Now a days due to sedentary lifestyle and lack of time, people cannot concentrate on their proper regimen and people undergo many unwanted practices like faulty dietary habits, improper sitting posture, continuous work in one posture and overexertion, load bearing movements during travelling and sports. All these factors lead to the increase in the incidents of Manyasthambha in a large population. In classics Manyasthambha is explained under Vataja Nanatmaja Vikaras and is mentioned as Kaphaavruta Vata in its Samprapthi. While explaining treatment of Manyasthambha, Acharya Susruta clearly explains about Rooksha Sweda and Nasya which helps in the Samprapti Vighatana of Avarana in Manyasthambha.

Abstract Since the ability to train the horse to be ambidextrous is considered highly desirable, rider asymmetry is recognized as a negative trait. Acquired postural and functional asymmetry can originate from numerous anatomical regions, so it is difficult to suggest if any is developed due to riding. The aim of this study was therefore to assess symmetry of posture, strength and flexibility in a large population of riders and to determine whether typical traits exist due to riding. 127 right handed riders from the UK and USA were categorized according to years riding (in 20 year increments) and their competition level (using affiliated test levels). Leg length, grip strength and spinal posture were measured and recorded by a physiotherapist. Standing and sitting posture and trunk flexibility were measured with 3-D motion capture technology. Right-left differences were explored in relation to years riding and rider competitive experience. Significant anatomical asymmetry was found for the difference in standing acromion process height for a competition level (-0.07±1.50 cm Intro/Prelim; 0.02±1.31 cm Novice; 0.43±1.27 cm Elementary+; p=0.048) and for sitting iliac crest height for years riding (-0.23±1.36 cm Intro/Prelim; 0.01±1.50 cm Novice; 0.86±0.41 cm Elementary+; p=0.021). For functional asymmetry, a significant interaction was found for lateral bending ROM for years riding x competition level (p=0.047). The demands on dressage riders competing at higher levels may predispose these riders to a higher risk of developing asymmetry and potentially chronic back pain rather than improving their symmetry

Pratyaksha (direct perception), Anumana (inference), Aptopadesha (testimony), and Yukti (reasoning) are the tools that helps for the diagnosis of the disease.  To fulfill this purpose Atura-Pariksha (examination of patients), Dravya Pariksha (examination of medicinal drug and preparations), and Roga-Rogi Pariksha (examination of the patient and disease), etc. are a very important tool. The concept of Sara is described under Dashavidha Atura Pariksha (tenfold examination), and it is an important concept in both Swastha-rakshana (maintenance of health) and Aturasya Vikara Prashamana (treatment of disease). The concept of Sara is explained by different Acharyas elaborately in their own way. In spite of tremendous success in modern medical science, the incidence of diseases are increasing enormously. A sedentary lifestyle and improper dietary habits has led to the emergence of several health problems, including Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), and it is emerging as a major disease affecting mankind with many complications.  Hence present study has been undertaken to understand Sara because all persons vary from one another in many ways, and a personalized approach to patient care should be adopted to plan appropriate therapeutics. Dietary factors, lifestyle, and psychological factors are involved in the aetiology of Madhumeha (T2DM). The Twak Sara, Shukra Sara, Asthi Sara, and Majja Sara persons are more prone to develop Madhumeha (T2DM). The Meda Sara and Mamsa Sara are less prone to develop Madhumeha (T2DM). We don’t find the Rakta Sara individuals in our study.

Today is the era of modernization and fast life. Everybody is busy and living stressful life. Changing life style of person has created many disharmonies in his biological system. Advancement of busy, professional life and social life, improper sitting posture, continuous work in one posture, jerking movements during travelling and sports, all these factors create undue pressure and stress injury to spine and play an important role in producing disease like cervical spondylosis. In this study total 70 patients of Cervical Spondylosis having signs and symptoms of same, selected from OPD of our hospital. Patients were divided into two groups, 35 patients in control group and 35 patients in trial group. Patients in trial group were advised to Practice Makarasan as per yoga module adapted during study and Patients in control group were advised to do Neck Exercise as per neck exercise module adapted during study for 90 days daily. Assessment was done on the basis of pain, tenderness, stiffness and x-ray report of cervical spine before and after study. Makarasan is significantly effective in reduction of signs and symptoms of cervical spondylosis but there were no changes seen in anatomical structures in patients of cervical spondylosis after intervention of Makarasan.

Childhood obesity is a worldwide health emergency. In many cases, it is directly linked to inappropriate eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. During lockdown aimed at containing the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread, children have been forced to stay at home. The present study aimed at investigating the lifestyles of outpatients (aged 5–17 years) with complicated obesity enrolled in the day-hospital food education program at the Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù in Rome. A survey was performed based on a structured questionnaire, investigating dietary habits and lifestyles. The questionnaire answers were rated as “yes/no/sometimes” or “often/never/sometimes”. Eighty-eight families correctly completed the questionnaire between March and May 2020. The results highlighted that 85.2% (N = 75) of the patients ate breakfast regularly, and 64.3% (N = 72) consumed fruit as an afternoon snack. However, 21.6% (N = 19) did just “often” home workouts, and 50.0% (N = 44) reported an increase of feeling hungry with “sometimes” frequency. There is a significant relationship of feeling hungry with gender (p < 0.0001) and age (p = 0.048) and, also, between gender with having breakfast (p = 0.020) and cooking (p = 0.006). Living a healthy lifestyle during lockdown was difficult for the outpatients, mainly due to the increase in a sedentary lifestyle and the increase in feeling hungry, but some healthy eating habits were maintained, as advised during the food education program provided before lockdown.
