SummaryCrossFit is one of the sports disciplines where endurance play a significant role in the performance. For testing anaerobic fitness it is important to choose the means that are part of the exercise and have a good transfer to the sport. A sample of competitive crossfitters (n = 12) underwent stress tests on the assault air bike (AB) (60 s) and Wingate. In addition to the performance parameters (Wmax, Wmean, W/kg, cal), lactate values after exercise (1st, 5th, 10th and 15th minute) were monitored. The results showed significant differences in both the absolute values of lactate and the development of the lactate curve (α = 0.05). The correlation of the selected variables showed a significant relationship between the average Watts value and the calories traveled (0.894). Testing anaerobic fitness with AB appears to be a suitable variant for CrossFit, as well as monitoring the development of lactate curve. Due to the original design of the study, it is necessary to verify the results.

AbstractThe article investigates Meillassoux’s notion of the absolute in relationship with the Kantian and Hegelian philosophical systems. The absolute, as independent of subjective consciousness, is showcased as the meeting point of speculation and fiction. By looking into Meillassoux’s notions of speculation and some works of weird fiction, it is argued that the significant role of imagination as well as a deferred temporality is what facilitates the discussion of both speculation and fiction as faculties able to transcend the limitations that are projected by the correlationist mind. Through a reading of Lovecraftian fiction, both the strong and weak points of Meillassoux’s argumentation in After Finitude and Science Fiction and Extro-Science Fiction are identified, proving the latter to be a less successful way of grasping the chaotic real.

In a constantly changing and increasingly globalised world, religion still plays a significant role in influencing consumer behavior. The intent behind this study is to scrutinize the effect of normative factors on Muslim consumers’ apparel purchasing decisions. The survey was comprised of a sample of 500 Muslim consumers from the universities and shopping malls in Faisalabad city of Pakistan. Correlation was used to analyze the sample. The findings indicate that consumers in Faisalabad (Pakistan) area consider Islam their source of reference, and they prefer to wear clothing as commanded by Islamic Shriah. This study confirms that normative factors had a highly significant relationship with consumer buying behavior. The chapter’s interesting findings serve to remind organizations that they cannot neglect the element of religion in their marketing activities, particularly when operating in the vicinity of Islamic countries.

This paper focuses on spatial distribution of immigrants in districts of Czechia. Firstly, a brief description of the distribution is given with respect to the main groups of immigrants according to their citizenship. Then we examine the issue empirically by correlation and regression analyses trying to find out which factors explain the immigrants' distribution. A significant relationship has been found between geographical macro-position of districts and both the absolute numbers and relative shares of foreigners in population. Interestingly, the factor of settlement hierarchy is significant only for the absolute numbers of immigrants. In addition, factors such as aggregate economic level and unemployment rate have not been found significant when controlling for other factors. A question for further research is the relationship that has been indicated between both the characteristics of foreigners' distribution and the level of criminality.

In this study, it is aimed to assess the aerodynamic and flight effects of the flap design on an airfoil. For this purpose, NACA 4415 type wing profile, which can also be used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is selected. The original design and the +5-degree flapped design which has constant other design features are compared. Assessments are performed under constant Reynolds numbers and an angle of attack between 0-10 degrees with a 1-degree interval. Analyses are made using the open-source software XFLR5. For the flapped design is named NACA 4415-2, some basic aerodynamic performance parameters such as coefficient of drag (CD), coefficient of lift (CL) coefficient of pressure (Cp) maximum lift coefficient (Clmax) and minimum stall velocity (Vstall) have been observed. According to results, when the flap with 5o is added to the airfoil, it has been observed that the CL and Lift force of the original design of the airfoil increase significantly, CD of the airfoil increase partially, and the pressure coefficient tends to decrease significantly. Furthermore, it has been observed that while the minimum stall velocity has decreased, Clmax values increased.

Background: Gated stress studies with Thallium previously suggested that SPECT overestimated the ejection fraction obtained with other modalities, limiting its use. Objective: To compare ejection fractions (EF) obtained from post pharmacologic stress gated SPECT using Technicium99m with EFs estimated by transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) or cardiac catheterization (angio). Methods: From a university-based outpatient stress lab, 502 stress tests performed over 14 months were reviewed; 126 gated pharmacologic stress tests were analyzed. Contemporaneous TTEs were available in 114, and angios in 26 of the studies. The stress nuclear protocols included a slow walk and the stress agent was regadenoson in the majority of the studies. Mean EF reported from the post-stress gated SPECT, TTEs, and angios were tested with ANOVA. The absolute variance in EF between each two contemporaneous groups was averaged and compared using a 2-tailed student t-test to the other groups. Results: The mean EFs obtained from SPECT, TTE and angio were 64 ± 12%, 58 ± 9% and 53 ± 6% respectively (P < 0.01). The absolute variance in SPECT-TTE and SPECT-angio were 9.2 ± 6.4% and 10.3 ± 7.7% respectively (P < 0.05 vs TTE-angio); TTE-angio absolute variance was 5.6 ± 4.8%. Discussion: Studies have conflicted with regards to reliability of gated SPECT-derived left ventricular volumes and ejection fractions. Although lack of correlation has been suggested, overestimation of ejection fraction has also been described. In this study we found a tendency for SPECT to overestimate the ejection fraction in post-stress gated studies compared with echocardiography and cath. Although several factors may have contributed to this observation, it is possible that the SPECT EF is augmented by the vasodilator effect of the stress pharmacologic agent. Further studies are needed to better qualify these findings. Meanwhile, given the importance of accurate quantification of a resting ejection fraction, especially as it relates evaluation of significant of valvular abnormalities or device therapy in heart failure, reliance on a SPECT-derived ejection fraction may cause undue delay in therapy.

This study examines the relationship between trading volume and stock returns in the JSE Securities Exchange in South Africa. The study looked at the price and trading returns of the FTSE/JSE index from July 22, 1988 till June 11, 2012. The study revealed that stock returns are positively related to the contemporary change in trading volume. Further, it was found that past returns were not affected significantly by changes in trading volumes. The results present a significant relationship between trading volume and the absolute value of price changes. Autoregressive tests were used to explore whether return causes volume or volume causes return. The results suggest that volume is influenced by a lagged returns effect for the FTSE/JSE index. Therefore, return seems to contribute some information to investors when they make investment decisions.

Based on the results achieved in the Berne Clinic, B. advocates the initiation of artificial premature births with a narrow pelvis, as one of the most beneficial obstetric operations. According to the author's opinion, neither the anamnesis of the previous labor, nor the absolute degree of pelvic narrowness play a significant role here, and the indication for the operation should be set only after orientation regarding the degree of discrepancy between the fetal head and the size of the pelvis.

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationships between the level of physical fitness and the physical performance parameters recorded by GPS in official FIFA matches of the Chilean women’s senior national football team in the period 2018–2020. Twenty-six female field players (age (mean ± SD) 26.8 ± 3.3 years, height 157.8 ± 21.5 cm, weight 58.9 ± 4.9 kg) participated in the study. Physical fitness variables were assessed: muscular strength, countermovement jump (CMJ), speed, agility and aerobic fitness. Physical performance variables were recorded by GPS in 26 official FIFA matches. The most notable associations with significant statistical significance (p < 0.001) were those observed between neuromuscular variables such as time to run 10 m (T10; r = −0.629) and jump (CMJ; r = 0.502) and the number of accelerations; aerobic fitness showed a highly significant relationship with meters run per minute (M/M; r = 0.589). The findings of this study provide evidence of how the level of physical fitness (neuromuscular and aerobic) relates to physical performance parameters recorded in official competitions.

The enterprises that result in the creation of companies are in need of implementing strategies that translate into an adequate positioning of their sector against competition. It also allows them to survive in global markets and to undergo continuous changes. For this reason, innovation as a part of the project is an important differentiating factor. In this context, this paper focuses on contrasting the actions focused on innovation by entrepreneurs of micro and small Mexican companies in the service sector of Mexicali, Baja California, and Villahermosa, Tabasco, with the aim of identifying the significant role played by innovation in the course of time. The above was achieved through a quantitative study that has a descriptive, exploratory, and correlational scope. As part of the results, it is through these strategies that it helps to promote an innovative enterprise, facilitating the generation of new ideas, and improving its ability to innovate. This would, however, results to products and services that are scalable and of greater value, taking the company to competitive levels and promoting its development in a sustainable manner. In conclusion, this effort must be permanent because there is a positive and significant relationship between innovation and actions in the development of it. This is not only for the company, but for the entity where they are located.
