Character is the way ot thinking and behaving every person in their living, such as in the family, community, and nation. Person who have good character are individuals who can make decisions, consistant, and consequence with their attitude and behavior. The reasons show that a character education needs to be invested as early as possible anticipate all of future problem. In biology learning, students can train responsibility value, care to environtment and conservation effort. Demoralization occured in school life. Teachers as the person incharge of the students?óÔé¼Ôäó education in school must find the way out to demolish the demoralization. Character Education needs to be developed in school to maintain students?óÔé¼Ôäó behaviour. Character Building is important to be developed in the learning process. The development of Character Building is integrated into subject matters in elementary schools. Teachers should be involved in the character education for students. In running the process of learning, instructional materials are needed. Syllabus and lesson plan are parts of the instructional materials. Teachers are not only responsible for educating students in school but also responsible for building students?óÔé¼Ôäó characters through the material they deliver. Character Buildings are integrated in the syllabus and lesson plan in order that the students can apply the moral values from the material they learn in their daily lifes. The syllabus and lesson plan improvement with all the potency can be used for supporting the effectivity of character education implementation which is becoming the prior attention. Teachers should know more about students personality and what students need in the learning process. Teachers can improve their skills in making syllabus and lesson plans based character education by joining this workshop. Teachers need to be ?óÔé¼?ôan up-date?óÔé¼?Ø person in giving materials and delivering the moral values to build the students?óÔé¼Ôäó character. Through the program of repetition drills and monitoring, teachers can learn more about syllabus based character education to fulfill the students?óÔé¼Ôäó need. Syllabus based character education has to be used for imprasing the character education in order for gaining teachers?óÔé¼Ôäó and students?óÔé¼Ôäó creativity.Key words: Syllabus, Character Buildings.

Giving stimulus from educators in the form of giving appreciation and punishment will greatly affect the way of thinking and behavior of students in achieving the goals of character education that have been set. This study aims to describe the implementation of reward and punishment in shaping the character of students' discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data used source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this study indicate: (1) The implementation of rewards in shaping the discipline character of students is done by giving rewards in the form of praise and giving appreciation in the form of gifts. (2) The implementation of punishment in shaping the disciplinary character of students is carried out by giving gradual warnings, giving spontaneous warnings and written warning letters. (3) Evaluation of the implementation of rewards and punishments in shaping the character of students' discipline is using process evaluation, which is an assessment carried out during the learning process by observing the attitudes of students everyday when they are in the madrasa environment.. Keywords: Reward; Punishment; Discipline; Learners Pemberian stimulus dari pendidik berupa pemberian apresiasi dan hukuman akan sangat mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan tingkah laku peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan karakter yang sudah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter disiplin peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi tehnik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Implementasi reward dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan memberikan reward dalam bentuk pujian serta memberikan apresiasi dalam bentuk hadiah. (2) Implementasi punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan cara memberi peringatan secara bertahap, memberi teguran spontan dan surat peringatan tertulis. (3) Evaluasi implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik adalah menggunakan evaluasi proses, yaitu penilaian yang dilakukan di saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan mengamati dari sikap peserta didik sehari-hari ketika berada di lingkungan madrasah. The title of the research is The Role of Parents in Shaping the Character of Children in the Globalization Era in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. In the current era of globalization, there are many influences, both positive and negative. This negative influence must be avoided because it can affect a person's habits, attitudes, and behavior. Character education is one of the important things that must be applied in the family environment. Parents must reflect good attitudes and habits in interacting in the family environment and in the community environment. This is important for fostering good attitudes and habits in children. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the role of parents in improving children's character in the era of globalization, Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. What factors can influence the formation of children's character in the era of globalization, Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. What efforts are made by parents in shaping children's character in the era of globalization in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. This study aims to determine the role of parents in shaping children's character in the era of globalization in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. The subjects of this study were 6 parents and 6 children in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data analysis in qualitative research is by doing data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents in Masigit Village, Citangkil Village, Cilegon City has been good in shaping children's character in the era of globalization.

Character building is an important step in the process of education, especially Islamic education. The occurrence of various forms of immoral behavior from the community, especially students is an increasingly problematic education today. Character building needs to be done early on to students, both within the family and educational institutions. This paper is intended to look at the process of character building in one of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah institutions in Yogyakarta that applies the Fullday school model with a boarding school education base. The formulation of the problem to be answered is about how the process of implementing the Fullday school system in fostering children's character and how to foster children's character with boarding-based values. The results of the study show that character building through the Fullday school program can run more effectively because the teacher's guidance to students is more intensive. In addition, the planting of the values of the pesantrenan can provide students with supplies, such as serving the parents, living a simple and thrifty life, discipline, and so on. Character education and coaching in MI Nurul Ummah is the parents' choice because education obtained by children outside the home can be guaranteed.

The main and first character education for children is the family environment. Education in the family is very important and is the main pillar of character building for a child. Hindu teachings contain a lot about character education, morals, ethics and manners. Moral education can be seen in the story of Sundara Kanda, which is a sub of Itihasa in the Ramayana epic that tells the journey of life with various obstacles and tests that must be faced with full fortitude, strength and determination. Every event that occurs in the Sundara Kanda story is a unified narrative unit in resolving the conflict of every event. The setting in this story uses the setting of Mount Mainaka, Alengka Palace, Taman Angsoka, Kiskinda kingdom. The character is Hanuman who becomes a central figure, then there are goddesses Sitā and Ravana. The accompanying figures are Trijata, Wibisana, Anggada, Jembawan, Sugriwa, Laksmana and Rama. Rahwana as the Antagonist, then there are also giants. His mandate is loyalty and determination in carrying out dharma. Character characters contained in the Sundara Kanda story include characterization displayed through the use of the character's name, through the appearance of the character, and characterization through the author's speech. In accordance with the characters contained in Hindu teachings, namely in the book of Bhagawadgita, the characters in the Sundara Kanda story can be grouped into two characters namely daivi sampad and asuri sampad. The values ​​contained in the character of the Sundara Kanda story include religious, honesty, responsibility, tolerance, discipline, and hard work. As a whole, the character's character value is a national character that should be inculcated and developed to the wider community, in order to shape the attitudes and behavior of a person in carrying out the duties and obligations that should be carried out both towards oneself, the family environment, society, nation and state.

Parents have a very important role and function in children's character building. In the family, parents are madrasatul or school first and foremost for children, therefore, parents reinforcement must be able to provide character education for their cihildren at home. Luqman the Wise, one of man who is mentioned in the Holy Qur`an, is not a prophet neither messenger of God. He is just an ordinary man like us. What differing between us and him is the noble idea of this man regarding the way he educates his children. Luqman educated his children by planting the consciousness of God in the heart of his children. By this awareness, children will raise not only with strong intellectual ability but also beautiful manners, respecting values of humanities and coloring their live with high values of moralities. This article explores Luqman wise words that were recorded in Surah Luqman verses 13 until 19 and evaluates the key success of Luqman’s education system. Compared to modern concept of character education, Luqman method was in accordance with its spirit and goal. Furthermore, the writer found that the core value which is always exists and building all Luqman’s wise words is the consciousness of the existence of God. In Islamic perspective, this transcendental awareness is the basic value for all process of character building in creating good habituation and manner known as akhlaaq al kariimah.

Family is a place of learning that is full of true love and affection. Good characters embodied in the family are very fundamental human characteristics. Children’s capability to function as responsible citizens must be nurtured early on. Family is the smallest social unit that has an important role in the development of children's character, which lies in character education model given by the parents to their children. Character education within a family has not been conceptualized in a way that leads to a variety of educational praxis according to the understanding of each parent. The purpose of the study is to describe what values can be internalized to a family since early childhood. The research method used is literature study (library research), which is a research conducted by the researchers by collecting a number of books, magazines, leaflets pertaining to problems and research objectives. The findings show that children's character education should start from within the family, because family is the smallest unit of society and it will depend on parents to teach children from early age. Children’s character building within the family is not an easy practice because it requires systemic handling. There are interrelationships of other components, such as schools and community environments, which is necessary in its implementation. Character education in early childhood should start from the family through the eight family functions including (1) Education Function, (2) Protection Function, (3) Affection function, (4) Socialization function, (5) Reproduction Function, (6) Religious Functions, (7) Economic Functions, and (8) Recreation Functions.
