The rising age at marriage and non-marriage has been occurring concurrently with the rising educational level in many developing countries. This paper examines the changing relationship between educational attainment and the marriage rate (per cent ever married) and timing (age at marriage) in Malaysia over the past four decades, using multiple waves of Labour Force Survey data. Bivariate analyses show significant educational differentials in the proportion ever married and mean age at marriage for males and females, across ethnic groups and urban-rural locations. The educational effect on the rate and timing of marriage varied over time. Results from binary logistic regression show that controlling for ethnicity, urban-rural location, and age, the negative educational effect on the rate of marriage has turned positive in recent years. The change in the direction of the relationship between education and marriage rate was more pronounced for males than for females. The reduction in the educational gradient and a shift from negative to positive effect means that the conventional hypothesis of the education-marriage nexus needs to be re-assessed. The effects of rising education on the rate and timing of marriage should be considered in the implementation of the National Family Policy.

The study was designed to investigate the relationship between internet addiction and aggression and to establish the psychometric properties of the scales. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect information about level of internet addiction and aggression among teenagers. To establish the psychometric properties, sample (n=200, having age 15-19 years) was selected from different schools and colleges of Haripur city. The results of research showed that the predictor variable internet addiction (β=.88) had a very high significant positive effect on outcome variable aggression with the level of significance p≤.000. The t-Test analysis showed significant difference between males and females on both variables.

This study aims at exploring the psychological determinants that influence job search intention among fresh graduates. Digital innovations have changed the employment landscape that allows people to have flexible job opportunities. Building from the theory of planned behaviour, job search attitude, subjective norms, self-efficacy and perceived behaviour control were predicted to have positive effect on job search intention. A survey was conducted and the results of the regression test show job search attitude, subjective norms and self-efficacy as determinants to job search intention, but the relationship between perceived behavioural control and job search intention was found to be negative. In fact, the strongest linkage is between self-efficacy and job search intention. The findings should alert employers, academic institutions and policy makers of the recent trend in employment, as the fresh graduates are one of the most valued supply of labour force. The study also highlights how digital era and the cyber community have shaped the younger generations perception of work engagement as the transition towards social mobility.

This study aims to determine the effect of capital structure, profitability, liquidity and leverage in predicting the potential for financial distress. This research includes causative research to see the relationship between variables. The data used is quantitative data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research population is large trading companies on the IDX for the 2017-2019 period. The sample used as many as 33 companies. This research uses binary logistic regression analysis technique with SPSS 26.0 tool. The results showed that capital structure with DER proxies, profitability with ROA proxies and liquidity with CR proxies had no effect on financial distress. Meanwhile, leverage with DAR proxy has a significant positive effect on financial distress. Keywords : Financial Distress; Capital Structure; Profitability; Liquidity and Leverage.

This reaserch aims to obtain empirical evidence of the effect of taxation socialization on tax amnesty as well as moderation of ease of procedures and the risk of offshore investment on the effect of tax socialization on tax amnesty. This research was conducted on taxpayers registered at the North Badung Primary Tax Service Office with a convenience sampling method. The analysis technique used is binary logistic regression with moderating regression analysis (MRA). Based on the results of this study indicate that taxation socialization has a significant positive effect on tax amnesty which means the higher the taxation socialization, the higher the tax amnesty participation. The interaction between ease of procedure and taxation socialization has a significant positive effect, which means that ease of procedure is able to strengthen the relationship between taxation socialization and tax amnesty. The interaction of offshore investment risks has a positive but not significant effect on tax amnesty which means that offshore investment risks are not able to strengthen the relationship of tax socialization to tax amnesty. Keywords: Tax Amnesty; Ease of Procedure; Offshore Investment Risk.

Land leasing provides financial support for the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC’s) urbanization. This chapter explores the relationship between land policies and urbanization in the PRC. In particular, it explores the relationship between urbanization and land leasing. It finds that the urbanization rate and the land-leasing revenue are positively related. Land leasing provides financial support for PRC’s urbanization, but damages the interests of landless peasants. Especially in the west, population urbanization lags behind land urbanization, resulting in much higher land and house prices in the east than those in inland PRC. Current land and household registration policies hinder the mobility of production factors, including construction land and the labour force, and distort the process of urbanization and industrialization. The land policy should be revised such that the market determines the allocation of land resources, which will create a unified, competitive urban–rural land market.

The present research analyzes the relationship between attachment styles at an adult age and field dependence in order to identify possible individual differences in information processing. The “Experience in Close Relationships” test of Brennan et al. was administered to a sample of 380 individuals (160 males, 220 females), while a subsample of 122 subjects was given the Embedded Figure Test to measure field dependence. Confirming the starting hypothesis, the results have shown that individuals with different attachment styles have a different way of perceiving the figure against the background. Ambivalent and avoidant individuals lie at the two extremes of the same dimension while secure individuals occupy the central part. Significant differences also emerged between males and females.

Abstract This study aims to empirically challenge the moderation of Non-Performing Loans to the effect of Credit Distribution Rates on Profitability. The population of 81 bank companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2014-2018 and which met the criteria of the research sample (purposive sampling) were 22 companies. The research method uses survey methods with quantitative research approaches, the analytical tool used is moderation regression. This study concludes that the level of credit distribution has a significant positive effect on profitability and the existence of the problem loan variable is proven to be a moderating variable that weakens the relationship between the level of credit distribution and profitability.

Rural economies in developing countries are often characterized by credit constraints. Although few attempts have been made to understand the trends and patterns of male out-migration from Uttar Pradesh (UP), there is dearth of literature on the linkage between credit accessibility and male migration in rural Uttar Pradesh. The present study tries to fill this gap. The objective of this study is to assess the role of credit accessibility in determining rural male migration. A primary survey of 370 households was conducted in six villages of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Simple statistical tools and a binary logistic regression model were used for analyzing the data. The result of the empirical analysis shows that various sources of credit and accessibility to them play a very important role in male migration in rural Uttar Pradesh. The study also found that the relationship between credit constraints and migration varies across various social groups in UP.

Well-functioning financial markets can have a positive effect on economic growth by facilitating savings and more efficient allocation of capital. This paper characterises some of the recent theoretical developments that analyse the relationship between financial intermediation and economic growth and presents empirical estimates based on a model of the linkage between financially intermediated investment and growth for two separate groups of countries, developing and advanced. Empirical estimates for both groups suggest that financial intermediation through the efficiency of investment leads to a higher rate of growth per capita. The relevant coefficient estimates show a higher level of significance for the developing countries. This financial liberalisation in the form of deregulation and establishment and development of stock markets can be expected to lead to enhanced economic growth.
