Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan yang telah dilakukan didapatkan tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat di Desa Gunungsari terkait pengolahan sampah plastik menjadi BBM masih kurang sehingga perlu adanya pendampingan dalam pengolahan sampah plastik menjadi BBM melalui PoGREP.Community Empowerment through Training on Plastic Waste Management Using Portable Garbage Reducer-Energy Producers (Po Grep) in Gunungsari, West Lombok RegencyAbstractSpecific targets to be achieved through the KKN-PPM Program activities are: (a) minimizing plastic waste that is difficult to decompose, especially in Gunungsari, West Lombok Regency, (b) increasing the efficiency of waste management costs, (c) making improvements to the waste processing technology system through processing plastic waste using Portable Garbage Reducer-Energy Producers (Po GREP), (d) increasing community participation to be more enthusiastic in processing plastic waste using Portable Garbage Reducer-Energy Producers (Po GREP), (e) building effective partnerships and cooperation between Universities, Local Government and the community in Gunungsari, West Lombok Regency. ABSTRACT Sanur Kaja Village has a special waste management facility for processing waste produced by the village community, namely Depo Cemara. Based on previous research, it is known that activities that are running at Depo Cemara are less efficient because not all village communities sort waste and apply the 3R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) principle in household waste management. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the waste management system that has been implemented by the people of Sanur Kaja Village by comparing the amount of waste managed by households with the 3R principle with the amount of waste wasted in order to obtain a percentage of waste reduction. Data collection was obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The data obtained were then calculated by analyzing the mass balance of waste and then further analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis methods. The results of research on 96 households show that community-based waste management is still not effective because the percentage of waste reduction that occurs in one day only 22,5 percent and respondents who sort household waste are 44 percent. The community agreed to the plan to implement the 3R principle in household waste management and considered it important to add supporting facilities for waste management.

Cumulative plastic production worldwide skyrocketed from about 2 million tonnes in 1950 to 8.3 billion tonnes in 2015, with 6.3 billion tonnes (76%) ending up as waste. Of that waste, 79% is either in landfills or the environment. The purpose of the review is to establish the current global status quo in the plastics industry and assess the sustainability of some bio-based biodegradable plastics. This integrative and consolidated review thus builds on previous studies that have focused either on one or a few of the aspects considered in this paper. Three broad items to strongly consider are: Biodegradable plastics and other alternatives are not always environmentally superior to fossil-based plastics; less investment has been made in plastic waste management than in plastics production; and there is no single solution to plastic waste management. Some strategies to push for include: increasing recycling rates, reclaiming plastic waste from the environment, and bans or using alternatives, which can lessen the negative impacts of fossil-based plastics. However, each one has its own challenges, and country-specific scientific evidence is necessary to justify any suggested solutions. In conclusion, governments from all countries and stakeholders should work to strengthen waste management infrastructure in low- and middle-income countries while extended producer responsibility (EPR) and deposit refund schemes (DPRs) are important add-ons to consider in plastic waste management, as they have been found to be effective in Australia, France, Germany, and Ecuador.

Pegandon Village, Karangdadap District, Pekalongan, one of the areas affected by the Pemalang-Batang toll road. The project has many negative impacts on the communities around the village, including children. This village is also known as a village with vast rice fields and rivers in the area. Children are the environmental assets of the future that play a very important role in preserving natural resources. So, their understanding of the Qur'anic teachings about environment is the key to maintaining human relations with nature. With a good understanding, it fosters the sensitivity to be a creature for nature in future generations. This empowerment is intended to provide understanding and sensitivity of children, especially for students of Quranic Education Park (TPQ) and Madrasah Diniyah Bustanul Iman, Pegandon Karangdadap Village, Pekalongan. Empowerment is built with the assistance method with a contextual, cooperative and problem-based approach. Empowerment is presented through the introduction of verses that teach about the environment, including natural wealth, the prohibition of damaging the environment and the obligation to preserve it. The series of activities that have been carried out have positive implications for children of TPQ and Madrasah Diniyah Bustanul Iman because they have been able to understand and practice environmental verses as teachings to preserve the environment from damage and efforts to conserve it.
