The poultry production in our country has made a significant progress over the years due to research and development thrust of the government and organized private sector. Poultry farming is considered as an important tool for self-employment as it offers vast scope for generating income in socially and economically backward areas. No other livestock production programme in our country has made as much progress in a short period as the poultry sector has made. The revolutionary changes made in poultry industry in the last four decades is a matter of great pride. The poultry sector provides livelihood to nearly one lakh farmers and contributes to a great extent to the national income. In Rajasthan, poultry industry is a live segment and source of revenue to the government. In the last five decades, Jaipur region has made manifold progress in the development of the poultry sector. Jaipur district is one such districts which has made a great headway in the promotion of poultry sector. With more than 14889 organized poultry farms, it has engaged more than 45000 people directly or indirectly.

The article discusses the features of innovation in agricultural sector, the direction of development of entrepreneurial activity in poultry industry based on integration processes. The aim of the study is to assess the efficiency of production in agro-industrial complex, in particular in poultry industry. Methods used in the work: comparison, synthesis, factor analysis of the main criteria, the level of specialization of an innovative enterprise through multiple regression. In the course of the study, the authors obtained the following results – promising areas of activity of poultry farms in the transition to an innovative development model were identified; assessed the possibilities of integration in the enterprises of the republic for production of poultry products in the form of expanding the production structure or merging with other companies; the predicted values of the poultry farming trend were calculated, the influence of factors on the basis of longterm economic data on the activities of poultry farms and poultry production program until 2025 have been identified in the course of studying. The achievements of LLP "Ordabasy kus" of Turkestan region, which carried out the modernization of production are presented. The authors developed recommendations and presented conclusions on modernization of domestic production while simultaneously reducing labor costs and funds per unit of production of poultry industry in order to increase its efficiency based on integration and innovative technologies, which, in turn, will increase productivity of poultry.

Research subject. This report examines the current situation in poultry egg sector development in countries of Eastern Europe, features and challenges for Ukrainian eggs sector. The aim of the work is to summarize theoretical and practical aspects of improving the economic efficiency of poultry industry enterprises, to analyse the current state of the organization of egg poultry production, to develop and substantiate general recommendations for improving the state of the poultry industry at specialized enterprises. The methodology of the study includes statistical methods and methods of economic and comparative analysis, etc. The article presents the results of research on the dynamics of poultry development in Eastern Europe and Ukraine in particular. The movement of poultry, the level of poultry production and the production of chicken eggs, consumption of poultry products are analysed. The functional and organizational structure of the poultry business in Ukraine is developed. The general structure of poultry production allocation is provided, which proves the formation of poultry farming as an industrial business and reduction in the share of poultry keeping in households due to the concentration of production in specialized enterprises. The main producers of poultry products in Ukraine are revised. The dynamics of sales prices for chicken eggs and main factors influencing its annual fluctuations are investigated. The export potential of poultry farming is analysed, as well as the main importer countries of Ukrainian poultry production. The issue of modern challenges and problem areas of production of the corresponding products is investigated, concerning less manoeuvrability of small poultry farms, their inability to influence the conjuncture of the poultry market. The main threats to the activities of enterprises are named, first of all, by external factors: the economic situation in the country, which affects purchasing power of buyers, the level of egg prices, increased competition from large enterprises and enterprises of EU member states, livestock diseases and the epidemiological situation in the country. The analysis of the possibilities of further development of poultry farms, taking into account the existing potential and modern poultry business problems, is carried out. The main directions for improving production with the aim of improving the efficiency of the poultry industry are determined: improving biotechnological processes, providing a set of measures improving poultry, compliance stocking density of birds in the poultry house, proper nutrition by scientifically grounded norms of consumption of nutrients and elements; improvement of methodological basis of state supervision over the quality and safety of food products and raw materials; creation of modern instrumental analytical framework and quality control and safety of food raw materials and foodstuffs, etc.

Organizational and economic principles of poultry production, which are formed by the system of internal and external factors, have been researched in the article. To diagnose these factors, the system of developed economic indicators has been used. The evaluation and analysis of these indicators make it possible to determine the state of organizational and economic level of poultry production enterprises. The main purpose of this research is to highlight the study outcomes of poultry industry development at Ukrainian enterprises. It is planned to analyse the structural dynamics of poultry number, the impact of factors affecting gross production of poultry products, research on impact of feed on the enterprise economic efficiency and profit increase by reducing the production cost. The relevance of this research is conditioned by further scientific research of development trends and regional features of poultry enterprises efficiency and competitiveness increase and substantiation of strategic perspectives. In the process of solving these tasks, general and special methods have been used: abstract and logical – to clarify the essence of main economic categories; analysis and synthesis – to analyse the development and economic efficiency level of poultry enterprises; comparative analysis – to compare different phenomena and processes regarding their impact on economic efficiency of poultry enterprises. Ukraine has been chosen as a research object. The expediency of efficient poultry development is necessitated by the need to tackle the most important socio-economic challenge – food security guaranty – not only for the individual region but also for the country as a whole, as poultry farming is rapidly growing industry. But the problem is the restoration and development of poultry farming with the involvement of a wide range of specialists, the study of poultry enterprises economic efficiency, taking into account the features of technological processes in this industry. Results of the study may be useful for the analysis and effective development of poultry industry as part of agricultural sector.

Paratyphoid Salmonella significantly impacts modern poultry farming, because it is one of the main causes of foodborne diseases in the world. Efforts have been made by the government and poultry industry to reduce the existence of Salmonella in the entire poultry production chain through sanitary programs. The aim of this work was to investigate the occurrence of Salmonella spp. and its serovars in environmental sources of production, poultry, and carcasses slaughtered in an artisanal manner in the northern mesoregion of Maranhão State, Brazil. A total of 520 samples were collected, comprising drag swabs (n = 60), prope (n = 60), cecal feces (n = 60), feed of feeder (n = 60), and cloacal swabs (n = 100) of poultry sent for slaughter, and newly slaughtered carcasses (n = 180). The samples were subjected to culture and isolation of Salmonella spp. and serotyping. The occurrence of the genus Salmonella was 25.0% (15/60) in drag swabs, 16.6% (10/60) in prope, 1.7% (1/60) in cecal feces, absent (0/60) in the feed, 7% (7/100) in cloacal swabs, and 48.9% (88/180) in poultry carcasses. Fifteen Salmonella enterica serovars were identified in the samples, with the highest occurrence in the Schwarzengrund (28.09%; 34/121), Albany (19.83%; 24/121), Enteritidis (7.43%; 9/121), and Heidelberg (7.43%; 9/121). Salmonella ser. Schwarzengrund showed higher predominance in the poultry production chain, with greater isolation in carcass samples (34 isolates), while Salmonella ser. Enteritidis had the highest occurrence in the initial production chain. The results of our study indicate the need to implement sanitary control in farms for paratyphoid salmonella and that artisanal poultry slaughter can increase bacterial dissemination in the final product, representing a public health risk.

Rice is a staple food and daily routine for Malaysians. Currently, the increasing population in Malaysia has led to the need to increase rice production with more quality. Therefore,the government established a scheme with national organic standards, MS 1259: 2015 which is myOrganic certification to recognize organic farms. Koperasi ABSB is the first rice farm that obtained this certification. Thus, the aims of this study are to explore the implementation of myOrganic in Koperasi ABSB and the barriers faced by this cooperative to implementing myOrganic certification. Qualitative method is used in this case study through interviews and observation. The finding showed that the implementation of myOrganic is as follows, by register myGAP, register myOrganic, Department of Agricultural Malaysia (DOA) will send a supervisor, prepare nine files or records, perform internal and external audit, and renew myOrganic. This study is expected to increase awareness of organic farming practices and promote the implementation of myOrganic in agriculture industry especially for the new farmer who wants to register and obtain myOrganic certification.

Special Economic Zone has been introduced as a new approach in Indonesia for regional development purposes on the basic of economic activities concentration. Some countries have run such project as part of national income and thus opening new job opportunity for the local people. A concept for its development need to be established since it also affects to the government’s expenditure. This is a chance for the government to open mind in creating new investment from other countries to Indonesia. Two cities have been chosen as cases of study namely Bitung – north Sulawesi Province and Dumai – Riau Province. The first is known as fish processing industry city whereas the second one is known as CPO processing industry city. This study has proved that Dumai has a good prospect as a special economic zone based on the application of Powersim dynamic programming model for its analysis.

In this chapter Ruchi Ram Sahni recounts what he calls the most depressing and unpleasant incident of his life. It involved his supersession for the position of Professor-in-Charge of the Chemistry Department at the Government College, Lahore, by a much younger Englishman, fresh from university. The post in question was vacated by an English colleague, a Senior Professor, with whom the author had a difficult relationship involving a dispute about who was to be selected for the post of Examiner in the university examinations. This colleague went on to write a secret report against Sahni, resulting in his supersession despite his vast seniority. Sahni relates the psychological trauma resulting from this experience, and its contribution to strengthen his resolve to leave Lahore for a short period to do research in Europe.

Poultry farming is integral part of agriculture in Nepal. The objective of this research was to analyze the prevailing production constraints, characterization of poultry farming and its economic analysis using questionnaire-based survey and on-site investigation. 180 farms were selected from 3 major districts. Garrett’s ranking technique was used to analyze the constraints.  Highly significant difference (P<0.01) in size of poultry farm was found. We found significant difference in feeding, housing and drinking system for the chicken. Un-organized chicken marketing channel was observed in the study area.   High chicks’ mortality, wastage of feed, insecure vaccination and frequent drop in egg production were characteristic of laying hens. Newcastle disease and Chronic Respiratory Disease were acknowledged as the biggest constraint of chicken production. Government and concerned agencies need to take active part for the extension service to strengthen the health of chicken and organized marketing channel is essential for selling of poultry products  which can improve the profit to the farmers.Int. Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore the essential cause for the policy failure of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) in South Korea. Design/methodology/approach To substantiate the claims made for the failure of the policy, this paper focuses on the differences in policy preferences among the government ministries and agencies involved in TAA. Findings The failure in the TAA policy, according to this study, was attributed to the conflicts and miscoordination arising from the differences in policy preferences among government ministries and agencies. To rectify this failure, the South Korean government had to revise its laws and regulations several times over a short period. Originality/value Drawing on the analytical framework of the literature on policy failure, this paper examines the causal relationships between outcomes of TAA policy and the conflicts or miscoordination among government bodies at each stage: initiatives and planning, implementation and operation of the policy.

Almost 100% of mothers in Israel, irrespective of their cultural background, start breast feeding their infants. This is in accordance with the accepted policy of the medical and nursing professions in Israel. Complete breast feeding is continued only for a relatively short period. At the end of the second month of life, half the infants already receive complementary food, and only 5% are exclusively breast-fed during their fifth month. Partial breast feeding is continued in 50% of the infants until the ninth month, and for a small fraction of the sample (mainly Sepharadim and Arabs) this continues until the middle of the second year of life. The complementary food contains all the essential nutrients for the healthy development of infants, although no quantitative measurements were made in this study. The intakes of protein supplement and vitamins A and D lag behind the recommended schedules, especially among the groups of oriental origin. There are no striking differences in the pattern of feeding and weaning in the various groups. Apparently the different patterns of feeding "imported" by immigrants from the various countries rapidly become integrated in Israel; there is an impression that a national pattern is evolving. The guidance given by the preventive services for mothers is particularly instrumental in this direction. This guidance is especially evident in the way complementary feeding is introduced and in the way the decision on weaning is made.
