The purpose of this research to analize the effect of coastal cards on adherencetoiron tablet consumption, hemoglobin level, weight of a baby, among anemia in pregnancy. This research used quasi experimentalwith design pre and post-test design, which was performed on pregnant women with mild and moderate iron deficiency anemia in the Mataram Health Center. The research subjects consisted of 30 of third trimester of pregnant women who had mild and moderate anemia. Data analysis with Anova one way. The results showed: The level of adherence of 30 study subjects were mostly adherent to taking Iron tablet 29 people (96.7%) and only 1 person who was not compliant (3.3%). Hb levels in pregnant women at the first day of iron tablet an average of 9.90 gr%, after 2 weeks given an average iron tablet of 10.87 gr%, and before giving birth after being given iron tablet on average 11.84 gr%. Hb levels after childbirth is given an average iron tablet of 11.38 gr%. The weight of babies born is between 2768 grams to 3407 grams and the average baby's weight is 3087.5 grams. experienced Postpartum bleeding, namely 29 people (96.7%) and only 1 person (3.3%) who experienced postpartum bleeding.

  ABSTRACT Anemia in pregnancy is a condition in pregnant women with hemoglobin levels less than 11gr% during pregnancy. An increased of anemia often occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy. Pregnant women needs to be supported with nutritional patterns which contain some necessary intermediate in the synthesis of hemoglobin, which  is seaweed. Seaweed type Euchoma sp contains iron, a mixture of which is needed in the synthesis of hemoglobin, has a high bioavailability of substances and is able to stabilize the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, and hemoglobin. The purpose of the study was to determine the status of anemia before and after the study. The study design is the pre-post test design. The population of the study was 30 third trimester pregnant women in the Tanjung Pinang City Primary Health Care Work Area. Respondents were given seaweed as much as 200 gram for 7 days and the 8th day repeated hemoglobin levels were measured. After being given an intervention, there was an increase in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women by 1.2gr% and there were no more respondents suffering anemia.   Keywords : consumption of seaweed, anemia in pregnancy

Abstract: Hemoglobin (Hb) is a parameter used to determine anemia prevalence. The average level of normal Hb at the end of pregnancy is around 12.5 g/dL, meanwhile, aproximately 5% of pregnant women have Hb level less than 11.0 g/dL. To date, Hb level below 11.0 g/dL especially at the end of pregnancy should be considered as an abnormal phenomenon and is usually caused by iron deficiency and not by hypervolemia which is commonly found in pregnancy. This study was aimed to determine the hemoglobin level of third semester pregnant women in Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital Manado. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. Subjects were 39 third semester pregnant women who visited the Obstetric Department of Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The results showed that 25 subjects (64.1%) had low hemoglobin levels and 14 subjects (35.9%) had normal level of hemoglobin. In conclusion, most third semester pregnant women had low hemoglobin levels.Keywords: hemoglobin rate, third trimester pregnant women, anemia Abstrak: Hemoglobin (Hb) darah merupakan parameter yang digunakan untuk menetapkan prevalensi anemia. Nilai normal Hb pada akhir kehamilan rata-rata 12,5 g/dL, dan sekitar 5% wanita hamil konsentrasinya kurang dari 11,0 g/dL. Nilai Hb dibawah 11,0 g/dL terutama pada akhir kehamilan perlu dianggap abnormal dan biasanya disebabkan oleh defisiensi besi dan bukan karena hipervolemia yang umumnya ditemukan pada kehamilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil trimester III di Rumah Sakit Robert Wolter Mongisidi Manado. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif dengan menggunakan desain potong lintang. Subyek penelitian ialah 39 ibu hamil trimester III yang berkunjung di Poliklinik Kebidanan di Rumah Sakit Robert Wolter Mongisidi Manado yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 25 subyek (64,1%) memiliki kadar hemoglobin rendah dan 14 subyek (35,9%) memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah sebagian besar ibu hamil trimester III memiliki kadar hemoglobin rendah.Kata kunci: kadar hemoglobin, ibu hamil trimester III, anemia

Aim. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between iron deficiency anemia and small for gestational age (SGA) in early third trimester pregnancies. Methods. A total of 4800 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria were analyzed retrospectively. We included pregnant women who had iron deficiency anemia between 26+0 and 30+0 weeks of gestation and delivered singletons between 37+0 and 41+6 weeks of gestation. Patients were divided into four groups according to anemia level: (1) hemoglobin (Hb) < 7 mg/dl (n = 80), (2) Hb 7–9.9 mg/dl (n = 320), (3) Hb 10–10.9 mg/dl (n = 1300), and (4) Hb > 11 mg/dl (n = 3100, control group). The primary outcome of this study was the presence of SGA. Results. The demographic and obstetric characteristics were similar among all the groups. Maternal age, BMI <30 kg/m2, nulliparity rates, and previous cesarean delivery rates were similar among groups. Ethnicity was significantly different in the severe and moderate anemia groups (<0.001). Mean fetal weight was 2900 ± 80 g in the severe anemia group, 3050 ± 100 g in the moderate anemia group, 3350 ± 310 g in the mild anemia group, and 3400 ± 310 g in the control group. Fetal weight was significantly lower in the severe and moderate anemia groups compared to the mild anemia and control groups (<0.001). The SGA rate was 18.7% in the severe anemia group, 12.1% in the moderate anemia group, 5.3% in the mild anemia group, and 4.9% in the control group. SGA was significantly higher in the severe and moderate anemia groups compared to the mild anemia and control groups (<0.001). Conclusion. The results of this study indicated that early third trimester severe and moderate iron deficiency anemia was associated with SGA. Iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women may lead to low birth weight.

Objectives: To assess the correlation of different obstetrical factors with the hemoglobin level in multiparous pregnant females in Taif KSA. Anemia in pregnancy is a multifactorial phenomenon, among which obstetrical factors like parity, previous H/O abortions, inter pregnancy interval, mode of delivery etc are frequently associated. Study Design: Observational study. Setting: Outpatient department in King Faisal Hospital (KFH), Taif, Saudi Arabia. Period: 1st June 2018 and 31st August 2018. Material & Methods: Conducted in 200 pregnant women by random sampling technique. Hemoglobin value and all patient’s data was noted. All data was fed to SPSS version 23.0 and statistically analyzed using chi square test for qualitative and student’s t test for quantitative data. Results: The study was conducted in 200 patients that showed that there was no statistically significant association of increasing parity, inter pregnancy interval, mode of delivery (NVD or Cesarean section) & history of anemia and PPH in preceding pregnancy with the Hemoglobin level. While history of previous abortion is associated and a risk factor for anemia in pregnancy, 50% with history of 01 previous abortion had anemia while 100% of the cases with history of 02 previous abortions had moderate anemia. (Table-II). This association was observed statistically significant with p value of 0.001. Conclusion: This study concluded that anemia is a predictable as well as preventable entity. Obstetrical factors may be the contributory factors of anemia in pregnancy. Health education awareness programs, regular antenatal visits and iron supplements can be helpful to improve heath of pregnant women.

Objective: To demonstrate the value of iron sucrose complex in the treatment of anemia in  pregnancy.Methods: It is a prospective clinical study, of 35 consecutive pregnant women suffering from  anemia in pregnancy. The study was conducted over a period of twelve months. Hemoglobin  concentration was measured three times during pregnancy. All women consumed timed release iron from 17 weeks onward up to birth of the baby. If hemoglobin level is (8.5 - 9) gm/dl, parentral Iron sucrose complex 2 doses (400gm of iron) were given intravenously and hemoglobin  level was checked after 15 days.Results: There were 35 women who completed the treatment and data was available for  analysis. Their mean age was 27.5(range21-35) years. Fifty six percent were 2nd gravid. Twenty eight (28%) percent women in 1st half of pregnancy, 53% in 2nd trimester and 16% in 3rd trimester suffering from moderate anemia and treated with iron sucrose complex (ISC). The average Hemoglobin concentration before treatment was 8.47gm/dl and after treatment  was 9.67gm/dl. There was a statistically significant improvement in hemoglobin concentration. Three women developed side effects and did not get 2nd dose.Conclusion: Intravenous iron therapy is safe, convenient and effective in treatment of iron  deficiency anemia during pregnancy. The intravenous iron therapy can replace blood transfusion in antenatal period in many patients. Background: Anemia in pregnancy is a major health problem worldwide, especially in developing countries like India. Maternal and fetal outcomes are poor in pregnant patients with anemia. The most important cause of anemia is iron deficiency anemia which can be prevented by early oral iron supplementation.Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynecology of our tertiary care teaching institution for a period of one year. 1290 pregnant women coming to the antenatal OPD were screened for anemia and 490 women. Patients who were not anemic were excluded. 800 patients were enrolled in the study. Each patient was interviewed using a structured interview schedule and the data obtained was analyzed.Results: The percentage of anemia in pregnant women was 62% in our study of which 40% were mildly anemic, 55% were moderately anemic and 5% were severely anemic. Maximum number of anemic women -mild, moderate and severe was seen in the age group 20-24 years. Mild and severe anemia was seen more in the secondary educated women. Maximum percentage of anemia was seen in the lower socio-economic status followed by middle and was lowest in the higher socio-economic status group. Prevalence of anemia was almost equal in primigravida and multigravidas (around 50%) but 80% of severely anemic patients were multigravida. Almost 68% took iron and folic acid tablets regularly.Conclusions: Treating anemia in pregnant women will go a long way in improving maternal and fetal outcome. Hence a future healthy younger generation can be produced. Iron tablets can be distributed at school to young girls to prevent anemia in future women.

AbstractAnemia is a condition where the level of hemoglobin in the blood is less than the normal limit (<12 g%) caused by a lack of iron in the body due to malnutrition. While anemia in pregnancy is a condition where the hemoglobin level in pregnant women is <11gr% or <10.5gr% in third trimester pregnant women which generally occurs due to the hemodilution process. The purpose of this case to find out the cause of anemia in late pregnancy and the treatment that can be done to prevent complications that occur with care to routinely consume blood-added tablets (Fe) and recommend foods high in iron. This care design used a comprehensive care method for pregnant women in the third trimester who experience mild anemia (haemoglobin <10,5gr%) in Kalimade Village, Kesesi District, Pekalongan Regency. The results of this care showed an increase in hemoglobin levels in the mother. The conclusion of this case study shows that regularly consuming Fe tablets can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood so that it can prevent and treat anemia. For this reason, pregnant women are expected to routinely consume Fe tablets during pregnancy and midwives are expected to provide education about the benefits of Fe tablets to pregnant women to prevent anemia.Keywords: Haemoglobin; Anemia; Pregnancy AbstrakAnemia merupakan suatu kondisi dimana kadar haemoglobin dalam darah kurang dari batas normal (<12 gr%) yang disebabkan karena kurangnya zat besi didalam tubuh akibat kurang gizi. Tujuan dari kasus ini yaitu untuk mengetahui penyebab terjadinya anemia pada kehamilan lanjut serta penanganan yang dapat dilakukan guna mencegah terjadinya komplikasi yang mungki terjadi dengan asuhan untuk rutin mengkonsumsi tablet tambah darah (Fe) serta anjuran mengkonsumsi makanan tinggi zat besi. Rancangan Asuhan ini menggunakan metode asuhan komprehensif pada ibu hamil trimester III yang mengalami anemia ringan (Haemoglobin <10,5gr%) di Desa Kalimade Kecamatan Kesesi Kabupaten Pekalongan. Hasil asuhan ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan kadar haemoglobin pada ibu. Simpulan studi kasus ini menunjukan bahwa dengan rutin mengkonsumsi tablet Fe dapat meningkatkan kadar Haemoglobin dalam darah sehingga dapat mencegah serta mengobati anemia. Untuk itu ibu hamil diharapkan agar rutin mengkonsumsi tablet Fe selama kehamilan. Bidan diharapkan agar bisa memberikan edukasi tentang manfaat tablet Fe pada ibu hamil guna mencegah terjadinya anemia.Kata kunci: Haemoglobin; Anemia; Kehamilan

Background: Anemia in pregnancy is one of the most common nutritional deficiency disorders affecting the pregnant women in the developing countries. The aim of our study was to understand the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women, and factors associated with anemia.Methods: It was a retrospective record based study conducted in pregnant women, attending antenatal clinic and emergency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Integral Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Luck now, Uttar Pradesh, India. Data from 422 pregnant women regarding pregnancy were collected from 1st January 2018 to 30th June 2018 by referring the records.Results: Present study included 422 pregnant females in first, second and third trimester. In the present study, majority of the pregnant women belonged to the age group of 20-25 years (49.5%) followed by age group of 26-30 years (35.5%). The prevalence rate of anemia was found to be 57.6%, with moderate anemia being the most common (44.8%). Higher proportion of anemia was found in third trimester (75.3%) followed by second trimester (16.5%).Conclusions: High prevalence (57.6%) of anemia was observed in pregnant women. We are far away from achieving our target of Anemia Mukht Bharat by 2022. There is need to create awareness among females regarding ANC visits, birth spacing and iron and folic acid supplementation during pregnancy.

Introduction: The burden of anemia in pregnancy is of global health importance. Tanzania is no exception. Its effects vary from one region to another due to the differing causes. Overall, it is a significant cause of maternal mortality. This study sought to assess the prevalence and factors associated with anemia among pregnant women attending the antenatal clinic (ANC) in the Mkuranga district of the Pwani region of Tanzania.Methodology: This cross sectional study was conducted among 418 pregnant women aged 15–49 years attending the Mkuranga District Hospital and Kilimahewa Health Center. The outcome variable of interest was anemia in pregnancy defined as a hemoglobin concentration of 11 g/dl or less. Data was collected using face-to-face interviews with a standardized pretested questionnaire, and through blood samples collected for hemoglobin testing. Descriptive analysis was used to determine the prevalence of anemia while multiple logistic regression was used to determine factors associated with anemia in pregnancy.Results: Anemia was prevalent among 83.5% of pregnant women attending the two major ANCs in Mkuranga district. Categorically, the hemoglobin of 16.3% of the included women was normal, 51.9% had moderate anemia, 24.4% had mild anemia, and 7.2% had severe anemia. Factors associated with anemia included being in the third trimester (AOR = 2.87, p = 0.026), not consuming vegetables (AOR = 2.62, p = 0.008), meat (AOR = 2.71, p = 0.003), eggs (AOR = 2.98, p = 0.002), and fish (AOR = 2.38, p = 0.005). The finding of unadjusted analysis revealed that women with inadequate minimum dietary diversity were having significantly greater odds of being anemic as compared with those with adequate dietary diversity (OR = 1.94, P = 0.016).Conclusion: More than 80% of pregnant women attending ANC in Mkuranga districts were anemic. Such unprecedented burden of anemia is associated with several factors, which include poor dietary practices such as not consuming iron-rich foods, for example vegetables, meat, eggs, and fish. Women in their third trimester were also more likely to suffer from anemia. This unprecedented burden of anemia in pregnancy can be addressed if efforts to improve feeding practices and early monitoring at the ANCs are sustained.

Physical changes and psychology in pregnancy is one stressor in pregnancy. Preliminary studies showed that 98% of pregnant women experience anxiety third trimester. As a result of the pregnancy is maternal anxiety will experience periods of abnormal labor so as to improve maternal and infant mortality. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of perineal massage in primiparous mothers anxiety in the third trimester to the third trimester pregnant women in the BPS. Istiqomah, S.Keb.Bid. Methods: This research is pre-experimental design with a population statistical comparison group of pregnant women in the third trimester of BPS. Istiqomah. S.Keb.Bid premises sample of 20 pregnant women were divided into 10 groups of 10 samples of treated and control groups. Sampling nonprobality sample with quota sampling technique. The instrument of this study using a questionnaire anxiety. Results: Of the 10 treatment group gained 9 (90%) of the study subjects experienced a lower level of anxiety while the control group of 10 4 (40%) of research subjects experienced lower levels of anxiety and test results Mann - Whitney was obtained p = 0.005 (p < 0.05), which means there is perineal massage effect on the level of anxiety in the third trimester pregnant women. Conclusion: There is the effect of perineal massage on the level of anxiety in the third trimester pregnant women with p = 0.005
