Moreover, it has been shown overtime that human’s behavioural qualities may have a possible effect on interaction with people. All of these concerns necessitate this study. Purpose: The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between affectivity, social adjustment and Nigerian librarians’ user relation. Method: The authors adopt correlational research design and web-based questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. Purposive sampling technique was adopted for the study. The total response rate was 178. Findings: It was found in the study that negative affectivity such as threat and hostility have poor effect on user relation. Contrastingly, it was revealed that positive affectivity such as subjective well-being and happiness ensure optimal library user relation. It was revealed that Nigerian librarians see opportunities in user relation, which can be used to improve the library image and effective service inside. Conclusion: It was established that affectivity has statistically significant relationship with user relation. Also, it was shown that social adjustment has statistical significant relationship with user relation.

Background: Human resources, especially nurses, have a significant role in health care services due to the nature of their service and their direct relationships with patients. In this regard, nurses are encountered with higher stressful factors resulting from their responsibilities in providing ease and comfort for patients. Resiliency is one of the main purposes of health promotion and is considered to be a protective agent. Moreover, psychological well-being refers to striving for perfection in order to realize the potential and real individual talents and abilities. This study aims to determine the relationship between resiliency and psychological well-being of nurses in ICU & NICU of Shiraz in 2017. Methods: This is a descriptive-correlational research. The statistical society consists of 150 nurses working in ICU & NICU of university hospitals in Shiraz. The tools of data collection were psychological well-being and resiliency questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed via SPSS software and descriptive-inferential statistics. Results: According to the Table, 86% of the subjects are females, and 14% are males; 53.4% of them are single, and 44.6% of them are married; 84% of them have bachelor degree, and 16% of them have master degree. Average age and work experience of the subjects are 31.38 and 4.79 years, respectively. Average resiliency and psychological well-being scores of the nurses are estimated to be 66.03 ± 16.72 and 119.55 ± 24.35, respectively. Their significant relationship was approved by Pearson test P = 0.002). Conclusions: The results indicated that resiliency and psychological well-being of the nurses have significant relationship; with an increase in resiliency, their psychological and mental health increases. Therefore, some programs and interventions are recommended for nurses in order to improve their resiliency, and consequently, promote their psychological well-being.

AbstractCuriosity is a personality trait that is inversely related to depression and positively related to subjective wellbeing. However, the relationship between curiosity and these two outcomes is still unclear which hampers our general understanding of well-being. Based on research within positive psychology that showed character strengths such as curiosity can indirectly decrease depression, we hypothesized that the inverse relationship between curiosity and depression would be mediated by subjective well-being. Two hundred and fifty seven participants, between 18 and 64 years old (M = 24.50, SD = 8.33) completed a web-based survey comprising: The Curiosity and Exploration Inventory - II, Center for Epidemiological Studies - Depression and the Steen Happiness Index. We found that well-being mediated the relationship between curiosity and depression. The results indicate that curious individuals tend to report higher levels of subjective well-being which, in turn, is associated with lower levels of depression. Our findings contribute to the understanding of positive results obtained from clinical samples that underwent positive psychotherapy of depression.

This research is motivated by the importance of physical components to the results of the speed of the smash on table tennis including reaction time and arm power. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reaction time and arm power with the speed of a smash ball in a table tennis game. This study uses a correlational research method. The sample in this study were active members of the Jabung Garut club. A total of 20 samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study are the ruler drop test to measure the speed of reaction time and the softball throw test to measure arm power. Data analysis used Statistical Product for Social Science (SPSS) version 22. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between reaction time and the smash ball speed, which was p = 0.000 <0.05 with a value of r = -0.719, while the relationship between arm power and ball speed smash results p = 0.001 <0.05 which means there is a significant relationship, and the relationship between reaction time and arm power together with the ball speed smash results produce a significant relationship with the significance of 0.001 <0.05 and r = 0.547. From these results it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between reaction time and arm power with the speed of the ball smash in table tennis. The present study examined the relationship between expressing emotions, psychological resilience and subjective well-being. The study was carried out with a total of 217 university students, of whom 94 were males and 123 were females, aged between 19 and 25 years. The data of the study were collected using the Emotional Expression Questionnaire, the Psychological Resilience Scale and the Subjective Well-Being Scale, respectively. The relationship between the variables of the study was analyzed via the methods of Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Structural Equation Modeling, and the mediating role of psychological resilience between emotional expression and subjective well-being was tested. The goodness-of-fit indices obtained from the structural equation modeling indicated that the model generated a good fit. According to the results, there was a significant relationship between “expressing emotions” and “psychological resilience” and between “psychological resilience” and “subjective well-being”. It was found that there was no significant relationship between expressing emotions and subjective well-being and that the variable of expressing emotions affected that of subjective well-being by means of the psychological resilience (tool) variable and the model tested was significant.

This research aims to determine the relationship between self efficacy and subjective well-being in ethnic Ikmasti students in Salatiga, this study uses a sampling technique saturated with participants involved 60 people taken from Ikmasti students. Data collection was carried out for 1 week. The self efficacy variable was composed by Albert Bandura (1997) consisting of 40 items and subjective well-being Diener (1984) and Watson & Telegen (1988) consisting of 40 items. The method used in this study for data collection uses a scale method, namely the scale of self efficacy and subjective well-being scale. Data analysis using product moment correlation analysis techniques and the results obtained by correlation coefficient 0.525 with sig. = 0,000 (p ˂ 0,001). The results showed a positive relationship between self-efficacy and subjective well-being in ethnic Ikmasti students in Salatiga.
