The Lexicon of Kaliuda to Improve the Student’s Descriptive Writing Text

This study aims to determine the kinds of lexicon discovered in kaliuda that has several motive so the students can learn and finding out the lexicon that improve students’ writing descriptive text. Because by studying and multiplying the vocabulary the students will be easier to write the descriptive text. Students’ ability to write descriptive text relates to mastery of vocabulary. Mastery vocabulary as a basic for mastering language skills that can increase students’ ability to express and writing as productive skill. The method of data collection in this study were obtained by observation consist of several technic, observe the students’ learning process then continued by data arranging suitable with lexicon that contained in Kaliuda as a learning media. The data obtained was conveyed by qualitative method. The students’ writing skill can increase of lexicon was found from kaliuda. The result of this study show that kaliuda has many lexicon inside. At the beginning the students asked to find out the various motive to described it. Based on the students’ descriptions of the kaliuda is able to make the students improve their writing descriptive text skill. By using kaliuda motive the students directly imagine what they will learn such as the lexicon, language use, and etc. Kaliuda as description quite interesting and good to enrich their vocabularies in order to improve the capability of writing descriptive text.

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the use of instruction-based instructional model, knowing what kind of error students find in writing descriptive text as well as to to improve students' self confidence in English, especially in descriptive writing writing skill. The sample of this research is class X students of SMK Triatma Jaya Dalung consisting of 25 students. The study was conducted in January and February 2018 from two research cycles. The first cycle for the pretest and the second cycle for posttes. The results of the study found that the application of Problem Based Instruction (PBI) based learning process can improve the writing of paragraphs of argument on Class X SMK Triatma Jaya Dalung. Application of learning with the PBI model can also increase student learning activities. The mistakes often made by the students of class X of SMK Triatma Jaya Dalung in writing descriptive text paragraphs among them in terms of creativity of topic development, in terms of organization that includes the structure of argumentation and in terms of vocabulary selection, language use, and mechanical aspects, the argumentation has several deficiency. Management of learning with the right PBI model can improve the skills of writing paragraphs of descriptive text of students of Class X SMK Triatma Jaya Dalung. First, the PBI model is more fun in learning to write descriptive text paragraphs. Secondly, the PBI model is more effective in writing descriptive text paragraphs because the problems that exist in reading are easier and inspire students in generating ideas. Text based approach is one of the approaches implemented in 2013 curriculum which is ignored by the English teacher in teaching. Besides, the teacher has not yet related the materials taught with the learners` environment, especially the local excellences.  This research aims to give a description both quantitatively and qualitatively on how the result of descriptive writing skill of the 7th graders’ of SMP Kristen Payeti before and after the implementation of text-based approach using ecotext with the theme of horse `njara` is. The data were collected through pretest, observation during the treatment, and posttest. This research uses concurrent embedded design in which the qualitative method is embedded or nested within the quantitative method. The results show that before the treatment the average achievement of the learners in composing descriptive text was 62. It is below the minimum completion criteria (KKM), that is 70. Individually, only 10 of 32 learners passed the exam. After the treatment, the average achievement became 78.69 or increased by 16.69 on five aspects analyzed, content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanic. Only 3 of 32 learners failed. In addition, the treatment is suitable with the perspective of ecolinguistics in language learning, mainly the relation, the context, the emergence, the quality, the variability, and the activity. In conclusion, text based approach using ecotext can be implemented to improve the learners skill in writing descriptive text.

Abstract - Early March 2020, the corona virus began to spread in Indonesia. To suppress the wider spread of the virus, the government made policies regarding social restrictions. This has resulted in many schools and colleges, offices and companies, and other public places, deciding whether employees or their students should work or study from home. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of online learning during the Corona virus pandemic in Bandung Kridatama Polytechnic students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, and data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. While the analysis of data acquisition was carried out by collecting data, reducing data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study revealed that online learning carried out during the Corona virus pandemic was ineffective because obstacles were still found that interfered with the learning process, including the absence of two-way communication between students and lecturers, Besides other obstacles, namely students who do not have enough quotas to take part in online learning, or lecturers who do not understand technology so that learning is not carried out using online learning applications but through Whatsapp groups. Untuk menekan penyebaran virus yang lebih luas lagi, pemerintah membuat kebijakan mengenai pembatasan sosial.  Hal tersebut mengakibatkan banyak sekolah dan kampus, kantor dan perusahaan,  serta tempat-tempat publik lainnya, memutuskan  para karyawan atau anak didiknya untuk bekerja atau belajar dari rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas pembelajaran online di masa pandemi virus Corona pada mahasiswa Politeknik Kridatama Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis perolehan data dilakukan dengan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pembelajaran online yang dilaksanakan selama masa pandemi virus Corona kurang efektif karena masih ditemukan hambatan yang mengganggu proses pembelajaran diantara-Nya tidak terjalinnya komunikasi dua arah antara mahasiswa dan dosen, disamping hambatan-hambatan lainnya yaitu mahasiswa yang tidak memiliki cukup kuota untuk mengikuti pembelajaran online, atau dosen yang kurang memahami teknologi sehingga pembelajaran tidak dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi pembelajaran online tetapi melalui grup Whatsapp. Kata Kunci: pembelajaran, pembelajaran online, pandemik, virus Corona

The objective of this research was to find out whether there was an increase on students’ and teacher’s activity, students’ creativity, and students’ writing skill through the implementation of project based learning (PjBL). The research design was a classroom action research. The subjects were the first graders of class Tata Kecantikan Kulit (TKK) or Skin and Beauty Treatment at Vocational High School State 3 Metro, known as SMKN 3 Metro, in the second semester, academic year 2015/2016. This action research was done by doing: 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation and data collection; and 4) reflection. Meanwhile, the PjBL was done through six steps, i.e.: 1) determining the project; 2) planning the steps of doing the project; 3) scheduling the project implementation; 4) completing project with guide and supervision from the teacher; 5) making report and presenting project result; 6) evaluatiing process and project result. The instruments of this research were students and teacher observation, creativity assesssment, and writing skill assesssment. The findings showed that the students’ and teacher’s activity gradually increased in each cycle. PjBL implementation also seemed to be effective in increasing the students’ creativity and writing skill. It indicated that by applying PjBL, the aspects of students’ and teacher’s activity in learning process, students’ creativity and writing skill could be directly influenced by the treatment.Key words: PjBL, activity, creativity, writing skill

It feels familiar to us with one of the Arabic subjects. Moreover, Arabic learning has existed at the school level from elementary to tertiary education. Arabic learning must stand and cannot be separated from several kinds of language skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, apart from the four language skills, we must pay attention to one of the important aspects of language and this is also not separated because without this aspect, language will not be organized. These important aspects are the nahwu rules that we must learn and cannot be separated from the four skills of Arabic. The purpose of this study was to determine how effective the use of the spinning wheel media was in learning Arabic, especially in the subject of qawaid nahwu. Data collection methods used observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The approach used is quantitative with the type of research Quasi Experimental One Group Pretest Posttest. The result of this research is that the use of the spnning wheel media can improve the qawaid nahwu learning process in the seventh grade training of the students of the Darul Qur'an Wal Islamic Boarding School, Wonosari, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.

The research discusses tolerance education through the teaching and learning of Kema'arifan (wisdom) at SMA (Senior High School) Ma'arif Bandung. In contrast to other studies, this research will be more focused on discussing the process of inculcating tolerance values in schools with the background of Nahdatul Ulama (NU). The research will describe how teachers convey tolerance values through classroom teaching and learning. The research employed qualitative method with data collection techniques of interview, observation, and documentary study. The results show that Kema'arifan instruction can provide deeper knowledge about Islam, aswaja, and other groups. In the teaching and learning process, teachers convey the values of tolerance through lecture, and question- answer methods. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pendidikan toleransi melalui pembelajaran mata pelajaran Kema’arifan di SMA Ma’arif Bandung.Berbeda dengan penelitian yang lain, penelitian ini akan lebih membahas tentang suatu proses penanaman nilai toleransi di sekolah yang berlatar belakang organisasi Nahdatul Ulama (NU). Penelitian ini akan menguraikan bagaimana cara guru dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui suatu proses pembelajaran di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Kema’arifan mampu memberikan pengetahuan secara lebih mendalam tentang Islam, aswaja, serta golongan-golongan yang lainnya. Dalam proses pembelajaran, guru menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui metode ceramah dan tanya jawab.

This study aims to see the implementation of interpersonal dialogue in learning English to enhance students' ability in using the English language. This study used a qualitative method. The data collection technique uses observation techniques to see the process of the implementation of learning to use interpersonal dialogue, and interview techniques to determine the impact of implementing interpersonal dialogue. Respondents in this study were lecturer and students. The results showed that during the learning process, the interpersonal dialogue was created between students and students and lecturer. Then, there is an increase in learning activities, student participation, students get additional knowledge in the form of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and self-confidence. In conclusion, the implementation of interpersonal dialogue can build communicative learning, because of the interactive communication between students and lecturers, as well as students and students during the learning process. As well as increasing student ability and student confidence in using English.

This research applies descriptive qualitative method aiming at knowing the format and model as well as the motivating and resisting power of English learning at Tamirul Islam Male Boarding School Surakarta. From observations and interviews, it is found that there is as direct learning strategy using teacher-centered approach. This learning strategy is even more detailed by the army method learning model which emphasizes high discipline and teacher authority as well as direct method which stresses on the teacher instructions. The learning model of the school follows behavioristic patterns that emphasizes on customization in language skills. It is combined with army method patterns that treat students with rewards and punishments. The motivating power of the English learning process at the boarding house is the availability of facilities, biah lughowiyah or the environment that supports the students to be able to speak and write in English. Meanwhile, the ressisting factor is the ignorance of most students toward the punishments given by the authority.

The aim of this research is to know the process of Lesson Study based learning and the improvement of sytaxis learning achievement through Lesson Study based learning on IV semester students of Indonesian Language and Letter Education Study Program Pakuan University. This research is desgined as action research with lesson study based. There are four cycles used in this research. Every stage on lesson study cycles comprise of plan, do, see. The data colleted is analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research shows that lesson study based learning process gives a wide opportunity, both to the lecturer and students to innovate, enhance activity, creativity, communication, and interaction during learning process. Collbaorative learning using various strategies, method, technique and media can focused the students in learning and understanding knowledge. It is relevant to be applied in syntactic learning where students discuss the events of concreat and contextual language use. Based on the observation result, the observers agree to the application of lesson study based learning. Students response are also positive towards the lesson study based learning, which can be stated that students are more interested in learning using lesson study based learning. Students syntax learning achievement shows an improvement, average score for posttest in first cycles 68,78, average score insecond cycle is77,45, average score in third cycle is 78,15, and average score in fourth cycles is 80,52. Therefore it can be concluded that there is an improvement on syntaxis learning achievement through lesson study based learning on IV semester students of Indonesian Language and Letter Education Study Program Pakuan University.

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui Penerapan strategi Everyone Is A Teacher Here dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis. Writing Skills is one of the important language skills in Arabic learning activities. The facts on the ground show that the learning process between teachers and students is difficult because they are still lacking in Arabic writing ability. For that reason, Arabic Language Learning requires an improvement to give an interest in writing skills. the strategy of Everyone Is A Teacher Here is chosen as a learning strategy to improve writing skills.
