This work considers important natural conditions of distribution of agricultural production, cattle breeding in particular, and also potentials for tourism development on Mokra mountain. Half-nomadic cattle breeding in mountain settlements was highly developed in recent past. It represented the main source of existence for local highlanders. Today it is neglected and in phase of dying out. The mountain disposes with excellent natural potentials for ecological and mountain tourism, but these potentials are unused.

In market conditions, one of the key issues of management is the effective use of available natural resources. In agricultural production, these are the problems of using land resources. An urgent task is the rational use of pasture resources according to the seasons of the year for the management of pasture cattle breeding. The article considers the reflection in geographical names of pasture names and terms used in traditional animal husbandry, which provide important information about the features of the landscape. In addition, the regularities of the use of natural conditions by the ethnic group that inhabited this territory, the spatial distribution of pasture terms characteristic ofa particular landscape are determined.

In this article approaches to search for reserves of decrease in cost of agricultural production are considered. The methods of cost calculation of dairy cattle breeding products used at the studied enter-prise are analysed, short characteristic of the standard method offered by the Ministry of Agriculture is given, and calculations of alternative options are also carried out. Today creation of accounting of a production unit is very important so that not only weight units must be considered in it, but also the quali-tative structure of products must be reflected. Definition of qualitative characteristics and technological properties by production of milk which depend on use purposes can be an example. The raw materials consumption on a unit of production and its quality and also firmness of storage depends on technologi-cal properties of milk. At calculation of prime cost taking into account qualitative characteristics for cal-culation milk in terms of basic fat content undertakes. The method of calculation of prime cost consider-ing qualitative characteristics is the most expedient as prime cost of 1 c of milk unlike the operating tech-nique is lower. In the article analytical methods of reserves calculation for decrease in prime cost taking into account various factors are proved. The revealed reserves will allow an enterprise to expand its in-vestment opportunities in the future, they will give an additional incentive of modernization of the worn-out machinery and equipment in branches of agriculture.

It is revealed that on the basis of socio-economic relations a system of moral and cultural values of the farmer's professional activity, which is influenced by national peculiarities of agricultural production, as well as the acquired experience and traditions, is formed. The article considers the market transformations of the domestic economy, which resulted in the manifestation of destabilizing factors in the production and sales activity and the possibilities of expanded reproduction. In the study of the activities of farms conducted an assessment of their behavior in the context of medium, large and small business entities. The corresponding calculations have been carried out, which made it possible to conclude that the value of profitability of small farms is subjectively underestimated as a result of shadowing of their production and economic activity. It is argued that the diversification of the activities of farms creates positive externalities, in particular, the preservation of the features of the rural landscape and the creation of jobs in rural areas, reducing pollution and improving the quality of the soil. The average length of employment in the production process is determined, which is 2-3 months in terms of full employment, which requires substantiation of diversification of production activities. It has been established that the shadowing of the activities of members of farms is mainly related to non-agricultural activities, and is conditioned by the peculiarities of taxation of such farms. It is proved that the application of the grading principle of aggregate income will enable the tax payer to be taken into account when calculating the amount of tax, and therefore more consistent with the principle of social justice. It is substantiated that the formation of a strategy of diversification of domestic agricultural production based on the experience of leading countries requires its implementation taking into account national peculiarities and factors of influence. The following main internal and external factors that influence the process of diversification are distinguished: external – the development of the regional economy and the local labor market, the state of their infrastructure; among the internal factors: the level of education, age structure of the population, social capital in the countryside, the position of commodity producers in the industry, which are supported by state programs. Based on the study of rural tourism development opportunities based on FАRM and expert assessments, 37% of farmers can realize the idea of creating conditions for rural tourism on their own, due to the lack of infrastructure of farms and rural areas. Among the main conditions for the development of rural tourism on the basis of farms are as follows: definition of the potential of rural tourism development at the regional level, ensuring the safety of tourists living, working out the schemes of visiting tourist routes, attracting tourists working in the region, organizing a large-scale advertising campaign. Key words: farm, diversification, rural tourism, folk crafts, non-agricultural activity, taxation.

The article provides data on the reproduction of cows and heifers in three farms of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), specializing in meat cattle breeding: Integrated agricultural production centre "Soloosun" (Megino-Kangalas district), LLC "Konezavod Berte" (Khangalas district) and Integrated agricultural production centre "Krestyah” (Suntar district). The material for research is the reporting data of farms for 2014-2019. The experience of reproduction of the herd of meat direction was summarized, dynamics of insole and calving was studied. By results of calculation of KIVSK according to  N.M. Kramarenko, a high rate of a uterine livestock was in  LLC "Konezavod Berte" (108.9%), a good indicator by the index of fertility in herds of the meat cattle in Integrated agricultural production centre "Krestyah” (51.2) and Integrated agricultural production centre “Soloosun” (51.0). High coefficient of reproducibility of mother stock was in  LLC "Konezavod Berte" (1.09).

. Polymorphisms of genes may be useful as genetic markers for additional selection criteria in dairy cattle breeding for economically advantageous traits. The presented study is dedicated to the influence of gene polymorphism, responsible for milk quality and milk productivity was carried out among Holstein cow-heifers in Integrated Agricultural Production Centre “Stud farm named after Lenin” of Atninsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. DNA samples were isolated from blood samples of 130 cows for genotyping according to gene of growth hormone (GH) by PCR-RFLP analysis method. The genotypes distribution of the somatotropin gene were as follows: LL – 63.8% (83 animals), LV – 30.0% (39 animals), VV – 6.2% (8 animals), the distribution in frequency of occurrence of alleles L - 0.788 and V - 0.212. When considering the gene polymorphism association with the signs of milk production and the qualitative composition of milk showed prominent results cow-heifers with a LL genotype. The identified relationships indicate the possible genetic improvement of the investigated herds using marker-assisted selection.

Monoliths are age-long stone formations that have represented and given clues to the reconstruction and interpretation of the extinct cultures. Their tourism motivation to localities is inestimable. Incidentally, these monumental edifices of human cultural history have faced the challenges of safety and preservation. For example, the Cross River Monoliths have continued to deteriorate and are being destroyed in the recent past due to the activities of man and nature along with other safety issues facing the monoliths, its owners and visitors. Some rescue mechanisms have been employed made in tincluding the assembling of these monoliths to a designated location in an open-air museum. This paper contends that more needs to be done in this regard. The study proposes Mix Method Approach (MMA), which is a conglomeration of interdependent practices, to enhance the safety and preservation of the Cross River monoliths for both posterity and tourism development in the area. The implication of the study is the introduction of further directions in monolith studies and preservations in Africa and beyond.

The authors address the issue of determining the size of less favoured area payments so that such payments, in compliance with the objectives of the measure, will be the compensation for the farmers' additional costs and income forgone due to the handicap of agricultural production in the area concerned. Alternative methods for the calculation of the handicaps caused by the less favoured conditions have been verified. A new methodology of determining the basic LFA payments level is proposed for the following program period. Similarly, a method for calculating the envisaged impacts of changes in the EU Common Agricultural Policy after 2013 on the natural handicap compensation is proposed and verified.

Abstract Precipitation is greatly affected by natural conditions and human activities, and its sequence has the characteristics of periodic variation and non-stationarity. In order to study the periodic characteristics of regional precipitation, reduce the non-stationarity of the water sequence and improve the forecasting accuracy, the Morlet wavelet model and CEEMD − Elman + ARIMA model are introduced, and applied to the precipitation sequence of Zhengzhou. The results show that the annual precipitation in Zhengzhou is mainly affected by periodic fluctuations of 55a, 40a and 15a, and the mean absolute error of the CEEMD − Elman + ARIMA model in 2013–2017 is 14.1%. Based on the analysis of precipitation period and forecast of future precipitation, the characteristics and evolution of precipitation in Zhengzhou are revealed. This provides a theoretical basis for rational utilization of water resources, prevention, industrial and agricultural production in Zhengzhou.
