard error of the proportion. For ranking and nonparametric quantitative characteristics, the mode, median, centiles (Me [P25; P75]) and other nonparametric criteria for comparative statistics and communication statistics were used. For segmentation of respondents according to some criteria, depending on the answers, the method “two-step cluster analysis” and the method of “decision tree” were used. Results. The results of the study indicate a high motivational component related to practical medical activity of medical students during the difficult epidemiological situation since 94.1% of the respondents declared the readiness to support practical healthcare. Almost half of the surveyed 47.0% of students included in cluster 2, in contrast to students of clusters 1 and 3, are characterised by a high opinion on the degree of their contribution to the struggle against the COVID-19 epidemic and a high level of knowledge and skills, rating themselves at about 9.0 points out of 10 possible. In addition, the results of the study indicate an association between the level of students’ self-esteem in regard to their contribution to the fight against COVID-19 with the level of the students’ self-esteem of knowledge and skills and the duration of work in a medical organisation. Conclusion. The analysis performed has made it possible to formulate guidelines for support of medical students’ professional attitudes within the framework of practice-oriented education, including distance learning.

A new reality in the southern areas of Tel-Aviv was created by negative social mobility. As a result, the variance in pupils' qualifications within each class, at high schools, was enlarged. One implication was that teachers' ability to advance pupils, who were able to reach a high level of knowledge, was weakened. The project for fostering the more gifted among socially disadvantaged adolescents has four main components: (1) Mastery of Mathematics and English at the basic level required by the university; (2) developing excellence in selected areas, as a means to enhance self-esteem and become acquainted with advanced subject matters; (3) peer group, to support social matriculation; and (4) developing capacity for critical thinking. Identification of the gifted is made by La. test, teacher's evaluations and reported self motivation. The main goal of the project is to encourage pupils' willingness and capacity to continue in academically oriented high schools and universities. Aside from dilemmas about creating and maintaining such project, preliminary results of evaluation research are reported.

Early and proper diagnosis of arrhythmias is important. However, there is a limited knowledge and skills in identifying and caring for patients with life-threatening arrhythmias among medical students. The aim of this study was to compare 6th year MD program students' pre-post-training knowledge and the ability to detect life-threatening arrhythmias. 140 6th year MD program students took part in this study. Evaluations were performed before and after training in cardiac arrhythmias. Results: The majority of the participants received a high level of knowledge in identifying life-threatening arrhythmias on the ECG strip. Modern teaching methods improve the learning achievements among students.

Abstract Background Immunisation programs are still facing substantial challenges in achieving target coverage rates. This has been attributed to the growing negative individual vaccination attitudes and behaviours. Most of the current studies assessing vaccination knowledge, attitude and beliefs targets adults. However, young people represent future parents and health care professionals. The objective of this study was to investigate vaccination knowledge attitudes and behaviours among university medical and non-medical students in Europe. Methods We performed a cross-sectional online survey between April and July 2018. The study participants were students attending different faculties at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and the University of Pisa, Italy. We described sample characteristics. The effect of risk factors was tested with univariate and multivariate logistic regressions. Results A total of 2079 participants completed the survey including 873 medical students and 1206 from other faculties. The average of vaccination knowledge, attitudes, and confidence was respectively 5.51 (SD: 1.41), 4.66 (SD: 0.14) and 5.28 (SD: 0.57) on the 6-points scale. Our respondents demonstrated a high level of awareness with respect to their vaccination history. In total, 67.7% (n = 1407) reported to have received at least one vaccine in the previous five years; only 6.0% (n = 35) did not receive any vaccine in the previous 10 years. According to logistic regression analysis Italian students had significantly higher knowledge, attitude and confidence scores than Belgium respondents. Students of medicine scored significantly higher compared to non-medical students. Conclusions In order to reduce the gaps in vaccinations knowledge between non-medical and medical students we should plan educational interventions. In this way the number of future sceptical parents could be decreased. Further studies are required to explain the differences between countries. Key messages Young adults are the parents and the health care professionals of the future, for this reason their vaccination knowledge attitudes and behaviours should be carefully monitored. European non-medical students have lower vaccinations knowledge, attitudes and confidence compared with medical student. In order to fill these gaps, we should plan educational interventions.

The formation of a powerful, active, and dynamic axiological foundation of personality is one of the essential tasks of the competency approach because even a high level of knowledge and skills acquired in the process of learning and education cannot ensure the integrity and progressively oriented unity of personal and professional competencies for future successful life, socio-cultural and professional self-realization. Given this, within the competence paradigm of education, qualitatively new content is the unity of learning and education. If before a significant amount of theoretical knowledge, detached from real life, had a shallow educational potential, now any pedagogical action, even focused on the cognitive assimilation of basic scientific knowledge, will have a worldview. An essential characteristic of the competency approach in education is that it can ensure each student’s unique structure the unity of knowledge, competencies, and values.

Background: Smoking is a common habit among the population in Kosovo. In the country, smoking occurs in public places, health and educational institutions despite being prohibited by law. Our objective was to describe smoking habits, knowledge and attitudes among medical students from all departments in the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Medicine. Methods: The present study followed the Global Health Professions Student Survey (GHPSS) standardized methodology including data processing procedures. A self-administered questionnaire used was derived from the GHPSS. A total of 600 students were invited in the study while 470 returned questionnaires and participated in the study. Descriptive statistics were used to present the data. The Fisher’s exact test was used to test the significance and a p-value<0.05 was considered significant. Results: The prevalence rate of smoking among students was 16.9% (95% CI 13.2-20). Current smokers were 79 students, 28.2 % males, and 7.7 % females. The study showed that 55.5% of students smoke less than a pack of cigarettes per day. Almost half of them (47.6%) who smoke reported to have a smoker inside the family.  This study also revealed that 74.7% of respondents smoke in the presence of non-smokers on daily bases. Conclusion: Despite threating their own health, smokers also cause noxiousness to the society and medical students should be role models for the others by not smoking. Even though the percentage doesn’t show a high rate of smokers in Medical University of Prishtina, still we need to pay attention to bad smoking habits and try to lower even more the percentage of smokers.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic has become a foremost health concern, many countries have ordered lockdown to stop the spread of COVID-19 due to which many Universities are closed and students are taking lectures online, Pakistan is also one of the countries in which lockdown was imposed, the aim of this study is to examine the level of physical activity and lifestyle of medical students from University of Lahore (UoL) during COVID-19. Aim: To determine the effect of COVID-19 lockdown on the physical activity and lifestyle of medical students of University of Lahore. Materials: Sample size included 151 medical students from the University of Lahore, study was pure cross-sectional and convenient sampling technique was used, data was collected through online questionnaire which contained question from IPAQ-SF to estimate the physical activity and lifestyle of observed University students. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 25. Results: The results showed that from the population of 151 medical students of University of Lahore 75 students (49.7%) reported Low level of physical activity, while 44 students (29.1%) students reported Moderate level of physical activity, and 32 students (21.2%) reported high level of physical activity. Conclusion: Majority of the medical students showed Low level of physical activity, 49.7% in the last 7 days during COVID-19 pandemic. Medical students of University of Lahore showed a decrease in their overall physical activity level. Keywords: COVID-19, lockdown, Medical students, Physical activity

The article highlights the main events in the life of the famous scientist, lists the main achievements and scientific achievements. The life and scientific activities of Anatoly Andreevich are inextricably linked with the Crimean Medical Institute (University), within the walls of which the future professor first received a higher medical education, and then, after years of successful scientific activity, headed the university as a rector for many years. Thanks to the talented leadership, the Crimean Medical University has reached a high level of scientific and technological develop- ment and international recognition. For long productive work and scientific achievements, Professor A.A. Babanin awarded numerous government and international awards and titles, and currently continues active work for the benefit of higher medical education in Crimea.

Raising public awareness and active participation in local self-government is a key component of governance instruments, public organizations and social initiatives in Armenia aimed at achieving “good governance” and strengthening democracy. However, there is no interest in the local self-government system in the Armenian society. This study analyzes the degree of public awareness of LSG and its participation in it in a comparative perspective for 2015 and 2019. In particular, the article is aimed at identifying the structure of the Armenian society using two main dimensions: public awareness of LSG and participation in LSG. For the existing variables, public participation in LSG was impossible to measure, while the result of measuring public awareness of LSG was sufficient. One separate variable was chosen as an indicator of participation in LSG. An index of public awareness about LSG was created. The cluster analysis revealed three clusters that make up society in 2015 and four clusters for 2019. The analysis showed that the overwhelming majority of the population has a low level of knowledge about LSG and public participation both in 2015 and 2019. In 2015, only 2.4% of the population had a high level of participation and awareness of LSG, which dropped to 1.8% in 2019.

Introduction. In recent years osteopathy has been rapidly developing as an individual medical specialty in the Russian Federation. A growing number of specialists are studying this specialty and represent it in Russia and abroad. A large number of studies clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment are being conducted. In addition, the Russian Federation has a regulatory framework according to which osteopathy is regulated by the government. However, many medical doctors, lecturers and students of medical universities do not have a clear understanding of osteopathy and put in question the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment. The goal of research — to study student′s knowledge about the principles, methods and scope of osteopathic treatment in order to develop a program for disseminating relevant information about osteopathy with regard to individual social characteristics.Materials and methods. We conducted an anonymous survey among students of Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University using special forms. We also used the online tool Google Forms in the social network Vkontakte. 73 respondents took part in the survey. 8 communities from the social network Vkontakte, with the target audience being students of medical Universities, were reviewed. The search for references to osteopathy was made by the keyword «osteopath». A special questionnaire with 22 questions was developed in order to collect the necessary information. The first part of the questionnaire contains 16 questions about the specialty «osteopathy»; the second part (6 questions) allows to study the respondent′s personal characteristics: age, gender, year of studies, presence of medical doctors among family members, participation in the student′s scientific society (SSS). 14 questions from the fi rst part of the questionnaire were dichotomous and 2 questions had 3 or more answer options. 12 questions from the first part were aimed at studying students′ ideas about osteopathy. The correct answer was rated 1 point, the wrong answer — 0. The points obtained during the survey were summed up. In the subsequent processing of the results, the indicators of the respondent′s opinions, evaluated on a 12-point scale, were ranked into 3 groups: from 1 to 4 points — a low level of knowledge, from 5 to 8 points — an average level, from 9 to 12 — a high level.Results. It was found that 66 % of respondents have a low level of knowledge about the specialty «osteopathy», 30 % have an average level of knowledge, only 4 % of respondents have a high level of knowledge. The results indicate insufficient and extremely low level of awareness about the specialty «osteopathy» among students. Due to the lack of reliable sources of information within the system of education in higher medical educational institutions there is a spread of misconceptions about this specialty. It was established that students involved in SSS had a significantly higher level of knowledge about osteopathy than students who were not involved in SSS, and that students who had medical doctors in their families had a significantly lower level of knowledge about osteopathy than students who did not have medical doctors in their families.Conclusion. It is necessary to use different ways of informing students about the new medical specialty taking into account their individual characteristics, as well as to introduce awareness-raising about osteopathy (lectures, practical sessions) into the training system within the framework of an optional and/or elective courses, to improve the work of the student scientific society.

This study explored relationships among children’s age, individual differences, and sources of physical competence information. Children (N = 183) completed measures of competitive trait anxiety (CTA), perceived physical competence (PC), general self-esteem (SE), and sources of competence information in the sport domain. A cluster analysis revealed four distinct profiles of children. In Cluster 1, children were younger, scored relatively higher in CTA and lower in PC, and indicated strongest preference for pregame anxiety as a source of information. Cluster 2 was characterized by children with lower PC and SE scores who placed lower importance on parental evaluation and pre­ game anxiety sources. In Cluster 3, children scored higher on PC and SE, moderately lower on CTA, and preferred self-referenced and parental evaluation criteria. In Cluster 4, children were older, higher in CTA, lower in PC and SE, and indicated strongest preference for social comparison/evaluation criteria. The criteria children use to evaluate their physical competence are strongly associated with age and psychological characteristics.
