The intensive development of the Ukrainian language at the turn of the 21st century due to its new status as the official language of independent Ukraine, the essential changes in Ukrainian society and Ukraine?s openness to globalisation have led to the forming of new disciplines in Ukrainian linguistics - neology and neography. They present two interconnected approaches to the analysis and lexicographic description of new language units (innovations) - the differential and the integral approach. The first approach involves the study of innovations in comparison with the existing units of the language, the search of criteria for determining their types by the features of their novelty in the language system and in text. The second approach focuses on the degree of stability of innovations in modern Ukrainian, i.e. the importance of concepts they verbalise in the conceptual and the linguistic worldview of the modern Ukrainians. The functional potential of a certain innovation in the linguistic activity of a society is an indicator of the degree of its stability in the language. It is a set of units consisting of innovation by paradigmatic, syntagmatic and epidigmatic (derivational) relations. The analysis of the word as the basic unit of Ukrainian nomination, prediction and evaluation enable the identification of other types of language innovations. The modern Ukrainian lexicon presents the following types of neologisms: new derivatives, new borrowings, neosemanticisms, neographisms, actualised and returned words. The application of the differential approach is advisable when gathering new language material, whereas the integrated approach is necessary when identifying the stabilised linguistic innovations, as it can be a resource for replenishing the general lexicon of a language. The results of the analysis of this new lexicon are presented in the differential and integral neological dictionaries.

AbstractMitigation and adaptation are the main strategies to address climate change. Both of them are interrelated instruments and key elements of an integral approach to tackle the phenomenon. This interrelation is particularly strong in the land use sector, an area in which practically any policy has a significant effect on the goals of both strategies. Yet, in practice, mitigation and adaptation are treated as two different instruments. A poor understanding about the interactions between the mentioned strategies remains as a barrier to implement the integrated approach. To contribute to fill-in this knowledge gap, a hypothetical ecologic-economic system simulated under deep uncertainty was used to test environmental and welfare implications of different policy configurations. Taking the unregulated economy as a benchmark, the outcomes of the mentioned interventions were classified as synergies or different forms of trade-offs. Results indicate that measures based on internalization of externalities overcame monetary compensation schemes. Moreover, when externalities were corrected, synergies were more frequent and associated to higher environmental and welfare gains. Furthermore, the policy configuration that exhibited best synergic properties was an intervention integrating mitigation and adaptation measures. This indicates that synergies may be more accessible than previously considered, however, current policy approach and incentives may not be the best tools to trigger them.

The purpose of the article is to systematize theoretical and methodological principles and justify the application of an integrated approach to assess the investment attractiveness of enterprises. Among the approaches we can highlight the following ones: cost, spatial, income, factor, matrix, integral, analytical, approach, which is based on determination of the current and future status of investment attractiveness of enterprises, comparative, approach, which is based on the system of qualitative and quantitative indicators that is applied to assess the investment attractiveness of enterprises, approach, which is based on the application of the correlation and regression analysis method, an investment-based approach. In order to determine the investment attractiveness, it is proposed to use an integral approach based on appropriate methods and models that allows us to estimate the integral indicator for the formation of the estimated basis for increasing the investment attractiveness of the subjects of management. The methodological approach to the integrated assessment of the investment attractiveness of enterprises is proposed. It is based on the definition of the integral indicator and the application of analytical, expert and hierarchy analysis methods by modelling the investment attractiveness indicators. This approach enables to form informational and analytical support for the development of the enterprise management strategy. It has been determined the information and analytical support for estimating the investment attractiveness of enterprises on the basis of accounting and financial reporting, data on the application of technologies and means of production, level of preparation and use of workers, features of the material and technical base, directions of interaction between different groups of interested persons, information regarding the application of scientific and technical development, which ensures the security of the corporate information system, the quality and completeness of information.

Despite all efforts, the treatment of breast cancer (BC) cannot be considered to be a success story. The advances in surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy have not been sufficient. Indeed, the accumulated experience clearly indicates that new perspectives and non-main stream approaches are needed to better characterize the etiopathogenesis and treatment of this disease. This contibution deals with how the new pH-centric anticancer paradigm plays a fundamental role in reaching a more integral understanding of the etiology, etiopathogenesis and treatment of this multifactorial disease. For the first time the armamentarium available for the treatment of the different types and phases of BC is approached here from a Unitarian perspective based upon the hydrogen ion dynamics of cancer. The wide-ranged pH-related molecular, biochemical and metabolic model is able to embrace most the fields and subfields of breast cancer pathology. This single and integrated approach allows to advance a unidirectional program to treatment. Further efforts in this line are likely to first improve the therapeutics of each subtype of this tumor, then every phase of the disease and finally every individual patient.

The article considers the issue of psychological and pedagogical support applying practical, competent, complex, integrated approaches. The essence of meaningful conceptual definition of «psychological and pedagogical child support» has been outlined based on analysis: reforming education focusing on the practical approach to the organization of the educational process; the devotion to the educational result – the acquisition of life competence – through the prism of the competent approach; the quality maintenance to the educational activities in modern «New Ukrainian School», the introduction of inclusive education, the continuation of military conflict and others, which influence educational institutions by means of integrated approach; updating the content of education according the integration of educational sectors and personal experience within the integrated approach. The submitted problems on the child personality development in the modern educational environment and the psychological and pedagogical support require a single, holistic view of their solving for the development of the integral competence, which means forming such a qualification level that expresses the main competence characteristics, contributes to a harmonious full life in society and successful self-realization. Theoretical substantiation of the integral approach to psychological and pedagogical support of the child's personality in the educational environment has been carried out under the conditions of educational reformation. The peculiarities of the psychological and pedagogical supervision have been represented considering the integral approach, which includes both the unity and the integrity in relation with interaction, approaches and performing technologies.

Over the past 3-4 decades, some progress has been made in the countries of North and North-East Africa, and - broader - in the Middle East, in development/transformation of agriculture and its branches related to food production. As a result, the key indicators of food production and consumption per capita have increased significantly. Moreover, the consumption growth performance was higher than the production growth performance, and that was driven by an increase in food imports. At the same time, the food insecurity remains acute in several ways. This applies to the manifestations of mass hunger in the Sahel as well as to the increased pressure on the budget due to both the significant increase in world food prices and the import volume. These and other specifics of the current state of the food insecurity in the countries of North Africa and other regions of the world, require a new vision of providing the population with food and shaping an integral approach to resolve the problem. Experts are linking this vision with the promotion of the so-called UN Initiative announced by the Secretary-General A.Guterres in the fall of 2020 and aimed at an integrated approach to resolution of the food insecurity: the development of "national food security and nutrition systems" in the countries of the world, which would include the development of mechanisms and tools necessary for a better and a comprehensive food supply to the world's population, and take into account both local and national conditions, as well as medical nutrition standards.

Abstract. Advances in the understanding and prediction of tsunami impacts allow for the development of risk reduction strategies for tsunami-prone areas. This paper presents a tsunami vulnerability and risk assessment for the case study of El Salvador, the applied methodology dealing with the complexity and variability of coastal zones by means of (i) an integral approach to cover the entire risk-related process from the hazard, vulnerability and risk assessments to the final risk management; (ii) an integrated approach to combine and aggregate the information stemming from the different dimensions of coupled human and natural systems; and (iii) a dynamic and scale-dependent approach to integrate the spatiotemporal variability considerations. This work also aims at establishing a clear connection to translate the vulnerability and risk assessment results into adequate target-oriented risk reduction measures, trying to bridge the gap between science and management for the tsunami hazard. The approach is applicable to other types of hazards, having been successfully applied to climate-change-related flooding hazard.

Modern researchers working in applied animal science systems have faced issues with modelling huge quantities of data. Modelling approaches that have previously been used to model biological systems are having problems to adapt to increased number of publications and research. So as to develop new approaches that have the potential to deal with these fast-changing complex conditions, it is relevant to review modern modelling approaches that have been used successfully in other fields. Therefore, this paper reviews the potential capacity of new integrated applied animal-science approaches to discriminate parameters, interpret data and understand biological processes. The analysis shows that the principal challenge is handling ill-conditioned complex models, but an integrated approach can obtain meaningful information from complementary data that cannot be obtained from present applied animal-science approaches. Furthermore, it is shown that parameter sloppiness and data complementarity are key concepts during system behaviour restrictions and parameter discrimination. Additionally, model evaluation and implementation of the potential integrated approach are reviewed. Finally, the objective of an integral approach is discussed. Our conclusion is that these approaches have the potential to be used to deepen the understanding of applied animal systems, and that exist enough developed resources and methodologies to deal with the huge quantities of data associated with this science.

At present, the environmental risk assessment of major accidents is mainly carried out for stationary risk sources. Only marginal attention is paid to mobile risk sources, while the currently available methodologies require a relevant expertise and time for their application, which is only partially possible in most scenarios. In the present study, an integrated approach to environmental risk assessment in the transport of hazardous substances (iTRANSRISK) was developed. The approach proposed is based on the principle of index-based assessment of leakage scenarios involving toxic and flammable substances during transport, in the context of indexing environmental vulnerability. The key point of the method is the conversion of local-specific data concerning the risk potential of the transported substance, the consequences and the probability of a major accident, and environmental vulnerability assessment into a single entity. The created integral approach is proposed for the needs of carriers of the hazardous substances and the state administration bodies. The proposed approach is determined for the screening risk assessment at the beginning of the process of the planning a suitable transport routes and the results are for information only. An example of the application of the iTRANSRISK integrated approach is demonstrated considering an explosion scenario following a propane tanker leak (18 t) in a forested area, with moderately susceptible soils and no surface water or groundwater affected.

Labisia pumila is a precious herb in Southeast Asia that is traditionally used as a health supplement and has been extensively commercialized due to its claimed therapeutic properties in boosting a healthy female reproductive system. Indigenous people used these plants by boiling the leaves; however, in recent years it has been marketed as powdered or capsuled products. Accordingly, accuracy in determination of the authenticity of these modern herbal products has faced great challenges. Lack of authenticity is a public health risk because incorrectly used herbal species can cause adverse effects. Hence, any measures that may aid product authentication would be beneficial. Given the widespread use of Labisia herbal products, the current study focuses on authenticity testing via an integral approach of DNA barcoding and qualitative analysis using HPLC. This study successfully generated DNA reference barcodes (ITS2 and rbcL) for L.pumila var. alata and pumila. The DNA barcode that was generated was then used to identify species of Labisia pumila in herbal medicinal products, while HPLC was utilized to determine their quality. The findings through the synergistic approach (DNA barcode and HPLC) implemented in this study indicate the importance of both methods in providing the strong evidence required for the identification of true species and to examine the authenticity of such herbal medicinal products.
