Cacao plant is one of the plantation crops which contribute to improving economic for the Province of Central Sulawesi. This study aimed to prepare and test the flour quality of cocoa beans flour after soaking in salt water, NaCl, and lime water, Ca(OH)2, at various concentrations. Samples were cocoa beans taken from Rantekala Sigi Province of Central Sulawesi, furthermore, the cocoa beans were made into flour. Results showed that the moisture, ash, fat, and carbohydrate of cocoa beans flour were almost met the ISO standard, with the exception of the protein level, i.e 5.0% for max. moisture level, 1.6% for max. ash level, 10.0% for min. fat level, and 70% of min. carbohydrates level. But, the best quality was from soaking with lime water at a concentration of 20% with a value of 2.8% moisture level, at a concentration of 15% with a value of 24.6% level, and at a concentration of 10% with a value of 78.26% carbohydrate level. However, for the ash level, the best quality was by soaking in salt water at a concentration of 5% with a value of 4.1%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the cocoa beans flour is better soaked in lime water than salt water.

Cacao is one of important plantation crops grouped in the Sterculiaceae family.  Sulawesi is the main area of cacao production and has a number of superior clones, such as Sulawesi 1 and Sulawesi 2.  Based on data in 2012/2014 cacao production to consumption reached 174,000 tons, while in 2013/2014 was projected a deficit of 115,000 tonnes. Nonetheless, cacao agribusiness in Indonesia is still facing complex problems, among others gardener productivity is still low due to borer attacks cacao, the quality of products and the number is still low and still not optimal development of cacao products and providing superior amount of cacao seedlings. The primary problem of cacao production recently is low productivity.  The main cause of low cacao productivity in Central Sulawesi is the use of inferior clones.  To enhance cacao productivity, it is crucial to use cacao clones having high genetic potential via tissue culture or micropropagation techniques.  The aim of this experiment was to assess the effect of different concentrations of 2,4-D and coconut water on the growth of cacao callus via in vitro culture.  This experiment used Completely Randomozed Block Design in factorial patteren with treatments tested namely 2,4-D and coconut water concentrations.  The concentrations of 2,4-D tested including 1 ppm, 2 ppm and 3 ppm, whilst coconut water concentrations tested consisting of 10%, 15% and 20%, and therefore there were 3 x 3 = 9 treatment combinations.  Each treatment utilized 4 replications; and each unit combination used 5 explants (staminodia).  Results of this experiment indicated that the addition of 3 ppm 2,4-D and 10% coconut water had a highly significant effect on the callus color 4 weeks after culture.  The addition of 3 ppm 2,4-D in culture media showed a significant effect on callus color 4 weeks after culture, but had an insignificant effect on the callus formation, callus color 8 weeks after culture an callus texture.  Supplementation of 20% coconut water had a significant effect on callus texture 8 weeks after culture, whilst the addition of 10% coconut water showed a significant effect on callus color 4 weeks after culture.

The looseness that occurs on the road along Tawaeli-Toboli is a very important issue to be examined because the road is the most important axis road in Central Sulawesi - Indonesia. The goal to be achieved is to know the value of the quality of the rocks and their relation to the size of the slope angle on the road, especially at km 16 to km 26 from Palu City, using the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) method. From the analysis of RMR obtained one slope whose description of rocks is poor, namely on slope 3 with a value of RMR of 28 and a medium description with a value of 51 is on slope 1, for the other six slopes the description of the rock is still a good rock state with values ranging from 63-73. It is concluded that the lowest RMR value requires special attention to be on slope 3. Thus, the friction angle in small rocks, the value of RMR is also small, and the type of soil indicated is bad.

The salt water mixes with fresh water and forms brackish water. The brackish water contains some quantity of salt, but not equal to sea water. Salinity determines the geographic distribution of the number of marshes found in estuary. Hence salinity is a very important environmental factor in estuary system. Sand is one major natural aggregate, required in construction industry mainly for the manufacture of concrete. The availability of good river sand is reduced due to salinity. The quality of sand available from estuarine regions is adversely affected due to this reason. It is the responsibility of engineers to check the quality of sand and its strength parameters before using it for any construction purpose. Presence of salt content in natural aggregates or manufactured aggregates is the cause for corrosion in steel. In this study the amount of salinity present in estuary sand was determined. Three different methods were used to determine the salinity in different seasonal variations. The sand sample collected nearer to the sea was found to be high in salinity in all methods.  It can be concluded that care should be taken before we use estuary sand as a construction material due to the presence of salinity.

Under-fermentation of cocoa beans produces purple beans. The fermentation period is 6 to 7 days but some cocoa farmersunder-ferment their cocoa beans leading to the development of purple cocoa beans. This study determined the impact of insectinfestation on stored purple cocoa beans. Wet cocoa beans were fermented for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days to produce the purple beans.Ephestia cautella and Tribolium castaneum, both singly and in combination, were introduced into the cocoa beans and storedfor different (30, 60, 90 and 120 days) period. Insect population, percentage weight loss and the contaminants produced bythese insects were determined. Cocoa beans infested with E. cautella alone had the highest population of 297.0 ± 22.7. Beansfermented for 3 days had the lowest insect population both singly and in combination after 120 days of storage. The highestpercentage weight loss was recorded in cocoa beans fermented for one day (10.1 ± 1.87%) and 4 days (10.1 ± 8.74%). T.castaneum did not cause much damage to the cocoa beans but E. cautella alone caused significant damage to stored cocoabeans. Insect infestation and poor fermentation contribute significantly to the reduction in quality of cocoa beans.

The purpose of this study is to assess the competitiveness of cocoa in Central Sulawesi and to investigate the role of government in improving the competitiveness of cocoa. The primary data were generated through observation, interviews and some questionnaires. The secondary data were obtained from the agency or the institution related to the research. This study uses the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) and sensitivity analysis. The study found that the PCR value for Parigi Moutong district was 0.589 and Sigi district was 0.396. While, the DRC value for Parigi Moutong district was 0.387 and Sigi district was 0.319. This indicates that cocoa beans farming in Central Sulawesi has competitiveness, but not economically beneficial because Central Sulawesi produces unfermented cocoa beans consequently farmers receive low prices. Based on the results of the government's impact on output analysis, the government did not provide protection for domestic cocoa seed prices through the reference price of cocoa beans, consequently the price of domestic cocoa beans, particularly in the research area, was relatively low compared to the price of cocoa beans at the international market. Seen from the government policy on inputs, the government have provided subsidies to farmers but they need to improve the distribution and management of aid to be evenly distributed. It is necessary to set up good government policy on inputs and outputs in order to increase cocoa seed productivity, decrease production cost and increase the price which simultaneously can improve its competitiveness in the research location.

ABSTRACTIndonesia is the world's largest producer of crude palm oil (CPO). Even so, the trend of international trade in Indonesian CPO products has decreased in the last 10 years with a value of -10.19%. The decline in world demand for CPO can be dealt with by utilizing CPO as a biofuel for domestic use, like biodiesel. The purpose of this study is to determine the competitiveness of Indonesian CPO in global trade and determine the parameters of the quality requirements of CPO and biodiesel. The competitiveness analysis method uses the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method, while the analysis of the potential quality of CPO as a biofuel is carried out by analyzing the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). CPO trade in the global market is controlled by Indonesia with a market share of 50% and Malaysia 25.6%, with the declining trade trend in the last 10 years relatively (2010-2019) of -6.91%. The level of competitiveness of Indonesian CPO products in 2019 is very strong, but on average in the last 10 years, the level of competitiveness of Indonesian CPO is no better than that of Malaysia. Indonesia has SNI 01-2901-2006 and SNI 7182: 2015 as a determinant of the quality of CPO and biodiesel products developed in Indonesia so that the CPO and biodiesel produced fullfil sacurity and safety aspects when used by consumers. Keywords: crude palm oil (CPO), competitivenessv, quality, Indonesian National Standard (SNI) ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan negara produsen minyak kelapa sawit mentah/ Crude Palm Oil (CPO) terbesar di dunia.

BACKGROUND Background: Many women experience urinary incontinence (UI) during andafter pregnancy due to pelvic floor weakness. First-line therapy is conservative treatment, which nowadays can be facilitated by using digitalsolutions. OBJECTIVE The aim ofthe present study was to investigate the efficacy and effectiveness of pelvinain patients with existing UI. METHODS Methods: In the present observational study we analyzed the effectivenessof pelvina, a certified digital pelvic floor training course, in reducing UI symptoms by regularly applying “The Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis” (QUID) and furthermore examining quality of life (QoL) by conducting the SF-6D. RESULTS Results: In this prospective study, 373 patients with a median age of 36 years (IQR 33 - 47 years) were included. At baseline the patients had a median QUID of 11 (IQR 11 - 15). During the course, incontinence improved significantly to a QUID of 5 (IQR 2 – 11; p<0.001). Additionally, the patients had also shown a significant impairment in their QoL at baseline with a value of 19 (IQR 16 - 22) in SF-6D. After completing the course, the QoL had risen to 24 (IQR 20 - 26). CONCLUSIONS Conclusion: Use of the certified digital pelvic floor course pelvinasignificantly reduces existing UI due to pelvic floor weakness over the timespan of the course. At the same time QoL is significantly improved. CLINICALTRIAL The present study was approved by the ethics committee of the Heidelberg University Hospital (S-392/2019)

The determination of apparent lactic acid has been used as a basis for a rejection test for raw milk. The method consists of precipitation of milk proteins with barium chloride, sodium hydroxide and zinc sulphate, and the addition of ferric chloride to the filtrate to produce the yellow colour of ferric lactate. Lactic acid is not solely responsible for the production of the yellow colour, which, nevertheless, gives a good relationship with keeping quality of milk (measured as hours to the C.O.B. end-point at 22° C.) and the values have been expressed as ‘apparent lactic acid’.The relationship of winter and summer milks to keeping quality has been studied, and a value of 0·03% apparent lactic acid in milk is equivalent to an average keeping quality of 5¾ and 8½ hr. for winter and summer milks, respectively. A value of 0·03% is recommended as the earliest value of apparent lactic acid at which milk could be rejected. The apparent lactic acid in colostrum and late-lactation milk and in milk from cows suffering from mastitis has been determined, and only in late-lactation milk were the values found to be significantly higher than usual in fresh raw milk, and an inverse relationship between yield and apparent lactic acid is suggested.Permanent glass matching disks have been prepared for use in a Lovibond comparator. This permits the intensity of the yellow colour produced with 1% ferric chloride to be determined and the apparent lactic acid in milk estimated.Grateful acknowledgement is made to the management and staff of the Dairy Department of the Reading Co-operative Society and the Farmer's Clean Milk Dairy, Reading, and local milk producers for supplying samples for experiments; to the N.M.T.S. staff in Reading for help in finding suitable farmers, and to the Dairy Husbandry Department of the N.I.R.D. for information about and samples of abnormal and late-lactation milk. Our particular thanks are due Miss Marie Gruber for technical assistance, to Dr N. J. Berridge for the suggestion and help on the work on pH change as an indication of keeping quality (given in the appendix), and to Dr A. T. R. Mattick for the advice given in this work.
