AbstractThe main aim of the paper is to investigate and discuss the influence of digital transformation (DT) on the processes, tools, and outcomes of project management. It seems to be accepted that not only has the digital economy a great impact on the technologies used, but it affects the transition of strategies, business models, structures, or competences. The objective of the research demonstrated in this paper was to identify the main dimensions and scope of the impact of DT on the area of project management. The conclusions as to the multidimensionality of this impact were drawn on the basis of empirical investigations conducted on a sample of around a hundred of project managers and on the analyses of their perception of the most important aspects of DT. The crucial themes, as well as the advantages and barriers of DT, were discussed briefly.

The beginning of the XXI century is marked by the advent of the digital economy. In order to achieve the expected results from the digital revolution in economic and social terms, it is necessary to develop a mechanism for managing the digital transformation of the economy, in the implementation of which representatives of all stakeholders must take an active part: the state, business, education system, civil society. There are quite a lot of forecasts of negative consequences of the fourth industrial revolution, namely its latest technological achievements – robotics, digitalization, artificial intelligence, etc. – on the state of employment in the labor market on the scale of a single country and the entire global space. The constructive dialogue of the participants in the digital transformation should be based on the analysis of the impact of technological progress on employment in several aspects: short – term – temporary increase in unemployment due to the discrepancy between the structure of demand and the structure of labor supply; long-term-on the progressive reduction of demand for labor due to its technologization. The article focuses on the need for high-quality training of qualified personnel, demanded by the labor market and the real sector of the economy, the relevance of competencies which will be maintained in the long term. The author emphasizes that at the same time that technological progress leads to the elimination of «old» professions, it also dictates the need for the emergence of fundamentally new professions and the creation of new jobs, the effect of which can be significantly higher. The conducted research allowed to identify the prospects and possibilities of the technological transformation in the various sectors of the economy, at the same time stresses the need to undertake analysis of its economic feasibility in relation to the specific features of each company. The analysis of digital transformation of the industry has allowed to reveal new progressive business models, the axis of which are digital technologies.

Subject. The emergence of new ways of interaction between sellers and buyers, the formation of new sales channels and product promotion based on the use of digital economy tools is at the heart of improving the business processes. Social networks became a tool for development; their rapid growth necessitates theoretical understanding and identification of potential application in enterprise's business process digitalization. Objectives. We explore the role of social media in the digitalization of business processes, systematize the impact of social networks on business processes of enterprises in the digital economy. Methods. The theoretical and methodological analysis of social networks as a tool for digitalization of company's business processes rests on the content analysis of domestic and foreign scientific studies, comparison, generalization and systematization. Results. We highlight the key effects of the impact of social networks on the business processes of the company; show that the digitalization of business processes should be considered in the context of a value-based approach, aimed at creating a value through the algorithmization of company operations. We determine that social networks are one of the most important tools for digitalization of company's business processes, as they have a high organizational and management potential. We also systematize the effects of social media on company's business processes. Conclusions. We present theoretical provisions of the impact of social networks on business processes of enterprises, which will enable to model and organize ideas about the development of digital ecosystems and the formation of business models.

The digital transformation has produced changes in all existing areas of activity worldwide. There are many factors that can influence the intention to use Industry 4.0 processes and solutions and change the behavior of organizations and their business models. The aim of this study is to validate the econometric model on assessing the significant impact of distinct factors on the intention to use Industry 4.0 processes and solutions, the benefits of digital transformation perceived by organizational management and the differences between distinct groups analyzed. The research method used within the quantitative study was the sample survey, using the online questionnaire as a data collection tool. Three hundred forty-seven valid questionnaires were collected and the response rate of the respondents was 64.25%. A new structural model was generated based on the elements of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The results of the study indicated that Perceived competitiveness and Perceived risk have a significant impact on Intention to Use Industry 4.0 processes while Perceived vertical networking solutions and Perceived integrated engineering solutions have a significant influence on the Intention to Use Industry 4.0 solutions. In conclusion, there is a positive and significant association between Intention to Use Industry 4.0 solutions and Benefits of Digital Transformation.

Digital technologies, ubiquitous in our daily life, have radically changed the way we work, communicate, and consume in a short period of time. They affect all components of quality of life: well-being, work, health, education, social connections, environmental quality, the ability to participate and govern civil society, and so on. Digital transformation creates both opportunities and serious risks to the well-being of people. Researchers and statistical agencies around the world are facing a major challenge to develop new tools to analyze the impact of digital transformation on the well-being of the population. The risks are very diverse in nature and it is very difficult to identify the key factor. All researchers conclude that secure digital technologies significantly improve the lives of those who have the skills to use them and pose a serious risk of inequality for society, as they introduce a digital divide between those who have the skills to use them and those who do not. In the article, the author examines the risks created by digital technologies for some components of the quality of life (digital component of the quality of life), which are six main components: the digital quality of the population, providing the population with digital benefits, the labor market in the digital economy, the impact of digitalization on the social sphere, state electronic services for the population and the security of information activities. The study was carried out on the basis of the available statistical base and the results of research by scientists from different countries of the world. The risks of the digital economy cannot be ignored when pursuing state social policy. Attention is paid to government regulation aimed at reducing the negative consequences of digitalization through the prism of national, federal projects and other events.

Subject. The COVID-19 pandemic brought IT companies to the leadership positions in terms of many aspects, as they contribute to a new reality and the development of digital economy. It also catalyzed the emergence of large ecosystems among financial institutions and technological giants. The M&A market mainly starts to shape global processes of the global economy digitalization, urging to scientifically comprehend the processes. Objectives. We conduct the critical analysis of the way the M&A market influences the digitalization of the global economy. Methods. Studying the M&A in the Fintech and Techfin segments, we applied methods of analysis, comparison and systematization of the information. Results. We revealed key trends in digital M&A deals, describe the impact and development of such processes in the Russian practice. Conclusions and Relevance. Every year M&A deals in the financial sectors and among IT corporations generates and raises over USD 250 billion in investment, thus making almost a 20-percent contribution to a growth in the digital economy. We found some understudies risks arising from digital M&A deals, such as deal planning risks synergy assessment risks, high volatility risks associated with prices for new companies, compliance risks, digital inequality risk and new social risks. Considering the Russian specifics and predominant positions of the banking sector, the digital transformation in Russia is noted to take place through the FinTech sector gaining momentum. To accelerate the digital constituent, it is reasonable to take the following efforts: introducing the digital Ruble as announced by the Bank of Russia, outlining a programs for supporting and encouraging national IT companies to develop non-banking payment systems and accelerate the digital transformation, connecting not only credit institutions, but also digital developers to the quick payment system of the Bank of Russia.

This article analyzes the adoption of project management practices in development cooperation NGOs and their influence on project performance. This paper illustrates the impact in the implementation of methodologies, techniques and tools on outcomes, measured by success criteria of several projects recently implemented. Information from the project managers of the organizations was collected, and complemented by a literature review. We analyzed the correlation among the variables that determine the adoption of a project, and the criteria that determine its success. The positive effect of project management adoption in the performance of cooperation projects is demonstrated, in spite of the low use of methodologies, techniques and tools within the sector. The article shows the importance of project management in cooperation and aid projects, with the purpose of increasing researchers' awareness about the field as applicable knowledge and about the benefits of its use in the sector. The paper shows that project management can improve project efficiency and accountability in other sectors.

Abstract This non-experimental correlational study extends previous research investigating the relationship between project management methodology and reported project success, as well as the moderating variables of industry and project manager experience. The sample included North American project managers with five years’ experience, 25 years of age or older, and experience with multiple project management methodologies. The survey instrument consisted of 58 questions, utilizing a 5-point Likert scale to record responses. The survey contained three sections, including demographic information, questions related to a successful project, and questions related to a less-than successful (failed / challenged) project. 367 usable responses were received. The examination of the constructs included Pearson’s correlation coefficient as well as linear regression to determine the impact of moderating variables. Results indicated that project management methodology has a weak correlation with reported project success, and this correlation is not moderated by industry nor project manager experience. The results did not align with previously conducted studies, illustrating a need to continue the study of methods impacting success including investigating additional moderating variables.

The world is going green and we are collectively realizing that we do not have an unlimited amount of natural resources to utilize as we have done in the past. Material Handling Industry of America (2007) notes, “Not only do we have climate problems but we are also dealing with a resource depletion issue.” However, the project management profession seems to be in its infancy in applying green standards. How can we apply these “green” concepts to our project management discipline? One obvious way is that we can manage green projects more efficiently. For example, if you are the project manager on a project that will result in using less packaging in your products, it would be good if your project completed on time. The sooner that project ends, the sooner the green benefits will be achieved. On the other hand, if you are dealing with projects such as installing a new software package or upgrading network infrastructure, how can these projects become more environmentally friendly? The answer is Green Project Management (GreenPM®). Green project management is a model that allows project managers to think green throughout a project and make decisions that take into account the impact on the environment—if any. It is a way to ingrain “greenthink” (or green thinking) into every project management process. Greenthink connects the environment with the decisions that are made, whether project-related, professional, or in our everyday lives.

Currently there are many studies which deal with the impact of the Internet and Internet technology-based tools on organizations. Most of them are focused on such issues as the opportunities which have emerged with the development of the digital economy, possible new business models, establishing new kind of relations with customers, and security aspects. The impact of Internet technology-based tools on the internal work environment of organizations is an issue which is relatively rarely analyzed. Although more and more publications concerning this field are being released, they are only focused to a small degree on the challenges connected with the utilization, and, particularly, the misuse, of Internet technology-based tools in the workplace. Thus, this article is an attempt to deal with this issue in a more holistic way.

Abstract This article describes the impact of the global digital economy on the technological development of the mineral sector in the world. Due to the different specifics of the legislative bases of the investigated regions, such as the USA, China, EU, and Africa, the development of digital transformation is presented on the example of the Russian Federation in the context of world trends. The article presents an analysis of the possibilities of using straight-through digital technology in prospecting, design, development, and use of mineral resources. It describes a structure promoting the development of applied digital technology through research–education centers and international competence centers. This structure would allow forming the new competencies for personnel working in the digital economy. The underfunding of the information and computing infrastructure could be a significant challenge to the digital transformation of the economy. Creating the conditions for a reliable and secure process of generating, storing, and using data is the basis for protection from the cybersecurity hazard that could act as a brake on technology advancement. This article discusses the organizational and technological priorities of the development of the mineral resource sector on the example of the Russian Federation. The challenges for the mineral resource complex resulting from global changes can be taken on through technological changes of the industry. The article gives a thorough description of issues related to technological developments in the raw materials sector, oil refining industry, development of integrated and advanced mineral processing systems, and the use of household and industrial wastes. The research presents basic technology contributing to sustainable development, starting from exploration and production forecasting and up to sustainable planning and distribution of material and energy resources based on real-time data. It also pays special attention to the possibilities of creating digital platforms for the mineral sector. Digital integration, combining research areas, personnel, processes, users, and data will create conditions for scientific and technological achievements and breakthroughs, providing scientific and economic developments in related industries and, above all, in the global mineral and raw materials market.
