During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools did not open face-to-face learning services. The Ministry of Education and Culture has issued a policy learning from Home (BDR) to support the principles of the Education Policy in the COVID-19 Pandemic that the health and safety of students, educators, education personnel, families, and the community is the top priority. However, learning in Vocational School (SMK) is mostly based on practice so that BDR activities cannot be implemented. One thing that is done to overcome this is that some practicum activities can be executed using multimedia known as virtual laboratories. The aim of this study is to conduct a need analysis for the development of a virtual laboratory. Needs analysis is carried out to gather data about gaps and needs as well profiles of students that can be used as a basis or reference in developing virtual laboratory at the next stage. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The results showed that a virtual laboratory was needed to support practical learning for vocational students.

The situation and conditions with the COVID-19 pandemic have made students to Learn From Home (BDR). This situation has been going on for more than 1 year since March 2020, the government, in this case, the Ministry of Education and Culture has given directions to open Face-to-face Learning (PTM) in the even semester of 2020. From the studies conducted, many schools (>80%) in Indonesia are ready for PTM. The directives from the government have been stated in the Joint Decree (SKB 4 ministers dated June 15, 2020 and revised on August 7, 2020 and March 30, 2021. The school authorities must improve the schools to prepare for the opening of this PTM after a long BDR, especially SMAN 96 West Jakarta which is a partner in this Community Service. Preparation must be made in accordance with the government's directive in the SKB. How are students preparing to do PTM? What should be done? To help the schools keep the PTM running well and safely, it is necessary to make education about healthy living behaviors for students in the school environment. This education includes :1. Education on preparation for school (while still at home),2. Education when students arrive in the school area, 3. Education during learning activities,4. Education on leaving the classroom when the lesson is finished, 5.Education when arriving at home after school and start doing activities at home. The results of this community service are in the form of pocket books and behavioral education presentation materials on how to live a healthy life in the school environment for students.

AbstractDuring the pandemic, the government issued the policy to learning from home, followed by the other policy to open face-to-face learning in the New Normal era. This study aims to determine the implementation of learning from home policy and the readiness of madrasas to conduct face-to-face learning in the New Normal era. This research was conducted using an online survey method in 2021. The results showed that 85% of madrasas carried out the learning process online, of which 86.8% were carried out through the assignment method from the teacher. In the learning process at home, only 28.7% of students were accompanied, reminded, supervised, and assisted by their parents. It means that the role of parents in learning from home is minimal. However, 86.5% provide internet access. Regarding the readiness of madrasas in face-to-face learning, 62.24% were not ready to carry out face-to-face learning. This unreadiness relates to the difficulties in fulfillment of aspects that are required for face-to-face learning.

The growing availability of mobile devices across developing countries and coupled with increase awareness of mobile learning as well as the use of mobile devices for laboratory practical warrant the exploration of its wider application in learning. This study explored the factors that contribute to the successful implementation of mobile virtual laboratory in a developing country. A Nigerian higher institution was selected because of its peculiar location in a rural area and was important in the evaluation of the Internet penetration in rural areas of Nigeria for m-Learning. A designed questionnaire for need analysis was distributed to 132 consented participants and the resulting data were analysed using SPSS-21. The study shows that the term mobile learning was not too new to majority of the learners as (44.7%) indicated that they had heard about it. However majority of the respondents (78.8%) had never heard about Mobile Virtual Laboratories. MTN data plan was mostly used for Internet because of its N1000 (5 US dollars) data plan. Again, majority of the respondents used Blackberry (57%) and Android phones (32%). Based on the findings in this study, the network, data plan, device type and learners awareness were important factors characterising the needs and choices of learners. Overall, uptake of mobile learning will be easy and enhanced if determinants of learners needs and choice as identified in this study are considered in the implementation of mobile virtual laboratory in a developing country.

Recently, the Ministry of Education and Culture has established a policy for implementing face-to-face schools. Regarding this policy, students’ parents become a key point in order to make decisions to allow children to attend face-to-face schooling. Before decision making, parents must first reduce uncertainties and lack of information related to the policy. This study discusses the information-seeking behavior of parents related to face-to-face school policies and the decision-making. The method used is descriptive survey. Data collected through online surveys and interviews. The results showed that parents did the active and passive behavior on information seeking. The school (teachers, homeroom teachers, principals, etc.) is the most frequently referred source of information by parents and is considered the most trusted source of information. The most important information needed by parents is regarding the readiness of the school in the implementation of face-to-face learning during the pandemic. In decision-making process, parents often use information sources through online media and discussions with other parents. The majority of parents will delay decision making if the information obtained is deemed insufficient, while on the other hand parents can also experience decision-making failure due to information overload.

This research is a descriptive study that describes the learning of chemistry during the Covid-19 pandemic. The respondents in this study were 127 high school students from the West Java and Banten provinces. A Google Form questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results showed that the most widely used online class applications were WhatsApp Group feature, Google Classroom, and Zoom. Students also used printed textbooks, e-books, and student worksheets as learning media. Students did laboratory practice at home using easily found tools and materials. However, a small portion of the respondents ( 11 %) used materials purchased from a chemical store, and another small portion of the respondents ( 14 %) used virtual laboratories. They reported the results of their practice by making a laboratory practice report as well as through video activities and Microsoft PowerPoint for presentation. Students learn from home with varying durations. Most students experienced obstacles during the learning process so that they prefer learning face-to-face in class as usual. Therefore, the teacher must prepare a variety of strategies for distance learning so that the students can learn chemistry from home with fun. Some strategies that can be applied are providing audio-visual learning media or computer/android-based games for chemistry, using the online class application that accommodates interactions similar to face-to-face learning, providing laboratory practice using tools and materials that can be easily found around the house, providing virtual lab application, and providing more opportunities for students to ask questions about chemistry topics that they do not understand.

One of the effects of the 2019-20 Coronavirus pandemic is relied on education throughout the world. Education in Indonesia is also affected by the COVID-19 virus. All levels of education from elementary schools to tertiary institutions (universities) both under the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and those under the Indonesian Ministry of Religion are "forced" to learn from home because of face-to-face learning removed to prevent COVID-19 transmission. Under these conditions, the education system can adopt Seamless Learning. Seamless Learning allows students to determine when and where they will learn. This research is a literature study reviewing studies which show that Seamless can now be done to replace traditional systems during pandemic. Seamless Learning can be an option for learning methods that can be applied during the COVID-19 quarantine period. Seamless Learning allows students to learn more independently and does not sacrifice students with certain hours and duration as long as the material is affordable and accessible to students. Students can easily access material and are not limited by certain devices making it easier for students who do not have a computer or laptop.
