Abstract Indonesia’s Rice Crop Insurance (AUTP) scheme has successfully protected farmers from significant crop losses due to natural disasters. However, the current amount of AUTP’s compensation is still unable to accommodate farmer’s financing costs (i.e., unpaid micro-loan and its interests) to support crops production. This results in higher micro-loan risk and hinder the sustainability of farming enterprises. In this regard, the existing People’s Business Credit (KUR) should supposedly be accessible as a micro-loan source to help farmers fund their farms. This study has two objectives: (1) formulate an integration scheme between KUR and AUTP, and (2) determine the appropriate insurance premiums to meet the farmer’s operational and financing costs. This research used 100,000 Monte Carlo Simulations using lognormal distributions with assumptions based on the results of focus group discussion and in-depth interviews with farmer groups, the local Agriculture Service, and micro-loan distributors, as well as the data from the Ministry of Agriculture from the period of 2018–2020. Additionally, Individual Area Yield Index (I-AYI) policy and loss ratio is used to determine and evaluate the new integrated crop insurance premiums. The study revealed that the farmers expect affordable, accessible, and beneficial insurance products with premium subsidies bundled with KUR. Therefore, the government should develop an integration of crop insurance with KUR and determine the affordable premium calculations along with the insurance companies. Based on the simulation results, the total pure premium is estimated around IDR 1 million for a minimum KUR loan of IDR 8 million (suitable for farming costs).

Very little of the intense interest and activity in the field of family planning in Pakistan has come up in the form of publications. Since the formation of the Family Planning Association of Pakistan in 1953 and the initiative of the government in promoting a national family-planning programme in its Second Five-Year Plan, relatively few reports have been printed. Most of what has been written in Pakistan about family planning has either been reported at conferences abroad or published in foreign journals, or submitted as graduate dissertations at universities within the country and abroad1. While numerous papers presented at conferences in Pakistan have been given limited circulation in mimeographed form2, much of the preliminary data, emanating from most of the action-research projects in progress, are held up till substantive demographic changes are measured and approaches evaluated accordingly.

Agricultural land acquisition for urbanization (ALAFU) has strongly impacted agriculture in Vietnam during the last decades. Given the mixed data obtained from a survey with 50 households who lost 50% of their farmland area (in-depth interviews, a group-focused discussion and observation) this study shows the different impacts of ALAFU on each agricultural activity of affected household by comparing before and after ALAFU. Rice cultivation and animal breeding have sharply declined, but potted flower plantation (PFP) has quickly grown and is the main income of 34% of surveyed households. Rice cultivation has declined not only as a result of agricultural land acquisition, which has resulted in the loss of rice land, but also as a result of urbanization, which has resulted in rice land abandonment. Conversely, PFP is growing due to advantages associated with urbanization, such as a good consumer market and upgraded infrastructure. However, whether they are declining or increasing, all agricultural activities have to face challenges related to the shortcomings in agricultural land allocation and agricultural development plans. This study suggests that if ALAFU projects are continued, the government should evaluate agricultural development and forecast farmland abandonment after ALAFU. Simultaneously, they should put more effort into maintaining agriculture in the form of peri-urban or urban agriculture, which is significant for sustainable development in affected communities.

National Examination is one of the learning results assessment set by the Government, and is ruled at Minister of Education and Culture regulation Number 4 year 2018. The problem discussed in this study is the low percentage of students achieving Graduare Competence Standard/SKL 55 in the nationale examination tryout for mathematics. One of the alternatives to solve this problem is the Peer Tutoring learning method using Whatsapp Messenger application asisstance, in which the subject is grade 12 AP students of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjungpandan academic year of 2018/2019. The research method implemented is the classroom action research. The peer tutoring learning method using Whatsapp Messenger application asisstance was carried out both inside and outside the classroom by providing a smaller member whatsapp group and a classroom whatsapp group. Each small group consists of 6 people in which there were 1-2 peer tutors. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, there was an increase at the results of the tryout of mathematics national exam tryout for grade 12 AP students after peer tutoring learning method using whatsapp messenger application asisstance was applied, with the total increase up to 50%. This fact can be inferred from the difference of the test results percentage for the first tryout and the third tryout which is from 10% to 60%, while the average score is increased from 34.96 to 60.22 by 25.26 points.

A study was carried out to identify the composition and distribution of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) pathotypes on rice crop in West Nusa Tenggara, during the 2012 planting season. Three activities were conducted, namely collection of rice leaf samples from the fields, isolation of Xoo from the leaf samples at the laboratory, and testing pathotypes of Xoo at the screen house. Rice leaves showing typical bacterial leaf blight (BLB) symptom were collected from various farmers’ fields. The samples were detached and put into paper envelopes, and were taken to the laboratory for isolation of Xoo, at the Laboratory of Pythopathology of Indonesian Center for Rice Research (ICRR), Sukamandi. Pathotype testing was done in the ICRR screen house by inoculating the leaves of five differential rice varieties using inocula of the Xoo isolates. Resistance of the rice differential varieties was determined based on the BLB disease severity. Inoculated plant with disease severity ≤11% was considered resistant (R) and disease severity >11% was susceptible (S). From the 240 samples of rice leaf infected with BLB collected from West Nusa Tenggara, 232 Xoo isolates were obtained. The Xoo pathotype identification showed that pathotype IV was the most dominant in West Nusa Tenggara during the 2012 planting season, numbering 118 isolates or 51.0% out of the total isolates, followed by pathotype VIII (67 isolates or 29.0%), and pathotype III (47 isolates or 20.0%).
