Based on the analysis of the prose of the Russian-speaking Nenets writer Anna Nerkaga, the article implements a methodological approach that involves identifying specific tools of modeling national identity. In the analyzed story “Aniko of the Nogo family”, the semantics of space is defined by isolation (tundra, mountains, camp, plague, sacred place, cemetery) and clear separation from the rest of the world, and time is measured in “moon”. Heroes live inside this world, mythologize it, endow animals with anthropomorphic properties. Self-identification of the characters is due to the dichotomy of “own” and “alien” (without hostility to the “other”): “own” in the text — “tundra, camp people”, “aliens” — strangers, who violate the eternal order of life. The text captures typical feature of the ontological perception of the world by the Nenets: for the heroes of the story, the border between the living and the dead is conditional, the same is the transition from one space (the camp of people) to another (the camp of ancestors). The identity of the character of the story, Aniko, is associated with the development of the national space and patriarchal ancestral traditions (belonging to the genus Nogo, fixed in the title of the work), which are revealed in the text in the system of cultural codes: funeral rites, pagan beliefs in Idols, customs, manners, plague, national food, clothes (malitsa, kisy, yagushka), everyday realities. Bilingualism becomes a specific tool of modeling national identity in the work of a Russian-speaking author, marking the style of the story (interspersed in the Russian-language text of foreign lexicon — names of clothing, food, household items; anthroponyms, zoonyms, toponyms, etc.) and providing aesthetic unity.

The article is devoted to the modern literary process in Kazakhstan, specially its Russian and Russian-speaking segment against the background of integration movements in the world and specific cultural processes in the post-Soviet space. It reveals how much the situation and part of literature created in Russian language in the region over the past decades has changed, how a different identity, the mentality of a different culture is expressed and how in turn this culture affects Russian-language texts. An attempt is made to trace the main trends in the development of modern Kazakhstani literature in Russian, in connection with which the works of I. Odegov, G. Doronin, H. Adibaev, D. Nakipov, A. Zhaksylykov and others are analyzed. It is concluded that the Russian language, even after losing its former status, remains in demand in the literature not only by ethnic Russians, but also by Kazakh bilinguals who are successfully experimenting with Turkisms. At the same time, Russian authors are concerned about the preservation of national identity, which motivates the appeal to classics and national folklore, while Kazakhs are more focused on the space of world literature.

In modern linguistics, a branch of linguistics - translation studies - was formed, which aims at comprehensive study of the processes of translation from one language to other languages from different aspects. Based on the material of the Russian Finno-Ugric languages, this branch of science takes its first steps. The purpose of this paper is to consider lexical and semantic language errors in the text of the translation of P.A. Sorokin's autobiography into the Komi language, identified by systematic comparisons of text fragments in English, Russian and Komi. The material of the study was the texts of P. A. Sorokin's autobiography published in separate books in different years of publication. The language errors found in the text of the translation of the autobiography of the world-famous sociologist, a native of the Komi region, Pitirim A. Sorokin into the Komi language, published as a separate book in Syktyvkar in 2013, are considered for the first time. The errors considered are analyzed on the basis of subsequent comparisons with the English-language original and the translation of the same book into Russian, published in Syktyvkar in 1991. Analysis of the Komi language of the book (the first 40 pages of his autobiography) allowed to conclude that the translation into the Komi language was made not from the language of the original, as recorded in the bibliographic description, but from the Russian translation of the autobiography, as most translation errors from the Russian-language text moved to the Komi-language one.

The article is devoted to the study of the impact of the plot and ideas of Lermontov's poem "Demon" on the poets of Iran, understanding the reasons of the unrelenting interest of Iranian authors in the different embodiment of demonism by a representative of a different mentality, a different aesthetic and cultural experience. "Demon" was repeatedly translated into Persian, but the most credited is the translation made by T. Tash, which influenced such modern Persian poets as Nima Yushij and Mohammad Hossein Shahriyar. The extent of the influence of Lermontov's poem on their work is not limited to motivational and figurative roll-calls. In the lexical and syntax structure, in the description of nature, in the nature of the narrative and the romantic style of Iranian poems Lermontov’ influence is distinctly traceable. Alongside with this, the article touches on the problem of two-vector intertextual connections: the question of the origins of the ancient Iranian dualism in “Demon” and the Caucasian folklore borrowings, in particular, the transformation in Lermontov’s plot of the Ossetian Stories about the spirit of Gud-gori; this article, in parallel with this issue, reveals the significance of Iblis's symbolism in Iran's mystical literature. A comparative method was used as a method of work, which allowed to prove the similarity and unity of the human spirit and worldview. Comparative analysis of the work of the Iranian poets also provides an opportunity to show the peculiarities of interaction of national cultural codes. The choice between good and evil on the level of the demonism archetype, between resisting temptation and a departure from spiritual and moral standards of behavior clarifies the accents of artists in depicting the disharmony of the world as the consequence of the blind and destructive passions, in depicting the flaws and weaknesses of human nature, the tragedy of being estranged and outcast. The results of the study contribute to the development of comparative literary studies. The article proves that the world nature of literature, allowing the thoughts of one poet to penetrate into the soul and mind of a poet of another nationality, creates a single semantic field. The materials and conclusions of the article are of practical value in studying Iran's literary ties with other nations, and can be used in teaching comparative studies at The Russian Language Departments in Iranian universities.

Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the development of books of poems as a major genre form in modern Russian-language poetry of Mordovia and fits into the complex of Russian literary studies concerning the peculiarities of the development of the Finno-Ugric literary process. In the course of the research, the typological features of a thematic and «final» book of poems are revealed; the poetological features of this genre in the works of the poets of Mordovia belonging to the «traditional» and «avant-garde» paradigm are analyzed. Objective: to analyze the main trends of the development of a book of poems in the literary process of Mordovia. Research materials: the poetry books by A. M. Sharonov «The Monologues» and S. Yu. Senichev «Grapes in Chocolate, or Compounding». Results and novelty of the research: the analysis of the modern Russian-language poetry of Mordovia has shown that today there are two ideological and artistic paradigms: «traditional» paradigm based on the experience of classical Russian poetry and «avant-garde» paradigm developing with the support of postmodern experiments. The diversity of poetic practices makes it possible to determine the ways of development of a book of poems in the poetic process of the republic. In the creative works of the poets of Mordovia two genre-specific forms, such as thematic and «final», are developing. Moreover, the traditional poets most often comprehend the problems concerning the preservation of the national identity of the Mordovian people. They poetically sum up the plots and images of national mythology and folklore. The genre form of a «final» book of poems allows the most representative to convey the scale of significant historical and sociocultural events of the era, as well as to present the author’s biography against the background of these events. The avant-garde poets, on the contrary, move away from national attributes. The associative and metaphorical principle of constructing a book of poems becomes more important for them, where along with the lyrical understanding of the world there is a philological game, intertextuality, and allusiveness. Through the techniques of literary play authors often express nostalgia for lost values. The analysis of the poetic of the books of poems by A. M. Sharonov and S. Yu. Senichev will allow not only to determine the features of their creative manner, but also to trace the ways and character of the development of modern Russianlanguage poetry in Mordovia as a whole.

Ancestor veneration remains a major obstacle to conversion among the Chinese the world over. While the issue often comes to a head over funeral rites, ancestor veneration cannot be understood in isolation. Rather one must look at the broader issues of the cult of the family, a tenet propagated by Confucius, putting loyalty to the family above every other claim including that of the gods or the state. There was also the influence of Taoism which sees the universe as a living organism co-existing in interdependence. The family then is not just a sociological unit, but also a metaphysical unit with ancestral spirits helping to keep the fragile balance which their descendants have with the rest of the universe and with other spirits. Finally, we must not forget that death is a psychological trauma and that living relatives often need a rite of passage to remember and to grieve for the dead. Ancestor veneration then is not a simple act that can be abolished by deciding which rituals in a funeral are biblical and which are not. Rather it is part of a complex web that needs to be understood in its totality. This paper, written by a Chinese and first-generation Christian, attempts to do that.
