The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of church ministries and their influences on church followers inKiminini sub-county, Trans-Nzoia. The main problem that promoted the researcher to do the study on the topic was that church leadership seemed to be the cause of the challenges facing many church followers..The researcher wished to unearth the origin of many churches and the effects of believers and how they affect the management of many churches .The objectives of the study established the way church leadership pin church followers on sin rather than love, determine the extent to which followers depend on church leadership for growth and development and to establish the teachings that the church followers receive from church leadership. .The study applied the Charismatic Leadership Theory by Max Weber 1924-47 and LMX Theory (1975) and Servant Leadership Theory Robert Greenleaf, 1977 .The researcher exploited the study by descriptive researcher design which provided a mixed research design that led to a triangular design. The descriptive survey design was applied to gather information on the way church followers respond to church leadership..The variables under review were independent ,dependent and intervening variables .The simple random sampling techniques and purposive sampling techniques were utilized .The instruments of questionnaires ,interview schedules and focused group method were used that gave the findings for discussions and interpretations..The data was analyzed descriptively using tables and percentages and presented the summary conclusions, recommendations and gaps for further research where it will be used by other researchers, scholars, church leaders and educationists.

The results of this study show leadership theory proposed by Max Weber and the type of leadership in an educational organization namely Weber which divides leadership patterns based on their dominance theory into three, namely traditional, charismatic, and rational leadership. It turns out that in practice the leadership of the kiai in pesantren has a very important role to advance the world of education in boarding schools. But what is also important is the educational background of the clerics and the environment where the kiai is. The type of kiai leadership in Islamic Boarding School Nurul Islam by kiai Syazali uses a type of traditionalist charismatic leadership and in certain moments uses an autocratic and democratic pattern, in the curriculum it has combined between salafiyah and modern, it can be seen from the inclusion of several government curricula, both from the Education Office and the Ministry Religion. Whereas the type of leadership applied by the cleric Tol'at is a type of modernist rational leadership, and at certain times intructive and coordinative patterns are used by scholars and practicing politics. So that it has implications for the activities of the pesantren both concerning the regeneration of leadership, the learning system, the value system and the network of kiai in society, to the kiai with practical politics. It is increasingly interesting to explore this dissertation further, so that the Malay traditions in South Sumatra appear to be correct.

Protected Areas (PAs) are created for the protection and maintenance of biological diversity, but many of Ghana’s PAs are subjectto severe pressures and threats, the main pressures being the illegal extraction of natural resources. Rattans are indisputablyone of the most important Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) in Ghana’s Protected Areas that is without doubt one of thereasons for which it has drawn the attention of researchers. In this study the illegal rattan extraction patterns in the AnkasaConservation Area (ACA) in Ghana was inspected. Simple random sampling and Snowball sampling techniques were used. Datacollection employed the use of semi-structured questionnaires, interviews and field enumeration of rattans as well as an analysisof Effective Patrol Man-days (EPMDS) from 2004 to 2012. The results showed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.75, p<0.05, r2 = 0.557) between patrol effort and rattan extraction encounters. In addition, there was a general reduction in illegalrattan extraction encounters from 2004 to 2012 at a rate of 4.3 per year. The highest illegal rattan extraction incidences wererecorded in 2006 (76 encounters), 2005 (35 encounters), 2008 (22 encounters), 2004 (18 encounters) and the least incidencewere recorded in both 2010 (3 encounters) and 2011 (3 encounters). The research also revealed that Eremospatha macrocarpawas the most extracted rattan species followed by Laccosperma secundiflorum. The major rattan extraction and trade routesoriginate in the northern parts and in the area east of the reserve and also south of Draw River Forest Reserve. Generally, rattanpoaching in Ankasa Conservation Area has declined, but there are still human incursions in the northern part of the reserve. Thestudy recommended an intensification of patrols in the north of the reserve. Also, enrichment planting and Agroforestry practicesof inter-cropping rattans with seasonal crops should be pursued vigorously for the local communities.

Background: A number of football matches in Gweru district have been characterised by undesirable acts of spectator violence resulting in injury and malicious damage to property. Football spectator violence is a very negative phenomenon in football because it chases away sponsors who do not want their organisations and brands to be associated with hooliganism. Violence also discourages spectators from attending football matches as they fear for their safety. This status quo precipitated the need to identify football stakeholders’ perceptions on the causes of spectator violence during football matches at Division One level in Gweru District. Aims: The primary aim and focus of this study was to investigate spectator violence among football spectators in Gweru district in Zimbabwe. Objectives: The objectives of the study were to identify the main causes of football spectator violence and recommend strategies to mitigate or even eliminate this scourge. Study Setting: The study was conducted in Gweru district in the midlands province of Zimbabwe. Materials and Methods: The study adopted the quantitative research approach utilising the descriptive survey design. Closed questionnaires were used to collect data from, twenty division one footballers from four Gweru division one football clubs, twenty spectators, six football referees and four coaches. This resulted in a total sample of fifty (50) respondents. Simple random sampling (Gold Fish Bowl procedure) was used to select the twenty players and six referees. Purposive sampling was used to select the four coaches and twenty football spectators. Statistics: Data was analysed statistically using simple frequency tables. Results and Conclusion: The study revealed that spectator violence during football matches at division one level in Gweru is mainly a result of hooliganism, controversial refereeing, lack of fair play by footballers in the field of play, outcome of matches, rivalry between clubs and euphoria. Factors such as use of juju, prestige seeking by spectators and reporting of violence by the media were found to be minor contributors towards football spectator violence during football matches in Gweru district. Recommendations: The study recommends that the Zimbabwe republic police who provide security during these violent matches should tighten security at football matches by searching all fans thoroughly for dangerous weapons and alcohol at stadia entry points. ZIFA and PSL should educate all football clubs on the negative effects of violence and punish offending teams severely. The clubs should educate their fans to shun violence. Sponsors should include funds in their sponsorship packages for purposes of educating fans on violence. Soccer players should lead by example and avoid provoking other team’s fans
