Abstract: Hemoglobin (Hb) is a parameter used to determine anemia prevalence. The average level of normal Hb at the end of pregnancy is around 12.5 g/dL, meanwhile, aproximately 5% of pregnant women have Hb level less than 11.0 g/dL. To date, Hb level below 11.0 g/dL especially at the end of pregnancy should be considered as an abnormal phenomenon and is usually caused by iron deficiency and not by hypervolemia which is commonly found in pregnancy. This study was aimed to determine the hemoglobin level of third semester pregnant women in Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital Manado. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. Subjects were 39 third semester pregnant women who visited the Obstetric Department of Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The results showed that 25 subjects (64.1%) had low hemoglobin levels and 14 subjects (35.9%) had normal level of hemoglobin. In conclusion, most third semester pregnant women had low hemoglobin levels.

Preeclampsia and eclampsia is a pregnancy complication caused directly by pregnancy itself. Successful handling of preeclampsia is determined by the compliance of pregnant women in antenatal care. Pregnant women who do not checkups cause no detection of high risk factors experienced during pregnancy. This is because women do not obey the doctor's orders to carry out checks ANC, diet and adequate rest. This study aims to identify and analyze the effect of maternal adherence (Antenatal Care, diet and rest) to the successful treatment of preeclampsia in Batam Elisabeth Hospital in 2014. The method used is explanatory survey with cross sectional design. The study population is the entire third trimester pregnant women. The research sample that is the entire third trimester pregnant women who checkups at Saint Elisabeth Hospital Batam as many as 47 people. Data were analyzed by multiple logistic regression. The results showed that there was influence compliance in the rest of the successful handling of preeclampsia (p = 0.002), whereas compliance in Antenatal care (p = 0.076) and compliance in the diet (p = 0.631) did not affect the success of treatment of preeclampsia. It is advisable for pregnant women to reduce the routine activities and undertake light activity in an effort to prevent preeclampsia, and it is expected that health professionals, in order to provide counseling for pregnant women who perform health checks, on the benefits of antenatal care, follow the diet and rest in improving maternal health during pregnancy.

Entering the second trimester of pregnancy, more iron is required due to the increase in erythrocyte mass, plasma volume andthe development of fetus as well as chorion. Iron is needed the most in the third trimester. The existing hematological iron stageparameters can only detect iron deficiency in the latest stage. The aim of this study was to know the assessment validity of Ret-Heexamination as a new parameter to diagnose iron deficiency in pregnant women with anemia, as well as a screening tool for those interm pregnancy without anemia. The research design was cross sectional. The subjects were women in term pregnancy, gathered fromPKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Bantul Yogyakarta from May to November 2013. A seven (7) mL blood sample was taken from thecubital vein of the subjects. Two mL of the sample was tested for routine hematological examination using an EDTA tube, while theRet-He was assessed using an automatic hematological instrument Sysmex XT-2000-i (Symex Corporation, Kobe, Japan). The serumof the remaining five (5) mL was used to check the serum iron and TIBC to obtain the saturation value (Tsat) using Cobas analyzerC501 (Roche Diagnostics, Germany), while the serum ferritin (SF) was examined using Minividas. The subjects were classified into two(2) groups based on the Hb levels, namely: anemia (Hb<11 g/dL) and those who did not (Hb≥11 g/dL). Furthermore, they were alsoclassified into two (2) groups based on transferrin saturation values: iron deficient (Tsat <9%) and normal (Tsat ≥9%). From 291subjects, 59 (20.3%) were found to have anemia and 232 (79.7%) did not. The cut off value of Ret-He to diagnose iron deficiency inpregnant women with anemia was 29.8 pg (82% sensitivity and 72% specificity). Meanwhile, the cut-off value of Ret-He for irondeficiency screening in pregnant women without anemia was 29.8 pg, with a sensitivity and specificity of 92% and 87% respectively. The Ret-He holds a good diagnostic validity to detect iron deficiency in pregnancy, with or without anemia.

Determinants of pregnancy hypertensive disorders in Indonesia PurposeThis study aimed to assess the determinant factors of gestational hypertension (HDP) in Indonesia.MethodsThis research was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. Sampling was calculated using consecutive sampling technique. The subjects were all pregnant women aged 15-54 years old in 33 provinces in Indonesia and 9024 women were selected as subjects. Chi-square and binomial regression tests were used to analyze the determinants of HDP to see the value of the Ratio Prevalence (RP). ResultsThe prevalence of hypertension among pregnant women was 6.18% (558 people) after being adjusted with external variables which were potentially confounders. The highest of hypertension was found in West Java with 59 pregnant women (10.57%). Overweight and chronic hypertension were related to hypertensive disorders in pregnancy with RP: 2.13 (95% CI: 1.80-2.51); and in overweight with RP: 4.36 (95% CI: 3.6-5.26) in hypertension assessments. The use of contraceptives was not a risk factor for hypertensive disorders in Indonesia with RP 0.92 (95% CI: 0.76-1.10). ConclusionOverweight and chronic hypertension are risk factors for the incidence of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy in Indonesia.

Background: 107,000 pregnant women in Indonesia experiencing anxiety while facing childbirth. A Research shows that anxiety is more experienced in Primigravida's pregnant women. Pregnant women anxiety can arise, especially in the third trimester until delivery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, pregnant women feel increasingly anxious because the virus spreads relatively easily. This study was aimed to analyze the relationship between the anxiety level and knowledge of pregnant women in the third trimester with readiness to face childbirth during the COVID-19 pandemic in Puskesmas Benowo and Tenggilis. Methods: This type of research was observational analytic with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples was 76 third trimester pregnant women suitable the criteria that is primigravida, physiologic pregnancy, not in a long-term medication and willing to be a respondent. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The data was analyzed with Spearman’s Statistic test. Results: as many as 57.5% of respondents had severe anxiety with low readiness for childbirth and good knowledge of COVID-19. It was caused by the drug or vaccine for the Covid-19 that had not been found, and made pregnant women even more anxious and feared of something unwanted happening. Anxiety of pregnant women who were about to give birth greatly affected the readiness of the mother in preparing for childbirth, the more anxious pregnant women were, the less they would be prepared for laboring. The statistic analyze says that There was a relationship between the level of anxiety of third trimester pregnant women with readiness to give birth during the COVID-19 pandemic (p = 0.00), there was a relationship between the knowledge level with readiness to give birthd during the COVID-19 pandemic p = 0.012). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the Anxiety Level and Knowledge of Pregnant Women in the third trimester with Readiness for Childbirth during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Visiting health center for getting ANC service, at least four times during pregnancy consisting of the first visit (K1) during the first trimester, the second visit (K2) during the second trimester, and K3 and K4 visit during the third trimester must be done by pregnant women in Indonesia. The objective of this research is to analyze therapeutic and interactive communication by midwives during ANC service. This observational research used cross sectional design. The sample size is 30 women with babies under six months old from 3 PHCs working areas in Lombok Tengah District. Among all therapeutic and interactive communication indicators performed by the midwives, only responsive indicator in therapeutic communication showed insignificant influence on K4 of pregnant women. The other indicators showed significant impact. More than 50% of respondents said that midwives providing ANC had poor attending skill, respect, responsiveness, empathy, informing, persuading, and reminding. The conclusion is that the worse the pregnant women perception of midwives communication behavior is, the higher the chance for the pregnant women to drop-out during K4 is.

AbstractAnemia is a condition where the level of hemoglobin in the blood is less than the normal limit (<12 g%) caused by a lack of iron in the body due to malnutrition. While anemia in pregnancy is a condition where the hemoglobin level in pregnant women is <11gr% or <10.5gr% in third trimester pregnant women which generally occurs due to the hemodilution process. The purpose of this case to find out the cause of anemia in late pregnancy and the treatment that can be done to prevent complications that occur with care to routinely consume blood-added tablets (Fe) and recommend foods high in iron. This care design used a comprehensive care method for pregnant women in the third trimester who experience mild anemia (haemoglobin <10,5gr%) in Kalimade Village, Kesesi District, Pekalongan Regency. The results of this care showed an increase in hemoglobin levels in the mother. The conclusion of this case study shows that regularly consuming Fe tablets can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood so that it can prevent and treat anemia. For this reason, pregnant women are expected to routinely consume Fe tablets during pregnancy and midwives are expected to provide education about the benefits of Fe tablets to pregnant women to prevent anemia.
