ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to reveal the social criticism depicted in Djenar's Novel Nayla's works. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that is research by solving a problem that exists in the object. This study used a Socioligi approach to literary sociology theory. The data source in this study was Nayla's novel by Djenar Maesa Ayu. The research data is in the form of words and display of narrator sentences and story figures and story actions. Data collection is done by reading, understanding and analyzing the novel. The data analysis is done by interpreting the data with the theory used in the research. The data validation technique in this study has discussions with lecturers to obtain correct and true information. The results of this study were the social criticism of poverty, social criticism of crime, social criticism of family disorganization, social homosexual criticism, and social and environmental unrest. The conclusion of the results and the discussion that, the research is more to the social problems found in the novel. Kata kunci: kritik sosial, novel Nayla, Djenar Maesa Ayu.

Every literary work must have the social values ​​of life contained in it, whether conveyed implicitly or explicitly.  Like the novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya, it contains many social values ​​and so on.  With these problems, this research article is written to discuss "Analysis of Social Values ​​in the novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya using the mimetic approach”. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive research methods.  Data collection techniques carried out, in the form of documentation, as well as research instruments were the researchers themselves using a check list of the classification of research materials and notes of observations.  The data analysis technique in this study is a descriptive interpretive technique, where the researcher tries to describe the opinions and views that are on an object of research.  This article aims to find out the social values ​​contained in the novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya.  The results of this study indicate that social problems cannot be separated from the relationships that accompany them.  These relationships include human problems with humans, human problems with oneself and human problems with culture.

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aimed to understand the life of the transgender figure in the novel of Calabai, analyzing the values of social education reflected through the example of calabai attitude, and analyzing the integration of social education values of calabai figures as a stimulus to build character in learning of prose appreciation in STKIP PGRI Ponorogo. The source of data used in this research is Calabai novel document by Pepi Al-Bayqunie, while the data collected in the form of the result of the study note of the novel. Data collecting technique uses non-interactive technique by doing intensive reading on the novel and do recording actively by content analyzing method. Validity of this research uses data triangulation technique and method of triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model, which is data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research show that the sensitivity and the concern of transgender characters in the novel of Calabai to fellows is a representative value of social education model to the younger generation. The value of social education reflected through the transgender figure in the novel of Calabai includes the social attitude of caring family, caring friend, and caring for the community. Social care is manifested in the form of obedience, patience, sacrifice, sincerity, religious, sympathy and empathy, gratitude, and compassion. The values of social education represented by transgender figures in the novel Calabai can be used as a stimulus to build character in prose appreciation learning in STKIP PGRI Ponorogo.

AbstractSufistic Aspects in the Novel Asmaraloka by Danarto.The purpose of the research inthis thesis is to reveal the sufistic aspects in the novel Asmaraloka by Danarto. Danartois one of the writers who influential in the development of Sufistic literature inIndonesia. Using central themes related to transcendental experience is the inherentcharacteristic of Danarto. By looking at the concept of Danarto's authorship closelyrelated to Tasawuf or Sufism, the Asmaraloka novel cannot be separated from the bondbetween the lover and the Highest Creator. With the setting of a mirage war, Danartocriticizes human nature who are always easy to fight with each other just because ofdifferences. Prolonged war turmoil is as a description of the search for the meaning ofhuman nature. This research is qualitative descriptive research using a Sufistic literaryapproach and assisted by the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes which refers to theavailable signs and markers in the text, which have a correlation to the things outside.The method used is a content analysis method that helps researchers to focus onsubstantial discussions from primary sources supported by secondary data sources. Theprimary data source of this study was the novel Asmaraloka by Danarto which was republishedby Diva Press in 2016. While the secondary data source of this study was inthe form of national and international articles and journals.Key words: character education, semiotic, sufistic, tasawuf, transcendental AbstrakAspek Sufistik Dalam Novel Asmaraloka Karya Danarto. Tujuan penelitian pada tesisini adalah mengungkap aspek sufistik dalam novel Asmaraloka karya Danarto.Danarto merupakan salah satu sastrawan yang berpengaruh pada perkembangansastra sufistik di Indonesia. Mengangkat tema-tema sentral yang berkaitan denganpengalaman transendental menjadi ciri khas yang melekat pada Danarto. Denganmelihat konsep kepengarangan Danarto yang lekat dengan tasawuf atau sufisme, novelAsmaraloka tidak lepas dari ikatan antara sang pencinta dan Yang Maha Pencipta.Berlatar cerita perang fatamorgana, Danarto mengkritisi sifat manusia yang selalumudah bertikai satu sama lainnya hanya karena masalah perbedaan. Kemelut perangyang berkepanjangan sebagai gambaran pencarian makna hakikat manusia. Penelitianini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatankonsep sastra sufistik, tasawuf dan dibantu teori semiotik dari Roland Barthes yangmengacu pada tanda maupun petanda yang ada dalam teks, yang memiliki korelasipada hal yang berada diluarnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis isiyang membantu peneliti untuk fokus pada pembahasan yang substansial dari sumberprimer yang didukung oleh sumber data sekunder. Adapun sumber data primer daripenelitian ini adalah novel Asmaraloka karya Danarto yang diterbitkan ulang olehDiva Press pada tahun 2016. Abstrak Analisis melalui tinjauan wacana merupakan salah satu kegiatan praktik dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah pragmatik. Ruang lingkup permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tinjauan analisis dalam wacana “Debat Capres–Cawapres 2019”. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mendeskripsikan hasil analisis yang terdapat dalam wacana. Penelitian ini menggunakan data penelitian tentang bentuk penggunan bahasa yang digunakan dalam komunikasi. Sumber data yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wacana “Debat Capres–Cawapres 2019”. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode  qualitative-descriptive research. Subjek penelitian ini yakni Mahasiswa PBSI FKIP UNISSULA. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis wacana “Debat Capres–Cawapres 2019”. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data dengan model siklus interaktif berupa penyajian data kemudian melakukan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian akan diimplikasikan dalam mata kuliah Pragmatik PBSI FKIP UNISSULA Abstract Analysis through discourse review is one of the practical activities in learning pragmatic subjects. The scope of the problem in this study is a review of the analysis in the discourse "2019 Presidential Candidates-Presidential Candidates". This study was designed to describe the results of the analysis contained in the discourse. This study uses research data on the form of language used in communication. The data source that will be used in this study is the discourse "2019 Presidential Candidates-Presidential Debate". This research method uses qualitative-descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were PBSI FKIP UNISSULA students. Data collection techniques were carried out through the discourse analysis "2019 Presidential Candidate-Presidential Debate". In this study using data analysis techniques with interactive cycle models in the form of data presentation then draw conclusions. The results of the study will be implicated in the Pragmatic PBSI FKIP UNISSULA course

AbstractThe purpose of the research is to identify the forms of reduplication in Sinjai Bugineses dialect and also its meaning and its function. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data source is the forms of reduplication of the Sinjai Buginese dialect used in daily communication. Data collection techniques uses read and note techniques, while the data analysis method uses sharing method by Immediate Constituent Analysis technique. The result of this study founds some forms of reduplication in Sinjai Buginese dialect as follows: (a) full reduplication, (b) partial reduplication, (c) reduplicative affixes, and (d) initial reduplication. Reduplication can be used to form new words, e.g to form nouns, while it may be used to denote a number of things such as number (plurality, distribution, collectivity), distribution af an argument, tense, aspect, intensity, conditionality, reciprocity, and pretense. Keywords: reduplication, Bugis language, meaning, Sinjai dialect AbstrakPenggunaan bahasa Bugis di Kabupaten Sinjai selain sebagai alat komunikasi sehari-hari, juga sebagai sarana pendukung kebudayaan penuturnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk reduplikasi dalam bahasa Bugis dialek Sinjai beserta fungsi dan maknanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berupa bentuk-bentuk reduplikasi yang digunakan oleh penuturnya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik simak dan catat, sedangkan metode analisis data menggunakan metode agih dengan teknik pilah unsur langsung. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh gambaran bentuk-bentuk reduplikasi dalam bahasa Bugis dialek Sinjai, yaitu: (a) reduplikasi seluruh, (b) reduplikasi sebagian, (c) reduplikasi berimbuhan, dan (d) reduplikasi berubah bentuk. Reduplikasi berfungsi membentuk nomina sedangkan maknanya adalah menyatakan perbuatan frekuentatif, perbuatan untuk beberapa saat lamanya, perbuatan yang dilakukan dengan tidak serius atau gerak sedikit, perbuatan saling, makna agak, makna benda yang menjadi objek atau alat, makna keadaan atau sifat yang disebut oleh bentuk dasar, makna bermacam-macam, makna kumpulan, makna menyerupai atau seperti, makna tiap-tiap, makna intensitas, makna perbandingan sangat atau paling, dan makna hanya atau cuma.Kata Kunci: reduplikasi, bahasa Bugis, makna, dialek Sinjai

This study was aimed to analyze the woman images based on the main chracter that is consisted in the novel Terusir and to find how the woman images appeared in the novel Terusir. This research was qualitative descriptive research. The data were taken from the sentences in the novel Terusir. The data collected by documentary technique. This research deals with theory which is conducted by Sugihastuti (2000), where she said woman images is the images of woman roles in social life, divided into physic, psychology and social context. There are beautiful, cosmetic defender nd sexual pleasure in the physic images. There are great sense of belonging, patient, vicious creature, faith defender, generous, obedient and feminist in psychology images. And the last, there are naive creature, construct, angel in the house, devoted to the family, whore is broken, and widow bad in the social images.  And the woman images are described from the main character named Mariah and the other characters.Keywords : Novel, feminist literary criticism, woman images

This research is based on the development of feminism values in the community. In a patriarchal environment, women have a low position compared to men. Women are subordinated in various fields of life, such as in the fields of education, social affairs and economics. This study aims to describe the values of feminism contained in the novel “Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar” by Alberthiene Endah. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with a feminist literary criticism approach. The research method used is content analysis with data collection techniques read and record. The data source in this study is the novel “Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar” by Alberthiene Endah. Based on the results of the research, in the novel “Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dollar” by Alberthiene Endah there are values of feminism which include: (a) the value of feminism in education, (b) the value of feminism in the social field, and (c) the value of feminism in the economic. Aishworo Ang, pengarang yang berasal dari Gunungkidul mengemukakan tanggapan dan sindiran sebagai wujud ketidakpuasan dan ketidaksetujuannya pada beberapa fenomena sosial yang ada di dalam novel keduanya, Mars. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan mendeskripsikan kritik sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Mars. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Dari hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada banyak kritik sosial yang ada di novel Mars. Kritik sosial tersebut meliputi kritik terhadap kekuasaan, kritik terhadap kinerja pemerintah, kritik terhadap oknum politisi, kritik terhadap pemberian nama, kritik terhadap sistem pendidikan, kritik terhadap tenaga pendidik, dan kritik terhadap penyalahgunaan tradisi.Aishworo Ang, an author from Gunungkidul, expressed his responses and satire as a form of dissatisfaction and disagreement about some of the social phenomena in his second novel, Mars. This study aims to reveal and describe social criticism contained in the novel Mars. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods using the sociological approach to literature. From the results of the discussion it can be concluded that there are many social criticisms in the Mars novel. These social criticisms include criticism of power, criticism of government performance, criticism of politicians, criticism of naming, criticism of the education system, criticism of educators, and criticism of abuse of tradition.

This research is based on the fact that novels are still popular in Indonesia with a background of women who are portrayed as weak creatures compared to men from all aspects. Novels with a theme like this are still very popular today, even though novels are one of the media to convey information to society so that people's perceptions of women are shaped like that. The purpose of this research is to describe the representation of feminism in the economic and social aspects of the novel Namaku Dahlia. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive analytical method. The data source in this research is the novel Namaku Dahlia by Syafrizaldi. The data collection technique used is literature. The theory used in this research is feminism. The results of this study indicate that the novel Namaku Dahlia contains feminist ideas specifically in the economic and social fields. The results showed that there were four data representing feminism on the economic aspect and three data representing feminism on the social aspect.

The purpose of this research is to find social reflection on the novel Dhadhung Kepuntir by Tulus S., and the educational values ​​in the novel. This research is a qualitative descriptive study through the sociology approach of Swingewood literature. Content analysis and descriptive analysis were used as data analysis techniques. The data source used is the novel Dhadhung Kepuntir by Tulus S. The result of this research is that the novel Dhadhung Kepuntir reflects the social facts of Javanese society. This can be seen from the depiction; the languages, ethnic, the place, the socio-cultural background in the novel is like a description of finding a job. In addition, there are various educational values ​​that are reflected in the novel Dhadhung Kepuntir by Tulus S., including: persistence (patience, never giving up, working hard), caring values ​​(kinship, harmony, respect), religious values ​​(gratitude, noble, sincere). The depiction of the character Darmo who is always persistent in changing the fate to get the better life, can be inspiration for the younger generation to achieve their dreams.  Keywords: education value; sociology of literature; reflection
