The aim of this study is to describe media ideology and construct media independence in the 2019 political year. Ideology has a major influence on the determination of media content. It is as if the general election democracy party cannot be separated from the mass media, so that the reporting of events "attacking each other" by the candidate pair cannot be avoided in the general election contestation. The object of the study was Kompas.com reporting on time limitations during the 2019 presidential and vice presidential election campaign. The research method used was qualitative library research. Data collection techniques using documentation. The results showed that the challenge of media ideology in maintaining the independence of media coverage in the political year must use the principles of independence. They are the presence or absence of opinion, personalization, sensation, stereotype, linkage, and accuracy in reporting.

Although female candidates have achieved parity on some dimensions, political institutions remain deeply gendered in how they structure the parameters of electoral competition. We rely on a new data set of gubernatorial races from the 1990s to address the theoretical and empirical challenges created by the interaction of gender, media content, and electoral institutions. Based on an analysis of 1,365 newspaper articles for 27 contests in which a woman held a major party nomination, we uncover evidence of continuing bias in media coverage. Yet significant coefficients on candidate sex tell only part of the story. Gendered contextual factors linked to the contest and state in which candidates compete, as well as the newspapers that cover their races, also affect women's experiences on the campaign trail. The major finding, however, is the presence of a powerful baseline effect favoring male candidates that is deeply embedded in U.S. politics. All else equal, women gubernatorial candidates suffer a substantial vote deficit that results from non-observable influences. The results support the emerging consensus among feminist theorists that greater focus on the political context is likely to produce bigger scholarly payoffs than is continued attention to observable differences between male and female candidates.

Abstract: The selection process through the (general) election mechanism can be identified with the electoral system ever implemented in the Islamic government. First, the electoral system of ahl al-hall wa al-'aqd which was carried out by the trust and allegiance. Second, the electoral system of ahl al-hall wa al-'aqd which was done through the periodic election, selection in society, and by the head of state. Parliamentary Threshold (PT) is a threshold mechanism in place at legislative elections (for parliament) with a percentage of 2.5% for the political parties which contested the election to follow the counting in the determination of the House of Representative’s seats. Parliamentary Threshold, according to Law No. 10 year 2008, article 202, paragraph 1 (regarding the election of members of DPR, DPD and DPRD) in the 2009 election, was implemented by calculating the minimum total of 2.5% of the valid votes in the national political party contestants. Then those parties were listed, which ones were the Parliamentary Threshold and which ones were not the Parliamentary Threshold to determine BPP to calculate the DPR’s seats for the electoral party contestants that had passed the threshold. Keywords: Parliamentary threshold, general election, democracy, and constitution

The main focus of the research is the representation of migration in Latvian media. In total, 860 publications were analysed covering both Latvian and Russian speaking media content, and the following two methodological approaches were applied: the framing analysis of textual and visual content, and historical discourse analysis in order to reveal the arguments and strategies behind the justification of intolerance. The research data reveals that the framing of migration in Latvian media is left in the hands of politicians and officials. Economic strains and threat argumentation topoi dominate media discussions. The influence of migration is explained and approached from an economic perspective, and most frequently, the intolerance against migrants is interpreted as a failure attributed to the political elite – their inability to solve problems. Intolerance justification strategies were detected in 79% of the publications. This figure confirms that the authors are aware of intolerance not being a virtue nowadays, and the causes of it must be backed up and supported. Visual messages depict migrants exclusively as unidentifiable, dangerous, as a part of an anonymous crowd.

The government poured out the budget of trillions as a form of seriousness in handling the coronavirus outbreak which began to spread in Indonesia in the early of 2020. The amount of subsidized funds for the care of covid-19 patients provided by the government to hospitals is used by rogue hospital personnel to reap huge profits by convicting patients who are suffering from other diseases so that they have the status of covid-19 patients (not covid-19, sentenced to covid-19). This research is a type of normative legal research which is conducted by examining the library materials or secondary data. The secondary data in the form of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and tertiary legal materials used in this study were obtained through books, government publications, internal organizational records, reports, journals, and various sites related to coronavirus.
